I’ve started trying to work on A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T again. I’ve done some major overhauls of the characters, have a good idea for the plot of the first story, and a vague idea for the overall plot.

I’ll try and post a more detailed update once I’ve written it down in a way that’s good to read 💜

As of today A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T will be shifting into an original story. This is due to two factors. Like many others I don’t want anything to with JK Rowling, and I am losing interest in the HP universe.

I’m still very much invested in my friends stories, but on it’s own I’m just not interested in the original source anymore. I’ve been having such a hard time continuing A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T in it’s current state, and I think doing this will give me more freedom to tell more interesting stories.

A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T will have a tone that is much closer to something like The Owl House. I’ll be spending the next couple of days marking current A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T content as discontinued and finding ways to incorporate my characters into their new stories.

So get ready for Hari, Diana and Tilly in a new form!

Familiars in A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T

When Mages form connections with Thonnt it can become a familiar. A familiar often takes on the form of an animal that makes their mage happy. Sometimes their favorite animal or even one similar to a childhood pet. 

Familiars have no set gender and don’t need to eat, drink, etc.

Wonders in A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T

In A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T, many people across the world are given the ability to perform ‘Wonders’ by Thonnt Trees. This was dubbed thaumaturgy during the early 20th century. Someone who is a practitioner of thaumaturgy is called a "thaumaturge", "miracle worker" or even “mage” for short.

The are 8 types thaumaturgy that are referred to ‘Wonders” for short. 

(Please note this isn’t how it works all over the world. The info provided is related to a lot of places in the west).

The study/practice of living Thonnt Powder. In other words the study of living things and how to give life. This wonder allows to shift souls and even put them in different vessels. Animancy can also be used for healing. It is believed to be the opposite to Necromancy. 

The study/practice of dead Thonnt Powder. This Wonder is a little more complicated than Animancy. When a mage dies the Thonnt Powder associated with them becomes unstable. It takes on ghost like forms that either look like the passed on mage or their familiar.  It is believed that this wonder can bring people back from the dead. This is not the case, and the best thing you will get in unhinged look alike.

The study/practice of using Thonnt Powder to trick others into seeing what’s not really there. It causes people to see, hear, smell things which do not actually exist. Some people prefer this to Transfiguration. Finding it easier to cast the Wonders.

The study/practice of using Thonnt Powder to physically change something. When transforming something it has to be the same size due to the powder shifting the targets’ matter. Not making it grow or shrink.

The study/practice of using Thonnt Powder to make inanimate objects move in a way they shouldn’t, like making them fly or hop around. This Wonder creates a working relationship between the practitioner and the enchanted object. Enchantment does not work on living things.

The study/practice of using Thonnt Powder to see events from the past, interpret dreams, predict the future by touching objects. Due to the ever changing nature of the future practicers often only see the most likey events to happen. 

The study/practice of using Thonnt Powder to talk to creatures around them for aid. In other words, it lets the user speak and ask for help from things that can’t normally talk like animals or trees. Mages who practice invocation have a harder time resisting Illusions.

The study/practice of using Thonnt Powder to transport the users or items over great distances. Mages can use this Wonder to teleport objects to them, but only if the mage knows where the item is.

Concepts in A.L.C.H.E.M.I.S.T

An Underwater City is the main stage for most of the events in the story. It was founded by Mages nearly 100 years ago. 

One of the three schools that located in Ailibi. Children with potential to perform thaumaturgy (aged 13 to 18) must attend at least one of the three schools. 

Trees that grow from Ailibi to all over the world. They create portals that allow people on the surface to travel to Ailibi instantly. 

Hard to see particles that give people the ability to do thaumaturgy. 

A sport played by Mages that is a kind of cross between human hockey and lacrosse with a bit of wonder flare.
