The PlayStation 2 version of Virtual On is a rebuilt port of the original Sega AM3 arcade model 2 source code. It's rare to see this title of port these days and due to the hard work of M2 and many of the original staff. This version includes numerous extra features, both arcade & Sega Saturn soundtracks, bonus modes, hidden characters and content not found in any other version of the game. If you are a Virtual On fan this is the must have version of the game. Full playthrough / longplay / trueplay as both the penalty boss Jaguarandi (ヤガランデ) and then one as the final boss Z-GRADT (ジグラット). Who is made playable in this PlayStation 2 port for the first time via his hidden mode. The version of Jaguarandi included in this port is even more powerful than the one featured in the Saturn version. For the Jaguarandi playthrough we also do battle with the new secret boss VR Unofficial. Which is the original VR.Fei-Yen unit who was supposed to have disappeared without a trace along with the original Raiden and Viper 1.

Z-GRADT is very limited to play as and only fights the eight main robots, as the player you can also choose to trigger his super cannon or not, making it very hard to lose as him. The camera is ideal and his movement is very restricted. Played in 480p and 496x384 resolution using the wide screen feature, however this set up runs in quite a small windowed compared to 480i mode. Bit of trivia for you it appears Z-GRADT name is a mistranslation of the Japanese name Ziggurat, which is the base of an ancient temple.

To unlock both Jaguarandi & Z-GRADT mode, highlight the “Credits” option on the main system menu and hold right for 5-10 seconds, until “Game Setting (Secret)” appears. Both virtuaroids can then be unlocked in the new option menu that has appeared, along with some other cool secrets.

SEGA’S VIRTUAL-ON - LUTAS INSANAS ENTRE VIRTUAROIDS

Virtual On, sendo rotulado como Cyber Troopers Virtual On( 電脳戦機バーチャロン, Dennō Senki Bāchyaron ) em solo nipônico, é uma franquia de fighting games com mechas de batalha ao melhor estilo Gundam. O primeiro game foi lançado para arcades em 1996, depois foi reprogramado no mesmo ano para o SEGA Saturn. Os designs dos mechas para cada installment da série robótica foram elaborados por Hajime Katoki, sendo Juro Watari o criador de Virtual On. Para jogadores do Saturn, foi criado o Twin Stick, um sistema de dois joysticks que simulavam a jogatina original da versão arcade de Virtual On, mas os comandos reproduziam a sensação de operar um tanque de guerra, ou mesmo um trator de esteiras...

Resumo geral

Virtual On é um jogo de luta no qual os jogadores controlam robôs gigantes (Mechas), conhecidos como Virtuaroids. Jogadores fazem uso de armas como canhões laser, sabres de luz, explosivos e etc., para destruir o inimigo por um determinado número de rodadas, geralmente uma ��nica batalha, ou melhor duas de três rodadas. Virtual On foi feito para ser jogado com uma configuração de dois joysticks, conhecida como twin-sticks. Cada stick está equipado com um gatilho e um botão na parte superior do stick. Temjin, Fei-Yen, Belgdor, Dorkas, VR-Viper II, Raiden, Apharmd e Bal-Bas-Bow são os personagens do primeiro game, intitulado como Operation Moongate, com Jaguarandi sendo um chefe secreto, e Z-Gradt o último chefe. Virtual On, Oratorio Tangram(1998), adicionou outros personagens, tais como Bal-Bados, Angelan, Specineff, Cypher, Vok, Dordray, e o chefe secreto, Ajim, que tem a forma de um cristal.

Le « Flyboard Air », fabriqué en France par Zapata Industries, est un véritable véhicule volant autonome alimenté en kérosène. Il peut évoluer jusqu'à 190 km/h avec une autonomie d'une dizaine de minutes. De quoi susciter l'intérêt des états-majors du monde entier.

L'image du défilé du 14 juillet 2019 ? Ne cherchez pas, il n'y en a qu'une : Franky Zapata volant debout sur son « Flyboard Air » fusil en main à plusieurs dizaines de mètres au-dessus des Champs-Elysées. Avec ce véhicule de son invention ce Marseillais de 40 ans, champion d'Europe et du monde de jet-ski, a captivé la foule et ébahi notamment Angela Merkel et Emmanuel Macron.

Engin futuriste, le « Flyboard Air » est un véritable véhicule volant autonome alimenté en kérosène doté de cinq mini-turboréacteurs et d'un algorithme qui ajuste en permanence l'inclinaison des turbo-réacteurs ainsi que la vitesse des turbines latérales ; ce qui lui permet de décoller et d'évoluer jusqu'à 190 km/h avec une autonomie d'une dizaine de minutes.

De quoi susciter l'intérêt des états-majors du monde entier. Cette mini-plateforme volante « va permettre de tester différentes utilisations, par exemple une plateforme logistique volante ou bien une plateforme d'assaut » pour les militaires français, a commenté la ministre des Armées Florence Parly sur France Inter avant le défilé.

Tracasseries administratives en France

Cette innovation développée à 100 % dans les ateliers de l'entreprise Zapata Industries au Rove (Bouches-du-Rhône), a pourtant bien failli échapper à la France. En octobre 2017 l'entrepreneur avait proposé au commandement des forces spéciales américaines (USSOCOM), qui a toujours rêvé d'un soldat volant, le concept d'Ez-Fly  développé par la société Z-Air, une filiale de Zapata Industries.

L'Ez-Fly est l'évolution du Flyboard Air qui s'apparente à un Segway capable de voler à 130 km/h avec une autonomie d'environ 10 minutes. A cette époque, l'armée américaine a bien failli racheter l'entreprise d'un Franky Zapata interdit de vol en France sous peine de poursuites.

Confronté à des tracasseries administratives et réglementaires en France , il déclarait  au printemps 2017 dans les colonnes du « Parisien »  : « On me fait des ponts d'or ailleurs, mais si je pars ce sera contraint et forcé, je veux me battre pour rester ici, en France. Les autorités doivent trouver une solution ».

La traversée de la Manche

Ce sera chose faite en novembre 2018 à l'occasion d'une démonstration de son Flyboard Air aux forces spéciales françaises lors du Forum Innovation Défense, organisé à Paris. Pari gagné. A cette occasion Zapata Industries décroche 1,3 million d'euros du ministère des Armées pour améliorer son Flyboard Air, en collaboration avec l'Office national d'études et de recherches aérospatiales (ONERA) et la société Poly-shape.

Au programme : développer un système de propulsion plus stable, plus maniable et aussi plus discret. De fait, comme les spectateurs l'ont remarqué dimanche, le Flyboard Air est encore très bruyant, c'est-à-dire tout le contraire de « furtif ».

Prochain rendez-vous du public avec l'homme volant : le 25 juillet. Cent dix ans jour pour jour après Louis Blériot, Franky Zapata compte traverser la Manche. Pour cette tentative il lui faudra, pour la première fois, être ravitaillé en carburant en plein vol.

Full playthrough / longplay / trueplay as the PlayStation 2 extra boss Unofficial (アンオフィシャル), whom is only found in the PlayStation 2 port of Virtual-On. Unofficial is the original Fei-Yen battle unit and is one of the most powerful virtuaroid in the game. This Fei-Yen acts as if she is in her super charged state all the time, even without taking damage. While she loses the bow gun and sword she replaces it with a new heart attack for her left arm and the right hand cannon is also in a powered up state from the start. She makes light work of all the other virtuaroids with easy even Jaguarandi. To show this we deliberately summed him for this video, by running down the clock against Bal-Bas-Bow in two matches. To fight Unofficial in-game you need to finish the other eight virtuaroids on normal or above in under 4 minutes, she replaces Z-GRADT if done correctly. Also make sure that the final boss option is set to arranged in the extra settings menu, else she will not appear. To play as her, you need to beat her, then highlight Fei-Yen on the virtuaroid selection hold the “Dash” button and press “Start” to chose her. If done correctly her heart charm sound effect will sound. While the launch scene will show the normal Fei-Yen, as soon as you play as her the bow gun will disappear and she can now be viewed in the 3D model gallery.
