this is not exactly a "thoughts on" bc i can't word it like that but

least favourite fashion trend of the year

oh gosh.

i find, as i get older, the less i pay attention to trends and pay more attention to different staples that can be added to my closet from current trends (example, Co-ords and matching sets, and SUITS for women has been a big thing for me to take over the past few years).

so tbh, idk what the youths are doing (especially given that i have a teenage boy who couldn't be bothered with anything and wears sweats most of the time), but here are the following things that i really did not enjoy seeing this past year:

-corset tops and tops with boning in them. they look super cute on but they are not sustainable and will be out of fashion by this time next year, guarantee it.

-all the fucking Y2K nostalgia (it left for a reason babes)

-TINY fucking purses. have we not suffered enough with the loss of our pockets?

-those tiny button up cardigans as shirts? like grandma chic? again, super cute on other people but like... not for me (this is largely a personal style thing, can't catch me wearing a cardigan ever, i own exactly zero.)

-and finally this like... abolition of skinny jeans. I say this, knowing full well that i have a drawer FULL of mom jeans and baggy boy jeans and flare jeans, and a pair of low rise jeans, and i think only one pair of skinny that i don't really wear anymore. because EVEN THOUGH they are not "on trend" they're not "out of style".

skinny jeans deserve to be added to the "classic staple" place in wardrobe. like a white button up, or a black turtle neck or black cigarette pants. like they just don't go out of style.

Requested Jade Inspired Night Out

Firstly, I apoligize this is is a bit late but I forgot and then remembered and then forgot again and then remembered but it`s here now so go me I remembered.

Jade`s night out looks are a mixture of different things she can either go dressy, casual or all out snazzy. I have accumulated a load of different looks for you to try and get inspiration from. So let`s get started shall we?

ASOS Reclaimed Vintage inspired co-ord bralet in satin: £22. First look at this set and you may be thinking uh what? Jade loves a co-ord, Either on a night out or promo. What drew me to this set is the trousers, She`s been seen wearing fanned out trousers before...You can find the trousers here for £38. This set is a modern twist on the classy look but keeping it smart and funky at the same time, You don`t have too wear the blue top if your not keen on it, you can replace it with the black bodysuit here (I`ll be telling you more on the casual look later on) and you can pair it with some black heels and a black clutch.

ASOS DESIGN tailored checked blazer: £55. Now does this set remind you of something? This suit is similar to the purple suit she wore last year...Now this is another co-ord, but it`s smart casual. You can wear it up or down..You can wear it with heels or trainers. Long flare trousers make your legs look longer and the blazer hides the areas around your hips and stomach in case you don`t like them. You can pair this with a bodysuit white or black. Their is another alternative to a suit...What I find lately is that their is 3 versions of a suit...Fanned out, Flared/baggy or straight leg. I haven`t got a straight leg recommendation for you in this post but it`s the most popular and I would say probably the most subtle one...Some great versions can be found at Topshop, PrettyLittleThing, Zara or ASOS. Suits arent just for the business room, They are a great alternative for a night out as well in case you didn`t want to go the full boom.You can find the trousers here but hurry they are selling out fast. I have also added a more subtle, classic black suit here

Boohoo mini sequin cami dress in teal: £15.50. It`s no secret Jade likes a bit of sequin or embellishment from bikinis to shoes, to dresses to bags. It`s one of my favourite things about her, I dunno if it`s the drag queen side of her but during a really dull period in Little Mix`s style sometimes it`s the one thing that can perk you up. Which can be the same for you, When you shimmy into the room your friends faces will light up as you dazzle the dancefloor. This dress is similar to what Jade has worn before...Who remembers the Motel dresses? What`s more is that it doesn`t have to be overpriced or expensive this dress is only £15.50!. But do not fear I have found other alternatives for you in a similar style red, Purple. 

ASOS DESIGN long sleeve top in ombre sequin co-ord: £12.50. Jade`s style is very tomboyish, oversized, baggy, boxy. You don`t see her wearing some of the other clothes like the other girls do. I was doubtful when I saw this and then I saw the video and was like yes, she would wear that I can imagine it. It looks like a dress but it`s actually a top and a skirt, So if you didn`t like the co-ord together you can wear the skirt or top on it`s own (Again I will be talking about that later in the post). I know the skirt may not be too some peoples taste but I like it because it`s different. You can wear this with black heels and a black clutch.

NastyGal Top Grip Diamante Hair Slides: Sold Out. As always something has to go out of stock whilst i`m doing this...So hair slides are big trend at the moment you can get some subtle ones like these, big old clip ones or you can get ones with words. These add such a feminine, classic touch to you, to me they seem classy and elegant and innocent. But of course if you was interested in these I would be more then interested in looking for some alternatives for you..Of course every shop and website stock them and do different styles.

ASOS DESIGN Roxy lace triangle bra: £12. For the eagle eyed viewers out their you may recognise this, As we used this for our dupe of the day recently. I was inspired by Jade`s look from the TAU video and her recent night out where she wore a denim co-ord with a white lace bra underneath. Now I know this territory isn't for everyone and not everyone is comfortable wearing just a bra, But don`t forget you can also wear this bra under a bodysuit and you don`t have to go out in just a bra and skirt or pants or whatever. You can wear this under a suit (That grey suit) like Jade has done many times before. You can also get bigger/longer versions if you don`t fancy the shorter version.

MissGuided nude square toe clear heels: £28. Jade hasn`t really been seen out wearing these type of shoes..Maybe once or twice but I added them because they are all the rage at the moment and I think that`s purely down to Kanye West`s Yeezy collection which I won`t go into more detail about. But the clear strap, perspex heel is on trend at the moment and theirs lot`s of different styles it comes in.

ASOS Glamorous black barely there heeled sandals: £26. Something she will step out in though is basic black heels...You can`t go wrong with a simple black heels, They go with anything and everything..You can have a bit of decoration or a higher heels theirs lots of different variations. Jade loves a simple black heel like these as she is seen most days wearing them. I have added a alternative here

ASOS DESIGN tassel clutch bag: £12. I haven`t really grasped what kind of bag person Jade is because she likes the fun, quirky ones and she also likes a plain and simple one. So I`ve chosen the one that will go with any outfit, that will house your phone, your make up, your other stuff and that is a simple black clutch bag.

MissGuided black long sleeve turtle neck top: £10. Now I have added this bodysuit for the more casual outfits Little Mix seem to love them recently so I guess this is a seal of a approval. But having done research Jade also loves to go out in a casual get up. This bodysuit is much like the black heels and will go with almost anything and everything, That said you can team it with black jeans...Which will go with that sequin top from ASOS. Also a simple black bralet, leather or patent. A simple black skirt, mini or flare. Don`t be scared to experiment.
