Number 4 image from my sale of six (6!) images to CapitalOne Financial for their new business campus in Plano, Texas. Titled "Moment of Learning", it's creation engaged photographic tools, but is not a photograph in the traditional sense. With this process, I hope to provoke in the viewer a questioning of how we see, perceive, and divine the truth of that perception. Upon exiting an exhibition at the Kimbell Art Museum (Gustave Caillebotte: The Painter's Eye, in the Renzo Piano Pavilion) my wife gave me the nudge, nudge - less the wink-wink - and this is what we saw. Inspired by my memories of art from Frank Stella and Piet Mondrian, this photo abstraction for a #tbthursday - this comes from a Shell gas station near TCU where the architectural forms assembled in my camera one sunny spring day. The station was razed for a small branch store of Chase Bank.
