Oh heck yeah. The bony fingers were teased before on patreon with the soundtrack, but now it's public in this awesome poster! I suspect that Jack keeps the gloves on because he doesn't want to attract the skeleton fanatics that will just use him as a substitute for Sans. He just wants his sunshine's love, not to be a replacement for tumblr's twitter-voted sexyman after all.

Okay, okay, but seriously, this is so cool. This would be a good reason why Jack keeps his gloves on if he can't seem totally real and human... at least not right away. As a recent ask from the official tumblr mentioned... the closer Jack is to his sunshine, the more he can touch and interact with... and probably the more real he becomes...

The funny thing to me is that I never expected the gloves to be a detail that would guarantee that Sunshine in Hell's canon is divergent from the game, but here we are.

Then again... if Jack is more real the closer he is to his sunshine... if he has a literal piece of his sunshine's soul in him and vice-versa, well... you don't get much closer than that, do you?

Not to mention Alice decided to err on the side of Jack being a real person from day one, including wanting to make sure he got food and a place to sleep, sooooo... I guess my MC is fast tracking making Jack real.

Good thing Sunshine in Hell will have a happy ending, right?

One of the scenes that I again felt was incredibly lovely in Episode 9 is the one between Stede and Ed sitting on the beach. It's very quiet and intimate, and the kiss happens, which doesn't come out of nowhere given the mood of the scene, but almost takes both characters a little by surprise. What did you want to capture most about that moment in playing it with Taika, and was there anything that you decided to bring to it apart from what David [Jenkins] had on the page?

DARBY: I wanted to make sure that the audience knew that Stede didn't really know what love was and hadn't really expected a kiss or anything like that. He was very naive to it all but was just on this rollercoaster because he enjoyed every minute of it, and he didn't know where it was going to end. I think he expected, in some ways, for Blackbeard or Ed to take the lead — which he has, in most of the things we've done on board. He's the experienced pirate, and Stede tried to give his own 10 cents by helping out with gentlemanly things and the use of cutlery and wearing fine fabrics and things like that. But there was certainly a lack of confidence in the area of... I think that's probably the same for both of them, with love.

I really could come down to either of them probably taking that next step and just touching each other in that way. But it just so happened to be Ed, because Ed felt invigorated. He felt like he had finally let go of the persona of Blackbeard, the evil side of him. Once the beard came off and everything, he's like some dashing guy from the Mills & Boon — you probably don't know what those books are.

I do, the romance novels.

DARBY: The romance novels. Yeah. So he is sitting there, but he's certainly more at ease, you can see that. Because Stede isn't. Stede's realizing that he has possibly screwed everything up and that they're going to die, and I think he's got a lot more going on in his head, and you can see that when they do the kiss. Then Ed walks away, [and] there's just this really puzzled look on Stede's face where he's taking that in, but he's taking so many other things in at the same time, which are: Is this the end? What do I do here? Have I done the right thing? Yeah. But I think I hopefully played that right.

Since it's been a while since we last did this, here's a definition of tumblr sexyman:

A male character who goes viral on Tumblr for perceived attractiveness based on an established formula. Usually white, tall, dresses fancy and is evil or has a ‘dark side.’ - Urban Dictionary

Usually here on the hermits-that-craft blog, we divorce ourselves from that definition and just go with a general 'evil is hot' definition. However, character Dream makes me uncomfortable, so we're going to do two different versions.

IRL Dream is a tiktok and twitter sexyman, but not a tumblr sexyman. I would consider being a tiktok and twitter sexyman worse than being a tumblr sexyman. IRL Dream seems like a decent human being, I won't comment any further than that. Gives me strong 'eggs benedict cucumber' vibes.

C!Dream is a tumblr sexyman, alongside being a twitter and tiktok sexyman. I will not get into detail about the latter pair, but I will get into detail about the former.

From this point forward, this conversation is about C!Dream, without anything to do with IRL/CC!Dream.

C!Dream has a unique position within his fandom as he is polarised as either 'evil and unforgivable' or 'he was in the right' by the fans. Some will be absolutely horrified to discover that I have decided that he's a tumblr sexyman, but here's my reasoning.

1. He fits the criteria from the urban dictionary definition of tumblr sexyman (white, tall, evil, although he doesn't dress fancy)

2. he fits the definition i went with during the start of the tumblr sexyman saga. (evil is hot)

3. I have seen fanart of him within the past few months.

Even if the fans dislike, hate or despise Dream, I have not found a single design for him that is not 'hot'. He's a green blob, and while some people draw him as such, the human version is always a solid 8 out of 10.

This concludes my reasoning. I guess the sexyman saga is now open to DSMP characters.
