Just to let you know, I was also a huge fan of A Couple Days In, but in my opinion, it totally works as a two-parter.

I think I remember you said at the time that you weren’t sure how to end it without it being too similar to the film (apologies if I’m misremembering), and I completely get that. But for me, I think the story already achieved so much by showing how important communication is in the bedroom.

A lot of explicit fics feature sex that goes off without a hitch and ends in multiple mind-blowing orgasms. And I love fan fiction for that, because that fantasy is part of the appeal and it’s great to have female pleasure prioritised when it’s so rarely prioritised elsewhere. So I’m not disrespecting that kind of smut. I love it 😂

But ACDI also holds a lot of value for me because it’s SO relatable. I’ve never had a first time with a boy that’s gone down like the first times depicted in a lot of fics. I’ve never had my lust barely concealed as hatred boil over into a night of five orgasms (I wish 😂). And fics like ACDI remind me that a lot of the time, it does take a few attempts to find your groove with a new partner, and it’s not just me.

And the fic has already achieved that with two parts. It was relatable but also optimistic. Maybe they end up together, maybe Reader just takes the confidence boost and the tips and goes on her merry way when the snow clears? Either way, the character is in a better place than when she started, so in my opinion, you haven’t left anything unresolved. People can just pick the ending that feels most relatable to them (in their minds, not in ChatGBT).

So I really hope the AI anon hasn’t spooked you into thinking you have to force yourself into finishing fics you’re not currently feeling just so they don’t get ripped off. The fic is great already. You don’t owe anyone anything!
