That book sounds like it might be a gold mine for my neurodivergent brain!
His approach tends to try making it all more comprehensible and intuitive in a similar approach to my own - hopefully, my attention span will allow at least a tiny bit of focus to digest it without an overload of euphoric enthusiasm - (my must my brain absorb and dissect every information like that?) I look forward to indulging deeper in that book. I found the free pdf online https://umv.science.upjs.sk/hutnik/NeedhamVCA.pdf
(But I seriously need a print version to at least allow the haptic feedback of a physical version enhance my attention span by at least a tiny degree. - Why have good books to be so expensive.... I wish I were rich, so I could afford all the books I need to learn about what the world holds together in its innermost (referring to Goethe here...) )

24 books in 2024
Thanks so much for the tag @peregrination-studies <3
Yup, I know I'm late late but shhhhh. Loved planning 24 books for the year and I'm actually pretty hyped after doing this. Yes, I know we're in April and 2-3 books a month might be too much but let a girl dream!
Math books:
1. Geometria Diferencial para Físicos - Antônio S. T. Pires (30% done) 2. Visual Differential Geometry and Forms - Tristan Needham (5% done)
Poetry:
3. Vozes da Saudade - Fernando Pessoa 4. Claro Enígma - Carlos Drummond de Andrade
Latinos:
5. Pedagogia do Oprimido (Pedagogy of the Opressed) - Paulo Freire 6. Pedro Páramo - Juan Rulfo 7. Cien Años de Soledad (One Hundred Years of Solitude) - Gabriel Garía Márquez 8. Futuro Ancestral (Ancestral Future) - Ailton Krenak 9. Feminismo em Comum - Márcia Tiburi 10. Eu escutei as batidas do seu coração - Pat Kamei (done)
Miscellaneous:
11. Madame Bovary - Gustave Flaubert (75% done) 12. The Metamorphosis and Other Stories - Franz Kafka 13. Reportagens - Joe Saco 14. Mayombe - Pepetela 15. Hegemony and Survival - Noam Chomsky 16. Dracula - Bram Stokes 17. Tuareg - Alberto Vazquez Figueroa 18. Internacionalism or Extinction - Noam Chomsky
Don't have them yet:
19. The Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux 20. Animal Farm - George Orwell 21. 1984 - George Orwell 22. Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson 23. Suicide - Edouard Levé 24. Freedom is a Constant Struggle - Angela Davis
Honorary mentions:
We don't really read physics books front-to-back but this year I'll focus a lot of my energy reading: - Quantum Mechanics: A Modern Development by Ballentine (2 chapters done) - Magnetohydrodynamic Turbulence by Biskamp - Hydrodynamic and Hydromagnetic Stability by Chandrasekhar - High-Evergy Astrophysics by Jorge Ernesto Horvath - Lots and lots of papers, including an 81pgs review of magnetic fields by Fan and at least 4 articles from Gilman I also didn't include the ridiculous amount of comics I read regularly here but the comic book goal of the year is to read Deadly Class by Rick Remender from start to finish (that's 56 issues + extra content). I'll probably read this in one go during my December uni break kkkkk
No pressure tagging: @lefthoundnerdskeleton and anyone else who wants to :)

Lunar Codex
I am privileged to share that mention of and images of my work have been included in the Lunar Codex.
The Lunar Codex is the passion project of physicist, entrepreneur, and storyteller Samuel Peralta, who alongside NASA’s Artemis Program has placed a record of contemporary creative works from “35,000 artists, writers, musicians, and filmmakers, representing 234 countries, territories, and Indigenous nations, in time capsules launching from Earth to the Moon and beyond.” *
Read more about the Lunar Codex here.
My work was included in two issues of magazines that have been gathered into the the Lunar Codex using digital and analog technology:

from aleph nought’s pure mathematics self study video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo-alw2q-BU the video itself. let’s see if it sticks around.
the first thing, fredrich schuller’s lectures on differential geometry and topology, are what he especially recommends as a base familiarization.
“This video has a list of books, videos, and exercises that goes through the American undergraduate pure mathematics curriculum from start to finish. --- LINKS: Watch this for a flavor of what pure mathematics is like: (Fredrich Schuller’s Lectures on Differential Geometry and Topology)

"Burning Man is a huge part of our lives, and to complete our story out there was an obvious choice." Cell phones don't really work in the desert, Rubenacker said, so a wedding at Burning Man requires coordination. Bush is being laid to rest, his service dog Sully is among those mourning the 94-year-old's death. Sunday night, family spokesman Jim McGrath shared a photo of the yellow Labrador retriever sleeping benext to Bush's casket. He wrote, "Mission complete." Sully was appointed to the 41st president in June. At the time, Bush welcomed Sully, from nonprofit America's VetDogs, as a "member of the family" who was "beautifully trained." Since then, the dog accompanied Bush nearly everywhere, even the voting booth during the November midterm election. Sully will go on to work alongside other service dogs helping wounded soldiers and active duty personnel at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's Facility Dog Program, according to America's VetDogs. Read the full article Hoping to see Robin: The loss that changed Bush Hoping to see Robin: The loss that changed Bush SUSAN PAGE | USA TODAY UPDATED 13 HOURS AGO Late in his life, George H.W. Bush pondered just who he would want to see first in heaven. The nation's 41st president took the question posed by granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager in an interview for NBC’s "Today" seriously, turning it over in his mind. If Barbara Bush, his wife of seven decades, died before he did, he would want to start with her, he decided. And the mother he adored, Dorothy Walker Bush. And Robin. He had a picture in his mind’s eye of how he hoped his daughter would appear to him – as the chubby, vivacious 3-year-old she had been before she was diagnosed with leukemia in 1953. Until that day, he had never heard of the disease that would kill her six months later. The illness and death of Pauline Robinson Bush would be threaded through the life of her father and her mother. The experience taught them a terrible lesson about the ways the innocent can be caught and crushed by life's unfairness. It left a stamp about what matters, and what doesn’t. It fueled George Bush's determination to do something big in life, beyond the oil business he was building in Texas. After he became president decades later, it helped shape his policies toward the epidemic of HIV/AIDS. EST DEC. 3, 2018 SAN FRANCISCO – Family history DNA tests are pegged to be hugely popular gifts this Christmas – but are they worth it if you're one of the 30 percent or so of Americans with ancestors who didn't come from Europe? Today, the answer is a qualified maybe. People of color generally aren't going to get the same specificity of ethnicity estimates as white Americans, though the results are slowly getting more precise for those with ancestors from Africa, Asia and the Americas. Even so, experts suggest collecting DNA from your oldest relatives now, wherever they come from, because one day it's going to be a genealogical gold mine. Kalani Mondoy, whose family is part native Hawaiian, ran straight into that particular brick wall when trying to track his mother’s side of the family. Paper records didn't get him very far. “In the case of Hawaiians, it’s a lot of oral history. The documentation came later,” he said from Los Angeles where he works as a tax consultant. He next turned to a genealogical DNA test, which was less helpful than he'd hoped. If You Love Bougainvillea, You Need To See Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii
As a wedding blogger, you probably wouldn't guess that I came thisss close to an elopement. I think there's something kind of special about focusing on your big wedding priorities and putting all of your effort on those few things. For me, it was dress, flowers and scenery/venue, which happen to be the three things that I love most about this shoot from Stella Yang, Manna Sun Events, Tristan Needham Design, Designs by Hemingway and By Design Films. It proves that a few details done right and gorgeous photography are equally as pretty as a full shindig dressed to the nines. Romantic Elopement Inspiration at Lowndes Grove Plantation
Today’s beautiful styled shoot mixes traditional elegance with a hint or glamour and a whole lot of romance. Perfect for a modern, romantic elopement or intimate wedding, these styling ideas really capture the imagination.
The imposing mansion of Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston, USA, is the backdrop for these fairytale ideas. Within this refined setting the scenic beauty of the Lowcountry unfolds with panoramic views along the waterfront.
The florals are the focal delight of the table styling. Pretty blush, pink and peach flowers help create an intimate feel to the tablescape. The free-form arrangements sit upon delicately draped, flowing table linen, laid with classic plates with matching napkins. Taper candles in gold candle stick holders finish the charming look perfectly.
The floral table arrangements coordinate delightfully with the bride’s posy style bouquet. Her style is very elegant, yet relaxed, with a chic white wedding dress from BHLDN worn with a romantic long flowing cape.
If you dream of eloping to far away shores with the one you love, then I hope you fall in love with these romantic styling ideas by Tristan Needham Design, captured by Carlos Hernandez Photography.
Intimate Environment
“Carlos and I met a couple years back at another workshop, and knew it would be fun to collaborate again. Carlos wanted to travel to the south east, so we decided to take the plunge and shoot for a small/intimate workshop environment.
“We chose a venue that was inherently southern, yet had the potential to photograph with a fresh and new modern eye. Lowndes Grove was the perfect fit, not only for it’s stately architecture and lush marsh view, but also for the kind demeanour the folks at Patrick Properties have shown me over the years.
“Soon after choosing a date, we compiled a team of amazing vendors who are leaders of their craft. The warmth and camaraderie from the day I think shows through in the photos, and Carlos and I could not be happier with how smoothly the day ran.”

It proves that a few details done right and gorgeous photography are equally as pretty as a full shindig dressed to the nines.
