Day 4: Came Back Wrong
Agh, late again oops, this is a pretty experimental fic for this prompt
The following archives come from the recordings of Doctor Madelyn Fenton, made on the occasion of scientific discovery.
Of the nearly 400 recordings uploaded to the archived server, dated from as early as 1984 to the previous three months of this report, we have isolated 5 recordings in particular for the consideration of the board. Additionally, we have a recording captured by two agents out on the field using experimental technology.
Log #204
Date: March 20th, 2004
The recording clicks on, followed by a beat of silence, although not total silence. Before the clear, albeit slightly grainy voice of Dr Fenton cuts through it in practiced ease, the sound of faint laughter can be heard, muffled through the walls of the basement.
“This is Dr. Madelyn Fenton, log number 204, March 20th, o’4. I’ll apologize in advance to whoever is listening back through these logs for our report, the kids are still pretty excited even after the party.” A slight laugh, though a bit exasperated.
“It’s incredible to think about how long it’s been, we started this before even Jazz was born and now look at us, Danny’s just turned 14, Jazz is already looking to go to college, and we’ve finally gotten a far more stable version of the Portal nearly done, oh I’m getting sentimental, my apologies.”
Another beat of silence.
“As I went over in detail in the last recording, we’ve been able to get the structure of the Portal constructed, Jack’s welding job is holding strong as usual and we double and triple checked the math. The whole thing looks a bit of a mess at the moment, but that’s to be expected, we can’t put most of the power connectors into the lining of the Portal wall until we can secure the generator from our agreement with the university.”
Tap tap tap
“...Cut tape here.” Another beat of silence, a sigh. “I’m not sure I understand why they keep dragging their feet about our contract, we should’ve been given the generator a month ago to start doing diagnostics, and we can’t start without them! At this point I’m starting to worry they’re planning to back out of our agreement, which could set us back months, even years! Jack is insisting that they wouldn’t, but I’m not sure that’s not just his old school pride getting the better of him.” A shuffle, and the sound of a metal drawer opening makes whatever else Dr Fenton says under her breath is lost to the microphone being moved.
“Jack says if they try anything funny we could just hook up to the city's power lines and piggybacking off it, but that comes with the risk of getting in trouble with the city again if something goes wrong, and that was difficult enough to deal with the first time.”
Tap tap tap
“Then again, if I’m right and the university is cutting their support, we can’t just twiddle our thumbs in hopes that someone else will pick up our project, we need something to present, suppose that we just try to switch it on briefly to prove our theory using the city's power? Could run less of a risk to knock out the whole city, but would it be stable enough to even give us something tangible? Something to think over, I’ll have to update my logs when I receive word back from the university.”
“Doctor Maddie Fenton signing off.”
According to our records, shortly after this was recorded the University of Wisconsin did in fact pull their funding and agreement of a prototype battery generator with FentonWorks, claiming that their location for their experiments were too close to civilian homes. The Fentons tried to appeal this by citing their research that the place they had chosen was due to the ectoplasmic radiation in the area, making it safer than a remote location.
This appeal was denied.
Our next tape is following this denial.
Log #206
Date: April 2nd, 2007
“This is Dr. Madelyn Fenton, log number 206, April 2nd of 2004. As of the last tape, we have gotten confirmation that our appeal has been denied-” “Cowards, all of them on the board-” “-Jack. Official recording, if you don’t mind.” “Sorry, Mads.” While not speaking into the microphone, the man’s voice over the recording was booming enough, even when he seemed to be quiet, that it was impossible not to hear him, meanwhile Maddie Fenton just sounded clipped and professional. Or at least to most bystanders she did, if you asked either of her children they would say she was pissed.
“Cut. This is Dr. Madelyn Fenton, log number 206, April 2nd of 2004. As of the last tape, we have gotten confirmation that our appeal has been denied and will be going forward with our backup plan.” “Love the backup plan!” “...Jack, would you mind getting out our video equipment?”
“I’ll take the hint!” Heavy steps fade away from the microphone and up the stairs presumably.
“Bless him, but that’s beside the point, we’ll be doing the test run tonight I suppose, I’ve talked to Jazz and Danny and their both out of the house for the weekend to we won’t have any distractions during this, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Danny ends up coming back tomorrow asking for more food money. Teenagers! I’ve seen the pizza boxes in the garbage, it’s a miracle that he and Tucker go through all that and still raid our ice cream after.”
BANG THUNK
“...Honey, are you ok?” The response is too far away to be heard clearly on the recording. “Is the camera ok?” a beat, then a muffled response again. “Well come the rest of the way down and I’ll take a look at it, how much do you have left to hook up back there?” The sound cuts completely.
There is a pause in the tape, when the sound resumes, it’s only the quiet background hum of an empty room.
“Continuation of the previous tape 206. Total failure.” Dr Fenton’s voice was monotone, exhausted even. “Nothing, everything wired together powerflow is positive, it’s been even the whole time, but nothing when we tried to close the circuit, just nothing. It could be an issue we can’t see right away, or there’s something wrong with the part of the power lines connected to Fentonworks, but it’s nothing we’ll be able to troubleshoot right away.” Another heavy sigh escapes her.
“Jack and I will being going up to my sister’s for the rest of the weekend, we already had it blocked off so I’m giving us our own vacation before we go back to find out what went wrong, we need fresh eyes on it and Jack needs to get some air before he decides to go through with taking it all apart and putting it back together again.”
“I don’t know what we’re going to do.”
Tap
A deep inhale of breath, the sound of papers being shuffled on a counter.
“End log 206.”
Our sources confirm that shortly after this, the Drs Fentons were tracked going as far as the land plot owned by Dr Madelyn Fenton’s sister, Alicia Walker. We also have confirmation that they did not return until April 4th, and upon arriving back at their residence we have the following tape recounting her perspective of the activated portal.
Traffic light cameras were able to capture Daniel Fenton, Samantha Mason, and Tucker Foley entering the empty residence at 4:35 pm on April 3rd.
The city would then experience a power surge at 5:13 pm.
Log #207
Date: April 4nd, 2007
“This is Dr. Madelyn Fenton. It’s on. Oh my God it’s really on.”
There’s a strange quality to the microphone now that wasn’t there before, a hum, not unlike an air conditioner, becomes white noise over the crackle that covers Dr Fenton’s words.
“We came back from Alicia’s and it was just… Working! Jack’s already acting like it’s christmas and part of me is wondering where to even start! I’m just stuck, I suppose, wondering what could have possibly triggered it, what could have kept it on. Ah, yes I suppose I’m getting ahead of myself, I’m a researcher first and foremost and while Jack’s happy to begin the experiments I still need to make sure we understand what we’re dealing with.”
She clears her throat, papers are shuffled behind the microphone and her tone turns serious as continues.
“Jazz called us last night from urgent care, apparently Danny and his friends came over yesterday and it turned on while they were there. The three of them have since been insisting that Danny had just fell down the stairs when the power cut and hit his head, but I’m not sure I’m buying it. Not that there’s much else I could know without any of them admitting to what really happened, the camera footage is unusable, static and noise and I’m not sure if it’s because of the Portal opening or because Jack dropped it the other day.”
“We had to drive overnight to get back here this morning and I could hardly believe my eyes, you’ll have plenty of footage to pull from for the Portal itself, Jack’s been doing nothing but fill our camera memory with anything he can get a clear shot of. Not that there’s much we can do about the interior, the Portal entrance goes right up to the frame for it which luckily means we were successful in containing it.”
“When we got home last night we were prepared to turn it back off once we got our initial readings but it’s to our great surprise that the portal seems to sustain itself, even after disconnecting it to the power grid, it’s still here. I’m not sure what to make of that yet, but Jack says the doors he’s made should keep out anything that decides to venture through the Portal into our side, but I’d like to have a proper off switch in any case.”
“Maddie come quick!” Jack’s booming voice is covered in a heavy layer of static, and even when Madelyn responds, it too can barely be heard over it.
“-ming Jack, end log 207…”
Log #316
Date: September 7th, 2008
“This is Dr. Madelyn Fenton, log number, oh it must be either 316 or 320 something, the subject that calls itself Technus completely scrambled our systems in the basement yesterday, it’ll take weeks to get everything sorted again.” a groan, the sound of something hitting something metal with a soft thunk. “It feels like everythings been going against us for the last six months, no progress on capturing Phantom, Vlad’s been worse than ever and these days it feels like every two bit ghost hunter wants a bit of the action. Most of them don’t even have the proper tools to capture ghosts, or restrain or affect them in any way, at least the local civilians know better than to try yelling mish-mashed gibberish at them!” Another sigh. “Not that we’ve been much better lately, version 3 of the Ectocurrent taser was as big a failure as its predecessors and with the same pattern too, we test and tinker and get it working in the lab, verify it works in the lab, only for it to be completely unresponsive the moment we finish charging it and take it out to use the next day. It’s gotten to the point that Jack slept down in the basement to make sure no ghost was sneaking in to break the thing, not that just any ghost would be able to understand the technology in the first place, but I digress, he said nothing all night! We might want to just take it out the moment it starts working again and hoping it lasts long enough to be useful against that menace Phan-”
“----” There is no voice on the recording
“Oh, one moment- Something up sweetheart?” Dr Fenton calls, voice turning softer away from the microphone.
“--- ------ ----- -- --- ------ -------- --- --- ----- ---- -- -------- --- --- ----- -- ----” This is not to say there is no sound. “Oh hun I completely forgot, crap, sorry Danny I’ll have to schedule an appointment for you and your sister, is that ok?”
“--- ----- -- ---- --- ---- ------ - ---- --- --- --- -- --- --- ---- ---- ----- -- - ------ ---------- ---- ------- ------ -------” The the noise that was once the ambiance of the basement seems intensified, a one-sided conversation with something.
“You know we just had that ghost attack our systems here, it’s gonna take longer than the weekend to find our copies so we’ll just get it done now. I’m sure you’ll still have time for your friend’s game-”
“--- ----” Let it be noted that listeners to this tape expressed a taste of iron on the tongue during this segment. “No buts! Your sister is due for one more before she gets kicked out for being too old, come on Danny it’s just a physical.” There’s stomping going up the stairs to the basement, then the slam of a door.
“... Teenagers, scarier than ghosts I swear. Anyway, I’ll just cut this here and hopefully we’ll have better luck tomorrow. End log 316.”
Log #PRIV4
Date: September 13th, 2008
“... Private log of Madelyn Fenton, if someone else is listening to this, stop and put it away, any and all other tapes for our research are available for investigation and with any luck I’ll remember to wipe this from our records later. I just-” She cuts herself off, a heavy sniff to steady her voice as it wavers.
“I just need to get my thoughts out.” The next pause is longer, as if the woman considers if she wants to go through with the recording.
“Danny and Jazz’s pediatrician called the day they got seen, she said that Danny-” another pause. “-That Danny was showing some alarming results on his tests. They said his body temperature was colder than it should have been, and his heartbeat was coming back as abnormal and they’re afraid of a heart murmur-” There is a single, heavy sob that bursts from the woman, muttered curses spilling from her.
“They said that it might’ve been something they missed when he originally came in last year for his accident and when I asked how hitting his head could’ve done something to his heart they said it wasn’t- God, I’m such an idiot, I said it too I just wasn’t thinking about it, we both were! He seemed fine! He’s always seemed fine, how could we have just not noticed he was electrocuted? Because it’s not possible!”
“It’s not possible.” tap tap tap
Pause
Click click click click
“It’s not possible, it isn’t and I shouldn’t be even thinking about it but I’ve been sitting on my hands since the call and they’ve double and triple checked their tests and they want Danny in again for an MRI but I haven’t even seen him since the appointment so I haven’t been able to tell him the results! It’s like he’s been avoiding coming home and I’ve been trying to figure out why, but in the meantime I couldn't help thinking back to when the Portal opened. About Danny’s accident.”
“I found my log from the day, and I said it then too, I didn’t believe he fell down the stairs but what else could it be? Did he try to turn it on again? It’s a nice thought but if anyone got shocked by anything when it was powering on would be dead as a doornail-”
Silence, then the tape cuts.
The following recording was captured by agents C and T. The ward would like to apologize for some of the language used in this segment.
Recording taken February 16th, 2009
“... It’s a filter, see? Just clicks over the microphone itself.”
“It’s huge is what it is, what’s even the point?”
“Testing a hypothesis, ghosts speak at a wavelength that makes it next to impossible to document them.”
“So? It’s not like we really care what they’re talking about, just that they’re there.”
“Yeah well that’s the hypothesis, if ghosts are nearby talking at a frequency that not even we can hear, we could possibly hear them through the recordings.”
“Still sounds useless.”
“You’re useless.”
“Fuck off- Ghost octopus!”
“Yeah the 20th one we’ve seen today- Oh wow.”
“Yeah that’s a lot. Do’ya think we’re gonna get a nasty one?”
“Not sure, but I think I’m already seeing Phantom out there.”
“Don’t like how close it’s getting, think we should move roofs?”
“Oh yeah, very ghost chasers of you.”
“Not our job to capture the thing! Research department, it’s on my badge!”
“Perfect opportunity to use the filter then, HEY PHANTOM!”
“Shit- What do you think you’re doing?”
“Research. PHANTOM OVER HERE!”
“Oh my god he’s coming over.”
Crack pop
“Ancients, not you guys again- GIVE IT A REST YOU WEIRDO GOVERNMENT AGENTS.”
“PHANTOM DO YOU HAVE ANY COMMENT ON THE HORDE OF GHOST OCTOPI YOU HAVE UNLEASHED ON THIS TOWN?”
“Dude I don’t think he did-”
“Sh-sh-shut the fuck up C- ANY COMMENT PHANTOM?”
“Are you two seriously trying to record this? It’s not gonna work.”
“HA HA YEAH JUST HUMOR US.”
“Oh- oh! YES AND IF YOU COULD JUST TALK IN A WAVELENGTH THAT IS NOT NORMALLY AUDIBLE TO HUMAN HEARING THAT WOULD ALSO BE NIC- ow!”
“Idiot!”
Buzzzz crackle
“Yeah, I think I gotta go! Get off the roof before I call the fire department! Bye!”
The hum subsides, and is gone.
“Sorry T…”
“Whatever, hopefully we got enough, let's head back to base.”
The voice recording of the subject known as Phantom matches with the recordings taken from the Fenton logs before the opening of the Portal, the additional evidence of later voice recordings add to the conclusion that these two are one in the same, and under captivity we’ve gotten further confirmation of this fact.
We are under agreement to mention that the ward is still in legal battle with Fentonworks for the acquisition of Phantom, however we are assured that by the evidence of these logs the Ghost Investigation Ward will have the upper hand in this negotiation. Additionally, we’ve been able to get our hands on the physical notes for Daniel Fenton, and everything matches up with the original 2007 tests, with no further notable changes than what was confirmed by Madelyn Fenton. It’s from our doctor's perspective that the transformation that Phantom undergoes to become Fenton once more has had the adverse consequence of not letting the host age.
We would like to use this knowledge to its fullest potential.

Trying all these old consoles out again is bringing back memories though... when I was at home as a kid I usually played the green Game Boy with one of those "universal" power supplies with all the barrel-shaped connectors, so I wouldn't end up with dead batteries all the time (and ask my parents for them, which would mean getting frowns). The cable of that power supply was hilariously short so I had to play sitting on a kitchen chair backed against the wall next to the stove, angled a certain way to get maximum light from the kitchen window (again, no backlight on Game Boys!)
Anyway, once I forgot to take out the batteries when I plugged in the GB to the power supply, and after a while my hands started getting damp, which is not an unusual situation if you're playing a tough section. I wiped them on my clothes, but they were weirdly sticky, and it wasn't working. So, being a bit of a slob and not wanting to stop playing, I licked the palm of my left hand to get the stickiness out and suddenly my tongue was ON FIRE like I'd eaten a really concentrated lemon. After a few moments of 'what the hell is going on' the burning started getting really concerning so I went to wash my mouth with a toothbrush and all. When I went back to the kitchen I saw that the whole back cover of the battery compartment of the Game Boy was equally sticky and wet and the batteries were the source of it, so I hastily threw the evidence of my misdeeds away. That was my first experience of batteries catastrophically leaking, and I don't think I ever told my parents about almost swallowing battery acid because I dimly realized I'd really fucked up lol

My review of a warehouse I found on Earth's Moon in the video game Starfield
I work at a cidery in the PNW. We have a pretty hefty canning line that can handle what I like to call a Solid Chunk of Volumetric Output. Our fulfillment and warehouse team touches several hundred pallets a day. We handle ingredients that come in drums, plastic IBC totes, 5 gallon buckets, and raw ingredients off the back of people’s Ford Raptors. We have pipes and valves and connectors. We talk about glycol and peracetic acid a lot. We have standard 4 level pallet racks, as well as push-back pallet racking and back-load pallet racking that maintains a First In First Out order.
I manage our Quality Assurance team, which means I spend most of my team at a desk or in a lab. I have driven our forklifts and our scissor lifts. I’ve blended our ingredients into our batching tanks. I verify our sanitation practices, and I help solve problems as needed. I spend a lot of my day staring at stainless steel pipes and mumbling about dissolved oxygen to myself.
That’s all to say, I’m not an expert. I would call myself a warehouse hobbyist and enthusiast. Not out loud to anyone, but when I play a video game that has a warehouse in it, I like to spend my time looking at how the warehouse is put together.
In addition to this, a note on Forklift Certification: It’s largely made up. There are some machines that require special licenses, and OSHA has classes you can take that probably look good on a resume, but if you look at the language that OSHA uses to define who is allowed to drive a forklift it only has two requirements. “Trained operators must know how to do the job properly and do it safely as demonstrated by workplace evaluation.” It’s up to the employer how that’s interpreted. My employer had me watch a forty five minute video and then someone watched as I drove around for thirty minutes saying “oh fuck oh fuck okay okay okay don’t hit anyone.”
I took my character, Dr. FLIPJUMP DARKSWALLOW, to the moon. I brought my companion Sarah with me, she said she wouldn’t mind a detour so that we could finally live out our shared dream of owning a pair of moon boots, so down we went to explore a seemingly abandoned lunar station. It seemed to be some kind of staging facility for receiving shipments, landing dock, staff kitchen and common area, but as far as I could tell there wasn’t anywhere within a kilometer or two to send the shipments once they arrived. Typical supply chain issues, major distro hub with nothing in site to distro to. But it did have a small on-site warehouse so Sarah and I both agreed to put a pause on our moon boots dream and explore.
This is called an IBC tote. You can fill these up through a big screw-top hole on the top, super easy to use, cheap ($275 new), universal. The most common versions I’ve seen have a galvanized steel cage and a galvanized steel pallet attached to the bottom so it can be universally picked up by a forklift. They typically have a 2” drain valve with a butterfly and a camlock. This is a pretty good example of an IBC tote! You can see how the galvanized steel was welded together at each intersection, bent into place and held there. The butterfly at the bottom has a cap in place, it has a pressure valve that’s clearly labeled. This looks pretty good!
This is a pallet jack. On Earth in the present day, you roll it into the slats on a pallet, squeeze on a hand lever in the handle, and pump the handle bar up and down as it lifts. On the Moon in the future, it looks like it’s been upgraded for use in space with what I assume is probably some electric battery type of deal. Otherwise it’s very similar to a normal pallet jack! It even has the double wheels in the front, a detail I was very excited about. There doesn’t seem to be the hand lever though, or any buttons anywhere. I assume that’s because this model has a voice assistant like an Alexa in it.
It has a spring in the back as well, another neat little detail. I’d be curious to see how this works in action, there’s a decent number of mechanical parts on it for how futuristic it looks. There’s also two small… baskets, I guess? For paperwork maybe? On either end of the handle shaft. I made up the term handle shaft.
Here is what I assume is a future-forklift. And Sarah. Please ignore Sarah. I was required to take her on a mission early on, but she keeps saying things like “that’s not yours!” and “we should not break the law,” which has been definitely cramping Dr. DARKSWALLOW’s style. Anyway, this forklift is a far cry from the kinds we have in present day. Barely recognizable.
My best guess is that you stand on this platform to operate it. But there’s no buttons or levers again, no key ignition. Presumably this turns on somehow and that panel is a touchscreen, or maybe it’s another Alexa operated device. This whole thing seems pretty dangerous. There’s no roll cage. I guess maybe there’s no OSHA in the future? Or maybe this thing has a lot of safety tech built into it to protect the operator from making mistakes. Maybe it follows Asimov’s rules of robotics and can’t allow a human to come to harm, through action or inaction. But that seems like a lot of liability to pack into programming, and it seems expensive to attach a positronic brain to a forklift. I don’t know how it would anticipate other drivers doing things badly, knocking over pallets? It seems dicey.
I do like that the cabling looks like it’s painter’s taped onto the frame so it doesn’t get caught anywhere. That’s a great little detail, very much something a maintenance team might do in a pinch. A “short term hold” as they “work with supply chain details to implement a long term repair.”
I climbed up onto a pile of boxes to get this picture. It looks like they redesigned the forks in the future, kind of a high-heeled shoe thing going on at the ends there. And this forklift seems like it has reduced functionality from what forklifts here on Earth can do. Forklifts can usually do three things with the forks: lift up and down, pitch the forks back and forth, and spread the forks wider or narrower. I think this can only lift the forks up and down. There also seems to be a large orange ball on the bottom, but I don’t know what that’s used for. My best guess, given the short cylinder above it, is that the forks can control their yaw and rotate on a horizontal access? But they’re right up against the axle so I’m not sure how that would work. Maybe if you lift the forks up it’s able to rotate? But I don’t see much of an engine to ballast the center of gravity anywhere. Maybe the entire body is made with a very dense metal, it does seem to be pretty flush with the ground.
My biggest complaint is that this forklift doesn’t have any headlights or taillights. It’s important for forklifts to have a horn and bright lights to let other workers know there’s a forklift around, especially reverse lights. These might be taillights, if I’m giving some benefit here, but they’re so low to the ground I’m not sure how other drivers are going to be able to see them. But I’m not an expert in future light bulbs, maybe these work just fine.
These look like future pallets! Pallets come in different materials, with wood or plastic as the most common, but they also come in standard sizes. But these pallets look like they’re way too small for the forklift to pick up. Maybe they’re just for the pallet jack? And big note here: I really hope for the sake of the warehouse manager in this facility that OSHA doesn’t exist, because each one of those pallets standing up on its side is going to be its own fine. Overall these pallets look pretty good, if small. And this disaster of a pile seems pretty true to form with how pallets are stored, no matter how many @everyone pings on Microsoft Teams you see get sent out about stacking pallets correctly.
I suspect everyone in the warehouse crew here hates their coworkers. They have four of these pallets in a square but are stacking things randomly on top of them. None of these things are strapped down, this black cube is on a pallet that’s a different size than the pallets underneath it. Just a bizarre move. I hope everyone’s doing okay.
And then on the other side is this: … Why? Why would anyone do this? You can’t pick those rolls up, the rest will roll right off the pallet. They’re not centered on the pallet so even if you did pick it up, you couldn’t put this onto pallet racking anywhere, it’s hanging off the edge.
This is pallet racking. It seems bolted together for some reason. I haven’t seen that before on this style of racking. It seems counter-intuitive; the whole point of this type is that it’s easy to put together, it’s modular. But if you bolt it together, it’s not modular anymore. Normally you just slot the pieces in, they fall into place and don’t require additional parts. Just welded steel with drop slots.
Oof. A dead body. I’m a little surprised there aren’t more of these here. It does feel a bit dangerous.
Here’s another pallet jack, but they aren’t using it correctly. The pallet goes into the forks, why did they put a pallet on top of the forks? Ridiculous. Now they’re just lifting things for no reason. A forklift put the pallet on, now a forklift has to take the pallet off? Why use the pallet jack at all?
And lastly: a propane cage! There’s no locks on it, the maintenance team is probably screaming at everyone to make sure they Lock Out/Tag Out their equipment, but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and sign off on it because there’s no propane tanks inside the cage so maybe the locks just aren’t necessary. Hopefully it’s just in someone’s pocket while they’re going to refill the tanks.
Overall, this is a pretty dangerous looking facility but probably usable. I’d say they ought to start working towards shoring up some safety gaps here, maybe making more intentional decisions about purchases for a while so they have the equipment they need for their process flow instead of all this equipment that requires rework and multiple touches to get anything done. But a growing business sometimes has to take what’s available! Kudos to them for getting things up and running on the moon, not an easy feat.

Fast Charging Cable: A Game-Changer in Modern Smartphone Technology
In today's fast-paced world, where we rely heavily on our smartphones for everything from communication to entertainment, having a reliable and efficient charging solution is crucial. One of the most significant advancements in this area is the fast charging cable. If you're tired of waiting hours for your phone to reach full charge, investing in a fast charging cable can make a world of difference. At Sankarani Communication, we understand the importance of staying connected, and that's why we're here to discuss everything you need to know about fast charging cables and how they can revolutionize your charging experience.
What is Fast Charging?
Before diving into the importance of fast charging cables, it’s essential to understand what fast charging means. Fast charging refers to a technology that allows devices to charge at a faster rate compared to standard charging. Most smartphones today come with fast charging support, allowing users to power up their devices much quicker.
Traditional chargers typically deliver 5 watts (W) of power, whereas fast charging can deliver anywhere from 18W to 100W, depending on the charger and device. The higher the wattage, the faster the phone charges. However, to take full advantage of fast charging, you need both a compatible phone and the right accessories, including a fast charging cable.
How Does a Fast Charging Cable Work?
A fast charging cable is designed to handle higher power outputs compared to regular cables. The cable's ability to deliver more current and voltage directly impacts the charging speed. With fast charging, the charger sends more current through the cable into the device’s battery without generating excessive heat or damaging the battery, thanks to intelligent charging technology.
Here’s a simple breakdown of how it works:
Higher Current: Fast charging cables are built with thicker wires that can carry more current (amperes), typically up to 3A or higher.
Improved Voltage Regulation: Fast charging cables allow higher voltage transfers, enabling the charger to supply more power efficiently.
Efficient Data and Power Transfer: Some fast charging cables also support high-speed data transfer, allowing you to sync files quickly while charging your device.
Why Choose a Fast Charging Cable?
Save Time Time is of the essence, especially when you're on the go. With a fast charging cable, you can charge your smartphone up to 50% in as little as 30 minutes. Whether you're traveling or preparing for an important meeting, fast charging ensures you won’t be left waiting.
Compatibility with Modern Devices Most modern smartphones, including flagship models from Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus, support fast charging. Having a compatible fast charging cable ensures you can fully utilize your phone’s potential, keeping your battery topped up when needed.
Durability and Longevity Quality fast charging cables are made from durable materials like nylon-braided or reinforced connectors, making them more resistant to wear and tear. At Sankarani Communication, we offer cables that are designed to last, providing better value for your money.
Enhanced Safety Fast charging cables come with built-in safety features like overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuit protection. These features help prevent overheating and protect your device from potential damage during charging.
Universal Use Fast charging cables are compatible with a variety of devices beyond just smartphones. You can use them to charge tablets, laptops, and other gadgets that support fast charging, making them a versatile solution for all your charging needs.
Factors to Consider When Buying a Fast Charging Cable
When shopping for a fast charging cable at Sankarani Communication, keep the following factors in mind to ensure you get the best product:
Cable Length: Choose a length that fits your needs, whether it’s for home, office, or car use. Long cables are great for convenience, while shorter ones are ideal for portability.
Charging Speed: Ensure the cable supports the charging speed compatible with your device. Look for cables that offer up to 3A or higher for optimal fast charging performance.
Connector Type: Depending on your phone, you may need a USB-C, Lightning, or Micro-USB connector. USB-C is becoming the standard for most modern smartphones, while Lightning is specific to Apple devices.
Brand and Warranty: At Sankarani Communication, we provide high-quality, branded fast charging cables with warranty options for peace of mind.
Conclusion
A fast charging cable is more than just an accessory; it’s a necessity in today’s world where staying connected is vital. Whether you're looking to reduce charging times, enhance your smartphone's performance, or protect your device, a fast charging cable from Sankarani Communication is the solution you need. Why the 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Still Matters in a Wireless World
In an age where wireless gadgets and Bluetooth earphones dominate, one might think the iconic 3.5 mm headphone jack is nearing extinction. Yet, despite the growing trend of going wireless, this tiny port still holds a crucial place in the world of audio, mobile accessories, and tech connectivity. For those who appreciate versatility, durability, and uncompromised sound quality, the 3.5 mm audio jack continues to reign supreme.
Buy Micro Usb Data Cable
At Debock Infotech, we understand the power of choice. That’s why we continue to offer premium-quality accessories like Audio Jacks, OTG connectors, Data Cables, and USB Chargers — all designed for users who demand performance without compromise.
A Brief History of the 3.5 mm Headphone Jack
The 3.5 mm headphone jack, also known as a mini jack or TRS connector, dates back to the 1960s. Initially used in telephone switchboards, it evolved into a universal connector for headphones, microphones, and later, multimedia devices. This simple, cylindrical plug became the global standard for wired audio connections, owing to its ease of use, reliability, and widespread compatibility.
Even as newer formats like USB-C and Lightning take center stage, the 3.5 mm jack remains a reliable option across laptops, older smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles, audio systems, and more.
Why the 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Still Matters
1. Universal Compatibility
The 3.5 mm audio jack works with almost every audio device manufactured in the last few decades — from budget smartphones to high-end studio equipment. It doesn’t discriminate between brands or platforms. Plug it into a laptop, car stereo, or speaker system, and it just works.
When wireless earbuds run out of battery or lose connection, wired headphones with 3.5 mm jack are always ready to serve without delay.
2. Unmatched Sound Quality
Audiophiles often argue that the analog signal from a 3.5 mm headphone jack delivers superior sound quality compared to compressed Bluetooth audio. With minimal latency and full-frequency audio transmission, you hear your music exactly as it was meant to be heard.
Whether you're a gamer, DJ, or casual listener, the 3.5 mm headphone jack gives you immersive, uninterrupted audio without worrying about battery life.
3. Durability & Ease of Use
Wireless devices depend on software and batteries. In contrast, the 3.5 mm jack is plug-and-play. No need to pair devices, worry about interference, or deal with app glitches. It’s rugged, dependable, and often outlasts many wireless counterparts.
The Rise of Type-C and the Need for Adapters
With many newer smartphones, especially flagship models, ditching the headphone jack, users are left searching for solutions. That's where the type c to 3.5 mm jack or type c to audio jack comes in. These compact adapters allow you to enjoy the classic wired audio experience on your Type-C-only device.
Debock Infotech offers reliable and high-quality OTG adapters and audio connectors, ensuring seamless transitions between the old and the new.
OTG: Unlocking the Full Potential of Your Devices
Speaking of versatility, OTG (On-The-Go) technology has been a game-changer for smartphone users. With a simple usb otg cable, you can:

Future of the 3.5 mm Jack: A Farewell or a Comeback?
While big tech brands continue to phase out the 3.5 mm headphone jack, there’s still a large segment of users who refuse to part with it. Musicians, professionals, and travelers still carry wired headphones because they’re durable, offer low latency, and don’t need to be charged.
And with the availability of type c to audio jack adapters and OTG connectors, it’s clear that the market isn’t ready to let go of the 3.5 mm jack just yet. It may not dominate the headlines anymore, but its role in our digital lives is far from over.

Reviving Your Drenched Device: A Comprehensive Guide to Liquid Damage Repair
The sinking feeling when a beverage spills onto your laptop is universally dreadful. It's a moment of panic, a sudden realization that precious data and functionality might be lost. Liquid damage, a common yet complex issue, can wreak havoc on electronic components, leading to a cascade of problems. However, hope isn't entirely lost. With the right approach and expertise, many laptops can be salvaged through effective liquid damage repair.
This article delves into the intricacies of this process, providing a comprehensive guide to understanding and addressing this unfortunate situation.
Understanding the Enemy: How Liquids Damage Laptops
Liquids, especially those containing sugars or salts, are highly conductive. When they infiltrate a laptop, they can create short circuits, corrode delicate components, and leave behind residues that hinder proper operation. The damage can manifest in various ways:
Corrosion: The liquid's chemical properties can erode metal components, leading to connection failures and component degradation.
Short Circuits: Conductivity creates unintended electrical pathways, potentially frying sensitive circuitry.
Residue Buildup: Sugary or sticky liquids leave behind residues that can impede airflow, clog connectors, and interfere with component functionality.
Component Failure: The cumulative effect of corrosion, short circuits, and residue buildup can lead to the outright failure of critical components like the motherboard, keyboard, or display.
Immediate Action: The Crucial First Steps
The first few minutes after a liquid spill are critical. Quick and decisive action can significantly improve the chances of successful liquid damage repair.
Power Down Immediately: The most crucial step is to disconnect the power adapter and, if possible, remove the battery. This prevents further electrical damage.
Turn the Laptop Upside Down: Gently tilt the laptop to allow the liquid to drain out. Avoid shaking, as this can spread the liquid further inside.
Absorb Excess Liquid: Use a clean, lint-free cloth or paper towels to absorb any visible liquid on the surface.
Do Not Attempt to Power On: Resist the urge to test the laptop immediately. Even if it seems dry, internal components might still be damp.
Seek Professional Help: Contact an independent laptop liquid damage repair solution provider as soon as possible. Delaying professional intervention can exacerbate the damage.
The Professional Repair Process: What to Expect
A reputable laptop liquid damage repair solution provider will typically follow a systematic approach to assess and address the damage.
Thorough Inspection: The technician will disassemble the laptop to inspect the extent of the liquid damage. They will look for signs of corrosion, residue buildup, and component damage.
Component Cleaning: Affected components will be cleaned using specialized solvents and techniques to remove residue and corrosion. This meticulous cleaning is crucial for restoring proper functionality.
Component Replacement: Severely damaged components, such as the motherboard, keyboard, or display, may need to be replaced.
