I offer a look at the Missouri Girls High School Classification with an Analysis of points earned and its impact on what Class Teams may end up in

Mackenzie Duff and Sr. Jill Hausmann of Nerinx Hall on April 23, 2018 As we experienced in the Fall, there is a new Missouri Classification model that implemented a Championship Factor rather than the previous enrollment multiplier for non-public and charter schools. It moved small private schools like John Burroughs and Priory…

Visitation Continue Domination of Westminster Wildcats
Visitation Continue Domination of Westminster Wildcats @sportingWCA
Sr. Kirsten Davis is fouled by So. Anna Avery in the District Final on May 17, 2017 The last time the Westminster Wildcats beat Visitation in a District match was 2009 when they won in the first round of play 1-0, back when there were 8 (or 9 that year) teams playing in Districts. Since then seven wins over Westminster for the Vivettes in eight years in the Final (2014 Westminster lost to Parkway…

Visitation Class of 2017 with the Spring Soccer Challenge Cup after defeating Ursuline on April 12, 2017
Spring season means that the Ursuline Bears and Visitation Vivettes compete in soccer for the Challenge Cup, after battling in Basketball in the Winter and Softball in the Fall. Viz staked their claim to the Cup in the 14th minute today when in the 14th minute they scored a pair of goals to take a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish, finishing with an 8-1 advantage.
Senior Kayleigh Stahlschmidt (pictured below) opened the scoring when she tapped in a square ball through the box from Jaimie Tottleben. Sophomore Tottleben was then the recipient 30 seconds later when Stahlschmidt turned a defender in the left corner, took two steps and found her fellow front-runner with room to settle and then place her ball to the open corner.
Both teams are working hard to build the 2017 team following significant graduation losses, Abby O’Keefe for Visitation and Ursuline’s dynamic midfield pairing of Abby Basler and Alex Severino. The biggest difference at this time was on display today as the Vivette’s forward pair have a year of experience and a high level of quality. Stahlschmidt went on to score a hat-trick in the first half, matched by Tottleben in the second half with two goals that drew gasps. The first, what initially looked like a cross was bent into the far side netting from the right endline. Her third, taken with the outside of her right foot as she entered the box from the right side, bending beyond the keeper’s reach and freezing her. Things of beauty.
Senior back Brynne Polivka scored the first goal of the second half two minutes in on Caroline Davis’ corner kick, the initial ball getting knocked down at the far post before the rebound fell to Kailey Knopf who had her shot saved as Jen Miller threw herself back across the face of the goal. The second rebound fell into Polivka’s path and she finished quickly for her fourth goal of this young season. Freshman Emily Guyot got her first varsity goal (sorry I missed it Emily, too many bodies in my shooting path) when Stahlschmidt won a 50/50 ball in the offensive third, moved toward the near touchline before turning back into the box. A simple slotted path found Emily near the penalty spot and she finished reliably.
Ursuline got a late goal by So. Macy Holmes, who worked hard on the right wing and offered a good attacking option all evening. Her late opportunity gave her a bit more time and she finished past the keeper from about 10 yards out.
Lot’s of pictures to edit later tonight after my late game tonight. Come back tomorrow.
