Las Vegas might have been known as Sin City, but it could be a great place to live and work. Sisters Isobel and Millicent Cromwell were looking forward to their dinner plans one evening. The only task to complete before dinner was for Isobel to finish up the process of locking up their tattoo shop. Millie would be showing up soon so the two could head to dinner together.

Isobel was alone, was more capable of protecting themselves than a typical human. Unfortunately, even werewolves have something to fear while being robbed at gunpoint. Even if there was a slim chance of the bullets being silver, that didn’t stop the robber from being a threat. Instead of backing down or hiding, Isobel leapt into action and tried to grapple the guy. Isobel probably had even had the upper hand when it came to wrestling, but it wasn’t going to be an easy fight. Bullets were fired, and missed.

Millie happened to stop by just at that moment. Seeing the gun in hand and her little sister in apparent danger, Millie didn’t even think. She dashed into the shop, shifted into werewolf form, and pummeled the robber. Little did either of the Cromwells present know that the robber had back-up keeping a lookout outside... and a camera phone.

Traceless Plot Drop: August 21, 2021 - Between a Dome and a Hard Place

Traceless Village Council Leader Ethan Schuyler has not been subtle in his distaste for Fritz since they first showed up in Traceless. Typically, Ethan keeps a cool head, but he has lost that when it comes to Fritz. The odd behavior (something about tracking?) was concerning and invasive, but not enough to do more than scowl. At first he thought he misplaced his first favorite money clip, but when he noticed the strange werewolf running off with his second favorite money clip, the frustration became obvious.

A recent confrontation left all subtlety on the table. The night before the full moon, Fritz’s insults and disturbing threats for a fight led to a brief but heated argument. Without advisement, Ethan announced loudly that he would be imprisoning Fritz until a trial could be arranged. He seemed very set on utilizing something like the magical barrier known as “The Dome” to prevent the sneaky werewolf from escaping for the next few days- particularly with the full moon 

Ethan searched Fritz’s bag, and temporarily confiscated a number of items, including quite a few weapons. He let Fritz keep what seemed harmless in their possession. Ethan contacted the first Traceless Enchantment Engineer he could think of from the Traceless Protectorate Coven to create a small dome. Paul was available, and after expressing some reservations, set up a 350 square meter space in the woods of Traceless. Paul suggested this was a more humane amount of space (rather than the size of the average tiny jail cell) because it was approximately the size of someone’s garden, and Ethan accepted the suggestion.

Until further notice, Fritz is imprisoned in this new, smaller dome along with a small supply of junk food and their possessions that were not confiscated. The dome is translucent, so Fritz and any passerby can see each other. Speech can be heard through the barrier (it isn’t soundproof).

The imprisonment has not been reported by traditional news sources, but odd gossip travels fast in a town like Traceless... Maybe you heard it from your neighbor or happened to spot Fritz while trekking through the woods. For now, nobody knows what to make of this situation. But do you?

Many citizens and visitors of Traceless are interested in observing the holidays that take place between October 31st to November 2nd. Variously, Halloween, Samhain, Día de los Muertos, All Hallows Eve, and more are observed. A largely secular annual Halloween party takes place in the village. This year, Dominic Lopez has graciously agreed to host the event at his bar Thirst ‘N’ Howl. Costumes are encouraged, as there will be a costume contest!

For October, there is a relatively simple but optional task. Each character that completes both parts of this task will be featured in one of the next two upcoming events!

Part 1: Post at least one open starter. Characters with starters posted by October 15th will be featured in either the Halloween event or the following event. Each player who posts a starter between October 16th and October 31st (leading up to or as a part of the Halloween event) will have at least one character featured in the following event.

Part 2: Post a picture/pictures or detailed description of what your character plans to wear on Halloween, whether it is a costume or their normal attire, by October 21st. Tag the post as TracelessEvent2.

Lore Drop

Hello, everyone! We have some new and (hopefully) exciting Traceless lore and information to share today. 

Firstly, a new Coven has been added. The Traceless Protectorate Coven (aka “the TPC”) is the group of witches described in the plot that are responsible for powering the magical door system and monitoring for security breaches in Traceless Café.

Secondly, information about Traceless’ government is available for reading. Learn more about the Village Council, the basics of the legal system, and the “Watchers” of the TPC.

Thirdly and lastly, a list of notable NPCs is now available. All six council members, well-known members of the TPC, and the Chief of Police have been introduced. Players are welcome to mention interacting with any of these NPCs. Many of them are important business people, so these (friendly?) faces are ones that characters may encounter on any given day. While you may mention interactions with NPCs, please do not describe actions that are too opinionated. 

Example 1: “I discussed with Marnie yesterday about how concerned I was about the lack of hybrid representation in Traceless.” would make sense- Marnie is a councilmember, and we have not ascribed her with a particular stance even if we might assume she is sympathetic based on her Info. “Marnie started ranting to me yesterday about how frustrated she was with the council” would be too much of a stretch because we are are putting some words in Marnie’s mouth, and these words might get her in trouble. 

Example 2: It would be okay to say “Tiffany just started ramble-singing to me about a topic I had never heard of” because Tiffany’s Info section tells us that sometimes she talks in a sing-song voice and she talks about obscure topics.

I have exciting news! Due to how many applications that we have received so quickly, the roleplay will be accepting and opening earlier than anticipated. 

First acceptances are Thursday, May 13 at about 8:30 PM Pacific time.

Additional acceptances will be Saturday, May 15 (should any further applications come in)

We plan to open the roleplay sometime on Sunday, May 16- timing to be determined.
