Teen Michael never actually bullied Evan at home only with his friends and it only actually started after Elizabeth went missing, he would usually come home to Evan and say sorry for whatever happened that day. Michael was also a huge nerd and read a lot of books about robots and stuff and when Fredrick (Freddy bully) came up with the idea to put Evan into freadbears mouth Jeremy and Simon protested and Michael said something about the bite force of an animatronic (Henry told William to put in some safety precautions in place just in case but he never did) but Fredrick called them pussys and Michael reluctantly agreed assuming Henry put stuff in place for a situation like this (if William wasn't a dick there would be) and they obviously accidentally kill Evan and the only time William has ever told any of his children he's proud of them was while Michael was sobbing over Evans body and from that day William stopped hitting Michael.
