I like Emily cave but the fact that she moved on real quick after her husband died is fucked up…

Emily’s grief is a little complicated for me and I don’t want to say how anyone should grieve the loss of a loved one but I lost my boyfriend a few years back and It took me a good few years to think about dating again.

Everyone is different and the fact that she had to go through it in lockdown may have had an impact. I know she doesn’t speak to Colby’s family at all and there must be a reason for that but I however find it quite disrespectful that she plans on using their family name in her new marriage (that’s my personal opinion) as much as Colby gave it to her, they aren’t married after she marries someone else. Using the name while widowed is one thing but after you marry someone else? It rubs me the wrong way.

She made a post yesterday about how someone commented something about how she has a career because she’s utilized her husbands death and she said she hasn’t.

All Emily’s content is, was and I assume will continue to be about Colby’s death. She wrote a book about it, she posts about hockey constantly and it’s about how it triggers her, every little thing about her online presence is about him and his death. Which is fine but don’t act like that’s not how you’re making a living now.

She compares her new fiancé to Colby a lot and says they would’ve been friends and how Colby would like him — probably not he’s banging his wife.

I have no ill feelings towards her and I really am happy to see her happy, I do feel she was engaged very quickly and they planned their wedding down to the caterer already which makes me think it was heavily spoken about prior. I hope she moves out of Edmonton and into a new life with Colin, because holding onto hockey and Edmonton as a whole clearly isn’t good for her.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they got pregnant in the months following their wedding. I feel a lot of this is trying to play catch up which is sad because it shouldn’t be that way, Colby should be here still.
