Yu Lingfeng wordt getransporteerd naar de wereld van een boek dat hij zat te lezen en moet de einde van Xianzun, wiens lichaam en rol hij in het verhaal heeft op overgenomen, zien te veranderen.

De episode zijn erg kort, dus je vliegt er door heen. Hoewel je nergens lang bij stil staat en niet geen tijd wordt genomen om de personages uit te diepen, was het verhaal erg boeiend. Ook was het erg grappig, al zullen sommige snel al genoeg hebben van de geluidseffecten die gebruikt worden.

Shifu does not take him to his own room when they leave the prison doors, but instead they turn and walk down the path to Shifu own quarters. Chu Ye doesn’t comment on this, choosing instead to suppress the twitching on the corners of his mouth.

“Come on, we’re almost there,” Xianzun says gently. His careful gaze almost apologetic, as if everything from the moment he was accused to the blatant rescue from the sect’s prison was his fault.

It isn’t. Chu Ye knows it isn’t.

He squeezes Shifu’s hand once, letting himself be led into the warm comforts of the familiar interior of his Shifu’s home. “Sit on the bed and let me take a good look at you, hm?”

Chu Ye obeys, heart still thrumming as he watches the man before him bustling around his quarters, gathering pots of of unguents and fresh bandages. “I have some spare robes you can use, make do with them for now,” Shifu says, settling his things on the small table. Sitting down next to Chu Ye, he lifts a hand to take his injured arm into his touch, brushing back the sleeve to inspect the wound.

“There might still be poison in this, I’ll need to suck on it.” Shifu gently runs his thumb on the reddened edges. In the candlelight, the shadows of his long lashes beats hypnotic beat as he blinks in deep consideration.

Chu Ye is mesmerised.

“Whatever Shifu thinks is best,” He manages, voice only a little breathless. Shifu lifts his gaze to him, starry eyes sparking up in this dark night when he smiles, wrapping a hand around Chu Ye’s wrist. The thrumming in his heart stutters into a Staccato beat.

Chu Ye feels his scalp seize in an unbearable tingle, spine numbing, a curious fire pooling in his belly when Shifu parts his cherry red lips slick with spit to say, “Then, I’ll start now.”

The first press of those full lips startles him into a soft gasp. Cool and hellishly hot at the same time, the darting hint of a tongue snaps whatever thin thread of sanity left in him.

Chu Ye can scarcely dare to breathe at the first gentle suckling. When the pressure releases, then builds again, pulling all the world into the focused point of where Shifu’s lips are pressing down on his skin. Soft pink clouds settle on the high of his cheekbones, dusting on the corners of those peach blossom eyes.

When Shifu pulls back with a gentle sigh, Chu Ye keeps his eyes fixed on the way the thin thread of saliva connects there bodies, on the glossy sheen of his lips as he turns to take a cloth, spitting elegantly. “Did I hurt you? I’m sorry,” Shifu says with a wry curl of his lips. His touch on Chu Ye’s wrist abates, then leaves all together when he let’s go.

The movement shocks Chu Ye into action. Quickly grabbing onto Shifu’s sleeve, he holds on tight, causing the man to stumble and lean into Chu Ye.

Panic and an apology coagulates at the forefront of his mind, but what comes out of his lips is a muttered, “How did I taste?”

Those starry eyes widen for a fraction before slowly darkening into twin mysterious pools. “Like a dessert,” Shifu replies with a teasing laugh, pulling away. This time Chu Ye doesn’t try to hold on to him, turning away quickly with burning cheeks.

“Rest here for a moment,” Shifu continues, casting him a lingering look. “I’ll take you to enter seclusion in a shichen.”

Chu Ye can only swallow tightly, nodding tightly as he watches him go.

Chu Ye cannot trust Yu Lingfeng.

There is no part of him that trusts the shape of his name on the other man’s lips. Every part of him guards his heart from the wild winds stirring at the languid smile that accompanies the tail end of a laugh.

Does not believe the way that he moves against himself; the way Yu Lingfeng touches him on the corner of his jaw to carefully, almost reverently, drawing him in for a kiss. Cannot surrender to the taste of himself in Yu Lingfeng’s mouth, to the shuddering breath he steals in whole, to the devouring inferno that burns Chu Ye up from within at how the man in his arms so easily relinquishes control to him.

“Chu Ye,” His Shifu whispers against the shell of his ear. “Chu Ye…”

Biting back an unbidden moan rising in his throat, his Shifu drags his hands to press him down by his still-clothed waist. The motion draws a laughing gasp from Yu Lingfeng and an easy pull of Chu Ye into the safe harbour between his slender thighs.

He flickers his eyes to ever-smiling lips, down the ruffled collar of pale robes that frame the creamy expanse of unmarked skin. With a sudden flare of desire, Chu Ye feels an itch gnaw in the backs of his teeth. How would Yu Lingfeng look with a welted necklace of bites in the shape of Chu Ye’s teethmarks.

The rush of possessiveness leaves him dizzy with want. Even more so when the thought of everyone in the sect not missing the way he, Chu Ye, is the one with the privilege to mar his exalted Shifu. This lowly disciple, hated and scorned, is the only person allowed the gift of worship and knowing this man in every carnal and intimate way.

His thoughts wander, following pathways of what-ifs and maybes. “Chu Ye?” He hears distantly called and the soft lilt of his name anchors him back to the present. Instinctively, Chu Ye leans into the warm touch of a palm to his cheek, gaze lifting to the man below him. In the dreamlike candlelight haze, he catches the strangest emotion flickering in Yu Lingfeng’s starry dark eyes and the honesty he finds there speaks too much for things he cannot yet say.

Chu Ye can’t trust Yu Lingfeng.
