20 Ayudas programa FTEC-Spanish Traineeship Programme, CIEMAT.
Convocatoria de becas de especialización del programa FTEC-Spanish Traineeship Programme para jóvenes profesionales científicos y tecnólogos, destinados en el Laboratorio Europeo de Investigación Nuclear, CERN, (Ginebra, Suiza), en tecnologías de grandes aceleradores de partículas, detectores e infraestructuras asociadas.
La duración de la ayuda será de un año a partir del momento en que administrativamente se dé comienzo el programa, pudiéndose prorrogar durante un año más en función de los resultados técnicos, el rendimiento y la actitud del candidato seleccionado, supeditado a la dotación presupuestaria del programa.
Cada beneficiario tendrá un tutor en el CERN y será asignado a un grupo de esta institución, en el cual desarrollará su actividad en coordinación, seguimiento y supervisión de los responsables del programa.
Para optar deberán cumplir los siguientes requisitos:
Nacionalidad española o de cualquiera de los Estados miembros de la UE. Los extranjeros deberán acompañar a su solicitud documento que acredite las condiciones alegadas.
Estar en posesión dle título de Máster en Ingeniería, Física Aplicada o titulaciones equivalentes que comprendan una formación académica en las áreas temáticas de la convocatoria. No se admitirán los títulos de grado o ingeniería técnica.
No haber transcurrido, en el momento de la publicación de la convocatoria, más de 4 años desde la obtención del título.
Poseer la capacidad funcional necesaria para el desempeño de las tareas.
Buen nivel del idioma inglés, que se acreditará mediante una entrevista.
No haber tenido una relación laboral previamente con el CERN por un periodo acumulativo superior a 14 meses.
No haber sido separado, mediante expediente disciplinario, del servicio de cualquiera de las administraciones públicas.

The United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) offers students with a demonstrated interest and background in regional integration studies the opportunity to take part in the activities of the Institute. Traineeships and Internships are respectively intended for undergraduate and graduate students.
Traineeship Programme
Applicants must:
Be enrolled in a Bachelor programme or holder of a Bachelor degree;
Demonstrate a strong interest in regional integration studies and specifically in the aspects related to the Monitoring and Supervision of Regional Integration processes;
Be eager to contribute to the research projects and activities of the Institute;
Thrive under pressure and be able to act quickly and efficiently;
Possess excellent English communicating and writing skills;
Be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite;
Be available for a minimum duration of three months up to a maximum of six months.
Trainees’ Responsibilities
Traineeship positions fall under the research programme Monitoring and Assessing Regional Integration. Traineeship projects consist in working on the Regional Integration Knowledge System (RIKS). In a nutshell, the RIKS platform provides direct access to information and data on regional integration processes worldwide.
The duties of UNU-CRIS Trainees involve:
Update of the RIKS database and other research tasks related to the Monitoring and Assessing Regional Integration research programme;
Assistance in administrative and other tasks, as needed;
Presentation of the work performed during the research stay at one of the research brunches, which are informal gatherings bringing together UNU-CRIS researchers.
Internship Programme
Applicants must:
Be enrolled in a Master programme or holder of a Master degree;
Demonstrate a strong interest in regional integration studies and specifically in one of the research programmes of the Institute, namely:
The Role of Regions in Global Governance
Monitoring Regional Integration
The UN and Public Regional Goods
Be eager to contribute to the research projects and activities of the Institute;
Thrive under pressure and be able to act quickly and efficiently;
Possess excellent English communicating and writing skills;
Be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite;
Be available for a minimum duration of three months up to a maximum of six months.
Interns’ Responsibilities
The duties of UNU-CRIS Interns involve:
Research tasks related to the research programme of interest based on the needs of the supervisor and on the ongoing projects and research activities at the time of the internship;
Assistance in administrative and other tasks, as needed;
Presentation of the work performed during the research stay at one of the research brunches, which are informal gatherings bringing together UNU-CRIS researchers.
Besides, interns are welcome to take part in seminars, workshops, conferences and other events organised by UNU-CRIS, including informal briefings and roundtable discussions.
Facilities and Services
Office space, computer facilities and access to the libraries of UNU-CRIS and the College of Europe are provided.
While traineeships and internship are non-remunerated, travel costs incurred by the attendance of any UNU-CRIS related events are reimbursed.
In addition, Bruges’ favourable location close to Brussels provides direct access to the seat of the European Union and other international organisations, as well as a number of universities and research centres based in the Belgian capital.
Although admitted candidates are required to arrange their own travel, housing and health insurance, UNU-CRIS will provide advice and support to help facilitate the search process.
Application Procedure
Bachelor students and holders of a Bachelor degree shall apply to the Traineeship Programme.
Master students and holders of a Master degree shall apply to the Internship Programme.
The next deadline for applications is 15 May 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted at the end of May 2017 or in the beginning of June 2017 at the latest.
Interested candidates shall submit their application to Mr. Ewout Ramon.

A letter of motivation (mentioning the expected period of stay);
A letter of recommendation.

Tener nacionalidad española o de cualquiera de los Estados miembros de la Unión Europea. Los extranjeros deberán acompañar a su solicitud, documento que acredite las condiciones que se alegan.
Estar en posesión del Título de Máster en Ingeniería, Física Aplicada o titulaciones equivalentes que comprendan una formación académica en las áreas temáticas de la convocatoria. No se admitirá los títulos de grado o ingeniería técnica.
No haber transcurrido, en el momento de la publicación de esta convocatoria, más de cuatro años desde la obtención del título universitario requerido. Se considerarán excepciones a este criterio en el caso particular de doctores o doctorandos.

Buen nivel del idioma inglés, que se acreditará mediante una entrevista en este idioma con los gestores del Programa y/o asesores del CERN. El umbral a partir del cual se considerará al candidato apto respecto a este requisito es ser capaz de mantener una entrevista técnica en inglés con el tutor del proyecto sobre sus capacidades, méritos, objetivos y tareas del puesto al que aplique, a valoración del tutor del puesto.
No haber tenido una relación laboral previamente con el CERN por un periodo acumulativo superior a 14 meses.
No haber sido separado, mediante expediente disciplinario, del servicio de cualquiera de las Administraciones Públicas o de los órganos constitucionales o estatutarios de las Comunidades Autónomas, ni hallarse en inhabilitación absoluta o especial para empleos o cargos públicos por resolución judicial firme, o para ejercer funciones similares a las que desempeñaban, en el caso del personal laboral, en el que hubiese sido separado o inhabilitado.

Typical responsibilities: The EHS apprentice will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of the EHS management systems, and associated activities, in line with corporate, internal, legal and international industry standards. * Adhere to, and promote, all required health, safety and welfare policies that are established by the company. * Support in maintaining the companies ISO 14001 (environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety), approved management systems. * Support in third party, and Sapa group site audits and inspections. * Provide support and advice to team members on EHS and management system issues. * Conduct internal audits and inspections of manufacturing processes and business departments and resolution tracking. * Involvement in continual improvement initiatives on manufacturing and business processes, in EHS management with the ultimate aim of improved EHS performance. * Develop and maintain procedures for EHS management, and supporting the planning and implementation process. * Administration of computer and database systems, including maintenance of records and preparation of documents for issue. * Support and participate in EHS activities, including risk identification and management. Qualifications required Although full training will be given the following basic skills would be beneficial: * 2 A Level's or equivalent at A-C or equivalent grades (incl. science) * Good English skills both orally and written * High level of MS Office and IT competence Personal qualities * Ability to deal with pressure * Adaptability * Commitment * Common sense * Enthusiasm * Loyalty * Motivation * Personal Presentation * Reliability * Good interpersonal skills * Interested in pursuing a career in for EHS and business management systems Work experience * Workplace experience desirable, but not essential. * Appreciation and some understanding of the aluminium re-melt and extrusion and/or manufacturing industry desirable but not essential. Additional information This job could involve travel to other UK sites on occasion. Additional details Hours: 40 Hours per week. Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm with ½ hour for lunch Salary: £7.50 per hour Holidays: 27 days holiday + 8 days for bank holidays. Statutory shutdown periods in the Summer and at Christmas.
