the jihoon brain rot continues besties 🥹 this is inspired by @bluejeanstrash who (as far as i know) came up with the idea of rich ceo husband! jihoon, and this year’s gda has given me so much ideas:
tags/warnings: rich ceo husband! jihoon, wife! reader, fluff to smut, smut portion contains pet names (darling, pretty baby, etc.), mentions of sexting and nudes, thigh riding, mentions of fingering, ass grabbing, he’s just so hot y’all and i’m upset i can’t have him do things to me 🙃
rich ceo husband! jihoon who would:
absolutely love spoiling you as his pretty wife, even of you don’t ask for it. one day, you came home to a beautiful, expensive silver necklace with a note attached that read: “just cause. i love my darling.” - JH
cater to you in more ways than one - everyday when he gets off work he’s calling and asking if you need anything, a meal, something from the store, whatever you may need, he’s going to fulfill it for you. if he can’t go out and get himself, he’s gonna send someone to get it for him.
be the type to kiss you on your forehead while you sleep before he goes off to work in the morning.
like the original author said, everyone in the company knows who you are and they don’t dare disrespect you. if jihoon finds out that you’ve been disrespected, they’re getting fired on the spot. he doesn’t play about you.
adore you physically (from head to toe) and emotionally. you found each other at the right time in your lives, and you mean so much to him. even though he’s not the best with his words, he wants to prove how much he loves you with his actions.
now for what y’all have been waiting for:
whenever he wears his ap or other luxury watches on his wrist, your pussy can’t help but clench. a hot man with an expensive watch on hand is such a lethal combo.
sometimes when jihoon has to stay at the company late (dealing with one of his artists or another business venture), he can expect some form of a sext, sensual pic, or even a nude from you when you’re needy. you lace your message with such sweetness (“daddy come home, please? 🥺🥺) that is has him wanting to tease you, but it has him craving for you too. he ends up just telling you to wait patiently like a good girl until he comes home.
rich ceo husband! jihoon has such soft dom! vibes, he loves fucking you against the mattress, hearing your cute little voice call for him, hearing you whine for more. would say stuff along the lines of “mmmm, take this dick, just like that.. fuck yeah, pretty baby” and “say my name again, you make it sound so pretty in that mouth of yours.” also, jihoon would definitely adore you calling him sir!
many a late night is spent at home with you riding his thighs, both of you on the sectional that takes up most of the living room. his suit jacket is tossed on another side of the couch, his white button down has the sleeves rolled up, his black tie is a little loose, and his long hair falling delicately on his eyes. jihoon LOVES roaming his hands across your legs, waist, but he loves it even more when he grabs your ass and you bite your lip in response. when you’ve come all over his pants, and his dick is hard from how good you are, you’re kissing his neck and jihoon’s caressing your face, telling you to take off your panties so he can finger your wet cunt next.

Jihoon is exactly where you expect to find him when you get home from work. Hunched over in his chair, eyes boring into a computer screen, and pen in hand furiously scribbling away at a notepad. You knock three times to alert him of your presence. He turns to you with a wide smile and tired eyes.
"Hi," He breathes out, ushering you in with his hand. You oblige, though you don't plan to stay for long. It's been a long day and you're tired. But on top of that, you know Jihoon enough to notice when he's gotten into a rhythm and doesn't want to be disturbed.
"How was your day?" He humors. His hand settles back on the mouse and he begins clicking around the program he uses. "Fine," you shrug, stopping just behind his chair, a little curious as to what he's doing. "Tiring, but not the worst it could've been."
Your replies are rather lackluster and you can tell Jihoon notices by the way he quirks up an eyebrow at your last sentence.
You rake your fingers through his hair, smoothing back the pieces that have fallen out of place before letting your hand rest on his shoulder. He hums in satisfaction when you press a kiss to the top of his head. "I'll let you get back to work."
Jihoon cranes his neck to peer back with a confused frown on his lips. "Aren't you going to tell me about your day?"
Your brain short circuits for a moment and you just stare at him, dumbfounded. Of course, Jihoon always takes time out of his schedule to hear about your day. However, he usually prefers to finish up whatever he's working on first so he doesn't lose focus. "You look busy, I don't want to interrupt. This looks important." You wave your hand vaguely at his screen.
He just tsks, then swiftly saves his project and cuts the power to his monitor. "You're important. You always come first, now tell me what's wrong." He's spun around in his chair, already standing up to take you in his arms, and trails his fingers up and down your spine.
He smells nice and his warmth is comforting, inviting. A long sigh escapes your lips and you allow yourself to relish in the feeling Jihoon brings. Tucking your face into his shoulder and melding into his hold.
"Just feeling a little worn out, but it's better now."

Tumblr media
Author’s Note: this fic is part of the Thirteen Valentines event, but can be read as a standalone! also, i would suggest listening to the song listed below to get a feel for the vibe of the fic, but it’s not necessary.
Tumblr media
flatline by 5 seconds of summer
someone just like you, no one else i’m falling for the first time heart is gonna flatline now i can’t even look at you you’re like staring at the sunshine
Tumblr media
You stand outside the crowded bar, grateful for the respite of fresh air after your time in the hazy, grimy dance club. There are only a few other patrons smoking or loitering outside as you wait for your ride to arrive, because it’s only midnight and inside, the party is just beginning.
Your head is buzzing pleasantly as you squint at your phone to check the time, the bright light from the screen making you wince. 12:07. If you were more sober, you would probably laugh at yourself. You’d gone out for a friend's birthday, but as soon as you had said the satisfactory hellos and gotten sufficiently drunk — which, arguably, didn’t take long — you’d been ready to go home. At midnight.
Your younger self is cringing.
As you gracefully get into your Uber and the driver begins to wind through the streets from the bar to your apartment, you pull up the last text thread on your phone. A smile is already on your lips just at the sight of the contact name.
Y/N [12:08am]: On my way hoooome. Hope u waited up for me!!
Your roommate shoots back a reply almost instantly, and you giggle at his response, your hand lifting to cover your mouth.
Jihoon-Ah [12:09am]: Ok. I’m still working, so keep your drunk ass quiet.
If you had it your way, he’d have come out with you. He knows all of your friends and you know all of his, but the club scene isn’t really his vibe. Plus, he has a music final due tomorrow – today? – and if there’s one thing he’s dead serious about, it’s his music.
Jihoon-Ah [12:13am]: Door’s unlocked. Be safe.
You feel a flush spread across your cheeks as the second message comes through, and warmth floods all the way down to your toes.
Jihoon always manages to do that to you. Make you blush, make you feel warm and fuzzy, make you laugh. It’s funny, because to those who don’t know him, he seems quiet and private, and maybe even a little bit closed off. But with his friends, with those who get to know him, he’s brash and hilarious, and he cares a hell of a lot about those who care about him. He’s one of your best friends, your roommate, and quite possibly the love of your life.
He doesn’t know about that last part, though, and you don’t plan on telling him anytime soon.
“Jihoon-ah,” you singsong as you finally make it into your shared apartment. He doesn’t turn to look at you from his spot on the couch, but you know he’s heard you come in by his grunt of acknowledgement. He remains where you left him, on the couch and hunched over his laptop, black hair mussed from where he’s probably been running his fingers through it as he agonises over his piece. You hastily take off your shoes before you cross the room, flopping down next to him unceremoniously. He glances at you briefly before turning back to his screen.
“Did you have fun?” He asks without looking at you.
“Mhm,” you mumble back. It’s quiet for a few moments, the sound of his fingers clicking away lulling you into a daze until he speaks up once more.
“You should change,” he says, and you turn to stretch out your legs, pointing your toes. He glances at you again as you do so, eyebrows raised. “You took off the shoes, thank god, but you’re probably not comfortable in that dress anymore.”
You yawn, smiling at his thoughtful comment before replying, “It’s called fashion, Jihoon, look it up. Beauty is pain.”
“I already told you before you went out that you looked nice, don’t push it.”
You let out a laugh at that, and the quiet smile on his lips betrays any real irritation on his part. You watch him for a moment, your eyes lingering for far too long on the softness of his mouth as he focuses back on his work.
You really hadn’t stood a single chance against falling in love with him, had you?
“I’m too tired to change,” comes your weak mumble.
“Okay,” he responds easily, his attention back on his computer again. You take the opportunity to let your eyes trace over his profile one more time; his eyelashes, his nose, the curve of his lips. The quiet contentment remains on his face, and you’re suddenly overwhelmed knowing that you’re part of the reason for it.
Your eyes finally turn to wander across the laptop screen to see what he’s working on, your head falling onto his shoulder. You’d have done it sober too, but with a bit of alcohol in your system, you’re just slightly less nervous. You can feel him tense. Your eyes fall to where his hands have paused, and for a moment, you wonder if you’ve stressed him out with the physical contact, but then his shoulders relax. It takes only a few seconds before he begins clicking and typing again, and you can’t help but smile.
You’re looking at his computer and, subsequently, at his unfinished work. You can still recall when he’d been hesitant to let anyone see his music — let alone his drunk, touchy roommate. Yet somehow, you’ve managed to secure a coveted spot in the small group of people Jihoon trusts enough to share his work with. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t still freak out every time he shares a piece he’s working on – he does, and you know that – but he insists that he wants to show you anyway. You often feel a strong sense of satisfaction in knowing what that means. It means that he trusts you — and that’s an incredible privilege.
You stay on the couch like that for a few more minutes as he continues to work, until a yawn overtakes you and on instinct, your nose turns to burrow into the crook of his neck. You let out a sigh, falling into a false sense of security for just a moment — into a world where Jihoon is yours to be with like this. Your eyes fall shut. You hardly register your own movement until it hits you that Jihoon’s entire body has gone rigid, and your eyes shoot open in a panic. You don’t think you’ve ever done that before – nuzzled into his neck like you belong there.
And now you’re terrified that you’ve finally crossed a line that you can’t come back from.
Another thing that Jihoon allows you to do more than anyone else is initiate physical contact. You’d taken advantage, and lately you’ve been toeing the line of too much. It just feels so easy to do, because you’re so drawn to him, to who he is, to the way he makes you feel — but you know it’s not fair of you. Not when he hasn’t ever expressed feeling the same way, not when he hasn’t ever protested as you go on dates, not when he hasn’t ever initiated anything himself. Jihoon always tells you it’s okay when you’re touchy, that he doesn’t mind it every once in a while, but you can’t help but feel like a complete fool.
He’s not yours, and he doesn’t want to be.
You abruptly feel yourself sober up as you scramble to move away, putting as much distance between the two of you as possible.
“You didn’t have to move,” comes his blunt reassurance, his eyes not leaving the screen of his laptop.
“I know you hate being touchy. I should have asked first. Sorry.”
“You’re always like this, especially when you’re drunk,” he retorts, “I don’t know why you’re only apologizing today.” You can’t help but shrink back against the couch, defeated.
“Sorry,” you say again, your voice small.
Jihoon looks at you then, eyebrows raised in surprise, like he really had no clue you were actually upset. “Hey, it’s okay. I always let you do it,” he adds after a moment.
“Yeah…” You trail off, and you hate the way you sound a bit like a child as you repeat, “but you hate it.”
Normally, Jihoon would ignore your tipsy pouting. He’s usually not the best at reading people – self-proclaimed – but this time, he seems to sense something’s wrong. He searches your face, and when you look away, he gently nudges your foot with his. “I don’t hate it when it’s you,” he says, quiet and serious, and you can feel his eyes still on you.
“Soonyoung and Y/N privilege,” you try to joke as you meet his eyes again, and Jihoon nods slowly. His eyebrows knit together, like he’s trying to figure something out. Whatever it is, you don’t think you want him to. “I’m going to bed,” you say, and he nods again. Neither of you says anything else, but you can feel his eyes following you as you disappear into your bedroom.
Tumblr media
It’s not unusual for Jihoon to emerge from his room around midday. What is unusual, however, is for him to be up any earlier than 10:00am. So when you leave your room at 9:30 a few days later only to find him hunched over your kitchen island, to say you’re surprised is an understatement. He’s got a near-full cup of tea in front of him, and he’s staring into the void. He doesn’t turn, even when you clear your throat, and you’re beginning to panic now.
“Jihoon?” Your hand itches to reach for him as you approach, but you don’t. You feel distinctly as though you’re trying not to startle a deer.
“Hm?” The sound of his name seems to finally jolt him out of it, and he turns to meet your eyes. Your heart breaks a little. He looks exhausted — more than usual. There’s something about his face that suggests it’s more of a mental than physical kind of tired, and you want nothing more than to give him a hug.
You tread carefully. “Did you… Go to the gym already?”
Jihoon shakes his head. You didn’t think so, given that he’s still in the shorts and t-shirt he usually sleeps in, but it seemed like a safe enough topic. He says nothing more. Why else would he be up this early? Your brain is running a million miles a minute. Something is clearly wrong, but how can you help?
You’re silent as you go about your morning, making breakfast as usual — except that this time, you make twice as much. When you place two boiled eggs and some cereal in front of him, it takes him a second to react. You try not to flush when you feel his eyes on you as you sit across from him, scrolling through your phone and taking a bite of your own food instead of acknowledging it.
“Thank you.”
You look at him when he speaks. The corner of his mouth is tilted up just so, in that quiet, wonderful Jihoon way, and you can’t help but smile back. “Of course.”
It’s quiet between the two of you as you eat. You try not to think too much about it, but lately, sitting in silence around your friend has been almost unbearable. There’s just so much you want to say, especially after the other night.
“How do you always know?”
You look at him again, eyebrows knitting together as you process his question. “Know what?”
He gazes at you for a moment, and the intensity of it has your neck flushing. Then he looks down at his plate again, and you remind yourself to breathe.
For a second you think that there's something there, something hovering between you. You just don’t know what.
“You always know when something’s up with me.”
You shrug, trying desperately not to show just how flustered you are that he’s noticed. “I’m an empath,” you offer, and Jihoon lets out a soft breath of laughter. He looks like he wants to say something else, but he doesn’t, and it almost feels like you’re both holding your breath now.
Neither of you had mentioned that night the week before. Though a part of you knows that it’s best to just let it be, another part of you almost wishes he’d brought it up. You’re so in love with him that it makes you nauseous, and you’re so aware of it. He’s all you think about, and you worry that if you don’t say it out loud soon, you’re going to explode during one of these quiet moments. You’ve tried so hard to ignore it, to push it down, but the feelings just won’t quit.
And you have no idea what to do about it.
Tumblr media
Y/N [4:12pm]: what’s my favourite music man up to?
You sniffle from your spot on your couch, curled up in your favourite fuzzy blanket. You’re miserable, despite your sunny sounding text. That’s your job, though, isn’t it? To be the happy friend? To pretend everything’s fine when it’s not?
You’d just gotten home from a grueling day at work. You’d been hoping that your roommate was home – not because you’d actually have told him you were upset, but because seeing his face makes your day brighter. But he’s not, and you’re alone.
Jihoon-ah [4:34pm]: working. I’ll be late today
Y/N [4:35pm]: classic jihoon. guess I’ll just eat alone :(
Usually, Jihoon’s short texts don’t bother you, because you know him and you know he means nothing by it. It gets to you tonight, though, because all you want right now is for him to hold you.
You wouldn’t ever ask him for it.
You selfishly wish that he would just know that you need him, but he doesn’t. He’s busy, and he’s not very affectionate at the best of times. The worst part of it all, though, is that deep down, you know he would do anything for you if you asked. But you won’t.
It’s not his fault, you remind yourself. If you don’t tell people what you want, you can’t expect them to know.
Tumblr media
You’re in your room a couple of hours later, curled up as you watch an episode of your newest binge. You’d let yourself cry, let yourself feel everything even though it hurt, and now it was on to phase two: distraction.
You’re so enthralled in your show that you don’t even hear the front door open and close. When a knock sounds at your bedroom door, you jump and sit up straight. The knock comes again, and you freeze.
“It’s me.”
Your eyes fall to your phone to check the time. You hadn’t expected him for another hour at least. You get up slowly, grimacing as you pass your reflection in the mirror, and move to open the door. He looks out of breath, almost as if he ran home, his eyes wide and his jacket still on.
“Jihoon?” You blink. “Why are you here? I thought you were working.”
“Can I come in?” He asks instead of answering. You step aside, trying to figure out why he’s home early — and why he’s knocking at your bedroom door. It’s quiet for a minute before you sit back on your bed, gesturing for Jihoon to join you. He does, hesitantly, and the room is so quiet that your heart starts to race a little.
“Is everything okay?”
He takes a deep breath. “Are you…” He winces as he trails off, a hand lifting to run through his hair. He tries again. “Are you having a bad day?”
You blink at him for a moment, surprised. “Huh?”
“Seungcheol told me that you were having a bad day.” He looks embarrassed as he says it, and you remember that you’d told your mutual friend about your shitty boss’s latest antics at lunch.
“Oh,” you manage, reminding yourself to scold Seungcheol later.
“Yeah.” He takes a deep breath, almost as if he’s trying to ground himself, and then he’s pushing forward again. “So… Are you? Having a bad day?”
You debate lying so as not to worry him, but he’s looking at you so intently that you just know you can’t. You look down at your hands. “Kind of.” Your voice is quieter now, and you can feel his eyes on you.
“Okay.”
“Yeah.” It’s quiet, and you kind of wish to be swallowed whole.
“I wish you’d told me,” he admits.
“It’s okay. I didn’t want to interrupt your… stuff.”
He shakes his head, almost like he’s frustrated, and you wish — not for the first time — that he was a bit easier to read.
“Your stuff is important to me, too,” is what he finally says, and you can feel how warm your face is getting.
“I know, but it’s okay. It’s nothing big,” you try to reassure him. “I’ll get over it.”
Jihoon hums, and when you look over at him again, you find him with his hands clasped together in his lap as he leans forward. He still seems frustrated, but you’re not sure why. “I came home as soon as he told me,” he tells you, and your stomach flips.
“You didn’t have to—“
“I’m sorry I’m bad at reading between the lines.” His interruption surprises you, and you blink back at him.
“Huh?”
Jihoon sighs, turning his body towards yours. “Even when I don’t tell you, you always know if I’m upset about something. I wish I was better at that, but I just get so focused and I don’t notice things. You know how I am.”
“It’s okay, Jihoon,” you say again. “I can’t expect you to just know how I’m feeling.”
“Yeah,” he says slowly. His gaze on you is intense, his eyes wandering across your face, and you suddenly feel self-conscious. “I guess I just wish that you, and everyone else, would be more straight up with me.”
You bite your lip. “I’m sorry.”
He shakes his head quickly. “No. Don’t be sorry, just…” He takes in another breath. You’re holding yours. “Can you please tell me next time?”
“I will. I just… don’t want you to worry about me.”
“You don’t have to be ‘on’ all the time,” he says. “Not with me.”
Your heart is ready to beat out of your chest. All you can do is say, “Wow, Jihoon, it kind of sounds like you care about me.”
When he responds easily with, “I do,” your mouth falls open a little.
The soft tone of his voice is so tender, so serious. What surprises you even more is the way he’s avoiding your eyes now, hand scratching at the back of his neck. Is he… blushing?
“I want to be there for you,” he adds a moment later, and you think you must be dreaming. He straightens, meeting your eyes again, and your breath is caught in your throat. He searches your face for a moment before he says, “I’m bad at knowing when people need me. I know that. But I’m telling you that I want you to tell me when you need me, because I want to be there for you.”
“Jihoon…”
“Please tell me you understand what I’m saying.”
The room falls silent. Your mind is running a mile a minute as you process, but you know you have to take the risk — so you do.
Your fingers find his, a slow brush of skin against skin as you wait for him to make the next move. Your heart nearly beats out of your chest when he closes the gap, lacing his fingers through yours, and squeezes.
“Yeah,” you whisper. “I understand exactly what you’re saying.”
“And?”
“I care about you too, Lee Jihoon. So much.”
“Yeah?” It comes out as a whisper, and you’re rewarded with a smile when you nod.
“Yeah.” You flush, opening your mouth to speak again, but nothing comes out. Jihoon tilts his head as you play with his fingers nervously.
“What?”
“Can you… Would you kiss me?”
Jihoon’s smile widens, even though you can see the tips of his ears turning red in the dim light of your room. “I can do that,” he murmurs, his free hand finding your face, and your nervous inhale is quieted by his mouth on yours.
It’s gentle and slow. It’s Jihoon, and he’s kissing you, and it’s everything you’ve ever wanted.
When you pull away, you’re blushing. You let your forehead fall forward against his shoulder, and you can feel him laugh as his hand lifts to your back.
“Do you want to talk?“ He asks gently. “About your day?”
You shake your head no, moving back to look up at him as you say, “Don’t worry. My day is much better now.”

yin and yang — j.ww
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: bf!wonwoo x fem!reader
genre: fluff
wk: 0.5k
warnings: mentions of chinese philosophical symbol (yin and yang if you could consider it as a warning)
summary: you and your boyfriend decide to watch a movie for the night, but you end up admiring each other's face.
Tumblr media
rest is all wonwoo needed right now. just him, you and movies. finally that day arrived. a day off, which you obviously used as your advantage as a couple. today wonwoo didn't feel like hanging out and proposed to stay at home and spend time together by playing games, cooking and cuddling. to which you agreed immediately.
you and wonwoo are the perfect mach. like two magnets, like the sun and the moon, like the north pole and the south pole, like the yin, the night, the femaleness, passivity and absorption and the yang, the daylight, the maleness, light and heaven. it's like you two complete each other.
after a day of playing games, cooking and various activities, the night has arrived. you agreed on watching a movie (avatar 2) and just cuddle on the couch.
"everyone loves this movie" you say looking at the movie as it starts.
"yeah, i heard a lot of positive feedbacks too, we will probably like it as well, since we enjoyed the first one" he replies smiling at you.
you get comfortable, putting your head on his shoulder, as his arm wraps around your body.
wonwoo glances down at you, only to see your eyes glued to the tv, concentrated and bond to the movie, your brows furrowed a little. he now notices also your cute pyjamas, your messy bun, your bare face. the corner of his lips curve upward a little, admiring your face, realising that you were beautiful, and he was lucky to have you.
you on the other hand were too concentrated on the movie. after a while you felt like being observed, so you turn your head to the side, to see your boyfriend staring at you with a little smile on his face.
"what? is there something on my face?" you ask lifting yourself from him a little. he doesn't reply, only shakes his head while smiling a little.
"why are you staring at me then?" you laugh a little. "nothing...just pretty" he replies. you smile widens as you snuggle close to him.
now you're the one to look up at him, and notice his glasses, his messy hair, his cute pyjamas (that matched with yours) and realised that he was handsome. and how lucky you were to have him.
you are both so whipped for each other.
he notices your stare, and looks down at you for the nth time. and everything freezes. no one paying attention to the movie anymore.
you stayed like that for who knows how long, just looking at each other, admiring each other, loving each other. your eyes locked, you saw the universe in his and he saw the stars in yours. just like two pieces that completed each other.
you slowly put a hand on his cheek, caressing it as he leans in your touch. you two keep looking at each other adoringly while smiling like idiots.
"i love you" he suddenly says, without breaking eye contact.
you smile, your eyes still locked in his. "i love you too, wonwoo".
there's always a piece of him in your heart and soul, just like there's a piece of you in his. because the yin always has a piece of yang in it, just like yang has a piece of the yin.
Tumblr media
a/n: thank you @jeonride for the request! very very sweet, we love a soft wonwoo! i think i got carried away and added little off-topic details. my bad guys i just love being philosophical LMFAO. just to clarify, yin and yang are opposites but they also complete each other. i honestly don't know if reader and wonwoo are opposites, you can interpretate it the way you want. it's a bit short kinda like a drabble, but still i hope you guys will like it!

love or letter: woozi version

word count: 12k+
genre: semi-enemies to lovers, office romance, fluff

Tumblr media
“Hello and welcome back to… Boo!”
“...Seok!”
“...Soon!”
“Radio Show!”
Chorus of laughter could be heard from around the recording room as the three hosts finished the final portion of the introduction together. Papers could also be heard being shuffled as the hosts eased themselves out of their advertisement break and into their next segment.
“Thank you very much for the love and support you sent us on our official Instagram page during our short university break. I hope all of you enjoyed my takeover for that day—”
“Yeah, I’m sure everyone enjoyed the tiger room tour you gave to our poor listeners, Hoshi.” DK interrupted. A thump could be heard, along with DK yelping in pain for a split second. “Just so listeners know, Kwon Hoshi just hit me, his coworker/host.”
Hoshi could be heard yelling something at him in rushed sentences, though it sounded as if he were underwater from the quality of the mics. They only seemed to stop themselves when a tapping from glass could be heard. Both sounded to be settled back into their seats as they continued with their show.
“Right, onto everyone’s favorite segment: Love or Letter!” Hoshi said excitedly, though there seemed to be a lack for it’s usual excitement in the studio as weak claps could be heard instead. Hoshi seemed to have picked this up as he asked, “Huh? Is something wrong?”
“I know that most of you are here for our most recent Love or Letter, but this one is a little strange. It’s only about half a page long but it’s quite… A tell-all, that’s for sure.” Seungkwan commented, letting out an awkward cough as he shook at the letter in front of him. Scraping from chairs could be heard, which was followed up by laughter from the two other hosts. “Kwon Hoshi, you read it since this is your undoing.”
Laughter had yet to cease, the sound of what’s mixed between a snort and crying could only be heard from the studio. Seungkwan did not hesitate to yell out his fellow host’s name once more, only earning a winded “Okay, okay!” from the other man.
Hoshi cleared his throat, remnants of a laugh ready to slip from his lips as he spoke. “Okay… Dear BooSeokSoon, usually this kind of letter comes from cliche shows and I dearly hope this letter becomes buried amongst the many letters your Love or Letter Team receives on a daily basis, but this is not much of advice and more of a confession…"
Tapping from the glass could be heard once more, a little more panicked than last time. Hoshi let out a hum, as if ignoring whoever was tapping on the other side, continuing. "...to your producer, Jihoon. The moment I saw his picture on Hoshi's Instagram post, I couldn't help but fall for him. I understand if he won't accept my affections, but if he ever sees or hears this letter, please know that Kim Gi—"
"AHHH!" Someone interrupts. Seungkwan. "We read the letters, not expose their names and addresses."
"How could he? She put her name and number down for our PD Jihoon to take." DK says, laughing. The knocking turned more erratic, silencing anything else anyone had to say. DK coughed. “Well… Dear writer, I’m sorry to say this will be a Letter. Our PD Jihoon is pretty anti—”
“Caught up with work!” Hoshi interrupted. “Anyways, sorry to cut the segment so short, we’ve hit a bit of a little issue here at the radio station. Tune in tomorrow night for our other special segment, Paranormals With Peachy, and to hear our daily campus news! Thank you again for listening to BooSeokSoon Radio and have a good night everyone!”
A chorus of goodbye’s from the other hosts could be heard. A final awkward sigh could be heard before the radio cuts off—
[Name] wasn’t sure if she wanted to peel away from the glass just yet. She could feel him staring at the back of her head, which would’ve frightened her if she wasn’t so exhausted. Her palm stung from how hard she was hitting the glass to make the hosts stop talking.
How am I supposed to take tomorrow’s exam if my palm’s going to bruise up? She asked herself, eyes never leaving Seokmin, who offered her a passive smile as he, Soonyoung, and Seungkwan settled their headsets on their respective mic stands. They were deliberately slow this time, much to [Name]’s chagrin.
“You let one of those letters slip through.” His voice held no such emotion, like it usually does, but the emphasis could be heard even if it was verbal.
[Name] closed her eyes, mentally bringing her walls up as she turned around to look at Jihoon. “I swear I made sure to separate the piles properly.”
“Not properly enough.” Jihoon chastised. The hosts were sure to be quiet to shut the door as quietly as possible, though it didn’t stop Jihoon from snapping his head at them, eyes narrowing at the three men. “And why did you three just keep reading?”
[Name] was glad everyone else from their respective teams were kind enough to clear away from the room before the radio show ended. At least this way they wouldn’t have to hear four of the five members that drove the show to be chewed out.
“Because it was entertaining.” Soonyoung answered honestly, sending a teasing smile toward Jihoon, who only rolled his eyes. “C’mon, Jihoon, it was a little funny. Those confession letters honestly just come from pure intentions—”
“And somehow makes a fool out of me—” Jihoon snapped.
“—and cut [Name] some slack. She spent the whole week separating your confession letters from the actual confession letters, printed out apology notes to any of the addressed senders, and was the one to narrow down the possible stories for us to use. And that was on top of everything else she’s usually supposed to do.” Soonyoung explained, giving the younger woman an easy smile.
Seungkwan nodded. “I’m sure someone just mixed up the papers when it was brought over to us. [Name] would’ve spotted it if she was the one to physically take it over to us herself.”
Jihoon was only seething in silence, [Name] fighting off the urge to tear at her hair in frustration. Her eyes narrowed in on her hand, finding the bruise forming on her wrist more interesting than the conversation. Though if she were to be honest, any conversation could be better than this one.
Her mind replayed every single moment that happened up until she handed off the stacks to her assistants. Had she told the wrong person to bring it to Seokmin? Why hadn’t they double checked like she asked them to? Either way, she knew it was her fault some way or another and she wasn’t sure how long she’s going to keep her job after this.
“I’m sorry.” [Name] said finally, bowing deeply to Jihoon and the three other hosts. “I swear I separated them—”
“Yeah, I know.” Jihoon started, only stopping when [Name] sent him a look that only seemed befitting to his own special glare.
“At least let me finish?” [Name] suggested, voice quipped as if she were a school teacher talking to a child. “I should have double—no, triple checked those stacks of letters. If I had done that in the first place, the segment wouldn’t have to be cut short and we wouldn’t be here.”
Seokmin shook his head. “No it’s okay. I should’ve checked on the papers before the show started too instead of handing it over to the other two. Besides, this is just your first mistake. You haven’t made any since you were moved up from production assistant to head producer for the Love or Letter team.”
[Name] nodded, appreciating the hosts' understanding, though she wasn’t sure if Jihoon would accept her apology. She bowed again to Jihoon, muttering another quiet apology to the man.
“Just… Don’t do it again. And make sure to keep your team in check and I want you to be the one to physically bring it over to Seokmin so you can triple check you have the right story next time. Got it?” Jihoon asked. At [Name]’s nod, he turned for the door, stopping as he turned to take a good look at [Name]. “And next time, don’t stay up so late trying to separate those letters. You’ve got five other people on your team to help you with those.”
With those words, Jihoon exited, Soonyoung following shortly after. [Name] sat on the leather couch behind her, digging her head into her hands as she let out a tired sigh. The couch dipped, Seokmin’s hand patting her back. “Don’t sweat it. Everyone makes mistakes all the time.”
Sungkwan hummed in agreement. “And it’s not as if Jihoon’s picture perfect either. He made plenty of mistakes before he became the radio show’s producer.”
“That’s the thing: before he was a producer. I’m a producer now and I made a mistake even rookies were able to avoid.” [Name] grumbled, rubbing at her eyes.
Sungkwan and Seokmin let out noises of discontent at their friend. “Don’t be so hard on yourself; the school year’s just begun and you’re still adjusting. Jihoon’s pretty forgiving after he’s finished with his chastising; he’s too busy to stay too mad.”
[Name] rolled her eyes at the last notion. “Sure, sure. As if he hasn’t had it out for me the minute I stepped foot into the building to meet up with him this summer.”
She hadn’t been wrong; when she had just been a production assistant to Yeri a year prior, Lee Jihoon had been nice to her—or polite, at least. Always offered small bows of acknowledgement whenever she was trailing behind Yeri or was by herself in the small office space provided to the Love or Letter team.
Once Yeri had graduated, Mr. Yang had been the one to announce [Name]’s step up into the open position her mentor left behind, suddenly making Jihoon become colder for some reason toward her.
The meet up she had with him and Mr. Yang had gone smoothly on the surface, but she could still feel the coldness behind Jihoon’s tone when narrowing down expectations needed once she became a producer.
Regardless, she kept her temper from rising and did her best to keep her composure throughout the meeting, though that didn’t stop her from dropping certain comments at him afterward. Especially when she felt as if she wasn’t wrong or trying to amend her wrongdoings.
Maybe she was just overthinking, but she was sure Lee Jihoon had it out for her and she was more than ready to hold her ground. Except now, though. That blunder was definitely her fault.
“Don’t be like that.” Seokmin responded, nudging her shoulder. “You probably just need to get some more sleep; there’s been a lot of confession letters sent to Jihoon after Soonyoung posted a picture of him last year and it accumulated during the summer. He seemed to understand in the end anyways.”
“Right… Right…”
“You have been getting enough rest, right?” Seungkwan asked, though all three of them knew the answer already. “How have you been?”
[Name] sighed. “Fine, I guess.” Silence had never felt louder as she could feel her best friends eyeing her suspiciously. “I’m just… Here, okay? It’s better than the last time you guys asked me if it makes you feel better.”
“Do you wanna talk about it?” Seungkwan asked, standing up. “We can go get food and head back to my apartment.”
“No, I just wanna get my stuff and head home.” [Name] responded honestly, making sure to offer Seungkwan a kind smile. “Thank you for being concerned for me, though. I really mean that.”
Sungkwan nodded. “Any time.”
“We’re always here, you know.” Seokmin said, offering her a side hug before they stood up.
They all walked out together, separating when [Name] walked over to her office and the other two moving toward their own. “Don’t stay up all night!” Sungkwan said.
“I won’t!” [Name] responded, well aware she was most likely going to, in fact, stay up all night. Her bag had already been packed and her coat folded on top of her chair. With a quick swing at both items, [Name] walked out of her office, fishing for her headphones as she walked out.
Two familiar voices and her name could be heard at the other end of the hall, however, making [Name] stop under the assumption her name was being called. [Name] was ready to call back and ask what was needed before she registered what was being said.
“...some slack, already, man. Do you not see how exhausted the poor girl is?” Soonyoung asked. “And you can tell she’s definitely going to make up for it. I swear she would have broken the glass with how hard she was tapping the glass earlier. She’s really trying her best.”
Jihoon sighed. “Her best isn’t enough. I don’t understand why Yeri and Mr. Yang wanted her become a producer with only a year under her belt. She’s too young to work with that kind of role and it’s obvious.”
“Why are you so hard on her anyways? The Lover or Letter team liked her before and after she became a producer.”
“I’m not being hard on her; I just don’t like something I spent four years building up with you come crumbling down by some second year.”
[Name] held her breath. Did he really think she was that incapable? Enough to tear down a four year radio station? She was almost ready to jump out of her hiding spot, ready to tell Jihoon off and ask him if he thought of Seungkwan and Seokmin, who were also second years with higher positions at the radio station, that way as well.
She only halted when she heard Jihoon yelp. “Ow! You dick!”
“You’re the one being a dick.” Soonyoung admonished. “Like I said, cut her some slack. She’s definitely trying so give her a chance. It’s only the beginning of the school year, too, so let everyone adjust. Besides… I think something’s going on with her.”
Jihoon huffed. “Why?”
“I don't know. She just seems like she’s keeping herself busy from something and she wasn’t like this last year. Of course, you wouldn’t know because you never spoke to her.”
“Hey—”
“That being said, be nice to her. She really did work her ass off this week; I swear she practically lives here if she’s not in class…”
Their voices faded out and [Name] could only wonder to herself how much had she changed and how obvious was it to the point that even an acquaintance like Soonyoung noticed it. Her brain was too muddled to think of anything, though, exhaustion clinging to her tighter.
She put on her headphones, immediately allowing the sound of instrumental music to flood her senses. She walked with the intention of slumber, though her mind continued to replay the continued conversation in her head, fighting off the sting whenever she remembered Jihoon’s words.

Naturally, news made its way around campus about last week’s fiasco on Love or Letter. Everywhere [Name] went, she could hear someone talking or spreading word of what happened in Love or Letter. And she never felt more embarrassment in her life.
When she found herself at the office of BSS Radio, she was quick to speed off to the Love or Letter office. [Name] evaded any probing questions the other segment teams had for her.
She wasn’t sure she was ready to explain her mistake and be the focus of ridicule just yet, though it seemed she had been the only one to view it that way. The segment’s events spread around like wildfire—interesting everyone and essentially inviting more people to listen to the radio station, Love or Letter in particular.
[Name] had expected some kind of termination request from Jihoon, especially after what she had heard from him from that night, but she hadn’t heard from him at all since the incident. She had wondered for the duration of the week as to why, though a quick call from the Love or Letter production manager, Colette, telling her to come to the station nearly sent her into a panic.
Like usual, [Name] speed walked to her office, more curious as to what exactly Colette needed from her if she was needed so desperately at the station.
Maybe I’m getting fired and Colette was promoted…? [Name] had initially thought as she opened the door.
“[Name] wait—!” A voice called out, cutting off when [Name] let out a gasp as a pile of letters fell at her feet. Evelyn, one of the new production assistants, had made her presence known as she leaned over the remaining pile in front of the door to pick up the fallen letters. “Sorry, I should’ve moved them.”
[Name] leaned down to help her. From behind the girl sat Colette, who was opening letters and sorting them into bins. Her eyes only furrowed in confusion when their eyes locked, silently asking her what was happening.
“Ever since word went out on what happened, more people have sent in letters.” Colette explained, waving a piece of paper around. “Those piles on your feet are unopened ones. Come in and help us sort it out.”
[Name] nodded, speechless at the information as she stepped over. From another side of the room stood the Love or Letter writers, Amelia, Eunwoo, and Jian. They offered a wordless nod as they filtered letters into more bins. “How many people sent letters?” She asked, a little afraid of what the number was.
“Almost three hundred—that’s twice as much as what we usually get on a usual basis.” Amelia informed, an excited smile on her face. “Almost all of them are actual letters instead of the ones we’ve been getting. Of course some of them are kind of useless, though—majority love confessions to Jihoon and others just writing crude things to see if they can get it on air—”
“Which we won’t.”Colette said. “Because all six of us are gonna sort this out together instead of leaving [Name] in the dust with this pile. And we won’t be giving the wrong files without checking over with everyone, will we?”
Everyone nodded in agreement and [Name] made use of their cooperation as she sat down on her desk and started working on sorting papers out with them.
“You should’ve seen the look on Jihoon’s face.” Evelyn said. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen him express anything past irritation until he came to the letter box today; he had to call every single one of us to help with moving these letters to this room. He looked like he was stuck in a daze!”
“Why did he call all of you and not me?” [Name] inquired, only earning a shrug from the younger girl. She shot Colette a look in confusion. “Does he not trust me anymore or something?”
Colette shook her head, eyeing her oddly. “Quite the opposite. He asked me where you were and I said you’re probably still asleep since you’re done with class. Told me to only call you unless it’s necessary.” She motioned for the piles of letters. “It’s kind of necessary right now so sorry if I woke you up.”
“You didn’t.” [Name] reassured, opening the letter in her hands, sorting through the papers as if it were second nature once she found herself moving.
Almost an hour had passed through their sorting and [Name] only listened to her team’s conversation, only passing in conversations with Colette every now and then. A knock on the door brought her back to reality. Leaning her head over the pile of letters in front of her, she spotted  Jihoon hovering at the doorway, red envelope in hand.
His eyes scanned the room, mouth ajar as he checked the space around them. "Uwah…" Was all he could manage out. "This is a lot."
"Yeah it is." [Name] agreed, watching as he tried to carefully step over the pile of envelopes at the doorway in amusement. He shuffled his way over to [Name], staring at her curiously.
"I thought you were supposed to be asleep."
"Couldn't." [Name] answered simply, seamlessly opening another envelope as she quickly filtered through it to decide on which pile to place it. Jihoon frowned at her words.
"Why?"
[Name] shot him a strange look. "I just couldn't. Why are you so concerned anyways?"
She bit back her tongue when she realized how sharp her tone was, though she had no means of apologizing. If he was more than willing to express his displeasure with her whenever he felt like it, she most definitely can do the same thing.
Her eyes were trained on his, noticing the slight twitch when she sent out her biting words toward him. She waited for him to respond to her in some sort of tone similar to her’s, half expecting him to mention that her job is still currently being evaluated for a clause of termination.
Instead, Jihoon only sighed, rubbing the back of his neck before moving his hand up to push back some of his hair. “Nothing. Here’s information for next week’s radio show.”
“Oh, okay. Thank you.” [Name] said half heartedly. She stood up, accepting the red envelope and setting it on her table. She returned her attention back to the letters right afterwards, though she could still see Jihoon hovering around longer than expected. “...do you need anything else, Jihoon?”
“Huh?” Jihoon asked, clearly in a bit of a daze. As much as he attempted to remain as stoic as possible, he was horrible at hiding his embarrassment. “Oh—uhm, no. Good luck with all of this. And, uh, don’t push yourself too hard this time. Wouldn’t want something like last week to happen.”
[Name] felt irritation bubble up in her chest, though she pushed it aside as she watched Jihoon awkwardly turn and walk out of her office. She waited for the door to shut before turning to make eye contact with Colette, who looked just as confused as she was.
Since when did Jihoon become so concerned? Or, even more shocking, when did Jihoon ever hold a conversation with her for more than five minutes when it’s not a staff meeting?
Tumblr media
If there was anything [Name] hated more than anything, it was phone calls. She wasn’t sure why she was so irked by them; maybe it was because she was so used to speaking to people in person? Or it could be the fact she wasn’t able to gauge what people were actually able to feel if she can’t see their face.
Whatever reason it may be, [Name] hated them to the point she would avoid them if they weren’t work related. Though, recently she’s been needing to answer personal ones more frequently, much to her chagrin.
“Are you coming home this weekend? It’s your dad’s—”
“I’m well aware of what this weekend is, Mom.” [Name] interrupted, letting out an irritated groan when he hip knocked onto a stack of paperwork to the ground.
It was late into the afternoon and [Name] was already behind on whatever needed to be finished before she left today. She cursed herself for answering the phone and having to prepare herself for an argument with her mother.
“Well then are you coming? You hardly leave campus since you went back to school. Honestly it’s kind of selfish of you to leave like that.”
[Name] snorted out a laugh, temper rising at her mother’s backhanded comments. “So, are you trying to get me to come visit or just helping me find reasons to not come home?”
“That’s not what I meant. It’s just… You haven’t been home to help out like you promised.”
Seriously…? “Last time I checked, I was helping pay for the twins’ uniforms and cram school funds.” [Name] said, voice tense. “And I’m paying for their fees for their daily tutoring every week.”
A growing headache was blooming on the side of her head and [Name] was more than ready to hang up any minute to tend to it. She barely processed the swing of her office door, which revealed Jihoon walking in with courteous silence.
He rocked on the balls of his heels as he pointed at his watch, indicating the time for her to turn in one of her written proposals for next week’s segment. [Name] nodded, standing up with one hand on her phone as she rifled through the pile of papers she had all but forgotten on the floor.
“I mean, can you just be more present with us?”
“Honestly, with the way you talk to me, no.” [Name] said, anger almost bubbling over as she cast a glance at the still waiting Jihoon. Once she found the right papers, she double checked for a moment. “Mom, I have to go. I’ll call you later, bye.”
She hung up before she could hear whatever else her mother had to say stepping over the piles of papers to make her way over to Jihoon, who eyed her strangely.
“Everything alright..?” He asked.
[Name] only sighed. “I’d rather not talk about it.”
“Okay.” Jihoon replied, shrugging. For some reason, the simple response brought her shoulders to relax slightly, glad someone wasn’t going to press her for answers at the moment. “Anything you want changed for next week’s segment?”
“Not much. Evelyn mentioned something about Love or Letter needing a catchy tune now that the segment’s been spiking in popularity, though.” [Name] said, watching as Jihoon’s face morphed into slight disdain. She fought off a laugh, reminding herself to not question his obvious dislike if he wasn’t going to question her phone call.
“I’ll see what I can do.” Was all Jihoon said instead. “Though I would need someone from your team to work with so I can see what you all want.”
[Name] hummed, thinking back on who on her staff was available the following month. “Hmm… Colette is out of town for her internship and Evelyn is visiting her grandma for the next two weeks. And the writers are working on an upcoming event already but I think I can pull one of them out to help you.”
“What about you?”
“Huh?” [Name] asked, eyes that were once downcasted on her phone shooting back up to stare at Jihoon’s face.
He motioned to her. “What about you? Maybe you can just help me.”
“I’ve got a family obligation this weekend.” [Name] said, motioning to her phone as if to remind him about the conversation earlier.
Jihoon shrugged. “Just tell me when you come back and we can work on it together. It’s not as if you don’t practically live here anyways.”
“I don’t practically live here…”
“You have pajama pants to change into when it gets too late.”
[Name] shot him an odd look, not sure if she should question how he knew about her Hello Kitty printed pants that she thought she had hidden away in one of her desk drawers.
“Fine, fine. I don’t get why you’re so adamant that it has to be me, though.”
Jihoon rolled his eyes. “You’re the only producer for this team. Producers are supposed to work with each other, right?”
"Right… I just wasn't sure if—" [Name] bit her lip back, not wanting him to find out she overheard his conversation with Soonyoung. "I'll let you know once I get back on campus and we can work on it that day."
"Working the day you get back?" Jihoon questioned, earning a lackluster nod from [Name]. “Don’t you ever get sick of this place?”
“Not really; I kinda like my job.” [Name] said, though the tone in her voice was unconvincing.
It was true; [Name] did like her job, despite all the trouble she’s recently had to undo. Something about the process of turning an idea into reality fascinated her and being a producer provided that type of environment for her.
[Name] had lost count of how many times she found herself pooled into her work to the point she’d have to get dragged out of the office by Seungkwan or Seokmin.
Right now, [Name] was more than tempted to see if she can go push her limits since she ended her phone call with her mother. She was sure this would also most likely cause Jihoon to not want to work with her if he ever saw her working conditions.
“If we’re done here, I need to head home now instead of later. I’ve got a few bags to pack right now.” [Name] said, clear with her intentions of wanting to end the conversation.
Jihoon stared at her, though what was going on in his mind, she hadn’t a clue. He only nodded once he let the words process through his brain. “Yeah, go ahead. I’ll see you when you come back; I’m working late so this is probably the last you’ll see of me.”
“Working late on a Friday? Aren’t you sick of this place?” [Name] asked, holding back a smile when she echoed his words. He only huffed out a laugh—a rare thing from him, honestly, [Name] should’ve recorded it to show Seungkwan and Seokmin—shaking his head as he moved aside to let [Name] out the door.
They didn’t bother greeting each other goodbye—a habit they both formed with one another due to the weird work tension they had. [Name] made sure to remind herself to change that once she came back now that some of that pressure had all but subsided.
Tumblr media
Strange. That was the word Yeri had used when she mentioned her for the first time to Jihoon.
“She’s kind of strange, according to Professor Im. But talented. Super talented. He was practically begging me to take her under my wing so she can have a taste of production life early. Mr. Yang seemed impressed with her too. Just give her a shot this year, Jihoon, so you can see what they’re talking about.”
Jihoon had almost believed the upperclassman, expecting some kind of extraordinary freshman to be making waves at the radio station. Instead, he was met with a frantic looking girl always cowering behind Yeri whenever there were staff meetings.
Regardless, he was nice to [Name] during her first year, even taking in her recommendation of bringing Seungkwan and Seokmin in to be new possible hosts for the radio show after the previous two hosts graduated.
He had thought whatever Yeri was spewing out previously had disenchanted her before she graduated, choosing a different employee to be her successor for the Love or Letter segment team. Yet, she had still chosen the cowering girl and irked him beyond a point.
His doubts only subsided slightly when Soonyoung had mentioned to him she was acting differently than she had the previous year. He hadn’t believed his friend, thinking Soonyoung had some sort of soft side on the girl for being younger than them, until he had admitted that, yes, [Name] was anything but that frightened girl now.
Honestly, if the circumstances would be different, Jihoon would be glad someone like her broke out of her shell. He wasn't, though. Something just felt off about her behavior—like it was forced. Regardless, the strange girl he remembered was still around, evident from watching her stare at herself in muted horror at the gym for a little too long.
And the strange girl definitely hadn't left as he heard a crash sound from the other side of her apartment door, making him jump at the sudden noise he wasn't able to see. A shriek that definitely didn't sound like [Name]'s rang through from the door.
"Kill it! Kill it!"
"I can't if you're running so much—you're scaring it away!"
Those two voices definitely sounded familiar, though.
A sudden thump! could be heard, followed with a soft, "You're going to get us kicked out before the lease ends, you know." [Name].
Footsteps could be heard making its way to the door and [Name] stood before Jihoon, a slipper with a thoroughly squished spider  in her left hand, still retracted as if ready to smack another one. Jihoon could only offer a stuttered, "He-eyy." in shock, eyeing the two figures behind her.
If they hadn't already been embarrassed, then Seokmin and Seungkwan definitely were with the way they made eye contact with Jihoon—who suddenly remembered he was their boss. [Name] hadn't seemed to care, however, setting the slipper down on the tiled floor of the entrance and stepping back.
"Oh, you weren't kidding when you said Jihoon was coming over." Seokmin said, gaping as the man walked in and took off his shoes (which was deliberately placed far away from [Name]'s spider'd slipper).
[Name] only offered a frown. "You didn't believe me?"
"No one would believe the idea of you and Jihoon working together, period." Seungkwan chimed in, also watching as [Name] and Jihoon exchanged awkward glances. "Why are you two working together?"
"Love or Letter jingle." Jihoon finally stated simply. He motioned toward the guitar strapped to his back. "We were supposed to meet a few days ago but—"
"I got a stay at home order from a certain someone." [Name] interrupted, giving Seungkwan a pointed look.
"You barely got home before you started spewing nonsense about going to the studio!" He countered back. “You’ll overwork yourself ag—”
Seungkwan bit back his words, sharing a knowing look with [Name], who only stared back at him blankly, as if attempting to stay unreadable. Seokmin shuffled his feet awkwardly, trying his best not to glance between his friends and Jihoon.
Jihoon could only raise an eyebrow. That was the first time he heard that. When they had been messaging each other back and forth, he had been under the impression that [Name] was already back home when in fact she was probably still with her family? He watched as [Name] shifted uncomfortably, as if not wanting to talk further about it.
He only sighed. "Workaholic lifestyles are hard to break." He said instead, offering [Name] a sympathetic glance. "Are we going to your room or staying out here?"
[Name] frowned at him for a moment, staying silent a little too long for his liking before she pointed toward a door. "My room. If we stay out here, Seokmin and Seungkwan might try giving unwanted input."
"Hey—" Seokmin started.
"Or squawk like a bunch of chickens if they see another spider."
"HEY!" Seungkwan countered this time, face bright red.
[Name] ignored her fuming roommates, motioning for Jihoon to follow her. He didn't bother to think twice, finding her nonchalant behavior more amusing than offending.
When he entered the room, he hadn't expected it to be so… Was girly the right term? He eyed the heart shaped pencil sharpener and the various plants being held by Sanrio themed pots.
No, cute. He thought as he made eye contact with a Badtz-Maru pot. "Nice pots." He mused to [Name], who was cleaning up her space. She glanced at him, then the pot.
"He looks like you." She says instead, making him give her a strange look.
He pointed at a Gudetama shaped pot on her window. "And that looks like you."
[Name] glanced at it, offering a small laugh. "Yeah, it does. Doesn't it?"
The hairs on the back of his neck stood up for a moment, caught off hearing her laugh—genuine and not the little huff of air he usually hears from her when she’s trying to amuse someone. He shook it off, however, reminding himself why he was here.
They worked together a little too well. It almost scared Jihoon with how well they got along tonight. Though, he had been anticipating some arguments so maybe he was just stupid for making such presumptions. Hours had gone by and the only reason they had to stop was when Seungkwan knocked on the door, popping his head in after [Name] called his name out.
He motioned to something in his hand. “Take it.” He commanded, shaking the bottle of water in his hand.
[Name] rolled her eyes, glancing at the clock on her desk. “It’s not even 8PM yet.”
“You almost forgot to take them last night. It’s better to take them early.” The blond answered back dismissively.
“You worry more than me.” Jihoon heard her murmur under her breath as she pushed herself off her seat.
“What?” Seungkwan challenged, eyes sharp when he locked eyes with [Name]’s.
“Nothing, dad.” [Name] teased, holding her hand out. A set of capsules escaped from Seungkwan’s hands and spilled onto her. [Name] took them quickly, drawing the pills down with the water bottle Seungkwan handed over to her right after.
Seungkwan nodded in approval, casting a glance at Jihoon before saying, “Okay, back to work.”
“M’kay.” [Name] answered back dismissively, settling back down on her seat. She kept her eyes on the door until it was fully shut, letting out a sigh once she heard it click in place. She looked over at Jihoon, who was still silently watching. “Sorry… He gets worried too much.”
“He’s a good friend.” Jihoon complimented, pausing for a moment. “Or boyfriend..?”
[Name] huffed. “‘Stand in-parent' is a better term for him.” She countered, shaking her head. “I didn’t balance school and work properly last year and he’s worried it’ll happen again if I keep working—which, fine, I get but I kinda wanna not get behind on anything for the studio—”
She cut herself off, biting at her lip to keep her from saying anything further. [Name] shifted back into her seat, eyes nearly burning holes onto her computer screen.
For some reason, the hairs on the back of Jihoon’s neck stood up again. “It’s fine. I get it.” He offered her. She sent him a sparing glance—as if silently begging him to change the subject. Again, he nodded, setting his guitar back on his lap again, though not before adding something. “It’s okay to, y’know…Not hold up a persona around me. I don’t bite.”
He only offered an awkward smile as he noticed, again, she was giving him a long, hard stare.
“Let’s go back to the song.” She said.
Whether she took his words to heart or not, a weight seemed to have lifted off [Name]’s shoulders, sitting a lot more relaxed in her seat. A wave of relief washed over him when he noticed the strange girl from last year had come up just a little bit to the surface as he watched her for a moment before turning his attention to her computer screen.
Tumblr media
Pacing. Jihoon noticed that was a tendency she had when she was overwhelmed. She'd move from one end of the room to another in such a short span of time, no matter how big the distance. Jihoon was impressed; in fact, he wasn't sure if he could even take his eyes off her from how quick she did it.
Was he trying to figure out how she moves so fast or was it because he just wants to stare at her? He couldn't figure it out; he was still trying to figure out a bigger problem: why was she pacing so much?
“You wanna calm down, you’re distracting me.” Jihoon said, watching as [Name] halted in her footsteps.
“I don’t know how everything else in your room doesn’t distract you.” She says, eyes looking around the constellation ceiling.
They had gotten into a weird rhythm of going to each other’s apartments once a week to work on Love or Letter’s opening music. It was Jihoon’s turn to host, though he had a difficult time trying to think (let alone, play) anything with the amount of pacing his guest was doing.
“You act like you’ve never seen my room before.” He mumbles, glancing down at his music sheet, trying his best not to stare at the wandering girl. He couldn’t, however, after seeing her inch closer to his figurine shelves. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” [Name] responded, eyeing his Cardcaptor Sakura figurine intently. She cast a glance back at him. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to touch your prized possessions, Mr. Lee.”
[Name] laughed as she watched Jihoon roll his eyes at the nickname she gave him after showing him a love confession addressing him like that. He set his guitar down, leaning back in his chair as he turned himself to face her.
“You only pace when something’s wrong. Now, tell me what’s wrong so I don’t have to worry about having to clean up broken glass later.” He said, pushing the empty chair beside him out. [Name], albeit a little annoyed, made no move to argue as she sat down.
“I failed my exam today.”
Jihoon shot her a confused look. A part of him wanted to ask her if that was all, if that was really the reason why she was doing all this incessant pacing. The sullen look on her face was enough to tell him to do anything but that at the moment.
“Oh… That sucks.” He says, earning a hopeless look from [Name].
“You really suck with reassuring people, you know that?” She states. He only offered a silence of agreement to the statement, staring at her and waiting. “But, yeah it does suck; I studied just about everything and still managed to fail. Not really the best feeling.”
“So why the pacing?” Jihoon asked.
[Name]’s face morphed to one of embarrassment as she said, “I didn’t want to bother you with my life problems and pacing around helps me keep quiet… Clearly that didn’t work out.”
Jihoon smiled at the small joke. “Well, I’m in need of a break anyways. I lost track of time trying to figure this music out. Let’s just sit for a few minutes. Or pace.”
“Huh, Lee Jihoon admitting to a break? Didn’t think your little robot heart could do that.” [Name] said, earning a soft elbow to her side.
“You’re one to talk.” Jihoon responds, smile widening as he watches [Name] feign hurt when overdramatically rubbing her side. “I heard from Colette you barely even pay attention to time and just hold yourself up in the office. She’s also the one who told me about your Hello Kitty pajama pants.”
He nearly burst out into laughter when he heard [Name] whisper “Traitor” under her breath. Jihoon held himself back as he reminded himself that it might end up bringing one of his other roommates into his room, essentially bursting whatever safe bubble [Name] felt with him right now.
“You’re kinda funny if you try.” [Name] says, earning an odd look from Jihoon at the backhanded comment. “Almost made me forget about my failed exam.”
“Ahhhh, don’t think about it.” Jihoon said, waving a hand. “The more you dwell on it, the more you spiral. You shouldn’t try to think too much about a bad grade unless you want to go insane.”
A sigh was her only response and Jihoon watched as [Name] nodded at his words, shaking her head in frustration. “It’s just—I studied so hard but my mind was wandering so much that whole time and now I’m just wondering if I should even ask to re-take it or not.”
“Wandering?” Jihoon asked.
“College life would be so much easier if my family didn’t hound me every other day.” Was [Name]’s only response, making Jihoon hum. “They were asking me when I was going to visit them again, which by the way, I honestly loathe since it always ends up with me babysitting my idiot siblings.”
She shrugs, seemingly defeated as she was clearly thinking about her stressful family life. Jihoon could only watch on, thinking to himself if this was actually the girl he had butted heads with months ago.
“She just seems like she’s keeping herself busy from something and she wasn’t like this last year. Of course, you wouldn’t know because you never spoke to her.”
He nearly kicked himself right then and there as Soonyoung’s words rang through his ears. Did it really take him this long to realize that was probably why she was always pooling over her work and school, barely getting any sleep to the point of mixing things up?
She was doing it to forget about her family problems. And he might not have been a big contributor to her stress, but he was a contributor nonetheless, remembering all the times [Name] did her best to not upset him. Guilt swamped him, making him question what he should do next.
“You should ask your professor for a re-take.” He says instead. [Name] offers him a confused look. “It doesn’t hurt to be a little honest with them, you know. I think if you tell them that you’re taking care of your brothers, they’ll let you do something to save your grade.”
“But that might get in the way of work—” [Name] motions to the computer.
“Don’t worry about it.” Jihoon says. “It can wait. I definitely can wait. Just focus on studying until you make up the grade.”
“Jihoon, are you sure?” [Name] asked softly, brows turned down in a frown.
Something in Jihoon’s stomach turned from the way she said his name but he ignored it as he nodded. “Yeah.”
“Thanks. For the talk, I mean, but obviously the time off working—” Jihoon snorted as he watched [Name] stumble over her words.
“It’s no problem.” He said, swiveling himself back to his seat. “Now let me take the rest of your work time before you leave me alone.”
Tumblr media
"You again?" Jihoon asked, narrowing his eyes as he watched [Name] enter the Love or Letter office. "I told you to take a break."
"I am on a break. I brought offerings." [Name] countered, waving the cups of coffees in her hands. Jihoon rolled his eyes.
"More like a bribe to see the plans for Love or Letter." He responds, holding up a hand when [Name] opened her mouth to counter him. "Evelyn told me you stopped by yesterday when I was away and offered her money if she says what I had planned for this week."
[Name] chewed at her lip as Jihoon stared her down sternly before she shook the cup of coffee again. "Bribe or not, it's still an offering. You look like you need it anyways."
She held the cup out to him, eyes bright as she waited for him to take it. Some part of Jihoon wanted to refuse, saying caffeine might affect him later when he works out. He didn't, though. He couldn't. Especially with the look she was giving him.
Wide eyed and hopeful that he'd accept her "offering". He didn't try to look at her as he closed his fingers around the cup, not sure if he can handle the look on [Name]'s face and a little embarrassed when his fingers brushed at her's as they handed the drink off to one another.
“Why are you here?” Jihoon asked, not willing to let up on the fact [Name] was supposed to be on her break.
She chewed at her lip again, a habit she had whenever she tried to think about an answer. And something Jihoon wasn’t sure if he should have noticed or not. He moved his eyes from her lips (though, he wasn’t sure why he struggled so hard) to her eyes, glad she wasn’t staring at him, but at the stack of confession letters on his—or her, actually—desk.
Carefully, Jihoon pushed the notes protectively to his side, shaking his head at her. Even with no words being exchanged, he could definitely tell [Name] wanted to say something.
Instead, a pause only came for a moment until [Name] offered a nervous smile. “It was to bribe Evelyn, but she’s clearly not here… But then you’re here so not really a bad thing, right?”
For some reason, he fought off the turning in his stomach at that notion. “To give me coffee?”
“Exactly.” [Name] said, smiling wider. Again, fighting off the urge of his stomach turning. “You always look like you’re about to fall into a grave; it’s getting worse since you took some of my load. I kinda feel guilty…”
“It’s not a problem.” Jihoon said dismissively, making [Name] scoff.
“You’re starting to look like me when I haven’t slept in 48 hours.” She counters in response. “You’re in your last year of college, too, so I know you barely sleep from school work anyways. Have you gone outside yet at all?”
“Yeah. To walk to work.”
[Name] rolled her eyes. “Okay, smartass, I mean what about not work related? The leaves are changing.”
“Should that mean something to me?” Jihoon asked.
“It means you’re going on a walk. With me.” [Name] said, matter of factly.
Jihoon only blinked up at her, not sure how to react. “A walk?”
“Mhm.”
“With you?”
“Yep.”
“When?”
[Name] walked around the table, ignoring the way Jihoon nearly shot out of his seat but nonetheless let her look at the time displayed on the computer. “Right now.”
Jihoon shook his head. “No way. I’m—”
“Busy?” [Name] guessed, shaking her head as she grabbed his coat from the chair and threw it at him. “Don’t care. You look dead and I feel bad since you’re doing my work at the moment. I’m taking you out.”
Jihoon felt his face heat up. Why does she have to word things so weirdly? He hadn’t much time to think about it, however, as he felt himself being pulled away from the room.
“Why?”
[Name] rolled her eyes. “So we can talk.”
“We spoke to each other on the phone yesterday. And you visit the studio when you’re not working on school.” Jihoon points out, which was all true.
Ever since he had offered to take over for [Name] while she was gone, a sort of camaraderie developed between them. They’d have conversations outside of work, though it was usually to gossip about Soonyoung’s sudden interest in a girl or [Name] telling him about Seungkwan and his rivalry with one of the other hosts for the radio station.
Not to mention, her little stints on trying to get back into the radio station to sneak in some information for weekly Love or Letter segments.
The first week, it was Jihoon who had caught her, dragging her out the building himself and telling her to study for her make-up exams (apparently, her professors loved a good sob story and it didn’t take much convincing to let her re-take them).
The second week, Soonyoung was with him when they caught sight of a blurry figure running into the Love or Letter room when no one else was there. This time, it was Soonyoung who dragged her out as [Name] and Jihoon argued on their way out the door.
It was currently the third week and Jihoon was more than surprised to see that she was the one trying to drag him out this time, though he might see why she did it; she seemed to have picked up on when someone wasn’t looking out of themselves.
“Well, we can talk more. Outside. In the fresh air.” [Name] comments and before he could think about anything else, he found himself on the side of the building, facing a population of trees.
“It’s great the radio station is near the forest, don’t you think?” [Name] said, eyes glancing up at the treeline. Jihoon only hummed, kicking at the leaves beneath their feet as they made their way toward a trail. They let themselves enjoy the environment around them, taking in the chirping birds and the cooling breeze for a while before trying to utter anything else.
Once they had reached a certain point to not see the building anymore, Jihoon finally spoke up. “You’re looking better.”
[Name] blinked at him. “You think so?” She asked, smiling.
She’s been doing that a lot. Jihoon thinks, noting how easily she offers her grins to him. Though, a lot of things have gradually changed in [Name] since she had gone on her break.
Clothes became cohesive, her demeanor was slowly becoming more like last year’s (though he wasn’t sure the spitfire attitude she harbored this year is going to leave, not that he’s complaining though—he’d rather have a co-producer who can speak up more).
She had done her hair up this time instead of keeping it down or tying it away from her face, letting more of her face become visible. Yeah, she definitely looks better. Healthier.
“That’s what you should look like all the time.” He says, regretting it immediately as soon as the words came out of his mouth. “I mean, that’s what you should look like if you actually balance your school and work life better.”
“Uh-huh.” [Name] said, though the smile never disappeared. She walked a little further ahead before saying, “I’d say you’re looking better, too, but I’d be lying. I wouldn’t have dragged you on a walk with me like this if I didn’t see how dead you were when I walked in.”
“Reading love confessions gets a little exhausting. Especially if they’re just about me.” Jihoon responds, shivering as he remembered a few not so safe for work confessions regarding him and his unwanted fangirls. “Seriously, who even has the courage to say those things to a bunch of strangers.”
“Welcome to my world.” [Name] comments blandly. “Gotta hand it to them, though; some of them are kinda creative.”
“Okay, ew.” Jihoon starts, watching [Name] laugh at his disgust. “You just say anything that comes to mind, huh?”
“As if you don’t.” [Name] responds back, elbowing his side gently. “I’m just a little less shameless about it. You, however, act like you don’t do the same thing I do. We are one in the same, Lee Jihoon, just accept it.”
Jihoon stared at the back of her head, wondering just how true that statement was. From what he’s gathered since his time working with the Love or Letter team, apparently they weren’t any different from one another when it came to working.
“It’s like nothing’s changed.” Eunwoo commented to him last week. “[Name] always sits back there and sometimes doesn’t even talk the whole time she’s with us. Similar to you.”
“Yeah, keep talking like that until you get fired.” Jian comments to him, hitting his shoulder with a folder. He offered an apologetic look to Jihoon. “He just means you both get caught up in your work a lot. Eunwoo is right, though; you do both seem like the same person when you work. It’s a wonder how you two haven’t become friends yet.”
Friends. An odd term for Jihoon whenever he thinks of that and [Name] next to it. Still, he does wonder…
“Are we friends?” He asked [Name], making her turn around. Her eyes became a little distant. Jihoon wondered if he crossed a line for a moment before he heard her hum in thought.
“I’d say a few months ago we weren’t.” [Name] admitted. “And now? I think so. We talked a lot since I went on break. We text each other a lot more now, too. Do you not?”
It was a brief flicker in her emotions, but Jihoon was sure he saw a flash of worry cross her features. He was silent for a second, looking at the fallen leaves on the ground as he kicked them out from the path. Finally he spoke. “Yeah, I think we are. If that’s how you see it.”
“I do.” [Name] said, Jihoon was a little touched at her immediate response. “Hopefully we grow closer.”
Something in Jihoon’s stomach turned again at the notion. He felt his throat dry up as he let the words echo in his head until something finally clicked in him about something. His eyes glanced over at [Name] and the way she kept her eyes trained on the changing leaves.
Well, shit.
His brain almost felt like it was exploding. Just when he asked her if they were friends too, such great timing. He did his best to ignore the nervousness crawling up him, trying to find the right words.
“Yeah.” Was all he could offer, ready to give a big sigh as he realized how lame that sounded.
[Name] didn’t seem to mind the one worded answer, giving a satisfied nod as they continued to walk the trail. “Let’s walk for another 10 minutes and then you can go ba—”
“Oh, [Name]? Jihoon?” A voice interrupts, making the two look up to see Soonyoung’s towering figure jogging up to them from the other side of the trail. The blonde was clearly out for an afternoon jog, his blonde hair covered in a cap and wearing warmer clothes. He gave an excited wave once he found himself standing in front of them. “What are you guys doing here?”
“Dragged him out for a walk.” [Name] explains plainly, watching Soonyoung cautiously. Clearly, she was well aware of his tendency to get excited.
Jihoon was the next one to speak up. “Why are you so excited?”
“Because you two are the last people I’d expect to see outside.” Soonyoung says. “Not to mention together. Alone. Not glaring at each other.”
“I’ll have you know we haven’t expressed wanting to strangle each other with our eyes in the past three weeks.” [Name] says, almost proud at the notion the two of them have had a normal interaction for so long.
Soonyoung let out a noise that could only be compared to a deflating balloon. “Sure.”
“Don’t believe us? Walk with us, then, and see.”
Just when Jihoon thought he could have some peace and quiet… Quietly, he muttered to himself, “Don’t say yes—”
“Okay! While we’re at it, let’s take a selfie…”

Working for a radio station had its perks. Due to receiving bigger funding for its popularity, the station let each segment team have their own office to work in, meaning distractions didn’t happen as often as possible.
[Name] was also allowed to work her own hours without question, meaning she could come in any time she wanted when they weren’t on air. Most times she spent her nights there, working on homework from classes and filing in any paperwork that was needed for Love or Letter.
She let out a groan as she finally pressed submit on her final comment on the discussion board, shutting off the music playing on her laptop before shuffling around to look for the papers she had to deliver to Soonyoung.
Rubbing out the exhaustion in her eyes before leaving her office, she maneuvered around the office floor as fast as she could to the host’s space, the idea of sleep already grasping at her.
[Name] let out a soft knock, waiting for Soonyoung’s tired “Come in” to signal her to open the door. She let out a laugh mixed with shock and amusement when she opened the door to see two stacks of papers on his desk. “Geez, Soonyoung… Did you wait for paperwork to pile up again?”
Soonyoung only glared at her, though she sensed no type of malice behind it, only an exhaustion she was unfortunately familiar with. His eyes shifted over at the pile in her hand. “Don’t tell me that’s more paperwork I need to look at.”
“Yeah…” [Name] said, waving the thick wad of paper in her hand as she placed it onto the corner of her desk. Something tells her Soonyoung wasn’t going to be able to look at it for a while. “I feel a little behind on work even though Jihoon covered for me.”
“So that means you make me have more paperwork?” Soonyoung cried out, offering an exaggerated cry.
[Name] rolled her eyes. “Oh, relax. You just have to sign it.”
Still, she watched as Soonyoung let out a tired groan, collapsing his head onto his desk in annoyance. “Why did I wait to push all my work? I could’ve done so much more fun stuff on a Friday night…”
“What, like go on a date with a certain someone?” [Name] jibed, covering her mouth as she remembered Jihoon swore her to secrecy about Soonyoung’s love life.
Picking his head up, Soonyoung glared at her. “Where did you hear that?”
“Um…” [Name] started, shifting to get ready to leave.
She was more than glad to not come near it, however, as it swung open so fast, it made the both of them jump. Their heads snapped over to see a panicked looking intern, eyes wild with adrenaline. A piece of paper crumpled in his hand, he shook it in front of the two as he tried to catch his breath.
“Jihoon… Papers… Important… Sign!”
Soonyoung set his pen down, standing up to help the new worker onto his couch while [Name] took the paper in his hand to see it had been an approval request form that was due tomorrow morning.
She handed it off to Soonyung once he stood back up, eye straining to read the paper. “Damn, so much for trying to finish as much paperwork as possible. Why wasn’t this given to him when he was still here?”
“No one saw it until now.” The intern explained. “We tried calling and messaging him, but he won’t respond.”
Soonyoung hummed, as if knowing what he was going to say. “Yeah that sounds like him. Once he’s out of the office he doesn’t respond to work calls unless we find him personally.”
“Yikes.” [Name] muttered. “Well, we kinda need this approval form turned in, though. Any chance you know where he is?”
“Either eating somewhere or at the gym. I dragged him to lunch with me so I’m assuming he’s probably at the gym.” Soonyoung explained. He walked away with the paper. “I’ll just find him and give it to him to sign.”
[Name] watched as he heaved himself onto his seat, clearly too tired to even kick the intern out of the office. He leaned his head onto his hand, picking up where he left off, hardly letting himself breath as his eyes scanned through the papers faster than the last time.
She sighed, offering her hand out. “It’s fine. I can find him before I go home and have him sign the paper. I’ll take it back with me to the station since I come in tomorrow.”
She cast a concerned stare at the intern on the couch, then back to Soonyoung who waved a hand her way, as if to say he’ll take care of him. [Name] was more than happy to offer a nod, not wanting to take care of whatever might come from dealing with him.
By the time [Name] was out of the building, Soonyoung had already texted her the location of the gym with the words “don’t scare him” written right after it. [Name] could only wonder what possessed him to send the last comment but didn’t think much of it as she found the campus gym illuminating in the dark.
She offered a polite greeting to one of the student workers, ignoring the way they stared at her, mouths agape. She could only assume it was because of the way she was dressed—a long coat and a tote bag that looked ready to burst any minute, nothing near gym clothes—as she walked around to look for the producer.
Surprisingly, the gym was close to silent, despite the large population of students in attendance, the music faintly playing in the background as the clinking of metal was the only disruption. Still, she did her best to keep her head low as she peeked around large contraptions that she would have assumed were death traps if it was outside.
She nearly gave up until she spotted a familiar black hat and red watch. [Name] was quick in her steps, careful to not run into anyone as she made her way to Jihoon, who had his head leaning down on his phone.
[Name] opened her mouth, ready to call his name out but choked up when she caught sight of him. Usually he wore the same clothes he was wearing now: black shirt with black pants, and black shoes with the same black hat that covered his head.
A clear indication he either came back from the gym or his intention was to go to the gym after he finished his tasks at the radio station. She was never close enough before but now she was seeing him and was he always built like some body builder?
[Name]’s mind could only immediately go to a certain celebrity known for having the same build as she fought off the thought. Composing herself, she walked over machines, offering polite “excuse me’s” to anyone she passed by and giving polite smiles to anyone who looked at her.
It was clear he couldn’t hear her, his earbuds tucked and volume probably louder than she could bear to think of as he kept his head ducked down on his phone. He only looked up when his eyes made contact with her shoes.
Jihoon blinked up at [Name], almost frozen in his spot. “What are you doing here?” He asked, making [Name] snicker.
Straight to the point, like always. “I wanted to work out with you.” She jokes as she fishes out for the papers, taking note of the fluttering in her stomach when she heard the small huff he let out in amusement. “One of your interns barged into Soonyoung’s office saying you needed to sign this. I was on my way out and I told them I’d look for you to sign them.”
"You could’ve just waited, you know.” Jihoon informed, taking the papers to sign anyways. [Name]’s eyes widened as she made eye contact with his arm, which looked like the size of her head from the way he leaned down on it to sign the paperwork. Hercules. He looked like Hercules.
As if sensing her, Jihoon glanced up from the rim of his hat, only spotting the swivel of [Name]’s head to a random spot at the gym.
Was she just…? Jihoon frowned for a moment, mouth opening slightly then closing it. How was someone supposed to ask their work enemy turned friend if they were checking him out? He wasn’t sure he needed to ask anything if his thinking was correct.
He leaned back down, signing the final page and coughing to catch [Name]’s attention. Jihoon offered [Name] an amused smile as he watched her turn back to him in cartoonish panic, seemingly doing her best to keep her eyes glued on the paper and not him.
“Thanks.” [Name] responds stiffly, stuffing the papers back into her bag before straightening up. She felt a sense of welcoming dread fall in her as she realized Jihoon had watched her haphazardly shoving papers into her bag.“Well, uh… Happy lifting?”
She gripped her bag, giving a bow so fast that she nearly fell over, waving Jihoon’s hands away when they reached out to steady her as she regained her balance. [Name] hadn’t made it far, only about three steps away when she felt a jolt shoot through her as Jihoon stopped her, hand reaching out to grab her wrist.
Jihoon felt something bubble in his stomach as [Name] looked over at him, eyes wide in confusion as he kept his hand on her wrist a little too long. He was quick to let go, doing his best to not focus on how doe eyed [Name] looked as she turned herself toward him.
“Are you heading home?” He asked, watching [Name] offer a slow nod. Jihoon didn’t need to hear anymore as he lifted himself off his seat. “I’ll walk you home.”
“You don’t have to—” [Name] started, only stopping when Jihoon interrupted her, taking off his hat and shaking out his messy hair. When was the last time she saw him not wearing a cap? Usually he keeps them on so his hair wouldn’t get in the way during work. She felt like she was seeing something scandalous, even if it was just his hair.
“I don’t feel comfortable knowing you’re walking home alone in the dark.” Jihoon said, essentially cutting off any argument she had ready. He logged 15 minutes into his watch, the other days indicating 60 or more, mocking him for not finishing his usual work out schedule. He was quick to exit, however, when [Name] shuffled herself a little closer to him as he made his way away from the machines. “I was already finishing my workout anyway. Just wait by the door while I get my stuff.”
He walked away to the locker rooms, ignoring the feeling of [Name]’s eyes on him. He packed quickly, only bothering to change into his sweatpants and shoving all his materials into his bag haphazardly before exiting.
[Name] had been standing by the door patiently, hands clasped in front of her as she rocked on the balls of her feet. Relief washed over Jihoon, glad that [Name] hadn't actually left like he initially thought she would.
Words didn't need to be spoken as they walked out the gym together, Jihoon opening the door for her to exit first, smiling slightly as he watched her face wrinkle at the biting wind. [Name] kept herself moving forward, leading the way to her home.
Jihoon listened intently to the crunch of the leaves underneath his feet while [Name] did her best to kick them away as they walked quietly along the sidewalk. A sense of nervousness bit at her, a little afraid why Jihoon was so quiet.
Their newfound friendship was built on a basis of quiet understanding since the day she dragged him to go on a walk with her. Neither of them had to speak to one another during meetings to know what the other was thinking now. A single glance at each other gave them the ample opportunity to understand if something was a yes or no.
It seemed quite the opposite right now, however. An unexplainable paranoia followed her as she eyed Jihoon, who looked as if he wanted to say something but wouldn’t.
Sick of the awkward silence, [Name] decided to speak up. “Have you seen Soonyoung’s post?”
Jihoon groaned, rolling his eyes. “Don’t even remind me…”
She let out a quiet snicker, watching his ears burn red in embarrassment, [Name] recalling the post.
hosh_soonie: unexpected guests on my run!!!
His arms had been spread out in the picture, head thrown at the clouds as if screaming into the sky. [Name] and Jihoon right behind him and watching in amused judgment. Neither had thought nothing of it, assuming all the focus would be on their eccentric friend.
A quick look at the comments had proven otherwise, however.

user087261846: who s the girk next to him?
[Name] had never brought it up, feeling a bit embarrassed herself as she read a few of the comments asking about her and hoping it had died down until someone had came up to her a few days ago in class.
“You know that guy you were standing next to in Hoshi’s picture?”
“Jihoon?”
“Yeah, do you know if he’s… Um, single?”
The people pleaser she was, [Name] had agreed to ask him next time she saw him, despite the sinking feeling in her stomach when she had agreed to pair them up together. She continued to ignore it as she spared a glance at him. “You seem like you’re getting popular again, though…”
Jihoon rolled his eyes. “Yeah, well I’m not too sure I like the attention.”
“Really?” She asked, elbowing his side gently. They had made it to the crosswalk that was leading to her apartment. A car slowly turned into the same street, making  Jihoon maneuver to her other side when they had crossed. “Some girls have been asking me if you’re single or not. Doesn’t that sound fun?”
“Sure, I guess.” Jihoon responds, ruffling his hair and looking lost in thought. “I’d rather have as much privacy as possible. I’d be more confident without a bunch of eyes on me.”
“Ah,” [Name] hums, a settled agreement coming between them. With such a popular segment like Love or Letter and dealing with the radio station as a whole, [Name] wouldn’t put it past Jihoon to want to have some semblance in his life. “Well, you’ve been doing great at work so if you’re feeling pressure there, don’t stress about it.”
“Well yeah.” Jihoon said, matter-of-factly, mouth gaping open for a moment as he let out an awkward cough. “It’d also be good to have more confidence so I could’ve asked you out sooner.”
Pause. [Name] felt like the wind was just knocked out of her as she registered his words, head whipping toward him. “Huh?”
“I, uh…” Jihoon faded off, eyes darting left and right as he stopped, facing [Name]. “Wanted to ask you out? Like on a date somewhere this weekend…” He analyzed her face, trying to understand her reaction as he continued to ramble on. “Or not? If you don’t see me that way. Or if its too awk—”
“Jihoon I’d like that.” [Name] suddenly scrambled out, unable to control herself when a smile settled on her face.
“Right.” Jihoon said, face burning as he looked at [Name], her face tinting a shade probably similar to his but he definitely didn’t look as cute. “Cool. I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
[Name] nodded, suddenly remembering they had been walking to her apartment. She turned to the stairs, ready to walk up as she said, “Yeah, tomorrow. And this weekend.”
Jihoon laughed, walking backwards as he watched [Name] make her way to her door. “Yeah, this weekend too.”
An urge suddenly seemed to stop her as she noticed him turn around, however, making [Name] go back down the stairs of her townhouse and jogged back up to him. “Jihoon, wait!”
“Yeah?” Jihoon asked, feeling [Name]’s hands reach for the side of his face and bring his lips to her’s. The suddenness of their closeness made Jihoon grab her waist to balance himself as he finally registered that they were kissing. It was short and [Name] was running out of breath from her jog, making her pull away too early for Jihoon’s liking.
“This weekend.” She breathes against his lips, Jihoon squeezing her waist as he feels her soft breath brush his cheek. He only nods, making [Name] pull away and run back to her apartment, scrambling to grab her items as she finally disappeared through her door, the last thing he commits to memory for the night the feeling of her smile against his as he walked home.

Secret Santa {Svt; Choose Your Ending}
Tumblr media
Plot: You receive surprising gifts from a secret Santa, each one containing what could only be seen as a confession.
Pairings: Choose Your Own Ending; Jeonghan; Joshua; Wonwoo; and/or Woozi x Gn!Reader
A/n: Because it's hard to write for so many people in one fic, some members are not mentioned. And for those who might have missed it, I did a poll a while back to figure out who to do the endings for. Also, I was rushing to finish this at like Midnight before it's release day (aka Christmas), so sorry if its a bit rushed in some places, or I missed some typos.
Warnings: Some angsty moments, mentions of unrequited love. A kiss in Jeonghan's and Wonwoo's endings.
Words: ~2.5-6.1k (depending on how many endings you read)
Tumblr media
You took a breath of anticipation as Seungkwan held out the hat for you. Reaching in, you let your hand scoop through the folded papers a few times before you grabbed one.
Pulling it out, you hid the paper behind your hand as you read it, 'Seungkwan'. Crumpling up the paper in your hand, you nodded at Seungkwan before he moved on to Jihoon beside you. You hoped your face was as blank, as you attempted to hide your reaction, giving nothing away.
After everyone received a name, Seungkwan briefly went over the whole idea of your Secret Santa exchange again.
You and some of the others were heading to a cabin for a winter holiday to celebrate Christmas before taking off time to spend with family.
Before heading to the cabin you had to get your person three gifts for the first three days of your holiday.
During those three days, you have to secretly leave one gift for them to find each day. You can leave them at their door, in their room or under the tree. On the fourth day, everyone would guess who their secret Santa is. If you guess correctly you win a prize and if anyone gets caught leaving a present they get punished. Those who were not guessed as being someone's Secret Santa would win a prize as well.
As everyone parted ways with an excited buzz between all of you, you excitedly began planning what to get Seunkgwan before you all left for your trip.
The few days leading up to your departure to the cabin came and went, and you managed to find gifts for Seungkwan fairly easily. Things you knew he would like, but would struggle with identifying who got them.
As soon as you all got to the cabin everyone began fighting over rooms. And as they argued, Jihoon caught your eye and shrugged his head towards the stairs. Understanding his silent meaning, the two of you made your escapes as you selected rooms and locked yourself in before anyone could try and take them from you.
Quickly, you took out Seungkwan's presents and hid two of them in the closet, while taking the first one and discreetly putting it in your pocket. It was small enough that you hoped you would be able to drop it off at his door without being noticed.
After taking some time to unpack your clothes, you began to head out, hoping to figure out what to have for lunch before you all went out to explore the surrounding property.
Stepping out of your room, you look down as you felt something hit your foot. A small long box was sitting in front of your door. Picking it up, you saw a label with your name on it. You smiled as you realized this person had the same idea as you.
If you wrote the name yourself, you might give yourself away. So, print out some labels with their name, and voila, a tag that can't be traced.
Heading back into your room, you excitedly tore the wrapping paper off and opened the box.
Inside was two necklaces, each one containing half of a heart that fit together perfectly.
"Couple necklaces?" You muttered softly as your heart hammered in your chest and confusion flooded your mind.
You knew some of the boys had couples rings or necklaces with each other, but if you were to have one with them, surely it would feel...different?
Seeing a small note in the bottom of the box, you took it out and opened it to see a short typed out note.
'I cant help but hope you would give me the other half.'
You felt breathless for a moment as you re-read the note a dozen times.
"Is this a confession?"
Your mind continuously found it's way to one person, no matter how many times you tried to shake the thought, it always came back to them. But you had no way of knowing it was them, and what if it wasn't? What if it was someone else?
Taking a few breaths, you placed the necklaces and note back in the box and put them in your suitcase. There was no real way to know the real meaning behind the necklaces, maybe the next present will reveal it for sure?
Trying to steady yourself, you didn't want to let your nerves get in the way of your day. And you didn't want to make yourself seem nervous to the others.
Leaving your room, you distracted yourself by trying to figure out which room Seungkwan was staying in. You hid your actions as an attempt to see if everyone was getting ready to go out. Managing to locate his room, you waited until he headed downstairs before dropping off the present and heading down after him.
As much as your group activities for the rest of the day did distract you, your thoughts remained solely on the necklaces and anonymous message as you lied in your bed that night begging sleep to take you.
The next morning, talk of everyone receiving their presents, only brought back your nervous thoughts. You watched everyone to see if they glanced at you, looked at you too long, or seemed too interested in your presents.
Even after you told them you received a necklace, no one seemed overly interested or suspicious.
Once again your thoughts were luckily distracted as you all spent your day out in the snow. Sledding with Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun and Mingyu. Snowman building with Jihoon, Wonwoo, Seungkwan and Dino. And then hot cocoa and good food.
By the time you had arrived back at the cabin later in the day, you had nearly forgotten about the necklaces completely.
After helping Mingyu unpack the cars, you headed inside, only to find Wonwoo teasing and laughing at Jun.
"What's going on?" You asked in curiosity.
Wonwoo smiled at you as he waved you over, acting as though he had a secret.
"I caught him leaving his present under the tree."
You gasped softly as you gently punched Jun's shoulder.
"Who was it for?"
Jun just avoided your eyes as Wonwoo leaned in closer, "Jeonghan."
You grinned as you shook your head, "So who chooses his punishment?"
"Woozi hyung." Jun said with a soft groan.
He put his hands together and pleaded with you, "Please just don't tell him who it was for I don't want Jeonghan finding out."
You and Wonwoo looked at each other as you both hummed, "I suppose." You said halfheartedly as Jun frowned.
Wonwoo grinned and teased him as he left to go find Jihoon. Turning to you he smiled softly, "Have you successfully dropped your present off today?"
Your eyes slightly widened at this but you tried to play it off, poorly, as Wonwoo chuckled, "Better do it soon."
"Shh." You shushed him before you ran up to your room, glancing back you saw him watching you for a moment and your heart skipped. Was he waiting for me to get to my room?
Letting out a soft sigh as you wondered if your Secret Santa was Wonwoo, you stepped into your room only to freeze as you saw a bag on your pillow.
Your stomach clenched with both excitement and anxiety as you walked over to the bag. Slowly reaching in, you felt something soft in your hands. Pulling it out, you smiled at the cute rabbit plushie that had been inside. Your eyes landed on a rolled up paper in its arms and your heart pounded hard in your chest.
Unrolling the paper, you wondered if it was more about this persons feelings, or maybe it held something more telling of who it was.
As you began reading he message, your stomach filled with anxious butterflies as you sat on the edge of your bed.
'I feel like I can only be confident in confessing my feelings in secret. Part of me hopes you never know its me, but a bigger part hopes you want it to be me. The fear of knowing your feelings has stopped me from confessing before. But I can't wait any longer. I know I have no control over how this ends. But I can hope it will be a happy ending.'
As you read the words over again, you found yourself hearing it in their voice. Closing your eyes you shook your head. It would only hurt so much more if it wasn't them. You could't put your hope in it being someone specific, you might only hurt yourself, and it wasn't fair to whoever it was leaving you these gifts.
Your chest was tight with anxiety as you feared things might get awkward with whoever had these feelings for you. Would you be able to get past it if you had no feelings for them? Would you be able to develop feelings for them?
You sat in silence as your mind ran wild with thoughts and worries before you suddenly remembered what you had come to your room for in the first place.
"Shit!"
You ran to get Seungkwan's second present before you realized you were still holding the note.
Rolling it back up, you placed it back in the bunnies arms and set it on your pillow. You gave it one last glance before retrieving Seungkwan's present and leaving.
After just barely managing to drop of Seungkwan's present in his room without getting caught, you made your way downstairs.
Spotting Jeonghan in the kitchen you felt your heart start to race a little a you took in a deep breath.
Spotting you he smiled brightly at you and your heart fluttered. 'What if it's him?'
Noticing he was getting out food for dinner, you looked out onto the patio to see Mingyu preparing to grill.
"Do you need help?" You asked and Jeonghan nodded.
"Sure, grab those ." He motioned his head at some packages of meat, so you walked over to retrieve them.
"Oh here, Y/n I'll help too!"
You turned at Joshua's voice as he appeared at your side, taking some of the packages. As his hands brushed yours, you felt your heart race again.
'It could be any of them couldn't it?'
As Joshua seemed unfazed by the contact, you tried to convince yourself you were over analyzing. You let out a soft sigh as you followed Jeonghan and Joshua outside. Your eyes wandered over all of them as your chest seemed to remain tight, an anxious feeling sat heavy on your shoulders for the rest of the night.
The next morning you woke up before everyone else, most likely because of your uneasy sleep. Dropping off Seungkwan's present at his door, you hid back in your room until you heard the other's begin to stir.
Today was your final full day at the cabin and you would be spending most of it at a nearby hot spring resort. Something your anxiety ridden body needed desperately.
You spent all night tossing and turning as you worried you would break someones heart, and have your own broken in return.
But as much as you feared this outcome, you had to admit, it felt nice knowing that one of them held those feelings for you. You loved all of them so much, that even knowing it might end sadly between one of you, you would be grateful for their feelings in the end. As much as you had accepted this resolve, your heart refused to stop hoping it was him.
The day itself was filled with relaxation and laughter, and you felt your stress begin to fade as you slowly accepted the fate yet to come.
Once you arrived back at the cabin after eating out. You took the time to shower before getting ready for bed. Your mind continued to wander to tomorrow, when it would be revealed who had feelings for you.
Exiting the bathroom, your eyes drifted to your bed, where you half-expected a new present to be sitting. Seeing nothing, you looked at the door as curiosity pulled you to check. Peaking out, you saw a wrapped box with an envelope sitting exactly where you had expected.
Looking around, but seeing no one, you let out a nervous breath and grabbed the present. Sitting down on your bed, you stared at it for a moment as you nervously bit your lip.
Finally opening the envelope, you pulled out and read the note with baited breath.
'I've tried to write this a dozen times but I cant find the right things to say. You'd think I would be better at writing down my feelings, but I'm too scared. Scared that you don't feel the same, scared that you will be disappointed that its me who feels this way. But I can't wait anymore. Tomorrow when you guess who your Secret Santa is, I know if will be who you want. Who you have feelings for. So all I can really do, is hope that tomorrow, it's my name that leaves your lips.'
Your eyes stung softly as you read the note, feeling the emotion from the person who wrote it. You knew how they felt. The fear and desperate hope that the person you love, loves you back. Guilt, worry and a hope of your own filled your whole being as you began to unwrap the final present.
Inside was a clear case, with a singular perfect preserved white rose. Beneath it was a small golden plaque with a date engraved on it.
As you stared at the date you furrowed your brow. "What does this mean?"
Suddenly, as if you had been electrocuted, you realized what the date meant. You remember where this flower came from.
You know who it is.
The next morning passed quickly as everyone ate breakfast chatting about the return home and discussion of everyone's presents. You remained fairly silent, watching everyone as you attempted to avoid looking too often at someone in particular.
Everyone seemed impatient to learn who their Secret Santa's were so it wasn't long before you were all gathered around the Christmas tree.
Mingyu, Jeonghan and Seungkwan all took their guesses. Mingyu guessed correctly that it was Dino who gifted him, while Jeonghan incorrectly guessed Seungkwan, when it was really Jihoon. You grinned as Seungkwan incorrectly guessed Mingyu as his Secret Santa, and you basked momentarily in your deception as he whined at you for guessing wrong.
When you realized it was now your turn to announce who you thought your secret Santa was, your heart began racing heavily as your chest grew tight.
Standing up as you faced everyone, you managed to keep your composure as your eyes scanned everyone briefly. They watched you in curiosity, only one of them truly understanding how intense this moment was. Only one of them knowing the importance and meaning behind the gifts your received.
Taking in a breath, you spoke confidently.
"I think my Secret Santa is-"

{Jeonghan's Ending}
Your eyes locked with his and you saw them light up, "Jeonghan."
There was a silent pause as the other's looked at him, none of them understanding the gravity of this moment.
Jeonghan nodded as a soft smile spread across his features.
Relief, excitement, and anxiety flowed through you all at once, it was almost overwhelming. The slowly growing grin on Jeonghan's face made your heart flutter, and chest grow warm.
The other's clapped as you guessed correctly, Seungkwan motioned for you to sit down, saying you'd get your prize for guessing correctly afterwards.
Dino rose to take his guess, and Jeonghan motioned over for you to now sit beside him on the couch where Dino had just been. Your's and Jeonghans eyes remained locked as you had a silent conversation before you sat down.
After taking a seat you glanced over at him to see him staring at you while trying to repress a smile. His eyes darted around your face as you saw how anxious he was.
You couldn't talk to him about the gifts or your own feelings until you were alone. But for now, you gently nudged him with your arm and gave him the slightest nod as you smiled. It was enough to tell him what he was desperate to know. His smile turned int a grin as he turned back to the others, though his mind was only on you.
Jeonghan silently willed the game to end, not caring that he made an incorrect guess about his own Secret Santa. He fidgeted with his hands nervously as he felt an anxious energy radiated through him. You were sitting right beside him, but he couldn't say anything, couldn't do anything, not yet. It was driving him crazy.
When the game finally ended, you followed Seungkwan, who gave you the choice of a variety of gift cards as your prize. All the while, he whined about not guessing you correctly as his Secret Santa.
You were patient, though your heart was beating unevenly in your chest. You could feel Jeonghan watching you from nearby as he waited for you.
Finally escaping Seungkwan as Mingyu came over to get his own prize. You approached Jeonghan, and before saying a single word, he grabbed your hand and dragged you up the stairs, not caring about the curious look Jun threw your way as you passed him.
Entering Jeonghan's room, he closed the door before pulling you into a hug. You were stunned at first, before you slowly wrapped your own arms around him.
"You guessed it was me because you wanted it to be right? Not just because I gave it away?"
You could hear the obvious anxiety in his tone and you let out a soft laugh as you nodded.
"Yes Jeonghan, I wanted it to be you. Even before you gave it away, I wanted it to be you."
He let out a sigh of relief as he tightened his grip on you momentarily. Pulling away, his eyes met yours and he let out a bashful chuckle. "I was so scared."
You chuckled, "Me too."
Overwhelmed, he pulled you back into a hug and you laughed. "I'm so happy, I don't know what to do." He admitted.
You laughed as you understood exactly what he meant.
"This is fine, this is perfect." You said softly as you hugged him back.
You remained like this for a few moments as your nerves settled. Jeonghan let out a sigh before he pulled away again. Placing his hands on either side of your face he stared at you for a moment, his eyes darted around your face.
"That day you gave me that flower it was at the solo video shoot. I was nervous about it and you came with me so I would feel better. Do you remember what you said?"
You thought for a moment before you shook your head, uncertain.
"You told me to keep it so I could remember that day and how well I did even though I was nervous."
You smiled as the memory came back and you nodded.
"But that's not the real reason I kept it. I kept it because that was the day I realized I had feelings for you."
Your eyes widened a bit as he said this an he gently caressed your cheek with his thumb.
You smiled, "So we fell for each other on the same day."
His own eyes widened as he tilted his head, "What?"
You nodded and let out a soft giggle, "That day when I was watching you, I realized that I had a crush on you. It felt so sudden, but it made so much sense."
He laughed as he spoke softly, his tone amazed, "The same day."
"I guess it was meant to be." You suggested with a grin.
"I guess it was."
He caressed your cheek gently again as your eyes locked. A knowing tension rose between you as his eyes darted to your lips.
Slowly, you both leaned in, eyes remaining locked before fluttering to a close when your lips connected. Your first kiss was slow and gentle, and it was perfect.

{Joshua's Ending}
You and Joshua were walking down the street together when you passed a vendor with flowers.
Unexpectedly, the vendor handed you a bouquet of white and pink flowers. You began to refuse, as you had no intention of buying flowers but they interrupted you with a smile.
"For you, for free. You two look like such a great couple, it makes my day better. I wish you happiness."
"Oh."
You and Joshua were both stunned by the vendors words, and you couldn't help the nervous butterflies that took over your stomach.
Joshua thanked the vendor a few times, insisting on paying but was refused. Finally walking off, you and Joshua shared a look in silence before breaking into laughter.
Jokingly, Joshua acted offended, "Why did you get the flower and not me?"
You laughed, "Because I'm prettier than you."
He gasped in offense and you giggled before pulling out a single white rose, one of the few in the bouquet.
Bowing dramatically you gave it to him and he repressed a laugh while taking it, bowing in return.
He smelled it and sighed dramatically, "Thank you."
Giggling at his response, you missed how he gazed at you with a adoring smile, his own stomach full of butterflies too.
"I think my secret Santa is, Joshua."
As your eyes met his, you saw him take in a shaky breath, as if he had forgotten to breath while watching you in anticipation.
A grin spread across his face as he nodded, acknowledging that you had guessed correctly. That it was him.
Your heart pounded with relief, excitement and nervous tension. The others clapped as you guessed correctly before Seungkwan was telling Jun it was his turn to guess.
Seeing Joshua tell Mingyu to scoot over, he ushered you to sit beside him. You smiled bashfully at him as he grinned at you, his eyes shining with joy and anxiety.
As you sat beside him, he caught your eye and you saw him question you wordlessly, unable to speak, but telling so much with just his eyes. You simply smiled and nodded, making him grin happily. You couldn't speak for now, but you knew it was enough until you could.
As you sat beside him, you felt him lean back a little as he stared at your profile, making you feel even more shy. Moving his arm, you felt him lay it on the couch behind you, you smiled softly to yourself as butterflies filled your stomach. You nervously felt your pocket, reminding yourself that you had the necklaces.
He continuously looked over at you throughout the rest of the Secret Santa guessing, and you occasionally caught his eye, causing the two of you to look away quickly with soft shy smiles.
When it was finally over, you saw that Joshua got stuck talking with Jeonghan, and not wanting to linger and make yourself appear suspicious or draw other's attention, you made your way to your room.
As you went up the staircase, you looked back, and saw Joshua watching you. When you made it into your room, you let out a deep sigh and tried to shake off your nerves. You knew Joshua saw you go into your room, and had a feeling he would be coming to find you as soon as he could.
You were right, because a few minutes later you heard knocking at your door. Opening it, you saw Joshua peak in and smile widely before quickly stepping into your room and shutting the door behind him.
There was a moment of silence between you as you looked at each other before you both laughed softly.
He shook his head, "I'm sorry I'm just nervous." He paused as he smiled at you, "I was really afraid you weren't going to say my name. That you didn't want it to be me."
You smiled softly as you shook your head, "I wouldn't want it to be anyone else."
He grinned as he stepped up to you, giggling softly out of nervous excitement. "God, I really like you Y/n, I feel like I can't explain it enough. But...please tell me you feel the same. I need to hear it."
"I really like you too Joshua. I have for a long time."
He grinned and let out a sigh of relief as he pulled you into a hug. Resting his head against your's he took the moment in as he gently rubbed his hand up and down your back as he held you tightly.
"Do you remember the day you gave me that flower?"
You hummed and nodded your head.
"That vendor who gave you the flowers mistook us as a couple. But I really wished we actually were. So that day I decided no matter what, we would end up together."
You grinned as you tightened your arms around him. "A lot of people have mistaken us for a couple, and every time I felt sad that we weren't."
"But we are now right?" He asked softly, hope evident in his voice.
"We are now." You agreed, your heart pounding heavily and nearly in sync with his.
As you pulled away, he looked down at you softly as he rose his brow. He watched as you reached into your pocket and pull out the couple's necklaces that he had gifted you.
He grinned as you unhooked one and placed it around his neck. Before you could put yours on, he took it from you and put it on for you.
Your eyes locked as you let out soft laughs before he gently caressed your cheek.
"Now it feel's official."
You fiddled with the necklace as he smiled softly at you. Leaning in, he pressed a kiss to your cheek, and then your forehead, before pulling you into another embrace.
Tumblr media
{Wonwoo's Ending}
"Wonwoo."
When his name left your lips, Wonwoo looked stunned as he stared at you. After a moment as everyone looked at him for confirmation, he nodded his head softly.
The whole time you had been sat down with everyone, you noticed him avoiding looking at you as his mood seemed dampened. You wondered if he was so convinced you would not say his name, that this moment was truly unexpected.
He stared at you in silence, uncertain of what to do. So you smiled softly and gave him a small nod, hoping he would know that you chose him because you wanted too. To your relief, he seemed to understand as his smile widened and his ears noticeably changed color.
Once you sat back down as Dino rose to guess his Secret Santa, you looked over to see Wonwoo staring down at his hands with a smile on his face. You smiled softly as you waited impatiently to speak with him.
Your impatience became more prevalent when you kept seeing Wonwoo look over at you from the corner of your eye. His gaze seemed to burn right through you, and your heart only beat more uneasy every time.
Seeing him glance over at you again, you looked over and caught his eye. There was a momentary shock, as if electricity jolted through you as you stared at each other. The tension was strong, and you knew only the two of you could feel it.
You smiled softly at him, and his own smile grew in response. The two of you broke eye contact with shy smiles as you tried to focus on what was going on as Jeonghan teased Jun about being caught hiding his present.
When the secret Santa guessing was over, Wonwoo began to approach you but was suddenly called by Seungkwan for something. Looking back at you he quickly stepped forward, his hand gently taking yours as he whispered into your ear.
"Meet me down by the pond."
You nodded softly as he went over to Seungkwan. Nervously you put on your jacket and left the house, unnoticed by the others.
As you waited by the pond, you thought back on the day you gave Wonwoo the white rose.
You and the others had gone on a picnic that summer, to celebrate the end of their recent tour. As Wonwoo laid on the blanket, eyes closed, basking in the sun, you clipped a white rose from nearby and made your way over to him.
Carefully removing the thorns, you gently tucked the rose behind his ear. A soft smile crossed his face as he opened his eye to peak at you. You looked away as if innocent as he gently reached up and felt the flower.
"What's this for?"
You giggled softly, "A gift for sleeping beauty."
He chuckled at your words knowing you were unaware just how much your actions affected him.
You had no idea he had kept the flower, or that it had meant anything to him enough to keep it.
Lost in the memory of that day, you hadn't heard Wonwoo approach. He stopped nearby as he admired you as you stared out at the frozen pond. His heart was pounding in his chest as he took a deep breath.
You said his name. That was all he wanted, and more than he thought he deserved. He would not mess this up, he couldn't, you were all he wanted for so long.
"Y/n."
You turned at the sound of your name, heart pounding as you saw Wonwoo standing behind you.
You smiled at him and he walked up to you. Reaching up he adjusted your hat so that it covered your ears.
"Are you cold?"
You shook your head and he nodded before taking another step closer. He stared at you intensely, making your nerves rise.
"You said my name."
You nodded, "I did."
"Was it because... you knew it was me, or...because you wanted it to be me?"
You smiled softly, "Both. I remembered the flower so I knew it was you, and I was so relieved that it was."
"Relieved?"
"You're the only one I have feelings for, I was afraid it was one of the other's first."
"You- have feelings for me." It wasn't so much a question, as a confirmation of something he really hoped was true.
You nodded as you tilted your head, "Did you really not know?"
He let out a soft chuckle, "I thought you might, but I managed to convince myself I was imagining it."
You laughed as you shook your head, "Well you weren't. I really do."
He smiled as he reached out and took your hand. "Did you not know I had feelings for you either?"
You hummed as you looked down at your hands. "I really wasn't sure. Sometimes I thought it felt like you did, but you are just really nice to me in general."
He chuckled, "I should have been more obvious then."
You shook your head, "It's okay, it doesn't matter now. Now I know."
He took another step closer as he seemed to study your face.
"Why did you keep the rose?"
He tilted his head in thought as he smiled. "Because it was that day I fully understood how much I liked you. So I kept it to remember that moment."
You grinned, "So that's how long you've liked me?"
He chuckled softy, "I think I liked you before that, I just didn't fully realize it until that moment."
As you smiled brightly up at him he couldn't resist reaching up and cupping your face. His thumb gently brushed across your bottom lip as he smiled softly.
"I get to keep you forever now right?"
You grinned as your heart fluttered, "Is that what you want?" He nodded as he smiled. "Then yes, because I want that too."
His smile widened at your response as he stepped closer, closing the distance between you as he pressed a soft kiss to your lips.
Tumblr media
{Woozi's Ending}
You felt his eyes on you as you walked to the center of the group. His hands were clasped together tightly as he waited impatiently for you to guess. He silently pleaded for you to say his name. If any other name left your lips, his heart would break.
"Jihoon."
He let out a soft breath of relief as he closed his eyes momentarily in relief. The other's saw it as a sigh of defeat, thinking he had wanted to fool you with his presents. None of them really knowing what was truly going on between you.
As he met your eyes, he nodded in confirmation, trying not to give any of his emotions away, wanting to keep them for just you when you were alone.
His eyes followed you as you sat back down. Looking over at him, your eyes locked and you smiled softly at him. It wasn't a smile of pity, or rejection, but of barely subdued happiness. He felt his chest tighten as he swallowed, repressing the urge to steal you away from the others at that moment.
When the guessing game was over, Jihoon stood just behind you as Seungkwan listed off the available gift cards as the prizes for guessing correctly.
You felt his presence right behind you as his chest nearly pressed against your back. You could feel the hairs on the back of your neck rising as you felt his eyes burning into your profile.
Grabbing a random gift card, too distracted to really think about it, you remained still, watching as Jihoon grabbed one as well, before he stepped away from you.
Turning, you immedietely met his eyes and he seemed to suddenly grow nervous. He glanced around, seeing the other's begin to get distracted as he motioned his head towards the stairs.
You followed him up the stairs and into his room, not knowing or really caring if anyone noticed.
When you were alone in his room, there was a silent tension that hung in the air before Jihoon finally spoke.
"Did the rose give it away?"
You smiled softly as you sat down on the edge of his bed, he slowly came over to sit beside you as you answered.
"It did. But in case you're worried, I wanted it to be you before that."
He smiled as he played with his hands, "Really?"
You nodded with a soft giggle. "I actually thought my crush was obvious."
He scratched his neck nervously as he smiled a bit wider. "I thought the same about my crush."
Your eyes widened a bit, "Really?"
He laughed and nodded, "See, it's not just me whose oblivious."
You chuckled, "I guess you're right."
A short moment of comfortable silence passed before you spoke again.
"I didn't think you'd actually keep any of those flowers you know."
Jihoon grinned as you both thought back to that day.
It was his birthday, and though he had received various flowers from different companies and brands, you still bought him a bouquet yourself.
Even with the other flowers, he still felt touched by yours. He told you it was the first time he had received flowers from someone close to him, rather than just from companies or for PR.
Because he was touched by your gift, you told him he had better keep them forever. And though it was meant as a joke, he took it as a promise.
"Keeping the whole bouquet would be difficult so I just kept the one rose." He sad softly with a smile, "It was enough to remind me of that day."
"You were really that touched that I bought you flowers?"
He chuckled, "It was more that it was a gift from you."
You smiled teasingly, "So you really liked me that much, huh?"
He chuckled,"What do you mean? I still like you that much. If not more."
You giggled as you looked down at your hands shyly. Your heart jolted when he reached over and slipped his hands into yours.
Meeting his eyes again he grinned softly at you, "I don't know what you do to me that makes me so bad with words. But, I really have never felt this way before, and I don't think I ever will again."
"I think you're pretty good with words."
His smile softened as he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to your cheek before resting his forehead against yours.
"I have so much I want to say to you but it might take some time for me to get it out right."
You grinned, "That's okay, I'll wait. Happily."

Pairing: Jihoon/Woozi x f!reader
Genre: smut 18+ MINORS DNI

a/n: I saw these gifs of Jihoon looking down at the camera and my filthy brain created this. If you enjoy this I’d super appreciate any likes or Reblogs 💕
“That’s it, on your knees for me like the good girl you are”
You let out a small whine, looking up at Jihoon as he tugs slightly at your hair, a smirk on his face. Your eyes dart down to his groin and you can’t help but moan when you see he’s clearly hard through his trousers.
You reach your hand out to undo his trouser button but Jihoon steps away, tutting at you as he says, “No touching with your hands, remember, Princess?”
Another whine escapes your throat and he smirks once more, stepping close again as he says, “Don’t worry, i’ll help you out baby.”
You watch him remove his trousers, palming his hard dick through his boxers and you can’t help but salivate, hands itching to touch him. You feel a tug at your hair again and you look up to see Jihoon biting his lip, a groan escaping his mouth. You feel yourself getting wetter from that, fidgeting a little and he says, “What do you want to do baby girl?”
Eyes falling back to his hand on his crotch, you groan out, “Fuck I - I want to suck your cock.”
“What’s the magic word baby?”
“Please, I need it.”
Jihoon lets go of your hair, pulling his boxers down and you watch as his hard cock springs up in front of you. The hand returns to your hair and Jihoon begins to pull you towards his cock, a groan coming from him when you wrap your lips around the head.
You smile around his cock, pleasure running through you at the thought of making him feel good, and you start to bob your head, taking in more of his length each time. Jihoon’s grip on your hair tightens as he groans out, “Fuck, princess, your mouth feels so good.”
Motivated by the praise, you take more of his length in your mouth, deep throating him despite it causing your eyes to water. Jihoon bucks his hips slightly and you have to pull away to catch your breath. Before Jihoon can say anything about you moving away though, you move back to his head, running your tongue around it.
“You’re such a good little slut on your knees for me, Princess. Do you like my cock?”
You nod whilst you continue to suck and lick at his head, hands itching to touch him again. He’d told you he wanted to see if you could make him cum with just your mouth though, and you weren’t one to back down from a challenge. You let your eyes drift up to him and the sight of him looking down at you, his fluffy hair in his eyes, makes you even more determined.
You pull away from his cock and move your mouth to his balls, mouthing and sucking at them. His hand grips at your shoulder as he chokes out, “Fuck, baby.”
You continue to mouth and suck at his balls for a bit, alternating between them, and when you can see Jihoon’s getting closer to cumming you pull away again. You put on your most innocent face as you look up at him and say, “Will you throat fuck me, daddy?”
Jihoon groans, both hands shooting out to grip your hair as he says, “Anything for you baby girl”
You open your mouth wide for him, keeping eye contact with him as he pulls you towards his cock, filling your mouth with his length. He starts to fuck your mouth gently at first, his eyes shutting as he moans out your name.
The sound has you wanting to make him cum hard and you whine around his cock, glad he gets the message when he grips your hair harder and begins to fuck your mouth at a rougher pace, swear words and moans escaping his lips as he does so.
Despite your eyes watering, you power on, sucking on his cock as he fucks your mouth roughly and you hear Jihoon groan out, “fuck baby i’m going to cum, should I pull out?”
You shake your head, sucking on his cock again and Jihoon moans loudly, hips starting to buck at a less controlled pace before you taste his load on your tongue. Jihoon’s hips continue to buck as he empties his load into your mouth and you swallow every last drop, relishing in the whimper that comes from Jihoon when you suck on his head one last time before he pulls out of your mouth.
You grin up at him, and Jihoon pulls you up to standing, pressing a hot kiss against your lips that has your knees almost buckling. You let your hands shoot up to his hair, finally allowed to touch him again.
He pulls away from kissing you, moving his lips to your neck, kissing and biting at it. You moan loudly and his hand wanders down to your ass reaching up under your skirt. He squeezes it before his hand continues to your crotch, his fingers pressing against your underwear and he groans again. He murmurs against your neck, “Fuck you’re so wet for me, Princess, should we see what my mouth can do for you?
You moan, nodding eagerly and Jihoon’s hands lift you up, wrapping your legs around his hips as he carries you to his bedroom. Continuing to kiss and bite at your neck as he does so. He lowers you onto the bed, hovering over you as his hand rubs your clit through your underwear. Through your moaning, you just about hear him say,
“I’m going to make you cum so many times with just my mouth and then I’m going to fuck you hard for being such a good girl. You’re my good girl.”

You sound like a broken record since this might be the nth time you've had this realization today. But your boyfriend is very handsome. It has to be his hair - obsidian strands that are long enough to be tied into a half-up ponytail. More than once you've asked Jihoon if you could braid his hair ever since he told you he wanted to grow it out.
Jihoon says yes every time.
He resembles a content cat whenever you start playing with his hair, with sighs coming from him as he lays on your lap. Taking advantage of him looking at his phone, you open the camera app as you get ready to take some photos of him.
"Jihooon," you elongate the vowels, and the only response you get is a hum as he continues looking at his phone. The small upturn of his lips is noticeable though and you love him even more for playing along with your whims. In the three years that you've been together, it's now rare for him to respond to his name, preferring the endearments more.
And who are you to complain about your boyfriend wanting affection?
"Love."
He laughs then, looking at you with a big grin that never fails to make your heart sing in joy. The perfect pictures are captured and he moves closer to you in the booth, his arm easily sliding around your waist.
"How'd the photos turn out?"
You softly brush your lips on his cheek and my gosh, his smile is so blinding when you pull back. "You look handsome as usual."
By 11:59 AM, you've already added the four new photos of him to the wallpaper shuffle of your phone. You say that he's your wallpaper so that you can wake up in a good mood. The pink tint on his cheeks overshadows his scoff as he quietly tells you to eat a lot.

seventeen members as their natal charts: woozi
sun in sagittarius, moon in aries
he loves a good challenge, his straightforward and self-assured personality can make him come off as arrogant but he's not like that; this man won't accept anything but the truth, he's fearless and very generous to people he loves, enjoys solitude just as much as he loves big crowds (but not being the center of attention there)
'looks like it's gonna be hard,' you mutter, staring at bunch of documents in front of you. 'do you think you can-'
'i know i can,' jihoon interrupts, not even bothering to look up.
you nod. jihoon's curt answer may have irritated other people, but not you. after working together for almost half a year, you realized that these kind of replies from him are simple statements of facts, not just arrogant atempts of showing off. still, you ask: 'need any help?'
jihoon blinks, finally looking up from his laptop. no one really sticks around with him, always uncomfortable with his silence or too straightforward manners, so your question surprises him. you, in general, surprise him in many ways and part of him desperately wants to reach out, because he may or may not have written dozen songs about your eyes and how your smile makes his day better. 'um,' he lets out eloquently. 'only if you're okay with helping.'
you nod and he breathes out in relief, shutting his laptop. work is easier with you, huge pile of documents gets sorted out much faster with two pair of hands and jihoon nods in satisfaction as you finish the last one. 'thank you,' he says sincerely. you smile and your smile makes him feel... things. makes him want to get upclose and personal with this smile, maybe even be the reason behind it. he's not dumb, he knows there might not be any other chance, so he barrels on: 'do you have plans for tonight?'
jihoon is certainly not the one to beat around the bush, but you're still surprised, looking up at him. 'you're asking because..?'
'i heard new thai place opened around here, thought it'd be good to try it out,' he meets your gaze, looking serious and confident. 'i'd like to treat you, if you're free.' and then, because if he started he has to go until the end, giving all in, he adds to clear things up: 'it's a date.'
silence that stretches makes him nervous, but when smile blossoms on your face and your cheeks color just a tiny bit, he thinks that risks always are worth taking in the end. smile stretches his own lips and he mirrors your excitement: 'i'll take that smile for a 'yes' then?'
he doesn't tell you that he heard you talking about really wanting to try out that place and nor does he tell you that he already went there and tried out bunch of dishes, just so he would know what to order when he'll finally get the courage to ask you out. you nod at him and something else twirls inside of his chest, warming it up. something akin to hope, that he thinks will turn out just great.
in relationship he can sometimes be insensitive and have a temper, but willl ultimately be the most protective partner ever! he longs for domesticity and is very much 'i don't see anyone but you' type when he's in love, he needs someone who's good at avoiding conflicts and can sometimes push him to change
'jihoon, that was too rude,' you say, closing the door with a loud sigh.
'he had his hands all over you,' jihoon huffs, shaking his coat off angrily. he doesn't get jealous easily and rarely has problems with other people, but his protective instincts flare up whenever someone gets too familiar with you. 'and you looked anxious, you know i can't just stay still at times like that.'
'i thought you didn't see,' you mumble quietly enough but of course jihoon catches it.
he grabs your hand, pulling you closer to him. 'i'm always looking at you,' he says seriously, not understanding how your heart flutters at those words. 'babe, i- i'm looking only at you. even when we are surrounded by other people, my eyes are always on you.'
and it's the truth. he keeps his eyes on you not in some creepy way, but just looking at you grounds him, he checks on you cause need to make sure you're fine is exactly what it is - a need. you smile at him, but still don't let go of the situation, telling him that he took everything too far. jihoon nods, knows that you're right, but he also knows that you won't ever nag him about it. this is the best thing about you, how you let something not critical go, knowing him too well. 'that was probably too rude, okay. you know i won't go and apologize to him, he did make you uncomfortable and i won't stand for that, ever.'
you sigh fondly, reaching out to caress his cheek softly. 'i know,' you say. 'my protector.' you didn't say it in a mocking way and jihoon knows it. he really is your protector in the sweetest and purest way; someone who you always wanted and never thought you'd have.
'i'll always protect you,' he says matter-or-factly with no traces of joke in his voice. but then his face changes as he shyly suggests: 'let's drink some tea?'
you almost laugh at this, but hold back. nodding, you lean in, smiling when he pecks your lips and both of your cheeks lovingly. never have you ever thought that jihoon will be like this, this protective and this caring at the same time. 'let's,' you agree easily.
you drop the conflict before it could grow big, because it's not worth it. nothing is really worth it at the face of jihoon's wide smile as he understands that the subject is dropped and that you're not angry at him anymore. sometimes words are not needed and silent understanding that passes between you two is more important. he hugs you tight and that's all that's needed as you both settle into comfortable domesticity, the one you both protect fiercely and put above everything else.
a/n: a bit surprising for jihoon i think, but i love his chart so much!!

the one with jihoon and the gold medal
Tumblr media
pairing: lee jihoon x gn!reader type: drabble | genre: fluff | rating: pg15 | wc: 800 au: best friends to ? summary: jihoon is the featherweight champion of pining. he’s also pretty adept at getting you home from the bar at the end of the night. cw: reader is drunk, jihoon is down bad, and the ending is up for debate. a/n: i wrote this in jihoon’s pov, and i left it very ambiguous about what reader’s feelings are. i’d love to hear your thots 👀 🔞 MINORS WHO INTERACT WITH ME AND/OR MY CONTENT WILL BE BLOCKED, WHETHER OR NOT THE CONTENT IS NSFW. I’M AN ADULT WRITING EXCLUSIVELY FOR OTHER ADULTS.
There are two things that Lee Jihoon knows for sure he can’t do.
He can’t drive, which has no meaningful impact on his day-to-day life. The world doesn’t start or stop turning because he doesn’t have his license, despite what his friends seem to think. The fact that he can’t drink would — theoretically — be a little less shitty if he could drive, though.
Because that’s not the case, he’s always the only sober person on any given night out. Worse, he can’t even get his shitfaced friends home without attempting to wrangle them on public transit. That, for the record, is a nightmare far above his fucking pay grade.
So, more often than not, Jihoon doesn’t stick around for the drinks that always follow dinner. He shows up, eats his weight in white rice, and when there’s nothing left on the table but a mess of empty dishes, he bails. He’s got a routine down, executes it flawlessly every time.
Almost every time.
Tonight may have slipped away from him, but it’s not his fault — it’s yours. If you hadn’t squeezed his forearm while laughing at one of his jokes, Jihoon would be home free by now. But you did, and he’s not, and he’s somehow finding it difficult to categorize this as a failure.
No, the way you get the tiniest bit more affectionate when you’re tipsy feels a hell of a lot like success. Just for a little while, Jihoon can let you tuck yourself under his arm; and he can pretend he’s not trapped in the silent hell that is yearning — and oh, god, does he yearn. You, however, come with a price tag.
For the astronomical cost of the most meaningful friendship he has, he could clue you in on the pining. Check the temperature, see if your heart sounds like a cartoonish, old-timey car horn whenever you see him. That’s a bigger risk than Jihoon’s willing to take, and even if it wasn’t, he wouldn’t know where the fuck to start.
“I ah-wooga you”?
Absolutely fucking not.
Jihoon doesn’t realize he’s gazing at you until you toss a crinkled-up chopstick wrapper at him. It bounces off of his unsuspecting chin, drops down into his lap. He blinks while he buffers, then he stares at you with an incredulousness that’s entirely manufactured, mouth hanging open. More than anything, he’s impressed by your aim in this state.
“Since when can you astral project, Jihoonie?” You ask with a laugh that’s likely a lot louder than you realize.
He’s impassive on the outside, but on the inside, he’s a puddle of goo. When you’re buzzed, he’s not oppa anymore — just Jihoonie — and it makes his knees wobble. To distract himself, Jihoon picks up the ball of paper and fires it back at you with shocking precision. Your eyes cross, almost in slow motion, as you watch it hit the tip of your nose.
Bullseye.
Pretending to be chill about any of this, Jihoon shrugs and says, “None of your business,” just to see if you’ll pout — and you do, you do, you do. He’s doomed, he realizes with a smile he can’t fight off. Oh, well.
You pick up your drink and down what little’s left of it before gesturing his way. The ice cubes clink against the glass. Uninhibited, he thinks, just like you. Donning puppy-dog eyes, you announce, “I think I need to go home now.”
There’s no question included because there’s no reality in which you’d ever have to ask. Jihoon is on his feet before you can punctuate that statement, hand held out to haul you up to yours. You squeak — an acceptance of his offer, he dares to presume — and then you take his hand.
You don’t let go once you stand up, which he attributes to your unsteadiness. Still, it doesn’t make him any less grateful for the way your fingers take up residency in the space between his.
Even if it’s all he can be, he’ll be your anchor. If it means physically steering you towards the train station and hovering nearby when you attempt to befriend every living being — human or otherwise — that you encounter along the way, so be it. If he winds up loving you harder with every staggered step you take in the wrong direction, well… What else is new?
“Ready?” He asks with a tilt of his head towards the bar’s front door.
“Set, go!” You shout, and you sure as shit do.
At a rate of speed he could’ve never predicted, no less.
It’s a mad dash to the exit — one he wasn’t ready for, and one that nearly makes him fall over — but he keeps pace with you, like always. His foot crosses the threshold first, as a matter of fact, so he turns his head to brag to you about it. You’re already looking at him, grin beaming like a fucking spotlight, and he doesn’t need to state the obvious.
Jihoon knows he’s the winner.

under the neon lights
tags/warnings: smut, pwp, boyfriend! jihoon, switch! jihoon & reader, at the universe factory (cause why not), dick sucking, some dirty talk, pet names (honey, baby, etc.), some fluff at the beginning, based off that one welive (as seen in the photos cause he looked to fucking good 😩)
word count: 1.4k
notes: happy birthday to the man who has been constantly and consistently wrecking my bias list for almost 5 years 🤍 words can’t express how much i love jihoon, he works so hard and deserves so much - i hope he gets to relax a little and receives so much love and the best head on his special day 🥹 but in all seriousness, i really do love and admire him - happy birthday jihoon!! without further ado, enjoy besties! thank you to @wongyuseokie for helping me come up with the title!
11:40 p.m.
in 20 minutes it would be the 22nd, and you would get to celebrate the love of your life’s birthday. you were very excited, but you were hoping jihoon would for once - decide to take a night out of his studio and relax for a bit. but knowing him, he would be at the universe factory if he got the chance, and it would be hard to persuade him otherwise.
so that’s where you are currently, sitting in your boyfriend’s lap while he sits in his chair, scrolling and clicking through different audio files on his desktop, compiling items together. your hands softly stroke the ends of his hair, not sure if the humming coming out of his mouth was from your movements or if he was thinking to himself. your eyes momentarily flit to the digital clock on lower right side of the screen, the time getting close to 11:45 pm. you tap jihoon’s shoulder twice to get his attention.
“hmmm?” he responds, still looking at his desktop.
“hoon, why don’t you shut everything down for right now? there’s only a few minutes left until your birthday, and i had a few ideas in mind..” you begin to trail off as you wrap your hand around his bicep, legs tightening together as you feel how strong he is.
jihoon sighs. he appreciates that you were trying to make more out of his birthday, but he always saw it as just another day. of course he appreciated all the love he received, but he didn’t want things to become such a big fuss. “babe, you know you don’t have to make any extra effort.. just this is enough - me, you, my music, and this ambiance,” he gestures to the turquoise colored lights filling the dark studio.
“i know, i know, but i just wanna make sure i celebrate you in the best way i can. that’s how much you mean to me baby,” you kiss jihoon’s cheek and he can’t help the blush that makes its way on his face. he intertwines your hands with his as he kisses it, your body moving closer toward his touch.
“you’re the best, you know that don’t you?” he asks, looking into your eyes. you nod your head as you shrink into his body, loving the way he envelops around you. there are a few moments of silence but after, jihoon’s mind quickly remembers what you said earlier.
“what did you mean by ideas?”
“hm? what ideas?” you question a little confused.
“remember, you said there were only a few minutes left until my birthday and you said you had a few ideas in mind. those ideas.”
you quickly bite your lip, getting excited at what you had practically daydreamed even before you got to the universe factory. for the longest, you wanted to give your boyfriend the messiest head in his workplace, especially attracted to the thought that no one would walk in. it would just be you two giving him the pleasure he so rightfully deserved.
“well, one idea involves both of us on the couch,” you hinted, pointing in the direction of the soft large leather piece. you avoid eye contact with jihoon as you play with the hem of his black shirt. “we could see what happens from there, but that’s the first step.”
jihoon still couldn’t tell what you were planning, but he couldn’t deny the sudden urge in his body to get up and move. he pats your thigh, motioning with his hand for you to stand up. after you stand, he walks over to the couch and you follow behind him - but when jihoon takes a seat, you promptly kneel on the floor, making sure your body was front and center in relation to your boyfriend.
the second your knees hit the floor, that’s when things finally click for jihoon. “that’s what she meant..” he thinks to himself, but his face doesn’t do a good job of hiding his discovery, in which you quickly take notice.
“guess you figured it out now, huh?” you tease, slowly rubbing your hands across his thighs. “i’ve been thinking about this for a while now.. going down on you in your workplace,” you lean your head against his thigh, innocent eyes staring into his intrigued gaze.
jihoon inhales sharply as your fingers delicately dance across the lower half of his body, dangerously approaching his crotch. you start to palm him through his pants, his breathing becoming shuddered as he grows harder with every touch and graze.
your hands finally reach the waistline of his pants, wanting to finally get what you’ve been waiting for. “can i take these off, honey?” you muse sweetly, your still innocent eyes making jihoon crave for more. he nods in response, “go ahead,” a breathless whisper leaving his lips.
with his help, you pull jihoon’s pants and boxers down to his ankles, revealing his growing, slightly leaning dick, with a perfect red tip to match. “mmm, so big and all for me to taste,” you lick your lips as you inhale his scent, moaning even more at how attractive your lover is.
your lips finally make their way down to his tip, giving jihoon a little kitten lick. a smile makes its way on your face as he groans out, his hands flying to reach the nape of your neck. you give him some more kitten licks, each one causing more beads of cum to spill out, jihoon’s breathing speeding up a bit.
“shit..” he breathes out, his eyes closed for a second and his head tilts back. using the opportunity, you take more of jihoon in your mouth, his full tip and then some now at the mercy of your tongue. the muscle begins to roam across his dick, your head starting to bob at the new intensity you were getting him off to.
you brace your hand on his thigh yet again, this time hollowing your cheeks out to take even more of him in. your nose pushes in closer as you can feel his tip finally near the back of your throat. jihoon doesn’t even try to lower how loud his moans were now, too engulfed in your presence to care about anyone or anything else.
“you naughty baby girl.. getting me off like the needy little thing you are,” his chuckle turns into another groan as you start to gag slightly on his dick. “taking me all the way to back of your throat.. mmm, such a good girl..”
if you weren’t wearing panties, you’re pretty sure you would’ve been dripping onto the floor by now. this was probably the best head you’ve given him and he had the dirty talk to match the experience.
then, jihoon starts to guide your pacing, causing you to go faster and to moan around him consistently. the hand still on the nape of your neck slightly grips at your skin, not hard but not soft either.
jihoon taps at your cheek a few moments later, bringing your attention to him as he begins to gasp for air, climax inching towards becoming reality.
“i’m- i’m gonna c-cum, baby.. think you can swallow it all for me?” you nod back, now intensely taking him in and out of your mouth, jihoon’s dick covered in your essence, your throat feeling the tiniest hint of sore - but did you really care? at this point you just wanted to give him the messiest head you possibly could.
it’s then that jihoon releases a high pitched moan and seconds later, cum is spilling into your throat, and you don’t hesitate to swallow every last drop. when he finishes emptying his load, your lick your lips teasingly and jihoon watches as your tongue roams the top half of your lips, lingering on thought of what i would be like to intertwine your tongues together so he could taste him on your mouth.
“my jihoonie tastes so good,” you giggle as you begin to stand up, reading his mind as you insert a legs in between his, kissing him square on his lips. jihoon holds your jaw as he deepens the kiss, both of you melting into each other. when you separate, you take a look again at the clock.
12:05 a.m.
“happy birthday, my love,” you whisper as you pull him in for another kiss, jihoon gently pushing you down onto the couch as he undoes your shorts.
“thank you baby, and i guess my gifts are just gonna keep coming over and over tonight,” he smirks. “can’t wait for you to come inside me.”

Jeonghan may not be one of the entertainers or comedians of the group, but he has the uncanny ability to always make you laugh. It's always unexpected too. He'll notice you getting riled up while ranting about something that happened that day. He'll just say any random thing in a completely normal tone that has you laughing before you even realize that you are. He can do it anytime no matter how upset you are about something. When you're already happy, he'll have you laughing so hard that your stomach hurts. Jeonghan is able to read you so well that he always knows exactly what to say to turn your sour frown into a bright smile.
JOSHUA HONG
Tumblr media
Joshua is such a little heart eyes person. He's just ~always~ staring at you. You have a barrage of photos from your friends that are just of you talking/eating/playing and Joshua sitting next to you just looking at you all full of love. You catch him doing it all the time. Joshua genuinely just enjoys watching you during every moment of your lives together. He doesn't want to miss out on a single thing you do. He loves seeing you in all your different styles, doing all different things, and picking up on more and more of your little quirks. Joshua just loves looking at you.
WEN JUNHUI
Tumblr media
I've always said that Jun is a wildcard boyfriend and I stand by it. You never know which boyfriend you're going to get when you come home. Maybe he's got all kinds of adventures planned for the evening. Maybe he just wants to stay in. Maybe he's feeling needy. Maybe he wants to do something to spoil you. You never know what Jun will be up to, but you know it will be great. Jun just wants to make you happy no matter what you will be up to. So even if things are all over the place, he'll always put the most effort into it. If he plans an evening out, it'll be perfect. He picks the best places and makes sure to pack a bag of supplies to make the adventure as comfortable as possible. If you have a night in, he's cooking dinner, picking up snacks for a movie, and making a nest of blankets for you two to rest in. Jun always does the most to put a smile on your face.
KWON SOONYOUNG
Tumblr media
Soonyoung is the type of boyfriend that always wants to be touching you. You'll be holding hands whenever you're out and about. He always greets you with a hug. When you're cooking in the kitchen, he'll stop by and rest a hand on your lower back while he asks how you're doing. He likes playing with your hair. He jumps at the chance to apply your lotion on for you. Soonyoung just loves knowing that you're there and that you're his partner. He takes great comfort in any and all casual touches between the two of you.
JEON WONWOO
Tumblr media
Wonwoo is a no pressure type of boyfriend. He loves just existing with you. He is the exact type of person you can enjoy comfortable silence with. In fact, some of his favorite moments with you are when the two of you are simply enjoying time together while each of you are doing your own thing. He loves listening to the natural sounds of the world while you're both reading, or working, or scrolling on your phones, or just doing any hobby. Wonwoo revels in having someone in his life that he doesn't feel pressured to entertain or always be talking to. He loves that both of you are happy simply being with each other.
LEE JIHOON
Tumblr media
Woozi comes to you first for everything. You are his confidant, his muse, his guide. He comes to you for your advice for every single step of writing a song. Your opinion is so important to him and he holds your advice in such high regard. If you're his partner then you're going to be his partner. He wants to work with you in all aspects of life, and showing you a bit of his world is important to him. He's equally supportive of anything you want to show him/get his advice on. He also secretly really wants to make you proud and impress you with his work. You will always hear Jihoon's songs before anyone else.
LEE SEOKMIN
Tumblr media
Seokie is just such a happy boyfriend. He cares about you so much. He loves getting to do traditional boyfriend things. He gets elated to do things like buy you flowers. He'll spend twenty full minutes picking out each and every flower for a boquet with absolute care. The workers at the flower shop down the street from your apartment know Seokmin by name and fawn over him caring so much about every flower he gets you. Everything you receive from Seokmin has his own personal touch of love to it.
KIM MINGYU
Tumblr media
This guy includes you in all his interests and hobbies. If he gets super into fashion, then he's going to take you shopping and try to style you. If he gets into cooking, he'll pick recipes for the two of you to make together. He wants to try knitting? He bought needles for you too. New show? You're watching it together. New game? He's teaching you the controls. He wants you to be a part of his whole life, from the big picture to the little things. Mingyu wants you included in all of it.
XU MYUNGHO
Tumblr media
Myungho knows everything about you intimately. When you mention you like something, he wants to know why, for how long, what's your favorite part of it. Nothing stays at surface level with Myungho. He knows your favorite everything and exactly why it's your favorite and every aspect of your life that is has defined. He wants to know your whole person. He's always curious about who you are and what else he can learn about you. No information about you is every boring to him, it's you. He wants to know it all.
BOO SEUNGKWAN
Tumblr media
Kwannie loves bragging about you. Introduces you loudly and happily as his partner to anyone he can. He is just as loud when it comes to supporting all of your endeavors. He'll show off pics of your outfit to anyone who will listen. If you get him a gift, he'll walk around with it until someone asks about it and he gets to tell them that you got it for him. Seungkwan is always telling stories about you to all his friends. He loves you so much and he's so proud of you and everything you do and everyone needs to know that.
VERNON CHWE
Tumblr media
Vernon loves texting you throughout the day. Every little thing that happens in his day is sent your way in a text message. Work keeps both of you pretty busy during the week, so he tries to keep y'all connected by sharing his day with you. He also does little check in texts. He'll ask how your day is going, if you've eaten yet, if your presentation went well. He makes memes based off the tea you shared with him about your coworkers to make you laugh. Vernon just wants you to know that he's thinking of you always.
LEE CHAN
Tumblr media
Chan considers you his escape. He enjoys alone time with you so much because he feels like he can actually relax. Chan trusts you completely. Chan is generally slow to trust so it's a big honor for him to believe in you so completely. Like Jihoon, he wants you to be proud of him. He always does his best in everything he accomplishes in his day so he can tell you about it. Chan wants to be the best man he can be for you. He wants you to feel like your partner can provide for you and protect you. He wants you to be confident in who you chose to date, and he does everything he can to show you that you made the right decision with him.

GOLDEN —⊹ woozi drabble
Tumblr media
— request
“you look breathtaking.”
you wiggled in your golden silk dress, skimming your fingers on the fabric and picking at places that didn’t sit exactly how you wanted it to. he didn’t even try to pry your hands away because he knew you were only trying to look good for him.
his arms gather around you in a tight back hug and he suddenly starts attacking you with pillowy kisses on your cheeks and neck. woozi’s dressed in a black suit and a golden tie, perfectly complimenting each other. you giggle before turning into his body,
“woozi, you’ll mess up my makeup.”
he continues to attack your face, “you don’t need it anyways.”
you laugh and glance in the mirror again, smiling at your perfect outfits and perfect boyfriend. he grasps at your waist and turns your head with one hand, a cheesy smile plastered on his face.
“stop looking in the mirror, it doesn’t do you justice. you look golden. literally.”
a warmth blooms in your heart, mimicking the feeling of heart burn before his hands trail to your hands, kissing them as softly as he did your face moments ago.
“are you ready to go, my beautiful girl?”
you smile and plant a kiss on his own lips, nodding as he leads you out of the bedroom and out the house. out to the car and to the party. he can barely pay attention to the engaged couple and his tipsy friends when you’re there, glowing as golden as you could get.

Songs That Remind Me Of You: Prologue
Tumblr media
A series in which Jihoon realizes that he loves you a little too late.
pairings: fem!reader x jihoon, hints at fem!reader x seungcheol
word count: 2.1k
genre: angst? unrequited love, high school au to eventual college au, slice of life
chpt summary: the origins of your friendship with jihoon and the origin of his feelings for you
track 0 - Falling For U by Peachy! ft. mxmtoon
♫♪♩♫♪♩
I was hangin' with you and then I realized
I didn't think it was true, I was surprised
When I found out I've fallen for you
♫♪♩♫♪♩
I didn't wanna believe my feelings for you
I didn't wanna believe that I could lose you
If I told you just how I felt
When Jihoon first met you, he thought you were annoying. You were paired together in a chemistry class your sophomore year of high school. Working on this lab with you was torture, you’d always skip a step of the instructions or left a solution over a buntsen burner for too long. More often than not, Jihoon found himself fixing your mistakes.
He complained to his friends about how much of a clutz you were and how he hated the teacher for pairing together. It was only a day later that you changed his mind. You were nearly late for class, rushing into your seat next to his at the last second. You slid a stack of papers stapled together across the table in his direction and his eyes nearly bulged out of his head when he realized that it was your lab report.
“We were supposed to work on this together over the weekend. How’d you manage to write 10 pages on your own in one night?” He quickly scans multiple pages, all of your work was spot on.
You pick at your nails, avoiding eye contact, “I thought I’d make up for messing up the experiment so many times. Didn’t want you to feel like you were doing all the work.”
After that, the chem teacher kept pairing the two of you together for labs, saying something about the two of you working well together. Jihoon helped you get better at staying on task and getting an experiment done while you helped him write a better conclusion to a lab.
With time, Jihoon realized that he actually liked being around you. You never overstepped any boundaries and were hardworking. You were kind but not a push-over. And most importantly, you were the most non judgemental person he had ever met in his life.
Whenever he would tell you about the latest anime episode he had watched, you asked him questions about the lore of the show. If he complained about the band teacher wanting to give his clarinet solo to someone else, you would get annoyed too. You really were the most loyal of his friends.
During junior year, the two of you settled in the same friend group after being put in nearly all the same classes. It wasn’t a big group of friends, there were five of you: Soonyoung (a trumpet player Jihoon met in band), Sana (your friend from middle school), Changkyun (a boy that coincidentally sat near the four of you in your calculus class), Jihoon and you.
The five of you remained a friend group during the rest of your time in high school. You all went to homecoming together, squished into Changkyun’s car. Sana, Changkyun, and you would go to every football game your team had. Not to support the football team, but to watch Jihoon and Soonyoung march during halftime. You would all go see Sana’s dance recitals. Your basement became the go-to location for any get together, any movie night or half-assed birthday parties. Once, when your parents left the state for a wedding, the five of you got drunk together for the first time, drinking a jungle juice made by Changkyuns older brother.
The point was, you were spending a lot of time with each other. And it was one of those nights, in the middle of your hangouts, that he realized he liked you a little bit more than just platonically. Or, well, your friends realized it for him.
You stood up from your seat on the couch and said that you’d be back, your parents needed help with bringing in groceries from the car. They offered to pause the movie and you said you had already seen the movie before so it didn’t matter. They paused it anyway. You disappeared after going up the stairwell.
“What are we gonna do for her birthday?” Sana asked. Your birthday was three weeks from then. Hm, what should Jihoon get you? Last year he hadn’t known you well enough to get you a present but he definitely should this year. And it had to be a good gift, something you would actually use, something that every time you looked at it, you’d think of him.
Soonyoung nudged him, “What are you getting her?”
“I don’t really know yet.”
“Really?” Changkyun asked. “I thought you’d already have everything planned.”
Jihoon’s confused, “Why would I already have everything planned?”
He’s taking a sip of his coke when Changkyun answers, “Well, you have a crush on her.”
Instantly, Jihoon is launched into a coughing fit, having nearly choked on his drink. He clumsily places his drink down and doubles over coughing. Soonyoung and Changkyun are falling over too, but from laughing at him.
“Come on, dude.” Sana chuckles and pats him on the back to try to help him with his coughing. “You’re so obvious about it, you didn’t really think we wouldn’t notice, did you.”
Once the burning in his throat has died down, Jihoon takes another sip of his drink, wanting to avoid talking to his teasing friends.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He mumbles.
Soonyoung snorts, “You mean you don’t look for her from the stands during every game? Or give her heart eyes when you’re in the same room as her? Or turn red when she calls you Jihoonie?”
The three of them are laughing at him again and Jihoon glances at the stairs, making sure you’re not hearing any of this conversation.
“I'm not even joking, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
There's a beat of silence as your friends stare at Jihoon, trying to gauge how honest he’s being. A look of disbelief comes over their faces.
“You mean,” Sana softly says, “We figured out you like her before you did?”
Jihoon can feel his ears burning, and he rubs them self consciously. He can’t even bring himself to look at them. He’s thinking about you and how your smile makes him feel lighter and how whenever he makes a joke he’ll make sure it made you laugh. It definitely would make sense if Jihoon had a crush on you.
Suddenly, you're flying down the stairs. You fall over onto the couch between Sana and Jihoon, giggling to yourself like a maniac. You sit up turning to Sana, grabbing onto her shoulders and giving her a shake, “You’ll never believe what just happened!”
“What is it, woman?” Sana exclaims, trying to stop you from shaking her.
“Remember Seungcheol? My neighbor?”
Immediately, the three boys are groaning in protest. Of course they know about Seungcheol, you only talk about him every single time the opportunity presents itself.
Seungcheol is a year older than you, currently the varsity captain of the wrestling team. After he moved into the house next to yours at the beginning of the year, all you ever have to say about him is oh, his muscles are so big. Jihoon, look at his hair, it looks so soft. Oh my god, I think he was looking at me. Jihoon wasn’t sure why he disliked Seungcheol when he actually was a kind person, but now he’s able to realize that it’s due to jealousy. The other boys are just sick of hearing you gush over a guy that doesn’t give you the time of day. Sana is the only one of your friends willing to hear you out on this absurd crush.
“What about Seungcheol?” Sana asks you.
“He pulled up to his house while we were unloading groceries and he came over to help–”  “So he did one nice thing.” Soonyoung interrupts you.
“Shut up, Soon! He’s always nice, but that isn’t the point.”
Huh, the pout on your face is sort of cute, Jihoon thinks.
“Anyways, when we finished, he asked to talk to me outside, and he asked me out!”
You’re squealing in excitement again, oblivious to the looks of terror and sympathy that Jihoons friends are sending him. He feels his heart sink.
Maybe it was better to stay unaware of his feelings, it’s not like he had a chance anyways. Still, he put on a fake smile like the rest of his friends.
“Oh my god!” Sana says. “That's so exciting!”
Soon enough, you’re all finishing up the movie, even if he can’t seem to focus on the screen. Seungcheol was a good guy, he should be happy for you. This was something that you had been wanting for a while and it was finally happening. Jihoon refused to be the person to ruin that for you. When the movie is over and Changkyun is driving everyone else back home, there's a tense silence.
Soonyoung clears his throat, nudging Jihoons foot with his own from the backseat, “They barely know anything about each other, maybe this is just a fling. It’ll pass.”
Changkyun looks at the two from the rearview mirror, “Yea, Seungcheol barely even looked at her before this. It’s kind of weird that he just asked her out.”
“Guys stop,” Sana says. She doesn’t turn to look at the boys in the car, instead looking outside through the passenger window. “I know we feel bad for Jihoon, but that’s not fair to her. She likes Seungcheol a lot, he could be her first boyfriend. It’s a big deal, so let's not ruin it for her.”
Jihoon sighs, “Right. Up until today, I didn’t even realize how much I like her… let's just pretend that conversation didn’t happen.”
The car pulls up in front of his house. He hurriedly unbuckles his seatbelt and leaves the car. He’s sniffling when he makes it to his room, flopping onto his bed. Part of him hopes you realize Seungcheol isn’t what you thought he’d be like and you’ll forget about him, but another part of him feels disgusting for thinking that.
A week later, you’re telling them all about how amazing your bowling date with Seungcheol went. He paid for everything and didn’t make you feel bad for being terrible at bowling. He wasn’t trying to get into your pants and was making genuine questions. He surprised you with flowers at the end of your date and asked when he could take you on another date. You went on a lot more dates after that, there was a picnic date, a trip to the movie theater, a corn maze.
On your birthday, Sana invited him to your party. Jihoon wasn’t sure what to get you, especially now that he had realized he liked you. He ended up making you a playlist and then burning it onto a CD. But at your party, Seungcheol surprised everyone by showing up with a guitar. He sang you a sweet love song in front of everyone, winning over all of your friends. Jihoon ended up hiding his CD, now embarrassed to give it to you. He couldn’t sing you a song the way Seungcheol did. He didn’t make you hide your face timidly or smile that big. When Sana asked him what he had gotten you, Jihoon said that his gift hadn’t arrived in time and would give it to you a little later.
Now, at the end of the school year, the CD he made for you is sitting on his desk, waiting for the opportunity to give it to you without it feeling like he was trying to steal you from Seungcheol.
The five of you attend the senior graduation. You had told your friends that you were feeling insecure about your relationship, how even though it had been a couple months of going out, Seungcheol hasn't asked you to be his girlfriend. And that he probably wouldn’t since he would be leaving for college. Still, you wanted to support him, so you showed up to the graduation with gifts to give him after the ceremony. To everyone’s amazement, he was the one to surprise you by asking you to be his girlfriend during his graduation party.
As Jihoon watched the romance between you and Seungcheol develop, he couldn’t help but feel many emotions. He loved the happiness that radiated from your smile and the twinkle in your eye whenever you were with him. But at the same time, he couldn’t help the jealousy from creeping in, wishing it was him instead of Seungcheol every time he’d catch the two of you hugging or kissing. He had only recently come to terms with his feelings but had no choice but to watch from the sidelines. He wasn't even upset with Seungcheol anymore, having finally gotten the chance to know him and realizing that he really was a good boyfriend.
Jihoon was determined to be a supportive friend, even if it meant keeping his feeling hidden. He still held onto the CD he created for your birthday, a reminder of his unrequited feelings. For now, he knew the timing wasn’t right to confess his feelings. But maybe one day, the stars would align, and the right moment would present itself.
After junior year ended, and you and Seungcheol officially became a couple, Jihoon’s heart carried a bittersweet melody. The CD, filled with songs that spoke about his feelings, remained on his desk, waiting for the day he could give it to you.

Plot: Lost in a maze-like haunted house, you and Jihoon get left behind.
Pairing: Lee Ji-hoon/Woozi x Gn!Reader
Prompt: 'Haunted House'

A/n's: This is mostly fluff and build up to a confession of sorts with the Halloween/haunted house stuff as a background plot. Reader is a giant scaredy-cat so sorry if that is not relatable. Woozi is secretly whipped for the reader.
Words: 2.5k
Tumblr media
If you weren't so freaked out, you'd be angry. Angry at Jeonghan for lying about where you were going, and angry at Hoshi for pulling you against your will into the haunted house.
The others laughed, but also pitied you, trying to convince you it would be fun, but also enjoying your misery at the same time.
The only one who seemed to care enough to try and make it easier on you, was Jihoon. He could tell that you really didn't enjoy doing things like this, and though he couldn't help you convince the boys to let you sit this out, he decided to help you however he could.
Much to your gratefulness and despair.
Jihoon stuck with you at the back of the group, pointing out where jump scares were most likely to come from, to help you expect it. He had his hand gently on your back while he guided you, as you gripped tightly onto his shirt when you ducked past the scare actors.
You were grateful for him being so kind to you, but you hated that he was witnessing your cowardice. Especially since you had the biggest crush on him, and you feared this may make him see you in a different light.
You weren't very close, at least not as close as you were with most of the others. But you knew that was your fault. You couldn't help but be attracted to him.
Your crush on him made you avoid him more than the others. You only spent time with him in a group, never alone. He made you nervous, and you hated the idea of being the friend who had a cute crush on the Woozi. Because you knew, or at least you thought you knew, that he would never feel the same about you.
Now you were latched onto him, showing him a side of you you thought was embarrassing. But to Jihoon, it was adorable.
Because truth is, Jihoon liked you too.
He adored you really, and was always looking for opportunities to be around you. Though he rarely found moments to be alone with you.
He began to notice it seemed to be purposeful, and at first he was afraid you didn't like him, but then he started to wonder, if it was the opposite.
He'd catch the small glances thrown at him, and the way you would be quick to look away if he tried to catch your eye. Then there were the moments when you'd clam up whenever he sat beside you, when moments before you were talking loudly with the others. The cute smile you'd give him in response to a question, as you fiddled with your hands.
This added up to one thing in his eyes. You had a crush on him too, or so he hoped.
Seeing the side of you he was now, was new. He knew you hated horror movies and ghost stories, but seeing you latch onto him as you clenched your eyes shut and held back whimpers of fear made him both pity you, and want to coddle you.
He took the opportunity to stick with you at the back of the group, helping you to not be too afraid. Because selfishly, he wanted to be the one you latched onto. The one you hugged out of fear, the one who comforted you.
Jihoon wasn't really sure if you realized that you were latched onto him, but he didn't particularly care. He was enjoying it anyways.
After another scare caused you to jolt, you tried to rush past the scare actor, before you stopped with a grunt.
Jihoon looked at you with curiosity, seeing you pulling at something.
"What's wrong?"
You glanced over at him before speaking softly, feeling shy once again. "My jacket is stuck."
As he tried to help you, you swallowed nervously, trying to ignore how his hands kept bushing over yours as you both tried to unhook your jacket from a decoration on the wall.
Jihoon glanced towards the group, seeing Hoshi and Dino rushing the others down the next corridor as they shot knowing and mischievous glances back at the two of you.
'They're going to leave us.'
As they disappeared around the corner, he knew he was right. He caught your eye and smiled, not wanting to freak you out just yet, knowing the other's wouldn't come back even if he yelled out to them.
He also knew a part of him enjoyed the idea of being alone with you, even if you'd be spending most of the time trying not to panic.
"There!" You said with a sigh as you finally managed to untangle yourself with little damage to your clothes.
Your eyes landed on the end of the corridor and you realized why it had gotten so quiet.
"They..." you trailed off as you looked at Jihoon who just nodded.
"Left, yeah."
You groaned as you hopped a little in frustration. Jihoon repressed a grin, thinking it was adorable but not wanting to fluster you.
"Come on, they shouldn't be too far away." He said with a soft tone, not wanting you to freak out.
You started to follow him, gently grabbing the sleeve of his shirt as a loud sound caused you to jump. You saw a smile tug at his lips, and felt a flash of warmth rush up your neck.
He must think I'm so stupid for being so scared.
Your frown only deepened when you came to an area that lead to two separate paths. You stared ahead before looking over at Jihoon who was looking at the doors with a thoughtful look.
"Which one do you think they took?"
He let out a soft sigh, "No idea." He looked over at you, "Which one do you want to go down?"
You stared at the doors before you shook your head, "You choose."
"So you can blame me if I pick the worse one?"
You couldn't help the smile that crossed your face, you met his eyes and nodded, "Exactly."
He let out a soft laugh before he nodded, "I'm okay with that."
You felt your ears burn a little hotter as he began leading you down the left path.
As the two of you crept down the corridor, jumping at the sudden sounds and flashing lights, you moved a little closer to Jihoon.
"I have to admit, this is a lot worse when you're not with a group."
You nodded as you flinched at a falling spider. "I hate it."
He looked over at you when he felt your grip tighten around his arm.
You caught his eye and realized as well, you let go. "Sorry!" You apologized bashfully, and he smiled widely at you and you felt your chest tighten.
Reaching over, he wrapped his hand around yours and you felt your whole body grow warm as you felt panic in your chest.
Keeping his eyes locked with yours his smile remained soft, "Is this better?"
Unable to speak out of surprise and meekness you simply nodded, and gave him a soft bashful smile. His smile widened a bit as he adjusted his grip in your hand and continue to walk with you.
Jihoon's heart was pounding in his chest as he tried to keep his breathing steady. Your hand fit perfectly in his and he could barely resist saying it.
He knew you were upset at the others for leaving the two of you behind, but in this moment, he couldn't be more grateful.
As your heart fluttered, you almost forgot where you were. You seemed to be in another calm part of the haunted house, as you entered a fairly empty room.
Seungcheol had dubbed these the "breathing rooms" where you could catch your breath after screaming your way through the haunted house.
You took a breath as you looked around, before meeting Jihoon's eyes. He was staring at you and you felt your body freeze.
"What?" You muttered as his gaze made you feel nervous.
He stepped towards you and you almost stepped back, but paused as he reached out towards your head. His fingers bushed your hair before pulling away a few fake spiderwebs.
"Oh" You muttered as your hands found your hair as you checked for more.
"I got it all." He smiled and you nodded, nodding your head.
"Thanks."
He nodded softly as he felt it harder to look away from you than he expected. The way you shyly looked away from him only made him want to reach out for you.
As a loud siren blared and someone ran through a hidden door scaring you, you screamed in surprise. Jihoon lunged forward grabbing you and pulling you into his chest as more actors ran past yelling.
You pressed your head closer to him until the noises stopped. You couldn't tell if the heartbeats you were hearing were Jihoon's or your own.
Slowly pulling back a little you looked at Jihoons face to see him watching you with a soft smile. You hoped the feelings that rushed through you weren't obvious on your face. The heat rising up your neck made you swallow hard as you felt it almost impossible to look away from him.
"Are you okay?" He asked softly, his voice just above a whisper.
You nodded softly as your heart raced. He gently brushed something away from your face and you almost pulled away in surprise.
After a silent moment your voice came out quiet and rushed, "I'm sorry."
You found yourself apologizing before you could think, and Jihoon frowned.
"For what?"
"You've been helping me through the whole haunted house you haven't been able to enjoy it yourself."
You shyly looked away as you stepped back. Your warmth leaving his arms made his chest clench as he felt a brief moment of desperation that almost made him reach out to grab you again.
He let out a soft laugh and you looked up.
He shook his head. "I couldn't care less about a haunted house. I didn't want to come either. Honestly helping you to feel less afraid also helped me." He smiled almost bashfully and you felt your heart thump.
"Maybe we can think of a way to get back at them huh?" He suggested, and you grinned before nodding.
"But for now lets get out of here." He let out a soft sigh, trying to repress is nerves.
He reached out his hand and you stared at it before meeting his eyes.
He smiled at you and flexed his hand. "Come on."
Slowly, you reached out and took his hand, following him out of the room. Your heart continued to race as butterflies filled your stomach.
Jihoons own heart was racing as he was shocked at his own sudden confidence. This was the boldest he had been towards you and he hoped it would lead to more.
As the two of you made your way down another hall, you found yourself pressed to his side once again, much to Jihoons delight.
After a few more scares, the two of you saw the exit and you let out a smile of relief. You stopped when Jihoon slowed a bit. You looked over at him curiously.
He spoke softly, almost timidly. "Can I ask you a question?"
You looked at him curiously to see him staring at you with an almost intense gaze. You swallowed nervously before nodding.
"Why don't we hang out more?"
You flinched at a sudden sound before you glanced at him. You hesitated, unsure of what to say. You couldn't tell him the real reason.
"Uhm, I don't know." You mumbled, knowing it sounded like a total lie.
From the look on his face you knew he knew it was a lie too. You swallowed before blurting out.
"That was a lie, I do know."
He quirked his brow at the sudden switch up and let out a surprised chuckle. You seemed to almost get lost in his gaze before a yell startled you as you grabbed onto him again.
He held you against him as he stared down at you with amusement and glee. Groaning as the scare actor ran away, you glanced back at Jihoon and let out a sigh of defeat. You didn't have the energy to lie.
"You make me nervous."
He furrowed his brow as he thought over your words, before a smile crossed his face.
You looked away shyly as you stepped back from him. But your eyes immediately looked back at him when you heard a chuckle. Your chest clenched.
Oh great is he gonna make fun of me?
When you saw his eyes, it wasn't a look of amusement, instead it was more a look of elation.
"Cute."
He stepped towards you and you swallowed, almost forgetting to breath. He leaned towards you a bit as he whispered, as if he was telling you a secret.
"You make me nervous too."
You stared at him with bewilderment. "I do? Why?"
He let out a soft laugh at the surprise in your voice.
"For the same reason I make you nervous I'm guessing."
Oh he knows. How long has he known? Wait, what?!
"Oh."
Jihoon could tell he caught you off guard, making him wonder if you really had no inkling of how he felt. He grinned before he suddenly leaned forward pressing a kiss to your cheek, just on the edge of your lips.
Your eyes widened as you stared at him in shock. Before you could respond, he turned you and pushed you through the exit, out into the cold night air. You were met immedietely with a chorus of loud noises, cheers and laughter.
Your shock at Jihoon's actions wavered as you were suddenly bombarded with teasing from the other members.
"Took you long enough!" Jeonghan whined.
"You survived!" Dino cheered.
As Hoshi skipped towards you, you momentarily pushed aside your previous emotions as you smacked him on the chest, making him yelp.
"You left us behind!"
You heard Jihoon laugh from beside you a you chased Hoshi away, before glaring at the others.
"But you survived, that's what matter!" DK grinned.
"You're not gonna survive the rest of the night!"
The others cackled and yelled in surprise and awe as DK gaped in awe and offense at you.
After a few more teasing insults, you all made your way back towards the parking lot. Your rush of emotions changed once again as you felt an arm press against yours. Looking over, you saw Jihoon walking beside you.
He glanced over at you and you saw a knowing smile on his face. You couldn't repress your own grin as his hand brushed yours.
You hid your feelings as well as you could as he made subtle hints of affection towards you for the rest of the night. Knowing looks and smiles, his hand brushing yours, his knee nudging yours purposefully as he sat beside you in the car.
Whatever you thought was going to happen tonight paled in comparison. And you knew that you would no longer avoid Jihoon. Because even though he did still make you nervous, you now knew it was mutual, and there was nothing to be afraid of. And you were more than excited to see what would happen next.
xx End xx

You kind of expected Jihoon to be more touchy the night Areum and Bomi were brought home. Areum seemed to be in shock, staring wide-eyed and blankly with her mouth open as Chan cradled her and brought her up to his room, and Bomi just silently went straight to her room with Mingyu following behind her. Jihoon went straight to you, hugged you, and told you he loved you.
It could’ve been you that was taken.
Jihoon stayed extra close that night. Usually went he slept, his arm would just loosely drape over you or he would sometimes just sleep facing away from you all together. But that night, his arms were tight around you as he grumbled to himself in his sleep.
The next day, Jihoon had off, but you had class. You usually carpooled with whoever was going to school, but Jihoon insisted on driving you himself. He held your hand with one hand, and the wheel with the other. He even hung around campus just to walk you to classes and help you study.
That went on for three more days until you finally confronted him. You were letting him walk you to class while he held your hand in his, his brown eyes watching your every move as he occasionally brought the back of your hand to his lips. It was a little weird having him stare at you so much, so you finally let out a loud sigh and pulled him off to the side.
“What’s up with you?” you asked.
“Huh?”
“Why are you clingier than usual?” you wondered, tugging down the mask that hid your scars. “Seriously, you’re never this clingy in public. You hate PDA, and you played with my hair and kissed my cheek a million and one times during lunch break.”
Your mate just shrugged, “Is it a crime to be affectionate, _____?”
“No, but when you’re not usually this affectionate, I like to know what’s wrong.”
“I just–”
Jihoon stopped to run a hand through his hair. He didn’t look angry or frustrated though. He looked…flustered. His ears were red, that same blush growing on his face as he looked at the ground, hoping to find words that wouldn’t embarrass the hell out of him.
“After what…happened,” he began, keeping his voice down in case anybody was trying to listen, “I just feel…I don’t know. I want to be near you a lot, I guess – at least for now. Everyone’s still kind of shaken up, especially Faye even if she wants to pretend she’s not, so I just need to be around you.”
“Aw,” you cooed with a giggle, making Jihoon’s face turn an even brighter red, “you’re feeling all warm and fluffy for me!”
“Jesus Christ, _____, can you not?” he groaned softly, his eyes shifting to see if anybody was watching.
Thankfully, people knew to not stare at either of you.
“What? You’re the one acting all cutesy!”
“Yeah, but it’s different,” he grumbled.
You scoffed, rolling your eyes, “So you’re the only one allowed to be cutesy?”
“Yes.”
Jihoon started dragging you through campus again, so you pulled your mask back up and let him bring you wherever. You had about thirty minutes until your next class, so you weren’t in any rush. However, when you started going toward the arts building, you were confused. Not only were you not studying any of the arts, but Jihoon didn’t have any classes that day so he had no reason to bring you there.
You didn’t say anything as he pulled the door open and gestured for you to walk in first. You’d only been in the arts building a few times just to accompany some of the mates, but you’d never been in with Jihoon.
“Where are we going?” you wondered as Jihoon put his arm around your waist and started leading you down the hall. “I thought we were going to study.”
“Yeah, but you can do that tonight,” he shrugged.
“Jihoon,” you whined.
“Can you just trust me? I want to spend alone time with you and do some cute shit, so stop complaining,” he stated with a frown, yet he kissed your temple afterwards.
He led you toward the music wing, but he didn’t exactly go to the music room you often visited for Seungkwan. Instead, he suddenly turned a sharp left and tugged open one of the side doors for the auditorium. He gently pulled you into the darkness before letting the door close behind you.
He could see perfectly as he brought you backstage with him, but you were tripping over your own feet and the carpet. Thankfully, Jihoon was able to keep you from falling over with his quick reflexes.
The place was totally empty, so your footsteps echoed when you hit the stage. He found the lights and turned only the stage ones on. The glow of the lights bounced off the recently mopped stage, and made the entire auditorium glow dimly. You also found that off to stage left was a grand piano.
“What’re we doing?” you asked once again.
“Spending time together,” he answered simply with the cutest smile on his face as he looked at you. “Do you remember the last time I ever played piano for you?”
“Yeah, when Yoona and Minghao got Junhui that keyboard for his birthday,” you nodded, recalling how only a month later, Mingyu somehow accidentally dropped it down the basement stairs.
“Right,” he nodded, taking your hand again and leading you over to the bench, “so it’s been a while, huh?”
You always loved when Jihoon would play any sort of instrument for you. He didn’t do it often because he was kind of shy when it came to showing you or anyone in the pack what he was working on. But man, did you live for the rare moments he wanted to show off his skills. It was like Jihoon was amazing at anything he tried.
You sat down beside Jihoon as he lifted up the cover to the keys. He stared down at them as he gently ran his fingertips over the white keys, listening to the faint twinkle he heard with his enhanced hearing.
“The janitors always keep that one door unlocked for some reason,” Jihoon suddenly said as he placed his fingers on the starting keys, “so this is where I’ve been coming the last few days.”
“You mean I could’ve been hearing you play more this entire time?” you gasped, feigning hurt.
He chuckled, his cheeks blushing a soft pink, “Yeah, you could. But I was kinda preparing something for you, so it had to be a secret. You’ve...kind of...been all I can think about, so…yeah…”
“Preparing something?” you asked quietly, suddenly feeling very shy, which was weird since you never felt shy. “You mean like…a song?
“Yeah,” he nodded, the blush reaching the tips of his ears now.
Jihoon cleared his throat awkwardly before he began playing. Your eyes stayed on his fingers as they danced across the keys delicately, not missing a single note. He hardly even needed to pay attention because he’d played this song he wrote for you so many times just to get it perfect, and it paid off because you were in absolute awe.
The song sounded soft and beautiful, but still happy. It was almost like a peaceful lullaby that you’d sing to a baby to lull them into a sleep full of happy dreams. There weren’t any lyrics, but it didn’t need any. Jihoon managed to expertly express all of his emotions through the piano keys, and it was incredible.
It almost made you want to cry.
The song softly came to an end, the music fading until he removed his hands from the keys and the auditorium fell silent again with the soft noise of the piano reverberating off the walls. You just stared at Jihoon while he stared down at the piano.
“You…” your voice trailed off, unsure of even what to say. You felt a lot of things but you couldn’t put any of those things into words. “Jihoon, I–”
“I love you, _____,” Jihoon cut you off, picking up on your struggle to grasp for words. He finally looked at you, his gold eyes warm. “I may not be as affectionate as the other guys, but I love you a lot.”
“I know that,” you nodded, cupping one of his cheeks in your hand. He leaned into your touch with a quiet hum, “but I love you because you’re you. You show your feelings in other ways, and I love that. If you acted more like Soonyoung or Mingyu or Chan, you wouldn’t be you.”
You expected him to say something sarcastic as he always did, but instead, he smiled, “Thanks, _____.”
His lips captured yours in a sweet kiss, letting his lips settle into yours for a moment before he pulled away. He pressed a kiss to the button of your nose before pulling away again.
“Do you want to learn something?” he offered, gesturing to the piano.
“Can I ask you something first?”
“Mm,” he hummed, putting his fingers back on the keys.
You turned your head to look at him, “How did you write that song for me?”
He paused, looking away from the piano in favor of looking at you. His eyes had a sparkle in them when his gaze met yours, “I just kind of took my feelings and translated them into music as best as I could.”
“So that’s what your love for me sounds like?” you giggled.
He grinned down at the piano as his cheeks turned pink once again, and you nudged him teasingly, “Yeah, I guess so. But nothing will beat the sound of your laugh.”
