Someone to be Gentle- Original Poem by Me.

I want someone to be gentle with me To hold me while I cry To give me forehead kisses To walk me home just so I’ll make it safe. I want someone to be gentle with me But also to get angry when someone else isn’t To step in front of me Shield me with their body Raise their voice in defence. I want someone to be gentle with me To see through the tough outer shell To the young person who had no one Who had to become strong to protect themselves. I just want someone to be gentle with me.

This was inspired by a TikTok that I can not find anymore but it resonated with me and so I wrote this poem.

Qi Rong seems like the type to be a bit unfamiliarized to cuddles and physical affection. Not completely, as the Xianle Queen seemed to baby him when he was alive, but like... After centuries of probably not having it, I presume he'd become much less used to it. At first, he'd act somewhat defensively, as if expecting to be hit instead. Then, he'd avoid and kinda mock the concept, as he's, well, the Night Touring Green Lantern! He's a scary ghost king, he doesn't need any affection!! But then, he'd end up wanting more and more of it... And before he knows it, he's (accidentally?) cuddling back. Like a feral cat who became surprisingly clingy after adoption lmao.

This, of course, would only apply the closest of the closest... Which is almost no one asdfghjkl

Yeah I know it's only July but I made a bad decision doing Goretober during October and I both got really burnt out and sick by the end and I don't want to go through that again. TwT

Last song you listened to: Silver Lining by Mt. Joy. It's been stuck in my head a lot lately, along with Sleeping on the Blacktop by Colter Wall.

Favourite Colour: it's a tie between red and blue, and flip flops from day to day. Years ago I used to joke that my favorite color was "siren" because of that.

Currently watching: Dungeon Meshi

Favourite flavour: oh, that's a very hard one. There's not a blanket flavor that applies to every situation, after all. If I want a dessert or a snack or a meal, those are completely different genres. I suppose green tea is a flavor that I'm comfortable choosing if there's a variety on offer.

Current Obsession: Stardew Valley. I've been playing the 1.6 update and it's really eating up a lot of my free time. Outside of games, the OCs that my friends and I have developed have really held my attention for the past 3+ years, so that's certainly something.

Last thing I googled: when did the devils last win the stanley cup (was talking to a friend who said that the Leafs hadn't won the cup in 50+ years, was curious about my more local team)

Favourite season: Winter. I am not a man made to withstand the heat of summer, and a crisp, snowy day is among my favorite things to experience.

Skill I'd like to learn: I'd really like to learn carving/whittling, I always enjoy watching artists on youtube woodwork but it's never been in my wheelhouse.

Best Advice: Hold on tight to the little things that bring you joy. Life is hard sometimes, and it's easy to start thinking it's more bad than good if you don't relish what you've got. It gets better if you let it.
