Sakaken has been a top actor since time ago, before Okairi mone, Okairi mone is his second Asadora,in the first he didn't have love line with the heroine and yes suganami sensei is the most popular, Takashi kun comes after him since Hio Asadora wasnt liked by most people It was a waste for him😮‍💨 bc people complained a lot about the heroine and the set up so this affected his role,so Takashi comes after suganami sensei , Takashi was selected as #1 choosed as favorite role in the first half of Maiagare, over meme role (tho he's a super popular idol but his role kashiwagi wasn't well received by the audience😅) currently the second half has just begin, the heroine just broke up with her boyfriend (kashiwagi) so the possibilities of Takashi to become her future partner are more strong now the second half started ,also if they become a thing most Asadoras fans will be happy since is the favorite ship😂
Oooooooooooohhh, I didn't know how Miyazawa fared in Japan, so interesting! Yeah, I couldn't watch Chimudondon, obviously, without subs, but it didn't seem like Twitter was watching it either, so I didn't really follow it. Whereas, you are right -- people are really watching Maiagare, and I felt like Okaeri Mone itself was a small zeitgeist as it marked the 10-year anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake. We are so lucky that Okaeri Mone got subbed. (If anyone out there is reading these exchanges and wondering about Okaeri Mone, I would call it a MUST WATCH, even though an asadora is a time investment -- it was a very important show about the aftermath of the earthquake in Japan, and Kiyohara Kaya was SPLENDID.)
I didn't know that that was Sakaguchi's second asadora! I should really dive into his work. I just saw a couple gifsets of Hell Dogs yesterday and it looks interesting, so I may pick it up if I can find it. Suganami-sensei -- swoon. Great memories. He was so fabulous in that, and he and Kiyohara just had wonderful chemistry. Ugh, Okaeri Mone was so great!
Also, OOOOHHH, didn't realize that Meguro's character wasn't well received, ha. That's a tall order for Meguro, since his role in Silent was so popular, right? His work in Silent was beautiful!

Finished Josee, The Tiger and The Fish and this hits me on a personal level. Not wheelchair bound but the feelings of being stuck in your own little world coz of your own fears and having to deal with the frustrations of falling short on reaching your goals, and the desire to chase things that looks impossible. There's a lot things to reflect in this story of chasing dreams, finding inspirations and healing fueled by love and determination. Plus voice actors Kaya Kiyohara and Taishi Nakagawa nailed their roles with splendid acting. And studio Bones never fail to deliver the magic and feels even once.

FAN REPORT 「 online talk 」
It's my first time watching a live talk show from a university festival. I'm glad that it was live streamed on youtube although there are no archives for both guestings so as much as I want to write down notes from the talk show, I'm only writing a few. 30th of October - Ohtori Matsuri Talk Show guest: Isomura Hayato
Tumblr media
Saturday is one of the busiest day of the week for me so, I wasn't able to watch the stream from the very beginning. I wasn't able to take down notes too since it was so damn noisy on a saturday. For the questions and trouble consultation, there is a box in front of him wherein he randomly choose questions to answer. I just remembered that someone asked about an episode with Kitamura Takumi since the person who asked is a fan of Kitamura Takumi, I don't remember his answer though since as I mentioned, I wasn't able to take down notes. I do remember one question though... Q: what do you do on your day off? A: on my day off? I play games with my friends and go to the sauna. I also go running and cycling around town. 31st of October - Online TUT Matsuri in Kamata guest: Hyodo Katsumi
Tumblr media
This is a memorable event for Katsumi himself since it was his first time being invited in a university talk show. Of course, I tuned in to witness such an event in his life. Lol. I can feel that genuine happiness from him on that day, he was all smiling and laughing mostly throughout the show -- HE IS JUST THE CUTEST!!!! >w< For the questions and messages, the MC holds a paper so it seemed that everything was pre-selected by the staff. Some of the questions that I remember are: Q: what is the hardest role that you have portrayed A: the hardest, huh? it's the sentai because you have to do lots of action plus the shooting took for about a year so it's really tough Q: the actor/s that you get along well A: I do get along well with my co-actors from ryusoulger. apart from them, I also do get along well with Ito Asahi. we have went to eat out for meals along with Hama Shogo. Q: are you half taiwanese (or chinese) A: ehhh? is that a question? *laughs* MC: yes, it's a question that was asked in here, are you half? A: *laughs* yes, I am note: Katsumi was laughing A LOT with this question so I am not sure if I do heard it as "taiwanese" or "chinese" correctly. Q: what are your hobbies? A: I like cooking because I love to eat vegetables. recently I have been cooking quite a lot on my free time. Q: a movie that you have watched recently A: it's a movie of Kiyohara Kaya and Narita Ryo on netflix (Matomo Janai no wa Kimi mo Issho) Q: favorite sweets A: I like gummies There's also a letter that was read, the sender was a father and he said that his son wanted to be a hero. He thanked Katsumi for being an inspiration for his son because of his role in sentai. Also there's a question about disliked food wherein he replied that he doesn't like "nama tamanegi" especially when it's on a barbecue, he don't want to eat it. He was asked by the MC if maybe one day he'll consider eating it, he made a really bitter smile as he shake his head in disagreement. # End

[trans] 「なつぞら Special インタビュー」 Natsuzora Special Interview
Kiyohara Kaya as Okuhara Chiharu
Even in the shooting site I haven't met Hirose and Okada yet.
I believed in the cast and the staff, and I thought that I should let myself to go on.
Tumblr media
一It's a continuous Morning Dorama since "Asa ga Kita", but what do you think about your appearance?
I'm an actress who's made a debut in "Asa ga Kita", and it was a really big piece of works that moved my actor's life greatly. I also learned about the difficulties and enjoyment of the play, and I felt that it was very rewarding for me to create a single work with the cooperation of various people. It's such a thing, and I'm genuinely happy to be able to participate in the morning dorama again. I feel that I have to be careful in performing because I want to be able to move the story by playing the role of the heroine's younger sister, Okuhara Chiharu.
I thought that it was a role that had a big impact on Natsu (Suzu Hirose), so I wondered how I should fit into the story, but in the end, I decided to trust the cast and the staff and let myself to go on.
Those who don't know would be able to play Chiharu purely.
一Chiharu has been missed you for a long time, but have you devised a way to make a role in that regard?
I didn't dare to watch the on-air of "Natsuzora". Of course, I read the script, and I saw a few scenes of Chiharu's childhood, but I did so because I thought that those who don't know what kind of lives that Okuhara Saitaro (Masaki Okada) has been actually living and how he lives, would be able to play Chiharu purely. In addition, I haven't met Hirose and Okada in the field yet, given the consideration of the staff. Even if it was behind the scenes, I thought that if I met them, the realism of the performance would fade, so I adjusted it so that I wouldn't see both two.
一You were having a talk with Saitaro on the phone, can you tell us about your feelings during that shooting?
"Please do not shed the voice of Hirose and Okada until the actual production," I asked the staff. The staff made an environment that made it easy for me to play. Thanks to that, I was able to concentrate and perform, and I was able to feel a big sense of sadness that I want to meet. I'm grateful for the cooperation and the careful and thorough role-making.
Tumblr media
Even after the cut, there was the cast who still eating.
一How was the scene with the Shibata Family and the team?
There was a scene surrounding the dining table in the living room of the Shibata family, but even after the cut, there was a cast who was still eating, and everyone was having fun until the start of the next scene. Neither the team nor the family, I thought that it was a site with such a warm atmosphere. I also participated in it, it's like the strength and the whole hard work that the staff, as well as the cast working on this work, have been transmitted. I have also thought it's nice I was able to exist as Chiharu, so as not to interfere and so as not to lose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm wearing the same costume! (laughs)
一What is your impression of Suzu Hirose and what do you think about your role as a little sister?
The first time I met Hirose was in the movie "Chihayafuru - Kizuna" (2018). This was the third movie in the movie serialization and there was already a circle between the cast, Hirose and the cast members pulled me into the circle. I have the impression that Hirose is a reliable, powerful, and gentle sister. She gave me a consultation, and when I became an exclusive model for the same magazine as her, she sent me an e-mail that it's saying “Congratulations” I think I have to do my best to play Hirose's sister.
一There was also a scene where Chiharu wearing the same costume.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because it was the costume that Hirose wears on the poster of “Natsuzora”, and I'm wearing the same costume as her (laughs). The director, the hairstyle, and a makeup artist said, “It's nice that the sisters' hairstyles are a bit similar”, and Natsu braids it in the back, and Chiharu braids it sideways. It became a scene where a sense of the sisters was seen through the visual.
Tumblr media
Additional interview from Real Sound.
一How was the location in Hokkaido?
First of all, I was surprised by the size of the land and the number of greeneries, and I was excited because I could not see the cattle grazing in the city after all. The air was also very clean and comfortable, and I was able to face shooting while being boosted by the wonderful atmosphere of Hokkaido.

“Switched”
125.
Tumblr media
Title: “Switched” (“Sora wo Kakeru Yodaka”) Genre: Sci-Fi, School Season: Summer 2018 TV Station: Netflix Theme Song: “Aka Tsuki” by Johnny’s West Starring: Daiki Shigeoka, Tomohiro Kamiyama, Kaya Kiyohara, Miu Tomita Date Finished: September 21, 2018 My Personal Reason for Watching: The plot sounded interesting and I’ve been liking Johnny’s West recently!
Based on the manga, “Sora wo Kakeru Yodaka,” the drama revolves around four high school students. Zenko Umine (Tomita) is a girl who’s had it rough with her terrible home life and being the target of bullying at school.  Often called “ugly,” Umine decides to kill herself, but not before calling the cute and well-liked Ayumi Kohinata (Kiyohara), who witnesses Umine throwing herself off a building during a red moon.  The next day, Ayumi finds herself in Umine’s body and vice versa.  No one believes Ayumi at first, not even her boyfriend, Koshiro Mizumoto (Kamiyama). The only person who believes Ayumi is her best friend, Shunpei Kaga (Daiki Shigeoka), who is also in love with her.  Kaga and Ayumi try to find a way to get her body back from Umine.
Tumblr media
(^^ Ayumi? Is that you? XD)
With only six episodes at about 25-30 minutes each, I thought this would be an easy watch. While that was the case, I’m glad they were able to fit everything in those six episodes.  It didn’t seem too rushed at all and the pacing was fine. There was also character development, which was nice to see with the short time frame.
Regarding the characters, I do admit that Kaga deserved better.  I’m sad that Ayumi didn’t choose him and pretty much stayed with Koshiro.  While Koshiro did have his intentions, Kaga was the one that stuck with her for most of the series and loved her even when she was in Umine’s body.  He was so happy go-lucky despite the circumstances.  While he didn’t end up with the girl he loved, he won the hearts of many (mine included!)
Tumblr media
(^^ KAGA-KUN~!!!)
The whole point of the drama was not to body shame or make it seem like if you’re “ugly,” then, people won’t like you.  Umine made it that her “ugliness” on the inside protruded on to her outward appearance. With Ayumi in Umine’s body, her personality radiated from within, making her likable and popular with the student body. It is true when they say that it’s what’s on the inside that counts and that’s what the audience is supposed to take away from the drama.
Tumblr media
(^^ “We like Umine-chan now!”)
In the end, I like that Koshiro, Kaga, and Ayumi were able to accept and forgive Umine and even brought her in to their friend group.  While we are not given a choice to have the features we are born with, we can do our best to make the most of what we have.
Favorites: Favorite Character: Kaga!!! Favorite Episode: While there are only six episodes, it’s hard to choose one. But I do like the last episode that brought everything together in the end.  Favorite Scene: When they were switching with each other (which got kind of ridiculous and confusing honestly--I mean, no one is around when these high school kids are jumping off buildings at the school??), the guys had to act like the girls and the girls had to act like the guys.
Tumblr media
(^^ “Let’s agree not to hold hands when we switch back.” “Yes, agreed.”)
Drama Title Rating: Story: ✭✭✭✭ (great storyline with a clichéd body switching concept) Acting: ✭✭✭✭½ (all four main actors were great and I’m starting to like Shigeoka from Johnny’s West more and more!) Theme Song: ✭✭✭✭ (Another catchy hit from Johnny’s West!) Total: 12.5/15
Next Up: “Kazoku Game”
Tumblr media
(^^ “Let’s go eat strawberry parfaits!”)

Sangatsu no Lion Kohen special preview screening at Space FS Shiodome
The special screening event of new movie "Sangatsu no Lion Kouhen" was held on 13 April which was attended by the director Ootomo Keishi and cast members Kamiki Ryuunosuke, Kiyohara Kaya and Takahashi Issei. The movie will be shown in cinemas nationwide from 22 April.
As compared to the first movie which focused on the shogi battles, Kamiki said that the second part has the theme of love where the characters in the movie have their own personal battles to fight in their lives. He also revealed that he received many favourable reviews about the first movie from his friends and colleagues which made him very happy.
Takahashi who was appearing at a "Sangatsu no Lion" event for the first time, played a trick on the audience who had come for the screening and were surprised by the three actors hiding behind a wall to welcome them. In the movie, he had a lot of eating scenes with Kamiki which he enjoyed because they would start eating for real from the rehearsals. As Takahashi is currently very popular, Kamiki asked him during the event how he can become like Takahashi. In response, Takahashi said that Kamiki can remain the same as he is since he is such a versatile actor and can take on any role. However, Kamiki probed further about how he can exude the same kind of sexiness that Takahashi has which made the latter smile wryly and said that the point is not to be too self-conscious about it. Upon hearing this, the audience cheered and Kamiki expressed his satisfaction with this answer.

About your Akaso anon ,I agree at some extent, for most international fans he has this image of canine soft boy thanks to cm, his role in ishihane was similar aka the young clumsy boy in love with a women older than him(similar to Super rich) but rn in Japan he will be know as Takashi, Asadoras are a very powerful dramas that can change people's careers watched for a major wide audience than regular dramas,in his case his role is the weird dude that's into poetry friend of the Heroine (probably his future partner) his role is very popular in Japan, so for japanese he's Takashi & international fans he's adachi
Like you say zom100 should be give him more bost of popularity with a comic role full of action scenes so maybe the perception of international fans can change a bit, I also read he has a rumoured drama with Yamada Yuki this spring on TBS it's seems to be scfi genre.
Also I agree with you, his roles have been better than machida ones at least in terms of scope. I hope he can get different roles he has the range and talent
Omg, yes -- you are totally right about his role as Takashi in Maiagare, and I completely forgot to include it in my last answer! Takashi as a character looks WONDERFUL -- I’m glad Akaso as Takashi is getting lots of attention in Japan. The photos that the NHK Maiagare IG account posts are ultra cute.
Maiagare really has some heavy hitters; Meguro Ren from Snow Man/Silent/Kieta Hatsukoi is also in it, and I know that’s causing squees across Japan. Maiagare is getting subbed extremely slowly, so hopefully by the end of the year, we can watch the series, ha.
But yes -- I hope that Maiagare, along with Zom100, will boost Akaso’s profile and continue to help him get better roles.
One thing that I struggle to understand, if this makes sense, is how contextually popular the actors/actresses we love here on Tumblr are in Japan. Like, if I were to compare the last three male co-leads from the asadoras -- Sakaguchi Kentaro from Okaeri Mone, Miyazawa Hio from Chimudondon, and now Akaso from Maiagare (I don’t think Come Come Everybody had a huge male co-lead) -- Sakaguchi strikes me as by far the most “popular” of those three guys. Like, fame-wise, if that makes sense. Brad Pitt is far more “famous” than, say, a Chris Pratt. Sakaguchi is in big projects with big-name actresses as co-leads (like Watanabe Anne and Kiyohara Kaya). Miyazawa co-starred in a movie with Nishijima Hidetoshi last year that had huge promotion.
I don’t quite think that’s happened for Machida yet (maybe Alice in Borderland is the start of that for him?), and it’s just now happened for Akaso in Maiagare. Machida will be in Fixer on WOWOW this spring, and that has big names and three seasons already attached to it -- so that might be considered a break-out role.
Anyway, I don’t know if any of this quite makes sense, but I wonder if the “fame” level of these guys affects their roles. Compare Akaso and Machida to the Michieda Shunsuke tag on IG, and Michi’s content just overwhelms Akaso and Machida combined (but Akaso and Machida aren’t idols, either). I hope the international attention that Machida is getting in Alice in Borderland, with his cameo in season two, and what Akaso is getting in Japan with Maiagare and Zom100, will get them both better starring roles. Machida in particular really needs some good scripts, either as a lead in a dorama or in some serious movies. The guys need to pay penance for how bad Super Rich was (I’m still so pissed about that show).
I love talking about this stuff, because I love our guys, and I want to understand better how the industry sees their talent! Talking about all of this is so helpful. We were SO SPOILED by how great the writing and the acting was in Cherry Magic, that I just want to see that level of work continue.
