He felt restless.
He didn't knew why.
His heart was somewhere else.
But he didn't knew why.
His feet carried away on it's own, his hazel eyes unfocused, hands deep into his jeans' pocket. His mind jumbled up with the loud thoughts of why is it happening?
Suddenly, his feet halted at the beautiful melody which invaded his ears. Whipping his head around, he realized that he was at the banks of Ganga, and the water with the melody immediately calmed his mind but piqued an interest. Who was this?
Following the sound of the tune, his feet carried him to a wall, where on the top podium a Girl was dancing. Dressed in a pain white chikankari Kurta and leggings, her feet were wrapped up by the Ghunghroos of a Dancer, and the chiming of Bells was rhyming with the song coming out of her phone.
Unaware of the listener, the girl kept dancing and her thick wavy hairs flew with wind, and as if the wind changed it's tide according to the melody, it started blowing a little harshly as she hit the high note, removing all the hairs of her face, and he was starstruck by the women sat there.
The small red dot on her forehead looked more brightened over her fair face, and those kohl coloured eyes? They were definitely like that of a doe. So beautiful, yet so dangerous.
Tumblr media
Ambika couldn't blink.
It was as if she couldn't hear the bells, the sound of drums and conches, the chant in the name of holy river Ganga, or the very thundering claps of the devotees. She forgot how to breath.
She forgot everything, the moment her eyes clashed with his.
Illuminated by the pious fire of camphor, holding the aarti in his hands, wearing off yellow Dhoti with golden work at the border, and his broad forehead painted with three white lines and a small vermilion circle in between, his eyes glimmered with complete devotion as he sang the hymn and rotated the holy fire.
Ambika couldn't believe what she was seeing, the distant sound of the Shankhanaad making her chest rising up and down rapidly as tears blurred her eyes. Her senses were overwhelmed as she suddenly turned and pushed Maatangi, Debadrita and Ruchika away, and ran away as she ignored their calls, her blurry eyes somehow seeing the busy path as she tried to block the loud sound and flashes in her mind away.

Guide to 90's-2000's desi aesthetic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want to be more like Aishwarya Rai from Dil ka Rishta or Amrita Rao from Vivah, this guide is for you.
Clothes
1. Go for fitted traditional dresses be it kurta, suit or even long dresses. They should be tailored to your sizes. Choose fabrics like chiffon and georgette.
2. Choose pastel colors or bright colors. Never dull colors.
3. Make it as simple as possible. If you are opting for a kurta set, your duppata should be plain, the kurti can be plain or some simple embroidery or chikankari or some other work can also go. The bottom again should be plain devoid of any work. Make sure you are wearing the same color top to bottom.
Makeup
Simplicity is the key for this aesthetic. Don't overdo anything. Keep your makeup as natural as possible.
Apply foundation and concealer to hide any acne or pigmentation. Nothing else.
Wear nude lipstick and add lipgloss to it.
Same with eyes. Nude eyeshadow or avoid it if you want to. Finish with eyeliner.
Hair
If you have straight hair, this aesthetic works for you. I, personally think, straight hair gives very polished, neat look and this is why the aesthetic works.
Don't worry if you have wavy or curly hair. To achieve that put together look, you can tie up your hair in braids or in a bun or ponytail. If you want to leave it open, what I do is, I frame my hair to my face and then tuck the rest of the hair behind. it works for me cause I have bangs so they stay on the front, rest of the hair behind. Otherwise you could always straighten your hair.
Jwellery
Again, simplicity is the key. Wear a small bindi matching your clothes or you can even wear that shiny one.
Either wear earrings or a necklace set. I mostly prefer earrings but if you want to wear both, make sure they are the small dainty ones.
You can also wear simple set of chudis in both hands matching the color of your clothes.
Mannerism
This is the most important in my eyes. You can look like Aishwarya Rai from Dil ka Rishta but the way you handle the look is the most important.
Ever wondered why Laxman was suddenly interested in Sanju in Mai Hoon Na? It wasn't just her wearing indian that did it neither it was the straightened hair.
She looked put together, more feminine after her makeover. She leaned into her feminine energy.
Be elegant, graceful, expressive. Smile more. Talk softly. Walk properly. Own your outfit with confidence.
Imagine you are Shantipriya yourself from Om Shanti Om, I don't care. Even the lookalike of Shanti had to learn her mannerism. You can do it do.
At the end I would say experiment. I would suggest at first, get your clothes tailored. Make your outfit. See what works and what doesn't. If you are shy about your arms get sleeves. If you are slender and have hourglass figure, go for long bodycon dresses and pair it with duppatta. Research and see what type of necklines, back, straps, etc works for you.

@kanhapriya you were very excited for this. I hope you don't mind me tagging you and hope this reaches your expectations
=================================
It all started on late afternoon a week ago when Lakshmi got a call from Ram.
"Do you have holi appropriate clothing for Dhuleti celebration?" He'd asked her after all the pleasantries.
And so had begun the lecture on the huge difference between Holi and Dhuleti and how her husband loathes wearing white on Holi and how it's reductive to wear a whole new spotless white outfit only for it to get drenched in colours of all kinds. Lakshmi had agreed, obviously, he was being very logical about it.
And thus began the search for ratty-but-respectable clothes for Lakshmi to wear on the Dhuleti celebration which would be held at the palace grounds and would be grander than ever as it is their first celebration after their marriage and Lakshmi's organisation for animals, Shashwat, will be the beneficiary of the event income.
Lakshmi is sure that Veer, Ram's manager, tattled on them to Maharani Radha.
Maa and Ram have been discussing the same with each other for the past ten minutes and now the conversation has shifted to a half Gujarati, half Hindi mix that Lakshmi doesn't even bother to follow.
Matar paneer is a better focal point, in her very humble opinion.
"You both are going to be in the spotlight, that's why I'm trying to shove some sense into you!" Maa says, glaring at Ram. She turns to Lakshmi,"You understand what I'm saying, beta, don't you? Wear your old clothes next year, it's your choice, but forgive me some grey hair this year, please."
"But, Mummy, it's a waste of time and resources to buy new clothes only to wear them once!" Ram replies, absently adding some salt to his matar paneer.
"Then I'll make a pochaa out of your clothes, bloody! Do as your mother says, for once, child!"
Lakshmi snickers and Maa gives her a conspiratory smirk while Ram looks on in betrayal.
Lakshmi shifts the conversation to the previous Dhuleti celebrations and what she should expect from them to save her husband some strife.
She often forgets he is a menace on his own.
____________________________________________________
If she didn't trust him more, Lakshmi would say that Ram is mostly doing this because he's trying to give Veer an aneurysm.
He found some of his old clothes that already have stains on them. The stains are minor, Lakshmi will admit freely. He likely forgot those clothes exist at all after putting them aside and Veer likely hid them away so Ram wouldn't insist on wearing them.
Lakshmi notes that all the stained kurtas are suspiciously floral printed.
She looks at Veer in suspicion, but he's too flustered trying to stop Ram from noticing her look.
"Your highness, please," Veer says, trying hysterically to stop Ram in a way that wouldn't end up with Ram tripping,"Your mother will be furious with me!"
"What is one to do, Veer?" Ram asks dramatically, taking a split second look at Lakshmi as she walks beside him,"My wife and I need clothes for Dhuleti and Mummy wouldn't let us wear our home clothes. I must settle for my older clothes and my darling and most understanding wife must settle for wearing my kurta."
"These are already stained," Lakshmi adds her two cents, absolutely enjoying the feel of a particular chikankari kurta in her hands that she will surely steal for comfort purposes,"This way, we will maintain decorum and also be more environmentally aware!"
Veer's eyes widen. "Not you too, your highness! Please, you know these clothes were set aside for donation."
"Yes, of course," she replies, pretending to be incredulous,"We're not going to wear all of these kurtas together, Veer, come on."
Ram stops in front of a door and pushes it open with his foot, hands loaded with different kurtas and t-shirts.
The people inside the laundry room all freeze as they see the Crown prince, the prince consort, and the crown prince's manager enter the laundry room; of which, the couple have various clothes in their arms.
An older woman comes rushing towards them with two empty baskets. Lakshmi somehow manages to grasp one of the baskets and puts it on the ground, dumping the clothes from her arms to the basket.
"Gently, please!" Ram calls out dramatically again,"I love my clothes as much as I love you!"
Lakshmi raises an eyebrow.
"Not as much, obviously, I misspoke." He corrects himself sheepishly, painstakingly putting the clothes in his arms in the basket one by one. Lakshmi decides to be petty enough to not help him.
"Your highness, you? Here?" The woman doesn't seem to be able to process what exactly is happening and Lakshmi pities her.
"We are so sorry to barge in on your work like that," she says,"We just have some clothes to wash and we'll be out of your hair as soon as possible. I am Lakshmi and you are?"
"Kalpana, your highness. Here, I'll take the clothes and return them to you."
"You don't have to do that at all, Kalpana ji," Ram says, making the poor woman freeze mid motion. "Mahadev has given us a couple of hands each, we can wash the clothes ourselves, if you'd only be so gracious to guide us to an empty washing machine."
Kalpana fumbles and looks at Veer for a split second before moving aside and leading them to a corner with an empty washing machine. Lakshmi smiles at her in thanks. "Thank you, Kalpana ji. You can go back to your work, we shan't delay you anymore."
She nods wordlessly and moves away. Veer continues to look in with trepidation as Ram and Lakshmi push up the sleeves of their tshirts.
Ram gives her a grin that tells her just how much he's enjoying this and Lakshmi, with agreement of the other workers, plays old Bollywood songs while the machine is on.
Ram drags her in a makeshift ballroom dance and she laughs at his dramatics, absolutely besotted with her husband.
____________________________________________________
Ram wears his bleached and washed white shirt and Lakshmi wears one of his floral kurtas for Dhuleti.
Maa sighs and smiles tiredly at the two of them.

The Foreign Queen, Part 6
Aemond Targaryen x Fem!Reader
Summary: Aemond learns to speak Hindi, and that you have been hiding a lot more than you had let on.
Word Count: 2.5k
A/N: Not proofread. Also this might be the last chapter in a few days because I have finals :( and i probably wouldn't be able to update. Also I don't really like how this turned out, but I'll let you know if I ever redo this.

Tumblr media
You had spent the better part of the week trying to teach Aemond Hindi. He had picked it up surprisingly fast with all the time he had spent in your camps - something that made you respect him even more. But his understanding of Hindi was not a problem - the problem was that his accent was too thick. It became easier to interpret the more he spoke, and he didn’t have much time to master it either. And you had barely any time to teach him the proper writing. The young man could barely even read hindi, the script totally unfamiliar to him.
Now it was time to go talk with your father, the emperor. Alicent had been persistent, and honestly you couldn’t blame her. In this game of thrones, anything left to probability could mean major losses and/or death. It was a dangerous gamble that she played, sending her second son away; what if you were sided with the Blacks and were plotting to kill him? That would mean the loss of one of the best fighters on the Greens, something they could not take.
You looked at the young man sitting in front of you, nose stuck in the small leather bound book you had gifted him for his reading. He was in his signature black leather tunic, one leg crossed over the other on the armchair by the fireplace in the castle’s isolated library. You were dressed in a light green chikankari kurti feeling relaxed as you watched Aemond’s sharp face: he was a great fighter, and in a fair battle it would be a good challenge to subdue him, but you had no intentions of it, for he hadn’t given you a reason to yet.
“This is a legend or is it history?” Aemond asked.
“Which one are you reading?”
“The one with Bhagwan Ram went hunting Maareech,” He said.
“It depends on your belief,” You said, shrugging. “There is some evidence of the events being true, and I, for one, believe that it's based on true events, but with modification as the ages come to pass.”
“Hmm,” He acknowledged, then returned to burying his nose in the little book. You hadn’t told him yet, but you had written the pages yourself in two days and had the parchment bound by one of your best book-makers available.
While he practised Hindi, you went to explore the seemingly abandoned library. The front parts of the library seemed frequented, it was clean and arranged in order by subject. Tales of Old Valyria, How Aegon the Conqueror won Westeros, the Social Order, An Expansive History of Westeros and Essos, Maegor Targaryen: The Cruel, The Mystery of Life and Death, Aegon and Conqueror and His Sister-Wives, The Old Gods, The New Gods, Dragons: From Hatchling to Fighter…
There were many, many more. But these were the books with the most worn spines. As you further wandered into the library, you saw many old texts - some in High Valyrian, others in English.
As you wandered, you reached a much secluded, dust covered corner of the library, your eyes wandered as you scanned the books. Liberation, one of the titles said. Curious, you touched the dusty spine of the book and pulled it out, the soft leather creased at the bottom. It looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages.
You turned over the delicate pages, trying not to damage the old book, when you saw a mildly scandalising image drawn on the margin. It was the drawing of a beautiful naked woman, her face contorted in pleasure and her hand touching herself. You skimmed over the page, the crass descriptions of the pleasures of the flesh filled your mind. Your body heated up at your scandalous discovery, and a loud sneeze escaped you as the dust particles tickled your nose.
You skimmed over the other pages, finding far more detailed explanations of the sex acts - involving vivid descriptions of the female and the male body parts that left nothing to the imagination. The use of the mouth, the hands, and pleasure points other than the genitalia - everything was there. This chapter held the crass use of the tongue as a muscle to pleasure your partner-
The sound of your name on Aemond’s mouth snapped you out of the reverie - and every cell in your body seemed to be set on fire. You looked up at him, snapping the book shut, and sneezing once again as the dust bothered your nose.
Aemond studied you with his one eye, waiting for you to say something. You cleared your throat, trying to find the words to describe your discovery without crossing any etiquette lines, but you were unsuccessful. You had words to describe different ways to kill a man but no words for the carnal acts.
“You look like you’ve been caught doing something morbid,” He finally said at your flushed state.
“I am scandalised,” You said, clearing your throat once again. “This is…” you just handed him the book, gauging his reaction. His eyebrow furrowed as he scanned the pages quickly, a tinge of crimson appearing on the sharp planes of his face as realisation dawned on him. He too cleared his throat then put the book away.
“Let’s not dwell on it,” He said, avoiding your gaze the entire time.
“Tell me, my Prince,” you started. “How long will it take your Vhagar to fly to the green island of Essos?”
“Might take two and ten hours or so of flight,” he said, pale cheeks still tinged pink.
“Do you trust Vhagar to follow you if we were to dismount her?” You asked, forcing the embarrassment out of your nerves.
.
Early next morning you said see you later to your people, left Raman in-charge during your absence, hugged Alicent, then mounted Vhagar with Aemond’s help and flew into the cool morning air with your potential husband.
Last evening, Aemond had taken you to meet Vhagar - given that the old beast didn’t attack you, you were content - and now she let you ride her, and for that you kept silently thanking her, scratching her scales that you could reach from the saddle. Your front was pressed into Aemond’s back - you were a little surprised on feeling his firm muscles. As you got used to the cold air slapping your face, you eased into it, sighing as you extended your arms and pretended to fly.
“This is so fun!” You screamed over the wind howling in your ears.
“I know!” Aemond yelled, sound the happiest that you had ever heard him.
After a while your arms tired and you got cold, the fog dampening your leather riding clothes. You rubbed your hands together in the little space between your chest and Aemond’s back, your teeth chattering.
“Are you cold, my princess?” He asked, having to scream to be heard over the wind.
“Only a little,” you managed to say, unsure of how much he heard with the howling wind and the chattering of your teeth.
“Hold on to me,” Aemond said after a moment. “It’ll give you warmth,”
You hesitated for a moment, the need for warmth overpowering the desire to maintain proper etiquette. Even with the cold, he was still warm and you supposed, the blood of the dragon is hot. With your cheek pressed against his shoulder and the smell of leather, parchment and smoke taking over you as you felt the firm muscles of his stomach, your body warmed for a different reason altogether.
Now, the sun was dipping in the horizon as you spotted your destination for the night. Aemond commanded Vhagar to land on the easternmost coast and she followed. You stretched out your tight limbs and went to relieve yourself as Aemond made sure that Vhagar was fed and comfortable. When you returned, you thanked Vhagar and scratched lightly at her massive head, and the she-beast purred, shaking the ground below you.
You and Aemond quickly made camp in a makeshift tent using the thin leather and cotton canvas you had brought along with you. You fell asleep beside Vhagar’s protection and Aemond’s warm back against yours, exhausted from the day of flying. Tomorrow morning, you would show him what it was like to ride a foreign beast, eager to get back your vritra, Mansha. You should tell Aemond beforehand about your three-headed friend, lest it scares him away.
When Aemond woke up the next morning, he missed your absence. You were knee deep in water, the two pointer fingers held up to your mouth and you whistled, the sound loud and piercing to his ears. Vhagar’s massive body rumbled at the disturbance, shaking the ground below him.
His scar itches, and he wants to take off his eye-patch, but he stops himself. He wasn’t ready for that just yet. Before he could raise his hands to scratch the itch, a massive form arose from the water. Aemond’s eye widens as three massive sea serpents come out of the water, closer to where you are standing, a crazed grin on your face. He hears you cackle like a maniac as the three serpents lurch toward you and the scream is more instinct than thought reaction.
Vhagar rises from her slumber, fangs bared and yellow eyes wide open as she sees the serpents, rises and snaps her jaw. The three serpents hiss back in return, their long forked tongues straight out of nightmares. He yells your name, demanding that you get back to safety, behind Vhagar, that he can deal with those serpents himself, when the sight before him stuns him to stillness.
“Mansha,” You call, your tone chiding. “They are friends,” you say in hindi, and he thinks you sound so different than when you speak in english. It rolls off your tongue easily, and he had spent hours thinking about your voice over and over.
“Vhagar, lykiri,” Aemond said, stroking her side. Sensing his confusion, she closes her jaw, but her yellow eyes are deeply focused on the three serpents.
“Mansha,” you call once again, and the three serpents snap their heads towards you, suddenly calm and inching closer. “I know, I missed you too,” you speak in hindi once again. As the three serpents rise out of the water, Aemond is stunned to see that it was in fact one snake, but with three heads. Its scales are pastel - light blue, mixing into green, mixing into purple. The serpent is large: each long head wide enough to be Vhagar’s tail, and he estimates it to be about thirty feet long.
Its beauty is terrifying, he thinks, much like yourself.
“Aemond,” you call, and his heart softens a little when he hears the sound of his name on your tongue, absent of any titles. He’s still wary of the serpent though. “Meet my vritra, her name is Mansha.” you said in english. “Mansha, meet Aemond and Vhagar, they are our friends.” you add in Hindi. One head is fixed on you, another is fixated on him, and the third one eyes Vhagar. The three heads have different eyes: the one on you is red, the one on him is yellow, and the one on Vhagar is black.
“What is vritra?” Aemond asked.
“Vritras are beasts, demons of the sea.” You explained with a smile on your face. “You have dragons, we have sea serpents.”
“This is the similarity you mentioned the other night,” He recalled.
“Indeed,” You said. “All of the descendants of the first emperor are free to claim their vritra once they turn twelve. I happened to claim the fastest and the most vicious of them all, the only one with three heads. Isn’t she beautiful?” you cooed at Mansha.
“She is lovely,” Aemond tried to speak in Hindi, and you flash him a proud smile at his correct pronunciations. “Now what?”
“Now we both go to my queendom, Kalinga, and we invite my father.” You said.
“What do you mean by your queendom?” Aemond asked. He knew it, deep in his gut, that you were more powerful than you had let on, but this was shocking. Apparently today was the day that the ever-observant Aemond would be left stupefied.
“My father is the emperor of Bharat.” You said. “Kalinga is the east-coast province, and I am the Queen of Kalinga.”
“Well then, I must apologise for addressing you wrongly this whole time, My Queen.” He said, bowing. “Or would you prefer Your Grace?”
“I like the sound of My Queen,” you said, giving him a shy smile, as if you weren’t just cooing at a serpent who could kill anyone in three ways. “My prince,”
“And how exactly do we reach Kalinga?” He asked, already dreading the answer.
“We ride Mansha,” you said, the maniacal gleam returning to your face.
“And what of Vhagar?” Aemond asked, piecing together little bits of your earlier conversations.
“Vhagar follows us.” You said. “She can only rest on the coast, I don’t think I have clearings big enough to keep her.”
.
Reluctantly, Aemond throws one leg over Mansha’s thick body and sits behind you, hands slipping on the serpent’s beautiful scales. The salt water was irritating his scar, and wanted nothing more than to rip the patch off. And he did. He didn’t let you see that, but he removed his eye patch and instead gathered his silver hair in the leather, tightening the strap.
“Ready?” You asked, voice cheery. He wondered if he sounded like that whenever he got to ride Vhagar.
“Yeah,” Aemond said, swallowing his fears.
“Hold on to me.” You said, voice heavy with warning. “Tightly.”
His stomach dropped as the serpent slithered into the water, barely keeping you above the surface. He was terrified, but the adrenaline was welcome, and he forced his eye to stay open and take in the massive ocean, deadly as it was beautiful.
In some ways, it wasn’t too different from riding Vhagar, but it just didn’t give him the same thrill. You, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying yourself. Too much. But to your credit, the serpent was faster than any beast he had ever ridden, and it seemed to have covered the intimidating expanse of the ocean in just over an hour.
Just as you neared the coast and Mansha slowed down, he took the liberty of letting go of your warm body and undid his hair, placing the eyepatch back in its original place, covering his sapphire.
Mansha had dropped you at a beautiful coast with golden sand and the warm sun shining, the warmth welcome after the ocean.
“Mansha, go and make sure Vhagar doesn’t get lost,” you said, patting the beast’s middle head. “Bring her here, okay?”
“Welcome to Kalinga, my Prince Aemond,” you said, smiling. “I hope I will be a good host to you as you have been to me.”

IPKKND LIVE BLOG SEASON 1 [Epi. 8]
Hi. Aao. Shuru karte hain. :)
1. Lol. Tom and Jerry. Naniji and mamiji. Any difference? Not at all.
2. Anyways. Back to Laxminagar. Khushi and her woh. Laard Governor.
3. Payal, for the umpteenth time, reminds her lil sister that she wouldn't be able to get a naukri in this 'anjaan sheher'.
4. And Khushi instantly realizes no. Khushi. No. I said don't. Please don't go to that snake. Please Khushi no. Please stay away from him. Please. Khushi. I SAID. NO.
5. I think there was some shooting glitch here. When Khushi and Payal were shown in Laxminagar there was night outside but when we came back to Shantivan it was daytime again and the preparations for that puja was going on. Hmm. Seems like nobody realized it. Anyways.
6. Lol. But sad as well. Mamiji is so affection deprived. She so wants her sasu-o-maa to give her the same amount of attention and affection but she just doesn't get it. IDK what's wrong with Naniji.
7. NGL but Arnav looks so dumb standing like a pole in the temple. They could have suggested him some kind of pose like folding his hands over his chest or holding his hands at the back in that 'stand at ease' soldier pose. That could have looked much better idk. *shrugs*
8. And Bitwa's poker face while performing the aarti. Like. Lol. But it's so sweet he is doing it for his di and his family.
9. Oh. God. Mamiji missed the affectionate gaze she received from naniji. See y'all? Naniji doesn't outright hate her. She just doesn't show it in front of her. The admiring gaze was so heart warming oh my gosh.
10. Lol. "Hum bol rahe hain." "Kamaal hai." "Humare khayalaat itne milte hain. Yahan bhi hum e bol rahe hain." NGL. But that was funny y'all. Fuck you, Shyam. Making nice jokes now. But lemme tell you something else as well. He is acting ignorant here. He 100% realized her voice and was definitely trying joke-flirt with her.
11. "Amma, babuji aur buaji ke baare mein bhi toh soch na?" Lol. Khushi is instant. "Ab unhe kyun naukri karni hai?" Lol. No Khushi no. You got the wrong idea, dear. Lmao this girl.
12. It's really so sad to see him so broken like this. Anjali di can clearly see that he has still not moved on from that hell of a trauma that he had to receive all those years back. She can clearly see that he still has not moved on from it. She so wants someone to help him come out of this dark lonely shell he has locked himself in.
13. Khushi convinces buaji to let her help in the orders for the sarees.
14. Ofcourse Khushi will get confused by the name of the house she had to go to: Shantivan yaa Nandavan.
15. Of course the guard from Shantivan will come and inquire about her presence. And of course she will ask to go in.
16. Of course bitwa will hit and miss her even though he would be in the same house at the same time, even though he should have left for his office until now.
17. Okay so both Anjali and Khushi have the knowledge about those 'kaam ache se ban jaye wale' tips. Anjali helps her in the choice of foot to enter and Khushi eyes feast on the beautiful visuals of Shantivan. And also that 'piche se nahi tokte' one is so damn real. Even my mother follows it y'all.
18. Khushi's mannerisms scream middle-class and yet Anjali doesn't seem to care even a bit. Rather she is quite amused to see her innocence and genuine-ity.
19. Soon, Anjali realizes that naniji would rather enjoy seeing those chikankari saree samples more than her. Coz she of course doesn't wear these( IDK I might be wrong but I think she wears sarees from AR's saree collections that Arnav got for her? IDK. *shrugs*)
20. Khushi on seeing that Anjali is limping suggests that she could show her the way to the room and Khushi would manage the rest. So Anjali calls for raheem chacha.
21. But raheem chacha leaves her before giving her some vague instructions.
22. And Khushi is left all alone in the middle of two ways. So how will she choose the path? Of course her jingle. Kya hua? Yaad nahi aaya? Arre woh. Arre wohi bhul bhulaiya chale hai paiya wala. From the first episode. Ab aaya? Yaad? Hmm wohi wala. So which rasta did mori maiyya show last time? Arnav-rasta. So which rasta will she show her this time? Hard to guess? I don't think so. Batao batao. *wiggles eyebrows*
23. Lol. She peeks inside Arnav's room calling out for naniji. Lol. Khushi. I just. *exhales* Don't have any words for you.
24. No Khushi. Lol. Sirf tumhara Laard Gorvernor hi rehta hai ITNEEEEE bade kamre mein. Lol.
25. She calls out 'naniji' standing in the middle of the room and there comes 'naniji' clad in a grey charcoal three-piece suit with a cool electric guitar bg.
26. Khushi starts to get the hint that she might be in the wrong room when Lakshmiji comes running out of nowhere.
27. Raheem chacha comes right after her in tow to catch her. He quickly takes her from Khushi and tells her to leave the room this instant as no one is allowed to enter this room.
28. Of course Khushi would instantly leave the room intentionally forgetting that she was having a 'gathri' along with her. Kyunki bhai agar woh gathri lene murti toh woh Laard Governor dekh nahi leta usko? Why would they want to ruin their thousandth hit and miss. Lol. Whatever. Back to the epi.
29. Khushi leaves the room from the front door EXACTLY the moment when Arnav enters the room through his bathroom. Lol. They might have realized later ki arre iss room mein toh washroom hi nahi hai toh chalo iss entrance ko hi washroom bana dete hain kisiko kya hi pata chalega ki yeh hum already dikha chuke hain as an entrance. Lol. Another example jahan public ko ch_tiya samajhkar mamu banaya gaya hai. Lol. Sorry for my language but couldn't resist it. Whatever. Back to the epi.
30. Anjali di enters right after her chhotte complaining about his laziness for cleanliness.
31. Of course Khushi would recall about her gathri EXACTLY when Arnav would notice it lying on his recliner. GUYS. FUCKING MOVE ON. FAST OKAY? PLEASE. ALL THESE HITS AND MISSES ARE IRRITATING THE FUCK OUT OF ME NOW. PLEASE.
32. Oh. So. Episode is over. Wow. What a waste. Pura episode hi filler tha kya? Bas yahan-wahan karne mein hi time waste ho gaya. Whatever. Ok bye. God bless you.

Braj ki Holi (Ch-5)
//Ch-4// //Masterlist//
The next morning Dau decided to take all of us to Vishram ghat in Mathura. Our train was in the evening at around 7pm and Mathura was barely half an hour away so we agreed to visit a few more temples and ghats.
All the girls decided to wear ethnic today, and I was glad that I had packed some nice ones to wear. My mother had packed a maroon chikankari kurti for me and lent me a beautiful pair of silver jhumke from her collection. She had also asked me to send her photographs in this dress.
"Yaar koi dori bandh do mera mera bhagya kahan hai ki koyi cute sa ladka bandh de mere liye," I heard Bhumi who was trying to tie the threads of her backless kurti in front of the mirror.
Subhadra laughed and helped my sister to tie those threads while commenting, "Arey didi itna rona nahi lago kya pata koi ladka aaj mil jaye?" Radhika who was combing her hair joined in too, saying, "Ekdum apsara jaisi sundarta leki padhari hai humari Bhumi ladkon ka dil phisla degi."
Bhumi giggled and applied perfume to her arms and then looked at herself in the mirror. "Tumhe koi haq nahi banta ki tum itni khubsurat lago. Not fair!"
I facepalmed and pulled her away from the mirror. "Okay Bhumi ji, now let others use the mirror too. Hume bhi khubsurat lagna hai."
Bhumi sat on the bed and began scrolling on her phone. Radhika was braiding her hair while Subhadra was playing with the beads on her beaded kurti. I applied a thick stroke of my kajal on my eyes and after feeling satisfied with the length and thickness of the kohl, I announced, "Okay, I am done. All ready."
"Whoa!" All the girls exclaimed. "Your eyes look stunning in kajal. You should wear it often," Subhadra commented. "Kanha bhaiya would get lost in your eyes for sure." This earned her a smack on her shoulder from Radhika.
Radhika walked over to me and moved her fingers in a circle around my face. "Like those typical indian tv serial vali mummy, tujhe kisiki nazar na lage."
"Jaa meri Bhaishmi jaa ab inn aakhon se aankhon ki gustakhiyan khel."
Adjusting my dupatta over my shoulder, I rolled my eyes at Bhumi who shrugged her shoulders and pushed me outside the room, making me collide with someone.
"Bhumi, what are you…" Thank you Bhumi! "I am so sorry Krishna, Bhumi pushed me and I had no idea that you would be walking here."
Subhadra's words indeed came true and I was struck with the realization that Krishna was holding me by my shoulders, his face leaning a little dangerously close to mine in front of everyone.
"Not in front of my lipstick, you two!" Radhika's words brought Krishna out of my kohl lined eyes.
I took a step back and adjusted my dupatta again, a brilliant way to hide my blushy face.
"Uh.. No I- not that, we won't… God, Bhaishmi, your eyes look angelic in kajal. Had you walked over to my seat on the train with kajal in your eyes, I would have proposed to you there itself."
Radhika, Subhadra and Bhumi smirked. My devious sister pretended to clear her throat and motioned the others to walk with her. "Generous of us to offer you guys some privacy. Bhaishmi, I need details."
"Ghanta details." I looked at Krishna who was back to smiling amusedly at me. "Chalo sab mandir."
****
It was 2.30pm and all of us decided to have lunch and visit the Vishram ghat after which we would head back to kaki's house and leave for the train station.
The ghat was usually crowded in the evening where tourists as well as locals gathered together to witness the yamuna aarti. Sadly, we couldn't stay that long to see the aarti, so we decided to enjoy the sight of the river and take a look at the various shrines built on the ghat.
The ghat looked quite empty in the afternoon. We could see some of the priests and a few devotees here and there. The boats were aligned together on the river and tied to one of the posts.
"There's our Vrindavan," Radhika pointed towards a distant mass of hills and trees visible from the ghat.
I saw Ranvit staring at that location for a long time. He then said, "I love how Vrindavan and Mathura have still kept their history and culture together while moving forward with time. Here are various ghats and temples constructed by so many saints and kings in history; so many folklores and tales connected to each and every corner of every street. Even though we live in the twenty-first century, a part of the old times still resides here. Call me crazy, but I can still feel that maybe once we turn a corner, a portal will open and we all will be with Krishna and his sakhas." He paused and sighed, "This holiday will be the most memorable holiday in my life."
Arjun then spoke up. "This was my first time in Vrindavan too, and I feel blessed to come here. Somehow connecting to our roots grants a different sense of happiness. I don't think I have the right words to describe what I feel, but I feel that this place has changed something in me."
Arjun was right. This place, this little vacation did change something inside me too. I met some amazing people and bonded with them; celebrated a festival together and created so many lovely memories that I will look back on in the future.
Heck, I feel like Naina from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani as I write this. Now in the movie, Bunny and Naina got together, but does this story have the same ending?
Subhadra gave a side hug to Bhumi. "You all don't make me cry, okay. Bhumi, Bhaishmi and Ranvit… I am going to miss you all so much. Be in touch or I will spam all your inboxes."
I saw Radhika looking at Krishna, their eyes having a silent conversation on their own. Her hand gently patted his shoulder.
"I agree with my little sister. I never expected to have such a wonderful Holi celebration. All of this feels straight out of a book or a movie you know but I am glad I met you guys," Dau said.
"Are we going to stay here the entire time? We need to head back and drop them off at the station too."
Thanks for reminding me Krishna about that!
The journey back to kaki's house was no longer filled with us talking about how special this trip was or if we were going to miss each other or not. Radhika and Krishna had decided to cheer up everyone with a playful banter and soon we all were laughing until our stomachs ached.
We reached kaki's house in an hour. Everyone rushed out of the car except me and Krishna. I wanted time to slow down by a few hours just to spend some more time with him, thus I walked excruciatingly slow while passing occasional glances at Krishna.
"Okay, I am going to regret this if I don't do it now and let you go." This was the last thing I heard before Krishna pulled my wrist towards him and led me towards a secluded wall.
Pressing his forehead against mine, he murmured, "Do you want this too? For the first and maybe the last time I think?"
"Do it, Krishna."
And at last, I was closer to his lips than his flute had ever been. Both of us let our yearning out for each other, not caring even once about the consequences. His lips were soft like rose petals and he kissed me as passionately as he played his flute.
And we slowly moved away from each other after what seemed like eternity. We smiled at each other, and his arm moved around my waist, bringing me close to him.
"You know the next time I look up at the stars, I will always be reminded of you, Krishna," I told him as I hugged him for one last time.
His fingers played with my hair, delicately brushing them over my hair. "And why so?"
"The first time I saw you, it was your eyes that drew me in. They always shine with happiness and love for each and everything that exists in this world." Pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, I added, "And we have met like two stars too; coming close for a while and then moving away to our respective paths ahead."
I could feel him smile and his arms embraced me tighter. A very funny feeling arose in my chest. Warmth seeped inside my body, the more I stayed in Krishna's embrace. I felt the heaviness in my heart at the prospect of leaving this place and him, but there was peace and understanding too. I could feel my stomach do somersaults yet there was a calming effect too.
Are there any specific words to describe this feeling?
"Bhaishmi, where are you? Kaka and Kaki are calling." Thank you, Ranvit. I love you so freaking much!
The warmth that had enveloped my being had escaped back to nature, as I felt Krishna move a step back from me.
The end, isn't it?
****
Bhumi was on the phone with my maasi who had once again taken up the role of cautioning sixteen year olds to not accept any food from strangers on the train.
God, how would she react when we would tell her about our little adventure. Now, dear reader, it's obvious that we all lied to our parents that we were at the hotel and not with a group of teenagers
"Tum sab badme parivar ke sath aana bachon samjhe?" Yashodhara kaki wiped a lone tear with the end of her pallu.
Nanda kaka was busy settling all our luggages near our seats. I saw him smile and shake his head at kaki but I could make out that he too felt a little sad with us leaving. Strange, how people take up spaces in other people's hearts when they have met only for a short amount of time?
Bhumi was munching on those tasteless, saltless yellow Lays chips causing me and Ranvit to grimace. Dau was inside with kaka and Krishna was on the platform, standing silently.
Radhika's gaze often switched between the two of us. Subhadra being the clever girl she is, cleverly asked everyone to get inside the train after sending Dau out to get some more snacks for us, leaving two people behind at the train compartment's gate.
Reader, you must know who they are?
"Goodness, my sister is far more clever than me," muttered Krishna.
I looked at Subhadra's retreating figure as she walked to my seat. God, just a few days ago only we were on the train meeting each other the first time and now it was time to go back. Soon. This was ending too soon.
I think when we leave a place we leave behind some part of ourselves there and carry bits of the places in us while leaving for the next destination. I was taking away some scenic sites, fun memories, amazing friends, beautiful flute tunes that would always find a way to enter my dreams and sweet memories of a very pretty boy.
The train was to leave the station in ten minutes and Krishna and I weren't speaking a word. Our fingers would fiddle around each other, with our lips trying desperately to conceal the words of our hearts.
But finally, Universe being the master conspirator, conspired against every bodily function and made me speak the sentence.
"I am going to love you, Krishna."
His eyes met mine and he held my gaze for a very long time. His eyes that had lost their shine for a few moments back there on the platform were twinkling again just like my favourite stars adorning the night sky.
Sometimes we don't need to have those forever kind of love stories. Love can be found in small moments of time too and maybe you may choose other things or some other person later in life, you are still going to house that love in your heart forever. I think people might not be forever, but love is.
And I was going to nurse this beautiful plant of love forever. These four to five days with him were going to be some wonderful memories inside my heart.
But indeed was it love? We only met for a few days. You can love people for the briefest of moments too. Love is a very mysterious but beautiful language of the Universe that connects your heartstrings to many people. Popularly, love might always mean romance and relationships, but one must never forget the love that exists in friends, amidst nature and quiet places that exist to tell you little secrets of life.
I was going to love Subhadra, Dau, Arjun, Radhika, Kaka and Kaki too. I was going to love this blissful experience of Vrindavan and Mathura. There was love flowing in the breeze when Krishna and I talked by the Yamuna river. The stars that I saw with him on the terrace the night before and the darkness that welcomed my eyes after sleep embraced me as my head rested on his shoulders spoke of that love.
This little bud of love had blossomed into a lotus inside me. And, Krishna understood everything that I have written here because…
"I am going to love you too, Bhaishmi."
Kaka, Kaki, Dau, Subhadra and Radhika came back to the gate and stepped down on the platform one by one. Krishna was the last one to move down, but he did not leave my hand after giving me a very precious object.
He left his peacock chain from his flute in my fingers. Those beautiful lips curled upwards for one last time and I committed his smile to my memory, and those starry eyes once again promised: I am going to love you, Bhaishmi.
"Goodbye, Krishna."
"No. See you soon, Bhaishmi."
Kaki waved at us and I felt Ranvit's hand over my shoulder. I stood near the gate until the others on the platform were reduced to a dot in my vision until I could no longer see the platform, with Krishna's sweet voice ringing inside my ears.
"See you soon…"

Hello! It is 12.36am with machhar attacking me from all sides but I managed to write this fic nevertheless.
Wait wait wait I completed this fic??? I had started this out before my board exams maybe somewhere in April after I posted about a fic I had wrote somewhere half way about meeting Krishna on a train and some people told me to post it here. I changed a lot of things here though that what I had originally written before.
Also the last section of the fic, I would love to hear your thoughts about it. And worry not, we are going to have an epilogue. Picture abhi bhi bali hai mere dost!
Also, I would love to hear your thoughts about the ending. What were you expecting? Was it good or you wanted something else. Everything!
Anyway, I should go to sleep now. And god I am going to miss these characters. I hope you guys miss them too. Bhaishmi and everyone will always be here on this blog.
Okay so tagging people for one last time here for this fic:

2. Avoid Direct Sunlight
Avoid direct sunlight when drying your kurta as it can damage the black fabric. Alternatively, to maintain its color and texture, dry it in a well-ventilated, shady place.
3. Handle Storage Correctly
Keep your kurta out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place. To shield the embroidery from dust and any damage, use a garment bag. Keep the kurta off the wall for as long as possible to prevent straining or deformity.

Chikankari Kurta Set: Timeless Elegance for Every Occasion
Chikankari, a traditional embroidery style that originated in Lucknow, India, is known for its delicate and intricate patterns. The Chikankari Kurta Set, a favorite among fashion enthusiasts, represents the epitome of grace and elegance. Whether for daily wear, office attire, or festive occasions, a Chikankari Kurta Set can effortlessly elevate your style quotient. Let's explore what makes Chikankari Kurta Sets so special and why they deserve a place in your wardrobe.
What is Chikankari?
Chikankari is a form of hand embroidery that uses white or colored thread to create floral motifs and intricate patterns on a variety of fabrics such as cotton, georgette, silk, and chiffon. This traditional art form dates back to the Mughal era and has since been cherished for its delicate and beautiful craftsmanship. Chikankari involves multiple stitching techniques, including shadow work, bakhiya, phanda, and jaali, to create unique designs that add elegance and charm to the fabric.
Why Choose a Chikankari Kurta Set?
1. Versatile Fashion Statement
Chikankari Kurta Sets are known for their versatility. They can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Pair them with traditional churidars for a classic look or with palazzos for a contemporary twist. Their adaptability makes them perfect for a variety of occasions, from casual gatherings to festive celebrations.
2. Comfortable and Breathable
One of the biggest advantages of Chikankari Kurtas is their comfort. The embroidery is often done on lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton or georgette, making them ideal for hot and humid weather. You can wear them throughout the day without feeling weighed down or uncomfortable.
3. Timeless Elegance
The beauty of a Chikankari Kurta Set lies in its timeless appeal. The intricate designs and delicate embroidery make them a classic piece that never goes out of style. Whether you're wearing it for a casual outing or a formal event, a Chikankari Kurta exudes elegance and sophistication.
4. Handcrafted Artistry
Each Chikankari Kurta is a unique piece of art, handcrafted by skilled artisans. This makes every garment special and different from the rest, providing a personal touch that is often missing in machine-made apparel. By choosing Chikankari, you also support traditional artisans and help keep this beautiful craft alive.
Different Styles of Chikankari Kurta Sets
Chikankari Kurta Sets come in a variety of styles, fabrics, and designs. Here are some popular styles to consider:
1. Georgette Chikankari Kurta Set
Georgette is a lightweight, flowy fabric that beautifully complements the delicate Chikankari embroidery. A Georgette Chikankari Kurta Set is perfect for evening events, weddings, or any special occasion where you want to make a graceful statement. Pair it with a matching dupatta and some statement jewelry for a complete look.
2. Cotton Chikankari Kurta Set
For everyday wear, nothing beats the comfort of a Cotton Chikankari Kurta Set. These kurtas are breathable, soft, and perfect for hot summers. Available in various sleeve lengths, neck designs, and colors, these sets can be paired with leggings, palazzos, or jeans for a casual yet elegant look.
3. Silk Chikankari Kurta Set

Caring for Your Chikankari Kurta Set
To ensure that your Chikankari Kurta Set stays beautiful for years to come, proper care is essential:
Hand Wash with Care: Due to the delicate embroidery, it's best to hand wash Chikankari Kurtas with mild detergent. Avoid wringing or scrubbing the fabric harshly.
Dry in Shade: Direct sunlight can fade the colors of the fabric and the embroidery. Dry your kurta in the shade to maintain its vibrancy.
Iron on Low Heat: Always iron Chikankari Kurtas on low heat, preferably on the reverse side, to protect the delicate threads.
