Trick or Treat! (This time on Aster’s behalf! Hope you don’t mind-)

"Oh- oh, hey- I remember that kid! I keep that crown he made me in a special place, heh.

Here- deliver this carefully, would ya? I was saving it for a gym challenger as a special prize for any winning challengers tonight, but things have been winding down, so... I think I'd like him to have it. It's a Bulbasaur egg- I help Gramps breed em sometimes."

#You Starry- by giving Aster a Bulbasaur- have unintentionally stumbled across a bit of lore—#which I have to explain to make his reaction make sense. Okay? Let’s go!#(I spent all morning doodling this. Don’t ask me why he has long sleeves-)#Okay. One thing you need to know about Aster is that he has no Pokémon. He hasn’t had a Team the entire time he’s been in Sanctuary.#Reason?: Aster lost all of his Pokémon at the summit of Mount Silver.#(MissingNo corrupted them. And when Aster and Del were found—his Team couldn’t be saved.)#Aster struggled with that loss A LOT. A loss only made worse by other things I won’t explain here.#Years down the line Aster still hasn’t gotten a Pokémon (I mean- he’s a ghost. how would he take care of them properly? <- His mindset)#He volunteers to help watch other Pokémon though. He helps out at Daycares and helps out with any Baby Pokémon around. He’s good with them.#But he would never allow himself to have another Pokémon—believing that the deaths of his beloved companions were his fault.#Still—he wants a companion again so much that it hurts. But he never allows himself to. Always saying that if by some divine chance it’s in #-the cards—he’ll take one in.#So imagine how he feels when some kind soul gifts him an egg and it hatches into a Bulbasaur—#The damn near spitting image of his own Starter Pokémon—the very same he got back in Pallet Town.#(Yeah- he was a bit of a wreck for a couple of minutes but he took her in.#He couldn’t let this one go.#He named her Onion :] and he’s in love. I hope Blue knows that she’s in good hands.)#But uhhhh- Yeah! Just a bit of Aster lore for you. Not a lot but I figured you would enjoy knowing a little more about him :)#(I could write this better if if weren’t in the tags- but maybe another time. Hopefully it’s not too horribly explained.)
