Can someone out there please explain why being a kpop stan is so stressful? Like you think you know where you are in terms of album collecting and photocard collecting and then just when you have got your head around one album release, the group announce their comeback or one of the members releases a solo album!!!!

And then it becomes time for members to go to the military which triggers my emotions to no end to the point of I am counting the days on my calendar until they return………

In other words being a kpop Stan is a rollercoaster of emotions but I would not change it for anything in the world and I am excited for what the rest of 2023 brings for kpop.

I am so glad to have a blog dedicated to my fandoms which now includes kpop and I hope there is someone out there who can relate to the rollercoaster of being a fangirl as I know I am not the only one who is experiencing this

one positive thing i took away from the plagiarism hbomb was that young people are curious and willing to engage with complex cultural analysis done at an academic level! james somerton's following skewed young and gay, and i doubt all of them were college students. of those who were college students, i doubt all of them were majoring in literature or sociology. so his level of success in stealing cultural criticism and gay history from actual academics (among others!) means, to me, that if you just take that same genuinely meaningful and complex content and wrap it the non-intimidating packaging of a youtube video, there are many people who are downright eager to learn! they were out here PAYING for it too! in a time when the attention span of The Youths™ is a subject of concern in conversations of The Olds, this has to be a good thing.
