Definitions

Ecology: The branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings.

Ecosystem: A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. It is an interacting as a system. These biotic and abiotic components are linked together through nutrient cycles and energy flows. Energy enters the system through photosynthesis and is incorporated into plant tissue. By feeding on plants and on one-another, animals play an important role in the movement of matter and energy through the system. Ecosystems are controlled by external and internal factors, ie: climate. Ecosystems are dynamic entities.

Energy: the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. 

Design Example - Image 1: A prototype of the WindNest project, designed for Lagi’s 2010 Abu Dhabi competition, was built last fall. If approved, it will be built in Pittsburgh, and visitors will be able to charge their cell phones using wind and solar energy generated from the overhead rotating nests. Estimated annual capacity: 8,000 kWh.How does this relate? This project approaches a way of transforming wind and solar energy into a source of energy for cell phones and other devices. Uses energy around us and transforms it into a form of energy that we need and use everyday.

Biodiversity: The variety of plant and animal life in the world or in a particular habitat, a high level of which is usually considered to be important and desirable. 

Design example - Image 2: ‘The Biodiversity Nest’ - Designed by ‘Blue Forest’ in 2013, the biodiversity nest is an education space that is used for concentrating and learning more about biodiversity within the rainforest. The nest was inspired by the ‘weaver bird’ species and its amazingly woven nest, and also from the nature surrounding it.

Elements: Any of the four substances (earth, water, air, and fire) regarded as the fundamental constituents of the world in ancient and medieval philosophy.

Design example - Image 3: David Trubridge light installation "The installation is a quietly contemplative space, encouraging reflection on the vital role of the elements. The basis of all life on Earth is the eternal cycle of water: evaporated from the oceans by the fire of the Sun, it is carried in the air to the mountains where it falls on the Earth as rain, running back to the ocean in rivers."

Abiotic elements: Non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment that affect living organisms and the functioning of ecosystems.

Design example - Image 4: Windstalk (potential design New York) Inspired by the movement of wind through a wheat field, this proposed installation by New York City-based designers would have 1,200 stalks that are 55m high, arranged in a logarithmic spiral. When it rains, water would run down the stalks and collect at the bottom, feeding a garden of native plants. Wind power would sway the stalks, generating energy and making them light up. Estimated annual capacity: 20,000 MWhHow does this relate? The project uses man made structures to manipulate the natural resource (rainwater) and it is used to to sustain native plants. Therefore the structure installed, affects (in a positive and sustainable way) the environment by watering the eco systems. 

Carbon Cycle: The series of processes by which carbon compounds are interconverted in the environment, involving the incorporation of carbon dioxide into living tissue by photosynthesis and its return to the atmosphere through respiration, the decay of dead organisms, and the burning of fossil fuels.

Biotic Factors(elements): Biotic factors are the living components of an ecosystem. They are sorted into three groups: producers or autotrophs, consumers or heterotrophs, and decomposers or detritivores.

With the increase in kits, Rum Tum Tugger has decided to be a permanent queen. For in-game purposes her rank is mediator and I'm gonna use her as such so I don't accidently send her on patrol + i have more ways to manipulate relationships but lore-wise she's a perma queen

Mangodream has finally made her way to StarClan. I will prevent fading on her since she was such an influental cat. Honeydance and Whorlspots also go missing. Whorlspots finds herself in the dark forest for claiming a false prophecy. If this moon wasn't bad enough, Mallowscreech and Splashivy are also killed.

In other news, Windnest becomes mates with his dead mate's sister??? Perhaps in hopes that she will remind him of him

Flamestar pops out some good names (tho Hushdream is changed to Hushember due to the name challenge). Ivystone has been switched to mediator

Tornfruit is also getting a crush on Meadowfade
