Day 1 // "Close your eyes. Take a breath."
For Day 1 of @veilguard-appreciation-week, I knew I wanted to write something about Myrna. In my headcanon, my Ingellvar was dumped on Myrna as a baby when she herself was still pretty young (mid-late teens), and then bounced between her and Vorgoth growing up.
This is a little fic exploring their relationship. My Rook, Viveka, is around six here. Myrna is twenty-two. They are both trying their best.
Rating: G Word-count: 1031
“Ms Ingellvar.”
Viveka scrunched her nose. Myrna only used her surname like that when she was in trouble, or if there were more senior Watchers around. But it was just them, alone in her office in the corner of the library, and she was using her stern voice.
Viveka held onto the edge of the too-big chair with her hands, and swung her legs, looking everywhere but at her guardian.
“Do you remember what the writing on the parchment said before you burnt it?” Myrna asked.
She shook her head.
Myrna sighed. “Do you remember the number on its protective case?”
Viveka tried to think back. “Five hundred and something.”
“That’s the Science category. Alright. Is that all you remember?”
“There were some pressed leaves stuck to it.”
The librarian brought a hand up to massage her forehead, and Viveka squirmed slightly in her seat. She didn’t like making things difficult for her guardians. She didn’t enjoy it. But her magic was still all very new, and sometimes she got just a little too excited, and things caught fire by accident.
Myrna opened a drawer, retrieving a pad of paper and opening it out to a relatively empty page, just a few notes in the corner jotted down during a meeting several weeks ago, and a reference number that had already been looked into. “Can you draw the shape of the leaves for me?”
Viveka nodded, and Myrna passed her a pencil, too. She hopped down from her seat and turned, using the chair’s cushion to lean on as the desk was too high for her. When she presented her drawing to Myrna, she did her best to look contrite, smiling sheepishly and scuffing the toes of her polished black boots against the floor.
“Don’t ruin your shoes, Viveka,” Myrna said absently as she accepted the notepad and pencil back. “If you take care of your footwear, they will take you far.”
Viveka immediately stopped scuffing her shoes, clasping her hands in front of her with her back straight instead.
Myrna’s eyes flicked up to hers over the top of the notepad, and she smiled softly at her. “Perfect posture. Well done.”
Viveka glowed with the praise, ducking her head to hide her grin, twin dark braids falling in her face.
“This looks like elfroot,” Myrna said, her attention back on the drawing. “I think I know the parchment you destroyed,” Viveka flinched slightly as the harsh wording. “It’s old, and there will be some upset scholars, but it’s nothing I won’t be able to smooth over.”
She set the notepad down atop her desk and clasped her hands together, the very picture of elegance and poise. If Viveka could possess even half the grace she exuded when she was grown up, she’d be satisfied.
“Can you tell me what, exactly, happened, Viveka?” she asked.
Viveka clasped her hands together tighter and fought the urge to start scuffling her shoes again.
“You won’t be in trouble,” Myrna assured her. “But I cannot help you prevent this from happening once more unless I know what we’re working with.”
She squeezed her hands tighter as she tried to determine the best words to use to avoid getting scolded. After a while, Myrna stood, coming around the desk and moving to kneel down in front of her with a sweep of her robes. She wrapped her hands around Viveka’s gently.
“Every mage starts out feeling exactly as you do right now,” she said softly.
“It just happens,” Viveka blurted out. “I can’t control it. It’s like I’m so happy, or angry, or sad, and the feeling has to come out somewhere.”
“And it comes out in the form of a fireball,” Myrna concluded.
Viveka nodded, her eyes filling with tears.
“Oh, none of that,” Myrna soothed, reaching up to wipe the tears away with the pad of her thumb before returning to clasp Viveka’s hands in her own. “Come now. Close your eyes.”
Viveka frowned slightly, confused, but complied without question. She trusted Myrna so very much.
“Your feelings are important, but you cannot let them control you,” she heard Myrna explain. “It’s important that we acknowledge them, and let them pass through us, like a soft breeze.”
Viveka’s feelings rarely ever felt like a soft breeze. They felt more akin to a torrential downpour, sudden and fast and all-consuming. But maybe, when she was Myrna’s great big age of twenty-two, she’d be able to control them better, and they would feel gentler. It was something to hope for, she supposed.
“When we feel big emotions,” Myrna said, “I want you to close your eyes and take a big, deep breath, alright? In through your nose…” She waited for Viveka to comply. “And then out through your mouth.”
Viveka breathed out in a rush, and Myrna gave her hands a gentle squeeze. “Slower. Try again.”
They tried it a few times before Myrna was satisfied with her pacing. “Now. Focus on what you’re feeling, and channel it into your magic.”
Viveka shook her head, her bottom lip starting to quiver again. “I can’t do it. I’ll hurt you.”
“Viveka, darling, I can assure you I’m a lot tougher than I look.”
Her eyes were still squeezed shut, but she felt Myrna turn her hands, positioning them together, palms facing up, and cupping them with her own.
“Remember. Deep breaths.”
Viveka took another big breath, in through her nose, and slowly exhaled through her mouth. She found the part of her that wanted to explode, always, and held onto it tightly in her mind. And then, slowly, carefully, she let it out in a contained, controlled trickle.
The fireball flared to life in her palm, and then… stayed. Small, contained.
Viveka opened one eye cautiously, and broke out into a proud grin- one that only grew when she realised that Myrna was smiling at her like she’d done something important. The flame grew, big and bright and excited, and suddenly Myrna was clamping ice-clad hands over it, smothering it, before it had chance to get out of control.
“We need to work on that a little,” she said. “But you did good, Viveka.”
Viveka beamed.

Happy Friday! How about “Can I listen to your heartbeat?” for Viveka/Bellara? idk I have a strange obsession with Mourn Watchers and heartbeats <3
Okay so I've had this one sitting in my inbox for a while, and it turned out to be one of those fun little prompts that kinda needs to sit, and stew, if that makes sense? And today it just grabbed me and demanded I write it !! So here is some post-game Bellarook fluff!
For @dadrunkwriting (Veilguard spoilers!!!)
Rating: T Ship: Bellara x Rook (my Ingellvar, she/her pronouns) Word-count: 1050 tw: blood
The first time, they’re on the lounge in Rook’s meditation room. The world is saved, the gods are all either dead or banished, and Bellara had sought her out with a book full of notes that has already been discarded on the floor. Now she’s straddling Viveka’s lap, her long hair loose, creating a curtain around them, separating them from the rest of the world, as she leans down to kiss her.
“Can I feel your heartbeat?” Viveka asks when Bellara pulls away. “I just need to be sure that this is real.”
Bellara takes her hand and slips it just barely beneath the fabric at her neckline. The marks left by the blight still linger on her skin- thin, blackened veins that have faded ever so slightly with time. “Have you found it?” she asks.
Slowly, tentatively, Viveka shifts her hand slightly, a little further to the left, a little further down. The first pulse against her fingers has her exhaling, relaxing. She hadn’t realised quite how tense she was.
“I’m here,” Bellara reassures her softly, reaching up to trace her fingers across Rook’s cheek. “And you’re here. And we’re safe and alive and it’s wonderful.”
-
It becomes something they do. Whenever they reunite after time spent apart, no matter how short, Viveka will slip one arm from their embrace to place two fingers against Bellara’s carotid artery in her neck.
“Still here,” Bellara will say, with a gentle smile.
“And I’m still here, too,” Rook will confirm, just as softly.
Or they’ll be out together, and something will happen. Something is always happening. In Arlathan, in the Grand Necropolis, there are always vengeful spirits and bloodthirsty skeletons and artefacts going awry. And Viveka will reach out, behind or in front or wherever she knows Bellara to be. Bellara will take her hand, and press her fingers to the radial artery in her wrist.
Still here. It goes unsaid, but they both think it, both know that the other does, too. Still alive.
-
Bellara walks Rook into her workshop, hands clasped firmly over her eyes.
“Can I look yet?” Viveka asks, amused.
“No! Keep your eyes closed,” Bellara stresses. “I’m going to move my hand real quick, but I’m trusting you.”
“This better not be a prank,” Viveka teases, but she keeps her eyes shut. Bellara holds out her hand a few inches from Rook’s face for a moment, gauging whether or not she really can be trusted, before taking a step back and rushing for her desk.
“Not a prank!” She says proudly, returning quickly with her gift clasped tight. She takes Viveka’s hand and drops something into it- something heavy, and smooth.
“Are we giving each-other jewellery now?” Viveka teases, her eyes still closed. But she’s a Watcher, she knows the feel of a good quality piece of metalwork in her palm.
“I mean I wouldn’t say no,” Bellara says, ducking her head to the side. “But no! This is more than that! Oh, you can open your eyes now.”
Viveka immediately lifts her hand to look. It’s a necklace, the triangular pendant reminiscent of many of the pieces she’s seen in Arlathan. It’s elven, and old.
“Close your hand over it, like this,” Bellara says, reaching out to wrap Viveka’s fingers around the pendant. “It has to be completely enclosed or it won’t work, for some reason. And then say ma vhenan.”
Viveka’s eyebrow quirks. “My heart?”
“It’ll make sense, I promise.”
Curiosity piqued, Viveka does as instructed. “Ma vhenan.”
She squeaks as the pendant pulses in her hand. Her fingers fly open, but all she sees is a regular, if ancient, necklace.
“What happened?” she asks Bellara.
“I told you, you have to keep your hand closed! It’s- I don’t know, it’s shy, or something? But I matched it up so it…. Just do it again. Make it beat. I’ll show you.”
Viveka keeps her eyes trained on Bellara, uncertain, but she closes her hand around the pendant once more. “Ma vhenan,” she says, again, and this time when the pendant pulses, she expects it.
Slowly, Bellara reaches out, takes her free hand, and places it against the artery in her neck. “It should be synchronised with me. Is it?”
Slowly, it dawns on Viveka just what exactly she’s holding. “You put your heartbeat in a necklace for me?”
“No!” Bellara scrunches her nose. “No, I don’t know how to do that. It’s like an… an echo, almost. I gave it the tiniest- the smallest, most miniscule teeny-tiny bit of my blood-”
“Bellara!”
“- and now it’s synced up to my heartbeat! So when we’re apart, you’ll have this, and you’ll know I’m still alive.”
If she was anyone else, she’d be more concerned about the blood magic. But Viveka is a Mourn Watcher, and such things are permitted in the Watch if done ethically.
“I really hope those are happy tears,” Bellara says, doubt creeping into her voice.
“They’re happy tears,” Viveka assures her. “Delighted tears, actually. This was so thoughtful, Bellara, thank you.”
“Yes, well.” Bellara blushes.
“I need to get one for you.”
She waves her hand. “It’s fine, I already made notes. I took that one apart, fiddled around with all the pieces, made sure it was safe and all that before I even considered giving it to you. I think I can replicate it, probably.”
“Does it have to be a necklace?”
“Not technically. It just has to be metal, ideally a few thousand years old.”
Viveka moves, fastening the necklace around her neck in a hurry before going to remove one of her many rings. Nevarran grave jewellery is typically larger and more ornamental than the style Bellara gravitates towards, but Viveka picks out the smallest, most delicate ring she has and holds it out to her.
Bellara examines it for a moment. Her gaze lifts, meets Rook’s, and there’s that twinkle in her eyes that Viveka fell in love with. “So, I’m going to have to prick your finger.”
Viveka laughs, lets herself be led over to the desk. “You know, you’re the only person I’d let do blood magic on me these days.”
“That’s reassuring. Definitely gives me a lot of room to mess up before we’re even close to last time someone tried it.”

hiya!! happy friday! i think you might have fun writing your rook having an argument with another character (bellara or varric, perhaps?) "Woah, woah. You need to reign it in."
Hi hello this has been sitting in my askbox for MONTHS, but today it just clicked and I suddenly knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I thought it would be fun to explore how Varric might react, in Veilguard, to his protégé falling for an expert in Dalish history. Given his past experiences with that.
Rating: T Word-count: 993
For @dadrunkwriting
Major Veilguard spoilers below!!
“Varric, have you ever been in love?”
Varric chuckled, shifting slightly on his mattress in a bid to get more comfortable. “You don’t get to my age, kid, without having your heart broken at least once.”
Viveka frowned slightly, leaning forwards to rest her elbows on her knees. “Are you sure about that? I feel like I’ve heard plenty of stories about people who get it right the first time.” Couples buried together, their names etched side-by-side on their shared tombstone, along with heartfelt sentiments from their surviving family. Childhood sweethearts; True lovers; Two chests, one heart.
“Take it from me, Rook. You can’t count on stories. They rarely tell you the whole truth.”
She smiled slightly at that. “Are you telling me your novels are pure fiction? Is that a confession, at last?”
Varric’s smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. “I know you weren’t foolish enough to take my works at face value.”
“I don’t know,” Viveka said lightly, reaching out to gently shove him on the shoulder, ever mindful of his broken leg. “I always thought what Hawke and Anders had seemed kind of… romantic?”
He winced. “Please. Don’t even joke about that.”
“I’ve already started a double blight. I’m sure I could get a civil war in, too-- before lunch, even, if I really set my mind to it.”
“Rook.” Something in Varric’s tone sobered her immediately, ruined the lightness of her mood. He was stern, agitated in a way she’d never seen from him before.
Her surprise must’ve shown in her face, a startled panic in her eyes, because Varric quickly softened. “Sorry, kid. I’ve been a little tense lately." He cast his gaze about the room. "I hate being cooped up like this.”
Viveka studied him for a moment. She felt as though she was on the precipice of something, so close to noticing… she wasn’t sure what.
His reasoning made sense. Of course he must be tired, and bored, and it was coming out as frustration. She felt stupid for not being more considerate, for not realising sooner.
“Why are you asking me about my love life, anyway?” Varric asked, and that gentle teasing tone she recognised from him returned in full force. “Has someone caught your eye?”
Viveka felt heat rise to her cheeks as she nodded.
“Is it that necromancer you went to pick up?”
“Emmrich?” her face scrunched slightly. “No, he… No.” Charming as he was, his mannerisms reminded her far too much of Myrna for her to ever be comfortable imagining… No. Ew. Absolutely not.
“Then it must be Neve?” Varric raised an eyebrow in question.
“No! Maker, no, it’s like you don’t know me at all.” She said it with a laugh, and was too preoccupied to make note of the way his brow furrowed slightly, as though he wasn’t amused by this at all but instead concentrating intently.
“I give up,” he said. “You’ll have to tell me.”
“It’s…” She glanced up to the door, suddenly terrified someone might walk in on them, before shuffling her chair closer. Resting her elbows on the edge of the mattress, she leaned in to whisper, “It’s Bellara.”
“The Dalish Fade expert?”
“Shh!!” Viveka waved her hands frantically, despite there being no-one around to hear them. “Yes. I think I like her. Is that crazy?”
If she didn’t know any better, she’d say that the way Varric was looking at her in that moment screamed of thinly veiled panic.
“I know you haven’t had many opportunities to get to know her- yet!” Viveka said, adding the last part with a forced sort of optimism. She’d expected this conversation to go a lot better, somehow, but now she felt as thought everything was falling apart and she was frantically trying to piece it back together even as it shattered around her. “But she’s really sweet, and so clever. And when she’s focusing, she does this little frown like this.” She tried her best to mimic it, but couldn’t because the thought of it just made her want to smile.
“I’m not sure she’s the best choice of romantic partner, Rook,” Varric said, his tone uncharacteristically clipped.
At that, Viveka found her own, real frown came all too easily. “You hardly know her.”
“I just think,” he said, “that it might be an idea to be careful who you give your heart to. Given the circumstances.”
Viveka sat up, pushing her chair away from the bed and letting it screech painfully against the floor. “I don’t think anyone gets to choose who they fall in love with!” she snapped. “And even if you could. Bellara is the most wonderful, most passionate, sweetest person I have ever met.”
“Rook, I didn’t mean to cause offence.” Varric reached for her weakly, but Viveka rose to her feet. “I’m begging you to remember that a key component of Anders’ romance with Hawke was the betrayal. If she’s as passionate and driven and… and single-minded as you’ve made out, she might-”
“Did Anders betray Hawke?” Viveka cut him off sharply. “Or did he betray you?”
It was a horrible, vicious, vindictive thing to say, and the surprise in Varric’s expression, the way he drew back as best he could against his pillow, opened up a hollow of guilt within her stomach.
“I just think,” Varric said, softly, placating, in a way that didn’t suit him at all, “that if I was an elven god, she’s exactly the sort of person I might seek to manipulate.”
“Well, she isn’t naive enough to fall for something like that,” Viveka hissed, marching towards the door. “Sleep. I’ll come check on you later.” Even angry, she couldn’t be upset with him, not truly. He was just looking out for her, after all.
“Rook, I-”
She was gone.
Varric’s image vanished the moment she was no longer in the room, and in his prison Solas steepled his fingers together, took a deep breath, and then swore.

i saw "002. a letter of condolences" and "007. a letter written in the case of my muse’s death" from the letters list and thought these worked together well? maybe for viveka or hissera?
This was an extremely rude prompt omg (thank you, I had fun with it!! <3)
I decided to go with Hissera. There's two letters below the cut, + a snippet from a character I felt would prefer to give her condolences in person.
For @dadrunkwriting (major Veilguard spoilers!!)
tw: death
My dearest Lady Montilyet,
This is my third attempt at starting this letter. Words cannot express the devastation I know you must be feeling right now.
I can’t help but feel that I failed you, and her. You sent Hissera to my city, to help me, and now she’s dead.
If there is anything I can do to help. I’m happy to travel to Antiva if you require it of me, Magisterium be damned. Goodness knows you’ve helped me out more times than I can count, and I would not have you endure something like this alone.
I’m sure you have your family with you, Yvette and the others, but I know they all have their own lives and I… I would sit with you, if you need it, or help make arrangements for our Hissera’s funeral. Whatever you need of me.
Yours,
Dorian
-
Dear Lady Montilyet,
We’ve not met in person, but I felt it was my duty to write to you in your time of loss.
Death is inevitable. It’s something we all must face, and it is always difficult when it sets its sights on someone dear to us.
Before the siege on Minrathous, I thought I had lost my partner. And I found her in the chaos of it all and she is fine, but for a while there, for a few weeks, all I knew was grief and rage.
Ghilan’nain murdered my best friend, as well. Right in front of me. And I am sure by now you have heard of what happened to poor Varric.
You don’t need to know all of this, but I wanted to provide some context before I told you that I understand, so that you would know that I’m not merely parroting hollow words. I understand, and I am here for you, and I know it doesn’t fix anything but I need you to know that your partner was brave to the end. And everyone who brought this upon her, everyone responsible for her death and my best friend’s, and Varric's, too, is dealt with. They cannot hurt anyone else, ever again.
You have my most sincere condolences.
Yours faithfully,
Watcher Viveka Ingellvar
“Rook”
-
Morrigan doesn’t write. Instead she travels directly to Antiva City and goes straight to the Montilyet estate, brushing past the servant at the door to find Josephine in her study.
Josephine looks up from her desk, and immediately rises to her feet. And Morrigan, never usually one for hugs, catches her as she runs across the room, holding her close as she sobs into her shoulder.

happy Friday <3 I love the idea of: "A note from a companion to Rook about the Lighthouse" Only of you feel like it of course <3 Happy writing <3
Thank you!!! I had some fun with this one <3
For @dadrunkwriting
Veilguard content below!
On a haphazardly folded piece of paper, the lines cleanly scored but uneven. It’s fragile where it’s been opened and closed multiple times.
Dear Rook,
Hi!!! Just a quick note, nothing to be alarmed about. There may have been a tiny, tiny explosion near the eluvian area earlier today. It’s fine, I know exactly what I did what caused it, but if you could maybe not use the eluvian for the next….. two-to-five days? I’m sending Manfred through with this because he’s a spirit, so I think he should be fine?? We haven’t told Emmrich, we’re hoping he gets back before the Professor notices anything’s amiss.
Hope you’re having a great time in Minrathous!!!! Tell Neve I said ‘hello’!!!
Love, Yours, Your girlfriend wait no that’s awkward,
Love,
Bellara
-
A carefully folded response, sealed with wax. The seal is broken, and the letter is tucked safely inside a desk drawer.
My dearest Bel,
Manfred expressed a desire to stay with us, but we thought you might get in trouble if we didn’t send him back as promptly as possible.
I trust you. I’m concerned, of course, but I know that you’re the most proficient scholar in all of Thedas regarding ancient elven technology. If Professor Volkarin permits it, please send Manfred back to us with another of your delightful letters when it’s safe for us to return. Or, if it isn’t dangerous, I would welcome the chance to see you again a little sooner if you are able to make the trip instead.
In the mean-time, the Shadow Dragons have graciously agreed to let us sleep at their headquarters.
Counting the moments until I see you again, my love.
Yours, eternally,
Viveka Ingellvar

Hi! For thedasweekend I would like to prompt you something. How about:
…where it doesn’t hurt. from your kiss prompt list for either Hawke+ Anders or Viveka + Bellara (whatever works best for you!)
Hello!! Thank you so much for this, I'm sorry it's taken me so long! I decided to go with Rook/Bellara, since Bel was my main healer in Viveka's playthrough. It was really fun exploring how that might've looked outside of combat!!
For @thedasweekend
Rating: T Ship: Bellara/Female Ingellvar Word-count: 903
“Rook! Catch!”
Viveka spun, dropping her staff quickly so that she could catch the healing potion coming towards her in both hands. “Thanks, Bel!”
Somewhere over her shoulder, Emmrich sighed, though he was too busy fending off skeletons himself to chastise them too hard.
She pulled the cork out with her teeth, gulping the potion down before shoving the empty bottle in her bag and stooping to retrieve her staff.
Momentarily exposed, her first indication that a skeleton had her in its sights was the clattering of its teeth as it drew closer. And then it shattered, bone fragments falling around her in sharp shards, and she heard Bellara’s joyful whoop of delight from across the corridor.
The rest of the skeletons were relatively easy to either defeat or disperse, with two Mourn Watchers between them and three mages all combined.
“I think that’s all of them,” Emmrich said, leaning heavily on his staff as he turned to face them. Bellara was adjusting her bow, and Viveka blew her fringe out of her face as she met Emmrich’s eyes. “Ladies, do we need to go over the disadvantages of throwing glass bottles across the battlefield at each-other again?”
“Sorry!” Bellara called out. She finished up her adjustments quickly, hurrying to stand by Viveka’s side, a united front against their disappointed mentor. “It’s just quicker. Rook’s always right up in there when we’re fighting, and I’m, well, not. So…” She gave Emmrich her most innocent smile.
“Come on, Emmrich,” Viveka cooed. “Who can resist that face?”
He sighed. “Bellara, when we return to the Lighthouse, would you be open to my teaching you a basic healing spell?”
Her innocent smile fell and, focused, Bellara shook her head immediately. “No use, Professor, I’ve already tried. I just don’t have the talent for it, I’m afraid.”
“Nonsense! All spells can be learned, with time.”
But she was adamant, still shaking her head no even as he spoke. “Believe me, you do not want me doing healing magic, Professor. I will only make it worse.”
Viveka looked at her curiously. “Make it worse? How?”
“You have to focus to do healing magic. Really hone in on the area you’re fixing, and picture the skin weaving itself back together. And bones can take hours! Even if you’re an expert! I can’t do that, I cannot keep my mind still for that long.”
“You work on your projects all night,” Emmrich noted, not unkindly- just, as Viveka was, intrigued.
“It’s different. There’s all kinds of ticking and whirring and clicks when I do that, it keeps me grounded.”
“Oh, how fascinating,” Emmrich said with genuine enthusiasm.
“Healing isn’t exactly silent,” Viveka pointed out. “Bodies make all sorts of sounds, if you know what to listen for.”
Emmrich nodded sagely in agreement as Bellara scrunched her nose with disgust.
“Speaking of bodies…” Slowly, Viveka reached a hand up to press against her side. It came away bleeding. She swayed slightly on her feet, using her staff for support, as both her companions rushed to steady her.
Emmrich was already conducting a basic healing spell before he reached her, graceful movements guiding the magic in the exact arrangement he wanted it. As he worked, Bellara wrapped her arm around Viveka. The support wasn’t entirely necessary, the wound wasn’t all that bad, but Viveka leaned into her all the same.
“I’m sorry,” Bellara said. “I thought I’d perfected my healing potions. I’ll work on it for next time we go out together, don’t worry.”
“Potions are really just for minor injuries,” Emmrich explained, even as he worked. “They’re not much use for anything more than a small scratch.”
“Well, then, what can I do?” Her eyes were wide with worry, and Viveka released her staff with one hand to reach for her, cupping her cheek.
“If I go down in battle,” she said, and Bellara sucked in a breath. “Which I won’t. But if I do. You electrocute the bastard.”
Bellara nodded, a determined set to her jaw. “I’ll rip them to shreds.”
“Perfect.”
“Ladies,” Emmrich intoned sternly.
“Sorry, um,” Viveka frowned slightly. She felt a little bit like she was being quizzed, although she wasn’t quite sure what the subject was, exactly. “Leave the body intact so proper mourning rituals can be conducted, dependent on the deceased person’s faith…?”
Emmrich sighed tiredly. He finished healing her wound with an upward sweep of his hand and stepped back, clasping his hands over the top of his staff. “How do you feel?”
Viveka twisted slightly from side-to-side, still in Bellara’s arms. “Good as new.”
“Is that everything?” Bellara asked anxiously. “You’re not secretly hurt anywhere else?”
Viveka spun in her arms, smiling up at her. “And if I was? How would you distract me?”
Bellara’s eyes darted across her face, trying to get a read on her. “I think I’d cry, if I’m being honest.”
“Bellara,” Viveka said fondly. “If I was in terrible pain. And I wanted to be distracted…?” She trailed off, raising an eyebrow pointedly.
“Oh. Oh!” Bellara laughed. “Well, then, I suppose I might do something like this?” She leaned in to kiss her, and Viveka did her best not to giggle as she met her halfway.
She was dimly aware of Emmrich leaving, something about the Central Chamber, meet you there, honestly she didn’t care in the moment.
“Are you distracted?” Bellara whispered against her lips.
“Are you?”

happy friday! just saw your taylor swift prompt list and i'm a huge swiftie, so for femslash feb: Viveka Ingellvar/Bellara and "at every table, i'll save you a seat" ?
Hello, fellow swiftie!!!! I'm afraid this ended up very platonic and pre-relationship, but!! cute, still, I think?
For @dadrunkwriting - Veilguard spoilers !!
Rating: G Ship: Bellara & F!Ingellvar (& Neve & Harding) Word count: 852
Bellara hadn’t known Viveka for very long, but she’d already picked up on a couple of things. For one, her diet was abysmal- but, then, who in the Lighthouse could claim otherwise? Unlike Harding, though, who would at least make sure she headed to the kitchen three times a day like clockwork, Viveka seemed to just… forget. Instead, she’d whizz through like a whirlwind a few times a day, snatching up a couple of crackers and a handful of nuts, and disappear off again, snacks in hand.
It wouldn’t be fair for Bellara to say that she never forgot to eat. Because she did, all the time. Sometimes, a particular artefact would be so interesting, she couldn’t possibly tear herself away until she had it back up and running again. And that could take hours. Days, even.
But somehow, knowing that Viveka also wasn’t eating regularly (or Neve, either, for that matter) was incentive enough for Bellara to develop a schedule for mealtimes and stick to it. At least once a day, every day, she was going to get everyone in the dining room for a meal!
Solas’ pantry left much to be desired. She was able to top it up a little with a few supplies from Dock Town’s shops (she also found several new serials there- and some cool gloves!!), and then she set to work. Neve graciously agreed to be her taste tester, which mostly seemed to mean sitting on the edge of the kitchen counter, and stealing pieces of cheese whenever Bellara’s back was turned.
She’d tried hard to put together a meal that everyone would enjoy, especially since this was their first dinner all together. Maybe, after this, she’d see if anyone had any specific requests? But, for tonight, she’d made something vegetarian (for Viveka), with lots of cheese (for Harding), and fried bread on the side (for Neve). She was quite pleased with the result and, after she and Neve had set the table, she waited anxiously for the Caretaker to fetch the others so that she could see their faces.
“Relax,” Neve said, taking the seat at the head of the table. “You’ve done good, Bel. And I don’t say that lightly- it takes a lot to get me to eat my vegetables.”
A smile flickered across Bellara’s face. “Right. Thanks, Neve.”
A chair screeched against the stone floor as Neve kicked it slightly, pushing it away from the table with her foot. “Sit. You’re pacing.”
“Right.” Bellara perched on the edge of the seat indicated for her, tucking herself into the table. “What if they hate it, though?”
Neve shrugged. “More for me.”
The door opened, and Harding paused in the doorway, doing a quick once-over of the food spread out across the table before taking a seat and reaching for the cheese wands. Bellara bounced her leg furiously under the table as she took her first bite.
“Oh, wow,” she exhaled, wrapping her arms around the serving plate. “I’m not sharing these.”
“Yes, you are!” Neve insisted.
Harding shook her head. “Nope! These are all mine.”
“They’re good?” Bellara asked hopefully.
“So good,” Harding confirmed through a mouthful of cheese.
The door opened again, and Viveka hesitated in the entryway. She looked not unlike a startled rabbit for a moment as she took in the scene before her, Harding with her plate of cheese wands, Neve slouched down in her seat so that she could reach the scout beneath the table with her foot.
“Rook!” Bellara stood up. For some reason. Inwardly cursing, she reached out a hand towards her, across the expanse of table. “Come sit next to me!”
Hesitantly, Viveka took the offered hand, holding it as she walked around the table to sit down in the chair beside her.
“So what are we eating?” Viveka asked, plastering on that confident grin Bellara was coming to know so well.
As she explained each of the dishes she’d prepared, Bellara kept an eye on her face. Something wasn’t right. She wondered if Viveka had been sitting up in the infirmary by herself again.
“You all have to come back tomorrow, okay?” Bellara addressed the group. “Same time. Every day. We’re gonna make this a routine.”
“Should we make a rota for the cooking?” Harding asked.
“Oh, Harding, you don’t have to do that,” Bellara tried delicately.
“I don’t mind.”
“Well, the idea, really, is for this to be a cooked meal. Not sandwiches.”
“I can cook!”
“Harding,” Neve cut in. “This is Bellara’s project.”
Project. That made it sound so… important. She supposed it was, in a way.
Turning to Viveka with a gentle smile, she added quietly, “This can be your seat, if you want. I’ll save it for you. Then you don’t have to worry about choosing where you’re gonna go when you come in every night.”
Surprise flickered across Viveka’s face, just for a moment. “I… Thank you.”
“No problem. I get it.” Viveka smiled back at her, and Bellara felt heat rise to her cheeks. She turned to face Harding. “Hey! Let Rook try the cheese wands, too!”
#This is set in that v early part of the game where it's just Rook & their disaster girl squad#I'm not gonna put this in the ship tag bc it is So early on but#Bellara Lutare#bc it's v Bellara-centric tbh#once again huge thank you to everyone who's contributed to the food & drink page on the DA wiki#my fic#Viveka Ingellvar

happy friday! i'm looking at the 'dash of angst' sentence starters and can't help but think that this one fits solas/rook so much it hurts: ❝ i can’t even say he deceived me. i knew exactly what he was and i jumped in anyway. ❞
@lyntergalactic sent in the same prompt for these two!! Great minds, huh? <3
for @dadrunkwriting || Veilguard spoilers!! (BIG ones!!)
word count: 960 rating: T
The elven god of lies, treachery, and rebellion.
Depending on the story.
He’d said it to her face, the very first time they met in the Fade. And still, she’d fallen for it. Now that she looks back on it all, she can pinpoint every lie, every half-truth, every strategic omission of important information.
He’d played her like a fucking flute. And now her best friend was dead, and her lover was gone. Dead, too, maybe.
“I’m going to kill him,” she told Emmrich icily.
“I should beg you to reconsider,” Emmrich said. “As a Watcher, it’s our duty to protect spirits. I should remind you that Solas is but a spirit of wisdom, and that his better nature could still be appealed to. I should ask you to try.”
“But?” Rook raised her eyebrow.
Emmrich sighed. “But you’re angry, and it isn’t my place to tell you how you ought to deal with that.”
Viveka sat for a moment, staring ahead. The autopsy table was directly in front of her. Clean. Sanitary. Familiar. She loved Emmrich’s study, it was the only place in the Lighthouse that really like home to her.
“He told me,” she said evenly, “that he is just a man. I will deal with him as I would any mortal man.”
-
It’s easy to pretend that she hates him, all the time he isn’t there. It’s easy to say she’s going to trick him back, or kill him, or both. It’s easy to believe that she wants to.
But then she’s locking eyes with him across a sea of blight tentacles, and she doesn’t know who to swear by any-more if all the old gods are merely mortals, but she knows this is going to be the hardest thing she’s ever done in her life.
How she wanted to trust him.
“You are as surprising as ever,” he says. And she knows, she knows she can’t trust a word he says. Every single glimmer of praise, all along, was only ever manipulation. He’s still trying to play her like a damned flute. She knows it.
But still, it takes everything in her to squash down the part of her that desperately wants to fall for it, all over again.
She holds Varric’s memory up like a shield. “I know what happened,” she shouts. (Is she any better than he is, to be hiding behind her dear, dead friend like this?)
He tries to explain his actions, to apologise, and she can’t, can’t let him get into her head again. She can’t. Luckily, she knows Neve and Harding are close by, watching, ready to jump in at a moment’s notice if she needs them. She trusts her friends around Solas a lot more than she trusts herself.
“I really wanted to believe you,” she tells him. The last few weeks since her friends pulled her from the Fade, she’s been trying her best to maintain a level of composure, especially when out of the Lighthouse- the sort of demeanour expected of a leader. Here, it crumbles. Here, she allows him to see just how absolutely wretched and broken and hurt he made her feel.
He has the decency to look guilty. She doesn’t know if she can trust that, either.
“If you’d just asked me to, I would’ve helped you.”
“I’m sorry,” he says, taking a step towards her. She moves back, closer to her friends, and he falters slightly. “I did what I felt was necessary. I’m not proud of it.”
“Aren’t you?” She takes another step backwards. She thought she’d feel satisfied if she could just make him suffer, to feel a tiny little piece of the anguish he’s caused her, but instead her heart aches with guilt. “It was quite clever of you. Heap praise on the naive little Mourn Watcher, and then twist your knife in her back when she least expects it.”
“I made no secret of what I was, Rook. From the very beginning, I never said you should trust me. If you did, then that is on you.”
Rook rolls her eyes. “You knew exactly what you were doing.”
He holds her gaze. She will not be the first one to look away, she refuses to be.
“Yes,” he says. “I did.”
Something almost like relief washes over her. Confirmation. Her friends had been quick to reassure her that none of this was her fault, that Solas was a master manipulator- The Dread Wolf- and yet, part of her blamed herself for it. She should’ve been smarter, instead of latching onto his praise like she was starving for it.
This time, she takes a step towards him. Somewhere over her shoulder, she’s dimly aware of Neve’s magic flaring to life in her palm. “Are you sorry?” she finds herself asking. “Even a little bit?”
He gives her a sad smile. “Would you believe me if I said I was?”
She smiles back at him, tentatively, heartbroken. “No.”
“Then I shan’t.”
There isn’t a chasm between them any-more. This is real life. And it’s dangerous, she knows it, but Rook finds herself reaching out and taking his hand in hers. “We need to get to the Divine’s palace. Help us?”
“I had the exact same thought.” His shock is evident, just for a moment, and it feels enough like a win to make Rook forget, just briefly, that she cannot let her guard down around him. “You intend to climb up to Elgar’nan from there?”
She nods, and he’s smiling proudly, and she will not will not fall for this again.
“Hey,” Neve calls out. “Palace is this way, you two.”
His spell is broken. Rook lets go of his hand. “Coming!” she calls back, already turning to join her.

I hope you have a lovely day x3 For the Rook/Partner Questions: 6, and 15? <3
Thank you!! I hope you have a lovely rest of your day (night now?), too 💕
Questions for Rook & their partner !!
6. What is their favorite thing to do together? Do they share any hobbies? Does your Rook teach their partner their own hobbies? Does the partner teach Rook theirs?
I feel like there's a lot of overlap between Bellara's hobbies and Viveka's. They both love learning, but whereas Bellara learns best by doing things- taking things apart to see how they work etc.- Viveka prefers to pick up a textbook and learn that way. They definitely spend a lot of time just working on their separate projects near each-other? Bellara will be tinkering at one end of the sofa, Viveka's working on an academic paper at the other end, and sometimes their hands brush reaching for the snack bowl set up between them kind of a vibe.
Bellara definitely tries to teach Viveka how to take some of the more forgiving ancient artefacts apart at some point (so that she can learn to fix them!!) IF Viveka tries to teach Bel necromancy, it is done with EXTREME caution lmao. I can see her giving Bel a puzzle or something aimed at MW kids that's like... put this anatomically correct skeleton together? Where do the organs go in this 3D model? But Bellara is absolutely Not allowed near any real bodies or skeletons, I think Emmrich might faint (Not because she wouldn't be good at it!! But because she is 0.5 seconds away from going full Hezenkoss if left unsupervised)
But just generally speaking, I think a lot of their relationship is learning from each-other! I see them both as people who are so incredibly passionate about all their interests, and so eager to share them! So there's definitely a lot of excited info-dumping on each-other and they're both v supportive of each-other in that regard.
15. What was the partner's reaction to Rook being imprisoned in the Fade? How did they cope? How did they react upon seeing Rook again?
Lmao okay so Bellara didn't actually know Viveka was in the Fade, because she was kidnapped by Elgnar'nan in my playthrough. There wasn't a lot of time to go over everything when they were reunited (there was a dragon, and the blight, and all that) but post-game they definitely sit down and go through it all. They were both in situations where their feelings for each-other were essentially weaponised against them (Viveka's immense guilt at having let Bel be kidnapped when she swore she'd protect her; Bellara being told by Elgnar'nan that Rook must've given up on her and that no-one was gonna save her). But I feel like they both come out the other side stronger in their relationship for it. Viveka knows now that Bellara doesn't blame her for what happened on Tearstone, and Bellara knows that Viveka would never give up on her.
#blighted bellara romance i will always love you#I had to hold back from writing an entire essay on how much I love the finale from a blighted bellara romance perspective#tldr: it's badass as all heck and also really?? romantic???? actually???? imo???#thank you for this I love thinking about these two <3#dragon age: the veilguard spoilers#da:tv spoilers#veilguard spoilers#viveka ingellvar#dragon age: the veilguard

4. Did Rook enjoy their upbringing? Did they stay with whoever was raising them, or did they run away? Why?
5. Did Rook have any friends while growing up? Did this change as they got older? Do they try to stay in touch with them?
(from the ingellvar questions!)
Thank you so much for giving me an excuse to talk about my girl!!
From the Rook Origins Prompts (Ingellvar)
4. Did Rook enjoy their upbringing? Did they stay with whoever was raising them, or did they run away? Why?
Viveka did have a really happy childhood tbh, if a bit unconventional! She was raised by both Myrna and Vorgoth, although they both tbh didn't really know what to do with a tiny child. So she spent a lot of time following them around, absorbing info, watching them do Grown-Up Mourn Watcher Things. She loved it, she thought Myrna was the coolest person in the whole entire world (still does tbh).
She's also a terrible people-pleaser, so running away would not have crossed her mind at all. She'd be too scared of making her guardians worry. She did sometimes go off exploring the Necropolis with her wisp friends, but I think her guardians always trusted that she'd come back when she was ready. When she's travelling with Varric and Harding pre-Veilguard, it's actually the first time she's ever left Nevarra, and the longest she's ever been away from home.
5. Did Rook have any friends growing up? Did this change as they got older? Do they try to stay in touch with them?
Honestly, Viveka was the sort of kid that really struggled to bond with others her age. Partly I think because she so rarely saw them? She spent almost all her time around Watchers, and on the rare occassion she did meet other children, they were a bit put off by her weirdly formal way of speaking. So a lot of her friends growing up were wisps! I have a little headcanon that she would (try to) sing to them when she was tiny, and they remember that still :')
She did start making (physical) friends once she was old enough to start taking classes officially (as opposed to tagging along with Vorgoth). She already knew a lot of the information being taught, because she'd spent all day, every day of her life surrounded by it. So she had a tendency to whizz through her work, and then mess around and try to make her class-mates laugh. This did get her into trouble, and meetings with guardians were frequently called.
#I do extremely love the mental image btw of an Urgent Meeting with parents being called to discuss their child's disruptive behaviour#and the parents in question are. Vorgoth and Myrna#Just like.#Professor (sweating nervously): So um Vorgoth you really need to have a talk with Watcher Ingellvar she's distracting the other students#I WILL HAVE WORDS#meanwhile Myrna is going “okay have you tried giving her something more challenging tho”#“maybe your class is too easy”#“maybe you should've considered different ability levels when you did your lesson planning”#Viveka Ingellvar

3 and/ or 7 from the Rook and their partner ask game, please and thank you?
Thank you so much for this!!! I've already answered #7 here, but for #3 !! (Sorry it's taken me a bit to get to this!!)
Questions for Rook & their partner !!
3. How long does it take them to officially get together? Did any of the other Lighthouse members have any suspicions beforehand?
It takes them a while!! Emmrich knew before he'd even gotten to the Lighthouse-- I hc that Viveka realised she was crushing on Bellara during his recruitment mission, and I'm sure Emmrich picked up on that!!
Honestly, I think everyone in the team probably knew they were both interested in each-other before they did. They probably had bets going tbh. Neve's close to them both, and also incredibly perceptive- but she expected them to dance around their feelings a little longer. Taash cannot understand why they won't just tell each-other already, ffs.
Davrin has to endure Viveka's gushing over how cute Bellara is. He takes her on their little Arlathan walks and she's just like "You know who loves Arlathan? Bellara. Bellara would be so good at this puzzle. Did you know Bellara was the one who taught me how to use these power crystals?" And he's just like Uh-huh. Interesting...
And tbh, I think Lucanis has probably been getting the same thing from Bellara? Although unlike Davrin, I feel like it'd take him a while to realise Bellara has a crush. The day she suggests cooking Rook's favourite dessert for, um, no reason, Lucanis is like "Oh oh oh wait !!!!!"
The only one I can see maybe not picking up on it is Harding. She's very much in the camp of "oh, Rook's just a touchy person! She's like that with everyone!" Until she goes on a mission with just the two of them, and realises that Oh, okay, yeah no Rook doesn't give everybody heart-eyes quite like that, actually.
#Bellara and Viv are literally the LAST people to realise their feelings are mutual I think!!!#thank you for this <3#dragon age: the veilguard spoilers#da:tv spoilers#veilguard spoilers#viveka ingellvar

7 and 9 for Rook asks! :)
Thank you so much for sending this in!! I apologise for the absolute ESSAY I wrote in response rip
Questions for Rook & their partner !!
7. Are they a physically affectionate couple? Are they fine displaying those affections in public or do they prefer to be in private? If they're not, how do they prefer to show their love instead?
I think they work up to it tbh. They're friends for a while before they start dating, and Rook tends to be quite a platonic physical touch sort of person in cutscenes just generally imo? So things like reaching for each-other's hands and just holding them while they're walking places, or excited hugs-- they've been doing those things since they met practically. They'll keep doing them once they start dating for sure.
For the more strictly romantic stuff, I think at first they'd keep it private, especially while Bellara wraps her head around it all. But also Bellara has absolutely no filter, so one day she probably just goes and plants an absolute romance novel-worthy smacker of a kiss on Viveka without thinking (I'm thinking maybe in that adrenaline rush post-combat maybe?) and everyone else is just like Oh uh. okay. okay guys. Damn you can... you can put each-other down you know...
9. Does your Rook bring them out often? How are they like on the battlefield? Do they banter much?
All the time! Viveka loves to bring her partner to places and hear her thoughts! Banter-wise, they are so chatty. Constantly, just sharing whatever comes to mind, swapping ideas. I feel like Bellara probably does most of the talking, but Viveka is 100% following along and will chime in every so often. If they've brought someone else along with them, they'll often be a bit ??? because these two are just like... bouncing conversation subjects. It goes from "Do you think we'll find xyz in the ruins?" to "omg do you think the dragons in the ruins are sad when we steal their treasure :( " to "wouldn't it be cool if we had wheels on our shoes??" in a span of minutes. They can keep up with each-other, phenomenally. Other people are sometimes a bit like ???? Wait, hold on, what??
On the battlefield, I think for most of the game Viveka tries to protect Bellara. She'll try her best to put herself between Bel and the threat, and let Bellara fire spells at range. However, post-Veilguard, I feel like Viveka is able to step back a little more. It becomes less about protecting Bellara and more about how they can best support each-other? So if Bellara is firing spells at range, Viveka is up close with her orb & dagger. After everything they went through in that finale, they both trust that the other can handle themselves in most situations-- and if they can't, that's when they've got each-other as backup :')

Writing Prompts
Hello!! Welcome to my prompts page!! On Fridays, I'll be taking prompts for the Dragon Age Drunk Writing Circle.
I'm happy to explore pretty much all the dynamics- platonic, romantic, antagonistic, I don't mind! I'm also happy to write platonic interactions between... anybody!! Or just single character-focused drabbles!!
I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort, and for fluffy little ficlets, so expect to see a lot of those.
This week I've been v much in the mood to write Coralie Hawke the last couple of days, so anything for her!
Also Eleri Tabris (+ optional Zevran). I've made Eleri & Zevran's kid as a Rook, I'm still getting a feel for them (which is why they aren't on this page atm!) but I kind of want to play around with Eleri post-DAO. I'm still not 100% sure what she gets up to, I just know she has a baby (Rook) who she leaves in an orphanage and then has Nothing to do with. So anything to help me figure out more of a timeline for her would be much appreciated!!
Prompts:
Anything in this tag is okay, but if you'd prefer some suggestions...
Maisie Peters lyrics prompts
Platonic sentence starters
Random angst starters
I'm working on a dedicated page for my OCs, but in the mean-time they're:
Eleri Tabris- duelist rogue, Zevran romance, convinced Alistair and Anora to rule together, spared Loghain. Eleri can be very soft-- she tends to be very understanding towards children, and people on the lower rungs of society. Amongst the nobility though--- she spent 99% of DA:O threatening violence to every nobleman she met. She trusts none of them. Noblewomen (and generally any nobles who aren't men) get a bit of a pass, but they are on thin ice. Loghain was the first one she offered a chance to (much to Alistair's dismay!!). He intrigues her, as someone who didn't grow up amongst the nobility. Her relationship with Zevran was sort of "slowly, and-then-all-at-once". In my game, it played out so that
Zevran's loyalty mission triggered on the way to rescue Anora from Arl Howe
Arl Howe is ofc in the palace where Eleri's extremely traumatic backstory took place, so she's just about not having a panic attack the whole time
I mis-clicked and Zevran offered her his earring during this mission. She said she only wanted it if it meant something. He reacted as he does (imo he lashes out here because this is his attempt at making their relationship transactional-- you helped me, I'll give you this. He understands transactional. He doesn't understand his feelings, and confronting them terrifies him)
Eleri gets taken to Fort Drakon before they can reconcile. Zevran is part of her rescue team
He then re-offered her the earring soon after. I think it worked well this way because I can say the fear of potentially losing her at Fort Drakon is what made him realise that he actually really does want to spend the rest of his life with her, if she'll have him (which she will ofc, she adores him)
Evangelina Cousland- champion warrior, Nathaniel Howe romance, convinced Alistair & Anora to rule together. Evangelina was actually inspired by a prompt I got here :') She ran away with me. Evangelina's life was planned out for her from the start. She was going to marry Thomas Howe, the son of her father's dear friend. She was going to be a lady, and host parties, and run Thomas' household. She was going to have lots of heirs, and wear the most beautiful dresses, and everyone was going to be so envious of her perfect, wonderful life. Of course, things don't work out that way. Arl Howe makes his move, killing Evangelina's entire family and taking them all by surprise. A Grey Warden happens to be visiting that day, and, well, you know the rest. Evangelina convinces Alistair to take the throne with Anora, and is unromanced going into Awakening-- where her childhood crush rival appears in her new/his former dungeon. I'm currently working on an AU where Evangelina does marry Thomas, and never becomes the HoF.
Neria Surana- spirit healer mage, Leliana romance, backed Anora for the throne, let Alistair kill Loghain. Neria's life before joining the Wardens was incredibly sheltered. The Circle is all she remembers. The world she encountered outside of Kinloch Hold is terrifying-- but so incredibly exciting, and honestly less scary than the older mages would've had her believe- darkspawn and all. She was drawn to Leliana, who had seen so much of the world already and who had so many fascinating stories to share. And slowly, over time, their nightly story-telling sessions evolved into something more. Post-DA:O their relationship is predominantly long-distance, although Leliana visits Neria wherever she's stationed when she can-- and once Leliana is made Divine, Neria suddenly has a lot of business to attend to in Orlais?? They snatch moments together when they can, and love each-other completely.
Coralie Hawke- purple f!Hawke mage, Anders romance, backed the mages, Carver is a Warden. Currently I'm working on a long-fic about Coralie where she escapes the Fade and builds her happily ever after with her found family. Generally, though-- humour is Coralie's coping mechanism. Since her father died, it's been her job to hold her family together. To keep them happy. And also, generally speaking-- if someone is laughing at her jokes, they aren't paying so much attention to the sparks dancing around her fingers. As her life and her family fall apart, she clings to her poorly-timed jokes like a raft. If she's laughing, it's okay. If people are smiling at her, she's alright. The mask only comes down amongst a few select people, and only in private. Essentially: she seems like the happiest, most confident person you've ever met, but she's actually held together with pieces of string and with hope.
Post-DAI, she moves to Rivain with Anders (+ Justice). They have three kids, Karla, Aura (twins), and Bethan. Karla and Aura are around ten during Veilguard; Bethan is born a few months before the game starts.
Hissera Imekari Adaar- necromancy mage, romanced Josephine, sided with the mages. She has several names. Hissera (hope) is the one that she identifies with most, although her parents used both it and Imekari (child) interchangeably throughout her childhood (with 'Immy' remaining their nickname for her, however old she gets). Adaar (weapon, fire-thrower) is the name she adopted when she started work as a merc-- there aren't many jobs in the Free Marches for a qunari mage. Hissera is somewhat awkward, especially around polite society. She puts a lot of effort into being lady-like, because she worries constantly about how her actions reflect back on Josie. Trying her best. Full of anxiety. Just wants everybody, in the entire world, to like her and be her friend.
MAJOR VEILGUARD SPOILERS BELOW !!!!!
Viveka Ingellvar- Mourn Watch death caller mage, romanced Bellara. She's a goth girl, she's always cracking jokes, and she loves her friends. She's also incredibly homesick all game bless her. On Tearstone Island, Bellara got taken by Elgnar'nan, and Viveka had a really, really rough time grappling with that in the regret prison. But it all worked out in the end ❤️
#This ended up super long bc I put little bios for all my OCs in there#at some point I'm planning on making a nice fancy page for them but not today#should I tag my OCs? I haven't been tagging them in anything like at All um#Eleri Tabris#Neria Surana#(I know I know it's the default-- but it's a nice name!!)#Coralie Hawke#Hissera Imekari Adaar#Viveka Ingellvar

Prompt Page
Hello!! And welcome <3 This page is set-up with Thedas Weekend in mind, and my intention is for it to be a fairly static prompt list. I make no promises, but generally speaking this is the stuff I either Will Not tire of writing any-time soon, or really really want to practice!!
If you're here for the DA Drunk Writing Circle, you can find my prompt page for that here. Because the writing period over there is much shorter, that prompt page is a bit more Subject To Whimsy (i.e. I change it up frequently, depending on my mood that day)
Currently I'm working on a long-fic about Ghilan'nain and Andruil, and I'd love to practice writing just, like, all the Elven gods for it. Please feel free to suggest any one/two/three/whatever of them along with one of the prompts in this tag. I mostly want to practice squashing them together in various combos and seeing what happens tbh.
Other than that, my OCs & also any other ships + some characters I'm always happy to write for are below!! I tend to bounce between which one(s) I'm in the mood for, but it always circles back around in the end so don't panic if you send a prompt and it takes me a little while to get to it.
I'm a lot more confident writing romance than I was at the start of the year now (a big THANK YOU to everyone who sent me prompts to help me practice!!) If you still wanna send me romantic prompts then feel free, but I'm more than open to everything, all the genres, etc.
Any of the prompts in this tag are fair game!

OC Info
I'll link some actual bios up above once I've actually finished getting them all sorted but!! Briefly!!
Eleri Tabris: duelist rogue. Has absolutely 0 patience for nobles, but all the time in the world for upset children. Spends the whole of Origins making Alistair so stressed by threatening to murder every influential person they meet, then proceeds to spare the 1 singular noble he'd actually love for her to kill.
Neria Surana: spirit healer mage. Sheltered bookworm who is caught SO off-guard by everything that happens in Origins, but tries her very best to be a hero. Leliana is initially intrigued by her perceived innocence and her joy at experiencing new things out in the world, and then gradually watches her gain her confidence and become the sort of figure she's read about in her history-books. And ofc they fall in love along the way ^_^
Evangelina Cousland: champion warrior. Evangelina has an AU where she's the HoF, but my main verse for her has her recruited by Eleri during Awakening. Her dream is to be Arlessa of Amaranthine and live at Vigil's Keep. She marries Thomas Howe young, the marriage is not a happy one, and when the Queen gifts Vigil's Keep to the Wardens, Evangelina is like "well I am not leaving :/" and does the Joining instead. She's had a crush on Nathaniel since she was 16. She will deny this, literally up to their wedding day.
Coralie Hawke: purple force mage. Coralie is constantly trying to hold everything together and it all just slips through her fingers like sand :') She just needs her family to stay together, and her friends to stay together, and everyone to just be happy please omg. I did eventually take pity on her and give her a happy ending. Post-DAI, she moves to Rivain with Anders & Justice, and they raise their 3 kids there.
Hissera Imekari Adaar: necromancy mage. Hissera is thrust into the role of Herald and, later, Inquisitor. She's naive, entirely too trusting, and if it wasn't for her friends rushing in to help she would've accidentally started 1000 diplomatic emergencies. She's happiest knee-deep in the dirt collecting plants to study. Terrible people-pleaser, will do anything for anybody with No second-thoughts, unless one of her friends is around to stop her.
Viveka Ingellvar: death-caller mage. Viveka collects mentor figures, and tbh can easily be swayed by anybody if they just compliment her. She realised she was in love with Bellara during Emmrich's recruitment mission. Their relationship is built on patience and trust, and on enabling each-other's chaotic schemes.
