It's perfect because it was actually a year ago this week that I got this tattoo, on a trip home to PA. I just watched #janetjackson perform and win her image award! 🤩🙌🏾❤️ This is one of my favorite pictures of her. This pic always stood out to me because of her hair. I was Active Duty Air Force at the time and always wished I could color my hair like her. I knew I’d get into trouble so I never did. ☺️ I’m inspired to make a doll of her but have to narrow down which look. I’m thinking the Control Album cover. Which would you pick? #adwoadesign

My photo memories had me in tears this morning. Like most enthusiastic beginners who knit or crochet, I made hats and scarves for my friends and family. When I wore my wares, people would ask to buy them. That tripped me out! Then one day, @gemineye111 asked me if I sold on Etsy... “what’s Etsy?” was my response. 🤣🤣🤣 I had no idea what I was getting into but went for it. I can’t thank him enough for that moment! 🙌🏾🙏🏾 I posted a different hat and heard crickets. 👂🏾 🦗 I posted this one and got so many views and finally got an email ( I’m an OG... no Etsy App back then!) saying that my hat sold. Of all the places in the world, my first Etsy sale was in Montrouge FRANCE!!! 🇫🇷 🤯 I couldn’t believe it. I think I was in shock. I didn’t even have shipping supplies. (I think deep down I didn’t think it would sell. Don’t do this. Self doubt is brutal!) I finally got my act together and shipped it off and got my first 5 Star Review! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was on Cloud 9 and haven’t come down since. ⛅️🤩⭐️👸🏽⭐️💃🏾🙋🏾‍♀️ It still blows my mind that somewhere in France someone is wearing a hat that I made. Say what you will about Etsy, but I will always be thankful for the training wheels it provides. The customers it attracts are priceless too. 🤣🤣🤣💀 I actually do both knitting and crochet. I always laugh to myself when I do one or the other in public. Someone will start a conversation about the other. It never fails. If I’m knitting they ask me if it’s crochet and if I’m crocheting they compliment my knitting. ☺️ I love it though. Men get nostalgic about watching their mothers make for them, and some of the women ask how to do it. A great icebreaker. I guess when you see someone creating with their hands you want to say something. #adwoadesign
