It’s done!! Meant to have this request finished in time for Valentine’s Day but I enjoyed this idea so much that I keep going on it till I was satisfied! Based on “Zombies” by Deco*27 feat. Hatsune Miku

"Marx says there’s a zombie virus going around Pop Star? I'm not concerned. It's obviously a hoax. This planet is snooze-inducingly peaceful."

"Everyone's still talking about the supposed zombie virus. Ridiculous, when no one's been infected yet."

"Today, Marx told me we should go along with it. ...We're going to dress as zombies and pretend we're infected. He says with everyone already spooked, it'll be a great prank."

Notes: This is meant to be a pre-Marxolor story. Magolor is the first to come around to the idea that he might like Marx, but Marx’s feelings for Magolor are unknown.

The infection begins in the RtDL windmill tree. The Lor’s screen is meant to display warnings, life meters, and a few pictures of Marx and Magolor that Magolor has secreted away in his personal files.

Marx regains consciousness briefly directly after biting Magolor (temporarily losing the heart/parasite eyes) just long enough to realize what’s going on and react with horror.

Will Magolor wake as a zombie? Will he and Marx “unlive” happily ever after? Is a half-decomposed “I luv u” really not that bad...?

Soooooo I had the crazy idea to make a banner for @desultory-novice I used their Magolor and Marx's from their AUs along with normal Marx and Mags and their soul forms

I really hope she likes it!

in the zombies au, do the zombies have heart eyes, perhaps, because they go after the person they love the most first....? :)

PS: This little story is no longer canon with the original song and it's themes. That said, I also think with this "prologue" it has officially run its course, so consider this the last part of the Zombie Marxolor AU!

Heellooo. Seeing "old" things I remembered THAT marxolor art based “ zombie by Deco*27 ” so uhhm. Do you plan to do a mini comic or an au in the future with that theme? I would really be interested in seeing it teehee 🤭

To be honest... I don't have any plans. ^^ It'd feel just a little weird expanding on lore for what boils down to an original song w/ no ties to Kirby (the "zombie virus is triggered by unrequited love" bit I added in later already made me feel self-conscious) but mainly, I don't know where I'd take it now that they're both zombies.

I guess there's "everyone else gets infected" but I dunno, I'm kinda tired of zombie apocalypse stories?? Feels like the "spark of hope"/survival in those is all a big tease because attrition is ALWAYS inevitable. (That and "humans are the real monsters" etc etc...)

But...if Marx and Magolor's infection did lead to an outbreak among the cast occurring, Taranza is 100% going to be the next to go.

(And then they become an idol group/j)
