Fave: ability to do things they usually wouldn't be able to do. They were able to fly to see family more often early in their marriage.

Least: People assuming things about them basically. Sometimes she felt she wasn't accurately portrayed due to editing long hours down.

When did you wear pants for the first time:

She got a pair of goodwill jeans. She wore pants for the first time on her honeymoon.

Did you always know you would have a large family:

They always knew they wanted a large family due to their family sizes. When she first got married she wanted 10 kids.

Are you finished having children:

"I'm pretty sure." On a date with John last week, she asked how he felt about another one. He said she could do what she wanted. The next day, they go out with all 5 kids and said nevermind.

Will you ever move back to Tennessee:

Never say never but it seems like never lol.

Would you ever cut your hair to your shoulders:

She did that after having Allie but she doesn't like how her face looks with short hair.

She calls Addie and Ellie the most

How do you get private time with your hubby:

Maci and Rhett go to bed at 7:30 and the older girls have to go to their rooms at 7:30. They read until 8:30 or 9.

Would you allow your kids to go to secular college:

She doesn't care but they need to know what they want to do before they go so they don't switch from thing to thing.

Height and comparing herself to how she was before Rhett

No. Realistically with 18 siblings and 10ish in-laws, there will be conflict. She is "friendly and cordial with everyone".

She doesn't care about denomination if the church teachings align with the Bible.

She has loose plans to go back in Nov.

This is going to sound crazy, but do we know if either John or his brothers have thought about following their father into politics? I know Alyssa said they were stepping back from YouTube because they wanted to give the girls privacy to grow up off camera, but what if a secondary motive was to keep the family narrative on politics?

I'm assuming John's congressman dad hooked her up with this? But yea, Alyssa goes to Melania Trump's first lady luncheon, calls it the "trip of a lifetime", yet turns her comments off 🤭 because she should be allowed to practice bigotry without anyone commenting on it

Also, it doesn't really matter but this outfit girl.............1. Your dress is dragging on the ground, tailor it or get higher heels because this screams prom, not luncheon 2. That thick leather apple watch band with that lacy pastel number is a choice. I guess it shouldn't be shocking that a Trump supporter would make bad decisions, though.

AU where Dick rates food and movies on DickRates.com (As a troll because he's discovered friend and staff member Floyd Talbert has created a personal dating website while he's on base at Ford Dix. Dick thinks it a fitting punishment for getting them in trouble with the boss.) and it goes viral because it sounds like a porn site but it's really about ice cream? And movies? Dick's bored, he's stuck behind a desk in the Army, so this is what he does in his spare time, eating by himself and taking notes.

And now Lewis Nixon, THE guy who writes those descriptions of whiskey for the catalog, (Vat is a blended Scotch with a light, very fresh and slightly spicy taste profile that includes almonds, pears, caramel and spice) finds out about it. It's all over social media, and he's always browsing for new whiskey to try. He's bored, recently divorced, and DYING to know if he took a porn domain on purpose or is Amish and doesn't realize what he did.

What ensues is Nix plotting out all the locations Dick has had ice cream, dinner, or seen movies, and trying to determine where he will go next. He's obsessed with his simple and kinda judgy ratings of everything. Dick ends up going to Ranger school and a bunch of other training things so he throws him with random snacking around America but he's pretty sure this guy is in South Jersey somewhere.

And the bastard doesn't allow submissions or comments on his website so Nix has got to track him down, in person, and pretend he's just some guy walking his wiener dog and looking for ice cream.

Websters Leaving Youtube

John Webster and Alyssa Bates Webster put out a video today. They are leaving Youtube.

Notes on the video:

They don't mind hateful comments directed at them but the kids are getting older and need privacy. They don't want them to have to read mean comments about themselves.

Allie is 10 and about to be a teenager. They fear having teenagers-to-be on Youtube is not productive.

John especially enjoyed doing Q&As.

They might post big events but no promises.

They are still going to do Instagram but post less.

Who is Moeyer?

Okay, so after reading this post by @ww2yaoi I naturally got curious and wanted to take a crack at it on my own. I knew that both Mr and Mrs. Ohl were both bigshots in the Atlanta newspaper world, since the first letter mentioned Atlanta, I assumed it must've been a friend of theirs, or at least a connection somewhere. So I went looking. and to my surprise I found this:

An article (a whole fricking page) written in the pov of a little 4-year old Joan Ohl, (web's mom) where she references Mrs Ohl as her Moeyer, in the newspaper both her parents are editors for. (I assume Moeyer is some kind of bastardisation of moeder/mutter/mother)

now the second letter mentions this: "December already... I can't forget Joanny and Moeyer." so like the post said, Something must've happened to Moeyer in either dec. '42 or '43. So I looked up when Mrs. Ohl passed away and wouldn't you know it:

Mrs. Ohl passed away in early January, close enough to December isn't it?

with that I will say: Case Closed. Moeyer is Webster's grandmother, Mrs. Maude Ohl.

i saw a few days ago Alyssa Webster said she's taking a "step back" from sharing family content on YouTube (i was going to post about it but forgot, fortunately someone messaged and reminded me)

it sounds like the main reason is because her oldest child is getting to the age where they can access the internet and read what's been said about herself and her family, which obviously isn't good for any developing brain (esp in the fundie corners of the internet). and obviously that's a great reason to cut back, i genuinely hope they do that and stick to it.

i would also hope Alyssa's siblings with kids (mainly Carlin, Josie, and Katie) might take note of this and take it to heart, that having their kids *so* online can be detrimental in multiple ways, but i don't think they will. it will always baffle me how willing they are to plaster their young kids all over the internet without any thought of the future, or how this will make their kids feel when they're 10, 12, 15 etc.
