Ultramarine's Bookwalker Guide
A (hopefully) simple guide to how to use Bookwalker! See my Ridibooks guide if you are interested in manhwas and Korean web-novels.
What is Bookwalker? Bookwalker is Kadokawa's official website/app for reading mangas and light novels! There, you can read your favorite series in Japanese, and also their official English translations. It's not region-locked, so anyone can use it!
Before continuing, here is something very important to consider: Bookwalker's website and app have two versions each, a Japanese one and a Global one. The Japanese version has, well, all the mangas and light novels in the original Japanese. Meanwhile, the Global version has official English licenses.


Global version of the app (the one that you'll be able to download, unless you have a Japanese Google account) vs the Japanese browser version. Of course, you can also access the Global version in your browser.

This is relevant because you'll only be able to find WMMAP's (or any other series') Japanese edition on Bookwalker's Japanese version. If Bookwalker doesn't have the translation rights for the series in particular, you won't be able to find it on its Global version. Such is the case for WMMAP, licensed by Seven Seas (Maybe one day this will change).

Alright, alright, but how do I use Bookwalker? As with any other platform, you first need to make an account (top-right corner of your screen, 👤 icon). A nice thing about Bookwalker is that you can register using your Google, Twitter, Facebook, or Apple account! If you are using Bookwalker's Japanese version, I recommend using Chrome or other browsers with a MTL function, so the page is easier for you to navigate.
Buying mangas and light novels. Once again, I'll use WMMAP as an example. As I said above, if the series you want to purchase doesn't have an English version distributed by Bookwalker (such as WMMAP's case), you won't find it on its Global version, no matter if you are using the website or the app. Searching 「ある日、お姫様になってしまった件について」 or "Who Made Me A Princess" on the Global platforms won't give you any results.
Similarly, because of these copy-right issues, you won't be able to find any English translations on the Japanese version of the website.
So, tl;dr, we need to use Bookwalker JP! Once you have your account (which will work on both Bookwalker versions, Japanese and Global), you'll be able to search for 「ある日、お姫様になってしまった件について」 (WMMAP's Japanese title), and buy any of the 9 Japanese volumes released so far. Unlike Ridibooks, here you can only buy WMMAP's full volumes (ebooks), not chapters. The prices will vary depending on the volume, but they are all around 1,000 yen (older volumes are cheaper, and there are often sales).
Using the Japanese version might also be convenient in general because of the favorable dollar-yen exchange rate.

Bookwalker's Coins. As with most manga platforms, Bookwalker has its own currency that you need to buy to then purchase any manga or light novel. It works in the same way as Tapas' ink and Tappytoon's points. The coins are worth almost the same as yen, but with a 1% accumulation rate. Selecting the "buy coins" option in your user profile will allow you to recharge the currency.
There, you can choose how much you want to recharge. Another nice thing about Bookwalker is that it accepts overseas credit cards (see the picture for the ones that work) and Paypal! Also, remember to check the purchase confirmation. After that, you just write your credit card/Paypal information, and you should be ready to buy your favorite manga or light novel!

If you want to use Bookwalker's Global version to purchase a series in English (as I said, you won't be able to find WMMAP here, please keep this in mind, or you could waste your money), the system is very similar, you have to buy "Points" in USD. Pictures for reference.

Once you have already purchased WMMAP, you'll be able to find it in your library (📚 icon).
You can filter out other books writing 「ある日、お姫様になってしまった件について」 in the search bar!
Also very important information: You will be able to read WMMAP on Bookwalker's Global version too (be it the website or the app) if you have already purchased it on the Japanese site. In the pictures shown above you can see screenshots of said app. At the bottom, you have your library, where all books you have bought are organized according to their date of acquisition. Here you will be able to read anything you have bought, in English or Japanese. It's only to buy Japanese titles that you have to specifically use the Japanese site, but only for purchasing purposes. After that, you'll be able to read it on any of Bookwalker's versions.

Boeing accelerates sending 1,000 smart bombs to Israel after Hamas attacks

Boeing accelerated the delivery of 1,000 smart bombs to Israel as the country intensifies retaliation against Hamas after the devastating weekend attack that killed hundreds of people, industry and defense officials said.
The 250-pound small diameter bombs, part of a 2021 contract, were transported from a U.S. Air Force base by Israeli Air Force transport, according to an industry official who asked not to be identified when discussing the agreements.
A senior defense official who spoke to reporters on Monday said that the ammunition sent in a hurry to Israel was not part of a “foreign military sale” between governments, but rather part of a “direct commercial sale” between the contractor and Israel that was already underway.
A second defense officer said on Tuesday that the first officer was referring to accelerated transactions as part of a May 2021 direct commercial sale between Boeing and Israel, which the State Department estimated at $735 million over several years. It also includes kits to convert unguided bombs into GPS-guided Joint Direct Attack Ammunition. No JDAM kit has been sent yet, said one employee.

The weapons, which can be launched by Israeli jets more than 64 kilometers away - each aimed at specific targets - "provide the means to accurately target terrorists in Gaza, while minimizing civilian casualties," said Brad Bowman, a military analyst at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, which monitors military issues in the Middle East. He said this is an important capability, considering that Hamas holds Israeli hostages.
The May 2021 sale was controversial when Congress was notified by the Biden administration. Senator Bernie Sanders and some members of the House acted to block the proposal to sell in protest against the Israeli attacks in Gaza at the time, but the proposal was not voted on, according to the Congressional Investigation Service.
A Boeing spokesman did not want to comment. According to a U.S. Air Force information leaflet, the small size of the Small Diameter Pump (SDB) “inherently reduces the likelihood of collateral damage”.
Separately, the Biden administration is expected to announce new arms supplies to Israel, which receives more than $3 billion in U.S. military aid every year.

They recently announced on Twitter that the official publishing house behind it, Hualing Publishing House, would cease sales of this novel by April 22, 2027…so if anyone is interested in having a physical copy of an intense and amazing baihe story, this is your time!!
I assume based on the name that Hualing Publishing House is referring specifically to the Chinese version of the novel rather than the official English translation by Monogatari Novels, which has—from my memory—had mixed results in getting things published.
So while I know it may not make a lot of sense to have a Chinese copy of a novel if you can’t read Chinese, if you’re passionate about supporting stories featuring f/f relationships and want to get into baihe, you could get a copy for the aesthetic of it—as long as you want to! 🥺
You can buy all four volumes of the novel on Taobao here, and it’s about 139 RMB ($27.59 CAD) for all of them.

But I also understand that it’s very hard and even makes little sense to buy a novel in Chinese if you don’t know Chinese and do not live in China, so here’s the main thing I wanted to suggest people check out today if they’d like to support Jing Wei Qing Shang!:
According to the official Twitter account, they are halting production of season 2 of the audio drama due to external issues and the audio drama will be taken down from MissEvan aka MaoEr FM on November 30, 2027.
This means after November 30, 2027, there will be no way to buy the Jing Wei Qing Shang audio drama because it will be off the shelves, but listeners who already bought the audio drama will still have their own personal copy that they bought and can still listen to it (this has happened to other audio dramas whose licenses expire and aren’t popular enough to renew).
Thankfully, MissEvan aka MaoEr FM is very easy to use as a foreigner (beyond the issue of the language barrier), so I really recommend checking it out! Best part is, every audio drama has Chinese subtitles that can be machine-translated!
First, I’ll leave a guide on how to use MaoEr FM: here’s a video version and a text version from Tumblr and a Twitter version.
Here’s also a doc guide on how to top up on MaoEr FM, although this version may mention requiring AliPay to do so…but right now, you can actually use foreign payment systems as well (for example, I use Apple Pay).
Essentially, MaoER FM—known as MissEvan in English—can be found in the app store and is not very restrictive in how you make an account. You can then use it as you would any other app where you make digital payments, without requiring a Chinese phone number or payment system.
Then after you’ve set up your account according to the tutorials I linked above and you’ve topped up for diamonds in your account, you can search up “泾渭情殇” in the search bar. The first result will be the entire first season of the Jing Wei Qing Shang audio drama.
It will have a yellow button saying how many diamonds it costs (I believe it’s around 239 diamonds, which should be 23.90 RMB if my dyscalculic ass isn’t mistaken, or $4.45 CAD. Yes, the audio dramas are quite cheap, especially if your country has a strong currency!).
And after you’ve purchased it, here’s a convenient aspect of how you can understand the audio drama even if you don’t speak Chinese!:
Every MaoEr FM audio drama comes with subtitles (there are two kinds, but either way they all come with subtitles, as do all Chinese media), and if you open the audio drama on a browser, you can use your browser’s machine translation feature to turn the subtitles into English.
So for example:
Search up “MissEvan” on your web browser on your laptop or PC, and then log in. Then you can search up the audio drama 泾渭情殇 or open it using this link, and when you click to listen to an episode, enable your browser’s machine translation (so for Google, it would be Google Translate), and all the Chinese subtitles will get machine-translated into English.
Then you can listen to the audio drama and understand it, thus making the most of your purchase! ^^
