Kerry Washington Talks Life After 'Scandal' & Teases Upcoming Cast Reunion! (Exclusive)

Kerry Washington is doing pretty great after Scandal,but she misses her co-stars.

ET caught up with the 41-year-old actress at the Bronx Children's Museum Annual Gala in New York on Tuesday, where she dished on life after her hit ABC drama and her love for museums.

"It feels pretty extraordinary. I miss my friends," Washington shared. "Although I'm going to see them all soon in a very special event that I'm not supposed to talk about and I'm excited. I have an announcement coming soon about a project that I will be doing that might have me here in New York a little bit more. I just have lots of projects that I'm focused on and thrilled about."

The day before, Washington was stunning in a custom bronze sequined Ralph Lauren Collection gown at the Met Gala.

"I love the Met Ball because I really love museums. It's part of why I'm here tonight," Washington stressed. "One of the many amazing things that my mom passed down to me was her love of museums, and I love museums. I love growing up in New York City, where we have some of the best museums in the world. So I love the Met Gala, [where] we get to wander around the museum and see an incredible exhibit every year. It's the fanciest date night we have every year."

Meanwhile, as co-chair of the Bronx Children's Museum, Washington was shocked to find out that there wasn't a museum in her hometown.

"What is so special about the museum, it's not just to teach kids about the Bronx but it's to teach kids about themselves and [their] potential, and know [that] their mind is an incredible place," she expressed. "That they should adventure and cultivate and value. And I think the museum is about saying to kids that no matter where you're from, we care about you and you shouldn't not have a museum just because of the ZIP code that you were born in."
