sylphrena!💙 this has been in my wips for too long.. I’m always meaning to do more cosmere art but I’ve gotta catch up on the books first 😭 most of the way through rhythm of war rn, I’m nearly there!!

look i know the szeth prologue carries a lot of introductory information as to the magic system and how it can be used (and if there is one thing the cosmere in general excels at it is using the rules of a hard magic system in interesting ways for fight scenes) but it is so crazy that his internal monologue is so full of grief for what he is about to do and his first spoken line is "what am i? i'm sorry" and then he starts killing people in such an overcomplicated rube goldbergian way. why'd he lash a guy to the ceiling above an upright spear and just wait (fearspren spawning up around them) until the lashing broke and he impaled himself. you didnt have to do that man no one was around to see it

Just finished reading The Way of Kings and I want to give Kaladin a little kiss on his precious little forehead

I want to give Dalinar Kholin a sloppy, passionate smooch on the lips (with tongue)

I want to give Szeth a little kiss on his precious little forehead

I plan on continuing this comic, but my work is taking priority at the moment so i dont know when ill have time to do more.

So i figured id share what i have

i just finished words of radiance and my dudes this is probably the best fantasy book I’ve ever read

points about it:

. okay so mr kaladin “honor is dead but i’ll see what i can do” stormblessed carried this book, he is becoming one of my all time favorite characters

. my bestie shallan working the oathgate? revealing to dalinar that she is one of the radiants? i love her honesty

. my boy adolin killed sadeas, finally that slimy rat got what he deserved

. renarin????? truthwatcher????? i knew he was going to be important, i’m so happy for him

. moash my dude, i’m disappointed

. dalinar bonding with the stormfather, you go bondsmith!!

. the whole parshendi summoning the everstorm part was so freaking good

. kaladin saving everyone while revealing he’s radiant, not going to lie. i’ve cried a bit at that part

final consideration:

it is certainly one of the best fantasy books out there, sanderson manages to build the world and the characters so well. can’t wait for what oathbringer has in store for me.

kaladin stormblessed is relatable because of his attempts to struggle against a systemic evil greater than himself but he is also relatable for being a twenty something sadboy

sometimes i think i'm being too glib writing stormlight chatfic but then i relistened to the end of way of kings and this was a verbatim canon interaction

Dalinar: The whole kingdom needs you. Perhaps all of Roshar. The true desolation comes. Kaladin: What was that last part?  Dalinar: Nothing.

and then Kaladin left and got stew and didn't ask any follow up questions. these guys are near constantly concussed. if anything I don't write them saying out of pocket stuff enough
