"took you long enough."

satoru blinked twice, those icy lashes fluttering as his blurry gaze focused on the figure next to him. he hadn't heard that voice in so long that it barely felt real, a fragment in his memories.

"i thought you'd be at least a little bit happy to see me," your lips were tilted up in a grin that easily met your eyes. you're eighteen: white blouse tucked into a long skirt and your hair twisted up away from your face. there's a sliver of silver peeking up from below your collar and he didn't need to see the necklace fully to know that the characters on the bottom spelt his name.

you were gorgeous.

"i'm always happy to see you," it was unnatural for satoru's voice to be so quiet and gentle and your laugh created a symphony he'd long forgotten. it had been six excruciating years since he'd last been blessed with your joy.

the last time he had seen you you were twenty-two, a white cloth covering your body. a mission gone wrong. that was what shoko had told him and he just had to accept it, because what else could he do?

he was the strongest until it mattered.

"smile a little for me toru, i've missed you," you were bubbly but there was a tenderness in your tone. you were dead, and now so was he, it wasn't something someone could acknowledge lightly.

but he was here, with you, and so despite it all he did as you wished, the smile he reserved only for you. there was a brief moment, the two of you staring lovingly into the other's eyes as you adjusted to this new reality: one where curses didn't exist and gojo satoru was just gojo satoru.

"you waited for me?" satoru asked, his glasses dropping further down his nose as his blue eyes flicked to your lips - the lips that had once been so familiar to him.

"we all did," you nudged his shoulder lightly and pointed in the direction of a vending machine where haibara and geto were arguing whilst nanami watched in eternal disappointment.

satoru swallowed thickly, blinking quickly like that could stop the tears that wanted to spill down his cheeks.

the gentle touch of your hands against his face redirected his attention back to your pretty face. `'you're safe now, pretty boy. you've done all that you could for them, you can have peace now."

them. megumi, yuji, nobara, yuta, all of his students past and present. it hurt him to know that they were now facing kenjaku and sukuna without him, but death offered him a freedom he'd never had before. the peace you spoke of; not having to constantly be on alert for the next assignment or worry that he would be seeing his students in the morgue, it was a bliss he wanted more than he'd care to admit.

so he wouldn't admit it.

instead, he kissed you, his dead heart beating loudly in his ears as he remembered what it felt like to truly be alive.

yourusername there's a lot to announce so hold on to something. the reason i've been MIA the past few months was the world chess championship. i've been isolating myself with mentors in a hotel to study and practice for my matches to prepare for the championship. a huge thank you to all the people that have helped me, motivated me and encouraged me my whole career to never give up on myself, they're the reason i can call myself a chess world champion now. a special thank you to magnus_carlsen who didn't defend his title this year and was able to guide me throughout our sessions together, i wouldn't be where i am today without your guidance. another massive thank you to my fiancé and the love of my life, charles. Mi corazón (my heart), you've been so patient with me the last months, kept calling me despite my heavy mood swings and motivated me as much as you could. i'm so sorry i couldn't attend any of your races this year so far, but i promise i won't leave you alone for any longer. especially now that we have a big adventure to join soon, parenthood, you won't get rid of us so easily! te amo, gracias ❤️ (i love you, thank you)

It's been awhile since you've last seen the view from a hilltop. For some reason, it was where he asked you to meet up.

He was sitting at the best spot to look at the bustling city when you arrived. Mysta's head was hanging low as if he was lost in deep thoughts.

He was so pre-occupied with his thoughts that he didn't even notice your arrival. There was a hint of sadness in his eyes, but at the same time, there was contentment.

Somehow, you feel uneasy. As if whatever reason he asked you to come might break your heart. You shook your head, dismissing that feeling in your gut.

“Hey, silly. Did I make you wait?” you asked as soon as you settled next to him.

He blinked and slowly turned his head towards you. His soft bluish eyes met your gaze before giving you that tight lip smile.

“No,” he said while shaking his head. “You're just in time.”

He suddenly looked at the horizon, his lips were tight pursed as he tapped his fingertips against his knees.

“Hey, you good?” he glanced at your hand resting against his shoulder before meeting your eyes.

Oh, your vision began to blur as tears began to slip from your eyes. Followed by hiccups and sniffles that you've been holding back for so long.

“You already know why I asked you to come here?” he asked with a smile before playfully ruffling your hair. “You're a really smart cookie, aren't you?”

He suddenly looks back at the skies above you two. The air around him was different compared to how it was recently. It was as if you were seeing an earlier version of him.

“You know, I can't really understand how you've come to like me.” He chuckled. “Like, I'm just a normal guy who sometimes talks shit to myself. Like, why...? How come someone as talented and special as you pays attention to some weird guy?”

“Because you're amazing, Mysta.” You wiped the tears from your eyes before looking at his eyes. “Your humor? Immaculate. Your laughter? Infectious. And the noises you make?” You paused before clearing your throat. “—Questionable.”

“You little—”

“I can't really put into words how I ended up adoring someone like you. You're weird and sometimes insane, but for some reason, it makes you more you?”

“You're nuts.”

“And?” you asked, before sniffling again. “I don't know how I can make you understand how I feel whenever I watch you do crazy stuff, but I hope you can accept what I feel for you?”

He looked down, before looking at the city once again.

“I don't know, man.” He sighed. “I really wish that someday I could understand why you liked me. I wish that one day why you create all of those things for me.”

“You'll be able to do so, Mysta,” you replied with a smile. “There's no doubt about that.”

“Man, you're making it so hard to leave,” he whispered while covering his eyes with his right arm.

One simple gesture made you weep once again.

“Can you stay with me just a little longer?”

He sniffled. “It's not gonna be that easy, you know? It's not like I could just say 'Sike! I've changed my mind. I'm no longer leaving.'"

“Can't you stay even just for a little bit?” you whispered while holding onto the hem of his long sleeve.

“Don't worry, I'll always be around,” he replies while patting the top of your head. “I bet you'll know that it's me when that day comes around.”

He smiled with tears in the corner of his eyes.

“You'll be fine.”

9. What’s one way their personalities complement one another? (Is it opposites attract or are they pretty similar?)

Hisame is a lot more extroverted than Kiki, and it's super helpful in soirees and other social situations. Hisame can carry the conversation and small talk, while Kiki can smile and nod. Soirees are great for intel too. In those situations, Hisame's good at asking the right questions, while Kiki can listen and absorb the key details. In any case, formal events are a lot less stressful for Kiki now with Hisame at her side. She doesn't feel the urge to make herself invisible in a corner and go home as soon as possible.

31. What was the most surprising thing they learned about one another once they started dating?

Kiki has habituated to Zen's schedule where he tries to hoard every extra minute possible to sleep in during the morning and ignores his human alarms in the form of Kiki and Mitsuhide. Since Hisame loves sleep, Kiki thought that he would be a late riser as well. It turns out he doesn't mind waking up early, probably ingrained in him from his years of training as a knight. It's when Hisame oversleeps that she gets concerned these days, since it's so rare.

Because of how reserved Kiki is, Hisame assumed that she wasn't big on physical affection. So, when they became a couple, he was really floored by her initiating casual touches and other forms of physical affection. Later, he realized that... it's not that Kiki particularly favors touch. She makes a point of it because he likes it.

35. Who wanted/would want kids first?

As successor to the Seiran earldom, having a child is something expected of Kiki. So, she's never thought about wanting a child. It's just her responsibility. She's confident in her ability to raise a child, though. (She and Mitsuhide raised Zen, in a way 😂).

Hisame is similar in that he knows they must have a child but he would have been fine either way. He enjoys the idea of having a kid with Kiki though, because he thinks they will be super cute. He's vain that way 😎. But on a more serious note, he is also secretly in awe of the idea of having a family of his own, given his estrangement with his family of birth. He wants to do a good job and tick all the boxes as a father.
