Rockman.EXE Episode 46 Review.

In Battle Network universe, curry takes YOU out!

Are you gonna explain how Regal gets Dr. Wily’s robot eye gene or something?

We begin the episode with one of my least favorite characters in this season demanding curry at the restaurant of my least favorite group of villaines. Count Elec is working while complaining about Rush and wondering if the WWW will ever come back. Suddenly, his PET starts to emit a sound with a bright red screen, and we see that the rest of the WWW members also have the same problem.

They are all gathered at the Maha ichiban, with Rush still waiting for his dang curry, trying to figure out what is going on. The PETs then slowly reveal an image of Dr. Wily.

Are we forgeting already that Madoi has sleeves?

After the title card we see that all PETs are connected to a tv where they find out that it is a video recording of Dr.Wily’s will. Wily tells them about a special chip where he engraved his intellect and where to find it.

All of this as the monitor shows the mod code for HP+250 for some reason.

After hearing this the WWW members are amazed and glad that they will finally return, but a certain dog hears them and escapes to alert our heroes.

Another way to make this character useful. I honestly don’t know why they don’t even question Rush, like they already know who he is and what he can do.

We cut to Netto who is happily skating while singing Aki’s cheezy song (very badly BTW) until he is surprised by Rush who suddenly appears in his way. Rush seems to be trying to tell him something, but Netto simple can’t understand him.

Why? She speaks bitch? XD (It’s not a bad word if I’m not using it as an insult)

In the next scene we see the Ex-WWW stealing a helicopter from a local airport by drowning the employees in curry. I also want to point out that Madoi and Count Elec are wearing those weird looking hats from when they were hand gliding in episode 31.

Custom hats for their hair styles?

Madoi reminds them that Gauss might also be interested in finding Wily’s brain chip, before we see him at his company with the family picture we saw in episode 30.

Meanwhile, in Yaito’s secret tree house base, Roll somehow translates what Rush said about the Wily chip, (ignore the weird spacing in the second panel) and for some reason they all think it’s THEIR job to stop them.

Rush demonstrates once again that he can cross between worlds to show them the map to the chip, and right after this, Yaito calls them from a entirely different art style and background just so we can get Yaito’s animation of getting into her private jet Batman style.

It just looks so weird going back and forth between art styles like that. Even the shading is different!

They find the island with no signs of the Ex-WWW anywhere, until Rockman totally jinx it because it turns out they were waiting for them to fly and shoot at them!

Rockman in forth panel: “I hate to be right all the time”

It’s been a while since the WWW tried to MURDER Netto! They literally shoot at them because they knew Netto and Rockman were there!

After blasting them out of the sky, the WWW land on the island were they find a waterfall that, of course, has a jack-in point next to it. This means the waterfall is fake because it dries up once they plug-in to reveal the chip.

Just plug-in, play Wily’s video and no more waterfall. Before they can take the chip though, one of Yaito’s drill cars bursts out of the ground. Yaito, Dekao and Tohru attempt to runaway with the chip only for the drill to stop working leaving them stuck there. Meanwhile, Netto is driving underground in a second drill car.

“Girl please, who’s the main character here? I can find the plot with my eyes closed.”

The loser squad try to defend the chip, in a very poorly way because Mahajarama ends up picking it up easily after Madoi drops it. Hinouken celebrates, but they are all interrupted by a blimp from Gauss that suddenly arrives before cutting to commercials.

We return from commercials with Gauss blasting the WWW helicopter with a laser from his airship.

Yeap, that happend.

Gauss reveals himself and immediately proceeds to insult Madoi.

I like how the camera switches to Madoi dissapearing and then going back to Gauss getting slapped by her. This is officially the second time Madoi slaps him.

Gauss reveals that he is interested in collecting Wily’s chip for his fan girl collection before Netto and Meiru finally burst out of the ground behind the blimp. Gauss then reveals a vital piece of information to eveyone.

Whaaaaa... I’m just kidding, we already knew that.

Turns out Gauss changed the family name to Magnets after their mother died and considers the Count a failure. He offers to take him back on his blimp in return for him handing over the Wily chip. The Count accepts shocking everyone, except for Mahajarama who has fate in him.

Then Meiru comes running at Yaito and the others telling them that Netto is on that ship too.

“Main character!”

Inside the airship, the Count refuses to hand over the chip and challenges Gauss to a Net Battle, but not just any Netbattle, one with the same rules used in his battle against Rockman back in episode 30.

Were the subs done by the same guys from episode 38? WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?!

Gauss accepts and we then see Netto hiding in a closet where Rockman tells him that he will disable the security so he can sneak around. The electric battle begins with Elecman and Magnetman rushing at eachother as we then cut to Rockman taking out the security Navis with his cutted buster shot.

I’m liking the lighting effects used in this episode.

Elecman attacks Magnetman with his Elec Sword, but the magnetic Navi blows him away. Magnetman attacks with his Mag balls, Elecman tries to avoid them but one of them eventually touches him causing the Count to get shocked by the battle machine.

So gay.

Anyway, the Count shuts him up after he sends a lightning rod to Elecman to protect him from Magnetman’s attacks and returning the damage to him.

That’s not a real chip, but I don’t care.

Gauss gets angry and Magnetman manhandles Elecman.

This battle is intense! I am personally rooting for Elecman and the Count. I don’t have anything against gay people, I just happen to dislike Gauss, and his Navi Magnetman is very vicious. You can see how Elecman struggles in the battle just for the Count. That is Navi loyalty at its finest!

Meanwhile, we go back to the island where one of Yaito’s maids tells her that their rescue crew has arrived, they can now go get Netto from Gauss’s blimp. Speacking of Netto, we cut to Rockman now in the Heat Guts style burning more security Navis to disable what I guess is a motion sensor.

I think this is the first time we see burn marks left by the Heat Guts attack, it is suppouse to be a flamethrower after all.

Back to the battle, Elecman and Magnetman launch their attacks at the same time. The collission of their attacks for some reason means that both Gauss and the Count get electricuted. During this, a spark runs wild and starts a tiny fire somewhere in the blimp.

Netto finally arrives at the room where they are having their Net Battle and spots Wily’s chip in front of their family picture.

Just wanted to brag my good timing with this shot where Netto sees the Count before hiding.

Magnetman and Elecman are both tired, the fire in the airship starts to expand, the Navis decide to take the other one down with their fists resulting in a double log-out and both operators getting electricuted and falling over.

On the floor, they both talk about the past. Gauss even admits that their mother and him were worried about the Count before she passed away.

This tender conversation is interrupted by an explotion caused by the growing fire, but there is another surprise for them, Netto attempting to sneak away with the Wily chip behind their backs.

You know, Netto, you could’ve taken advantage of the explotion to run away without them realizing it.

Netto runs away and plugs out Rockman who was still burning security Navis in the cyberworld with Gauss and Count Elec right behind him.

Rockman deleting the security might have weakend the airships emergency protocals in case of a fire...Wooops. Either that or Gauss’s blimp was poorly designed.

Netto tries to escape from them by running to the roof only to be stopped by the fire.

.........

Only in the original version can you find an openly gay Gauss.

Netto threatens them by throwing the chip overboard, but another explotion causes him to lose balance.

The villains saved the hero?

Of course they did it because they thought he still had the chip. Luckily for Netto, he grabs on to a lose part of the blimp slowly tearing its side and leaving him hanging from it.

Gauss and Count Elec once again start to fight over the chip, and once again an explotion occures making them fall over with the chip sliding pass between them and finally falling off the ship.

LOL, there goes Wily’s brain.

The blimp is slowly falling with Netto getting closer to the water until something saves him from drowning or freezing to death.

Oh no, its the return of the Yaito Mako!

Netto is saved and the blimp ends up crashing into an iceberg while our heroes just watch the bad guys die.

Oh the Elec-Manity! Or Magnet-Manity? o-o

After this we see the Ex-WWW on a boat in front of the iceberg believing that their dear friend died. Of course this isn’t the case because the camera quickly shifts to the Count and Gauss bickering on a block of ice, ending the episode with both of them sneezing.

What do I think?

The beginning was pretty dumb. Netto and friends just trying to stop the Ex-WWW like it was their responsability. I mean, granted, Rockman is the hero that stops their evil plans, but they never got directly involve before. Fighting against the WWW Navis was because they were causing problems to them and the rest of the city, but their operators don’t stand a chance against a group of adults in real life. The cyberworld is where Rockman is superior and is able to stop them, that’s the Battle Network formula, giving kids an advantage over adults.

The best and most important part of the episode was the revelation of Gauss and Count Elec being brothers and the Net Battle between their Navis. If you saw the anime before playing the games like me, this was something we were waiting for after seeing the Count’s family picture in episode 30. The game was pretty vague about this, how were we suppoused to know that the Cout’s real name was Jack? They are never seen interacting with eachother in the games, Gauss’s introduction was the only time where this was mentioned. During the plane hijacking in BN2, Gauss reveals that he came from a very poor family and that his brother Jack was taken in by a wealthy family, making him bitter towards humanity and the reason why he joins Gospel. Here, they both come from a rich family but chose different paths, specially since the Count ran away from home a long time ago.

The reason why there was a mod code in Wily’s video was part of their publicity for BN3, by adding secret codes for the game in the anime. It is very plausible that we will see more secret codes hiding in some of the future episode.

“So the doc said I have ____ Seizures. What does that actually mean?” An Updated Cheat Sheet

So you’ve been diagnosed with epilepsy. Great… what does that even mean?

“Epilepsy is a seizure disorder,” meaning you’re brain is more likely to send off mixed signals, than the next guy. But that’s alright, ‘cause I’m going to lay down the basics of what you need to know. Lol.

First, let’s get this straight: everyone is capable of having a seizure. You stick lil’ Timmy infront of a high speed strobe for long enough, sooner or later his brain will say “What the hell am I looking at? I can’t keep up!” And he’ll wind up on the floor.

Folks who have Epilepsy, like you and I, are no different. We see things, hear things, feel, and taste, just like any other human being. Okay? What I’m trying to get at here is you are not a freak of nature. You are not a mutant. Sadly, no, you do not have special powers to set objects aflame. (I know. That bummed me out too.) No! Instead, you’re just a normal dudelet - just chillin with the rest of the human race.

But what does makes us different, is that we have a lower seizure tolerance than most. That’s it. I know right? When you say it like that, it doesn’t sound like a big deal. That’s cause it isn’t. What is a big deal, are the seizures themselves, which I’ll get to in a hot minute.

So what IS a seizure? Great question. “… a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain,” says The Epilepsy Foundation (epilepsy.com). Another, but equally scientific, definition describes it as, “the workers in your brain going, ‘What the actual fuck are we dealing with here?’ And proceeding to lose their shit,”

Pretty much, something - be it lights, lack of sleep, stress, booze, high pitched beeping, the sight of toast, whatever - will set off this seizure. This is called a Trigger. Triggers are things that our brains don’t generally enjoy. They tend to me things that could give a person headaches, or migraines; or make you feel out of sorts if you have to deal with them for too long. It is possible for some to “delay” a seizure, or even stave it off completely. Not everyone can do this though. I know someone who’s been able to prevent her seizures by sleeping with a foot on the floor. I (sometimes) can push one off if I feel one coming on, by either her being physically active or focusing on something solid, to remind myself im not floating away. But as I said, not everyone can do it. It depends on what type of seizures you have, and how in tune you are with your body. I only figured out my method after years of experimenting.

Anyway, so we got the basics. Back to….

Seizures! There are two major categories from which we have a variety of flavors.

There’s Focal and Generalized. The main difference between the two is how they start. Easy enough, right? (I’ve heard tell of a third classification “Unknown Onset”, but we’ll get into that later)

First we have Focal Onset: Focal seizures happen in specific parts of the brain - Sort of like a controlled mob.

Focal Onset Aware (aka Simple Partial): Im gonna be frank with you here. There are like a million types of Simple Partial Seizures. I probably won’t hit every kind, and I apologize if I’ve skipped someone out there. Ya know. My bad. Nonetheless I’ll do my best.

Simple Partials are pretty cool is that you are awake for them. Oh yeah. That’s right. You can have a seizure and be totally cognizant. These are the ones many refer to as “Auras”. Yeah, you know that “warning” you get before blacking out? That my friend is most likely a simple partial seizure. They’re like little seizures. Aw cute, right. No! They’re a pain in the ass! (Ehem. Apologies) anyway, as I said before, they can come in a whole bunch of types. To save time, I’m just going to give you a list of the effects:

Some people experience Deja Vu, out of body experiences, weird tastes in your mouth, (there’s emotional/psychological kinds) that’s make you have intense sorrow, or a sense of impending doom, others make you randomly filled with a god-like rage.

Others make your hands, fingers, toes, legs, etc twitch.

Some make it IMPOSSIBLE to find the right words/understand words/even read, and you suddenly feel illiterate and as if English is your second language despite being brought up in the US. (I’m not emotionally invested or anything).

Honestly, for these, you really should look it up yourself. I’ll be doing a separate post just for them, but nonetheless. It’s too important, and it’s one that truly is unique to the person.

Focal Onset Unaware (aka Complex Partial):

These are like simple partial seizures, but you’re NOT awake. Apparently many experience lip smacking during it. I wouldn’t know, because I’m out for the count. The one thing I do know is they can go into Generalized Seizures. This is not common however, that’s just the case for me.

MOVING RIGHT ALONG

Next we have Generalized: “Generalized” Seizure are seizures that effect both sides of your brain. *Imagine a stray cluster of teenage neurons are having a house party, and EVERYONE shows up.*. [Neurons are the little electric dudes that’s race around your head and make everything work/tell different parts of your brain what’s going on]

Tonic-Clonic (Motor): This is the big nasty one that people believe all seizures look like. The person loses consciousness, and convulses (shakes).

What It’s Like: They don’t hurt while it happens; but I’ll be honest with you, it can feel like you’ve been hit by a bus coming out of it. Basically, you’ve been clenching up and releasing muscles you didn’t even know you had over and over really really quickly. It’s like being super out of shape, and then made to do a triathlon athlete’s complete workout circuit in 2-5 minutes. At a weird angle, so you probably get dinged up along the way. So yeah. I’d describe it as waking up to limp noodles for tendons and joints, and fiery rocks for muscles. It’s sorta like how you’d imagine the hero of an action film would ACTUALLY feel like if the scenario were real.

Absence: these are super quick, but can happen MANY many times a day. They’re so quick that they’re almost impossible to notice. You stare for a few seconds, and snap out of it. I know, not very scary. What sucks is that you can lose time with them. So one second you’ll be lovin life, and suddenly, black, you forgot what you were saying, and a whole bunch of things that happened recently. This all comes back though, eventually.

Clonic Seizures: Unlike Tonic Clonic, these big and nasties happen while you’re awake. (Fun fact: Tonic is the part of the seizure where you stiffen and fall unconscious. Clonic is where you convulse). So needless to say, these can hurt. Actually, they do hurt. A lot. I’ve only had a couple in my time, thankfully, but it feels like everything’s described earlier for Tonic-Clonics, except you are wide awake the entire time to enjoy every bump, scratch, and uncontrolled spasm. Oh, and it feels like there are electric shocks going through you. At least it did for me. These tend to last a few minutes.

Tonic Seizures: these tend to happen in your sleep, but they don’t have to necessarily. The muscles in your legs, arms, or abdomen tense up for about 20 seconds. It’s relatively harmless, but can mean for some serious loss of balance if it happens while standing up. (Also they’re just a pain, and can wear you out, honestly)

Atonic: These I’ll admit, can be spooky. Basically your muscles go limp for about 15 seconds at a time. So you might now be able to hold your head up; or suddenly you drop everything cause your arms go out. It’s not fun. It’s actually less than 15 seconds, but some people can have a bunch of these in a row. If its bad enough, some may consider wearing a helmet, if a fall hazard arises.

Myoclonic: Muscles will jerk as it electricuted. Apparently these seizures can start in the same part of the brain as Atonic, and many who have one have been known to experience the other.

apons "and" you say The old man looks at you and then turns to the door He opens it, revealing a large room with several tables filled with various foodstuffs and other items of interest There are also several men standing around in various uniforms who look up as he enters Quick aim vs slow aim You quickly take out one of them with your shotgun, but the others fire back You duck behind cover and wait for more to come As they continue firing upon each other, you realize that this is going to be very difficult The soldiers seem to have some sort of laser sight on their rifles, so you're not sure if you'll even hit anything with your shotgun ; (which isn't exactly accurate anyway) Heavy blowgun- best gun in the game The soldiers clearly rely on theirs a great deal, you should be better than them You silently curse your reliance on weapons in the first place Regardless, now isn't the time to think Time to act You pull out your heavy bumblebee nest pistol and leap out from behind the counter, aiming at the nearest soldier and squeezing off a shot Throw a fence pole like a spear You grab a nearby fencepost and hurl it at the soldier You hit him and knock his laser sight off target long enough to allow you to kill him this has alerted the remaining soldiers of your position and now they are all firing at you Throw a fence pole like a spear Golf ball - sweet spot You pick up the nearest object, a glass bottle of some sort of violet liquid and swing it at the bottles along the top shelves, knocking them over and making quite a loud noise The soldiers are distracted by this, allowing you to rush at them and get close enough to kill them all with your shotgun Golf ball - sweet spot Fence post - slow and easy to read The soldiers, upon hearing the clamor of falling glass turn towards it and away from you You rush in and kill the soldier nearest you with your shotgun Pepper spray - temporary blindess for humans, big distraction for low brain capability mutants You decide to implement your plan by drawing on your old faithful, pepper spray Fence post - slow and easy to read Spear - hunting gear You pick up your trusty spear which has served you well on many an adventure You carefully sneak through the underbrush towards the source of the noise It's very dense so it takes some time, but you hear loud crashing nearby and proceed in that direction You find one of the villagers stumble out the underbrush on the other side of a fallen tree It looks like he's been hurt, probably from whatever creature made that first noise Spear - hunting gear Lance - good to keep wildlife away You decide that you need to arm yourself if you're going to protect the others from any more big animals, or kill it if necessary Slingshot - ammo is tasty frogs You already have your trusty slingshot, with its lone projectile ready to be speed towards an opponent's eye at a moments notice Lance - good to keep wildlife away Long lance - disarm and control your enemies from afar You pick up the long lance strapped to the side of the fallen tree You had used it when hunting large prey a few times during your stay at this village Man these things get REALLY destructive with this! You grab a large piece of scrap metal Lever action - High force, low damage; Slow reload You quickly grab a lever action rifle from one of the many gun stores in town Long lance - disarm and control your enemies from afar Spirit blade - sharp and powerful; melts into your hand You find a spirit sword in the wreckage of the shops, its blade pulsating and humming despite being embedded into a wall You draw on your ability to melt through things with your mind and pull it free, continuing to boost its speed and cutting power until its weight and momentum serve to keep it humming through the air without effort on your part Spirit blade - sharp and powerful; Fire blade - Fire based sword no metal, but not durable You pick up a burning piece of wood from a nearby charred table, and begin to choke up on it as if it were a baseball bat, warming up your swing in the hopes of a good placement into the brain pan of any opponent you may face Fire blade - Fire based sword no metal, Great sword - Powerful, heavy You pick up one of the many large swords laying about on the floor and heft it It's definitely unwieldy, but with enough strength behind it, it'll do some real damage A glancing blow would crush a head, a direct hit would slice through bone and organs You pick up a long knife from the wreckage Great sword - Powerful, Dual blades - high difficulty in aiming - Higher chance of cutting enemies You pick up another knife and take it in your off hand With your enemies so close together, you'd need to learn a whole new style to use these effectively They're too delicate and high- priced for you to just practice by throwing them at prey they're sharp, and good for trapping under hard circumstances Dual blades - high difficulty in aiming - Higher chance of cutting enemies Saws Boomstick-so you like explosions-- most predators know something you don't You grab an old shotgun from the wreckage and glance it over It might be useful, but most of all, the shells are easy to reload And The ammo is easy to come by--as long as it isn't fire, a few shotgun shells can dispatch even the largest beast you'd meet in the western realms You pick up some shells and slide them into your side pouches Boomstick-so you like explosions--most predators know something you don't All your opponents will endure a glorifed explosize demise You take a few packs of the mini-sticks of dynamite laying around and slide them into your pouches as well They're more useful as bombs than for their intended purpose, but you rely on explosions C4 motherfucker firecracker bomb ; (light the wick then get the hell outta there) Tomahawks Throwing knives-higher accuracy but shorter range There are more, but they all link back to the same ones Elemental--more situational- greater damage potential but extremely inconvenient to carry around Elemental--more situational- greater damage potential but extremely inconvenient to carry around If match alligators elemental weakness --may be able to utilizing to an extent You put off your decisions and concentrate on surviving the now, focusing on any ability that will allow you get out of this situation After searching for anything worthwhile, you find an old tattered backpack and begin putting a few objects inside it Although you don? t expect anyone else will, you realize a GPS would? ve been very useful right about now If match alligators elemental weakness--may be able to utilizing to an extent Foundmental--great for general use -limited on power Source You finish up and put away the backpack, hitting yourself in the head once or twice for losing focus so quickly and easily As you turn to walk away, you hear a low rumbling You pause It could be anything--a large dog, a asphalt truck--but your instincts are screaming at you, and years of relying on them have taught you to never ignore their warnings Foundmental--great for general use-limited on power Source Deal large amount of impact damage box-crusher--breaks through most Defenses The rumbling seems to be coming from behind the stage Slowly creeping up to it, you prepare yourself for anything what is wrong with you today? First you freeze up at the museum and now you're lurking around a corner, hoping to get jumped by some-- You blink as you watch a motorcycle reverse itself out of a previously unused parking area A figure in dark leathers and a helmet sits on it Boom-boomstick --guns, lots of guns You are gifted with a clear shot at the rider and you don? t intend on missing You slowly exhale as your finger applies pressure on the trigger-- Arrows--sharp and pointy enough to go through Plasteel Before you can fire you are knocked clean off your feet by an explosion A single bead of sweat falls from your forehead as you aim for his back, double checking for any potential explosives on thecycle Boom-boomstick--guns, Secondary button appears which lets you send off a intail charge of fire gas, or electricution As you fall, you struggle to maintain consciousness Everything seems far away as you watch a figure creep up on the unsuspecting biker Bodies--lifeless and mindschooled--are no match against your opponent of course, but you? re just glad that it isn? t you Secondary button appears which lets you send off a intail charge of fire, Globhammer --Fun for the whole family Yank! You watch in horror as a young girl barely older than fourteen yanks the biker off his bike by his leg She's clad in rags and stinkso foul you can smell her from where you're lying Does she really think she can-- Before you realize what's happening, the last thing you see is the biker flying upside down straight toward your head Globhammer--Fun for the whole family Slow clumsy mess es up the joint work "Meliodas! " you spit Rebound--Off The Rim! Slow clumsy messes up the joint work Sheer simpicility and brute strength- make the monster see stars You scramble up trying to avoid the incoming teenager but fail, as you inability to move quickly due to weight and the force with which you were launched towards hits proves too great a failure You feel your head smashing into the cold concrete--then blackness Delivery jam Metal prongs inside handheld captureannon bolts out holding chamber commonly used by law enforcement and military forces When you wake up, you're surprised to find yourself still alive despite the great pain wracking your entire body Your arms, your legs, even your face all throb in horrible sensations which you've never felt before Even your eyes hurt! As you groan, several other figures appear Their ragged clothing and pale bodies make them appear almost undead as they loom over you Bee drone --quiet, flies silently "He's alive! " one hisses You grunt in acknowledgement, still agonizing over your various wounds "Don't kill him! Captain Todd said we need to take him back alive! Feeling hands take you by the arms and legs, you squeak out in terror as they lift you into the air Your mumbling and whimperings do not go unheard "Shut him up!
