Two more matches this weekend, fished the open at Acorn on Saturday, another lovely day catching roach, tench, perch and skimmers plus some carp for 39lb 8oz, won the section and was second in the silvers, just behind Tom Thick, love a bit of double bubble. Sunday we were at Dillington and I had two big skimmers, a decent perch plus 3lb of bits to finish second with 9lb 2oz. Thanks to Neil Dopson for the photos. Another double header this weekend and two lovely days, fished Acorn Fishery on Saturday and had an awesome day catching tench, perch, skimmers and quality roach for 20lb 10oz plus 26lb for a cheeky default section win. Sunday it was back to Summerhayes where it was on Longs I drew peg 12 which is a great area and caught skimmers, roach plus a perch and a bonus 2lb eel to win the silvers with 12lb 5oz. Sunday it was back to Summerhayes where it was on Sellicks, I got drawn peg 20 which was also the golden peg, it’s fished hard for most and my 8lb 4oz of skimmers and quality roach was enough to win the silvers and take home a bumper payday. I’ve been wanting to fish Acorn Fishery for a while now so when I saw it was the Charlie Barnes memorial silvers match, I booked in. A good turnout of 26 anglers and despite it being bitterly cold, some decent weights were recorded. I caught a big perch plus skimmers, roach and tench for 11lb 4oz and second place behind Martin Rayet who had 13lb.
