He       almost runs ahead of her without warning, but she’s not      Ven; she’s not used to it.       He can’t see what she put in his hair, but he can feel the      new weight. He raises a hand and fingers brush against      what feels like feathers, and he’s puzzled as to why she’d      put a bird in his hair. Still, Terra doesn’t move it. Fingers      trace a downy back where it’s sitting, and he doesn’t want      to disturb it.
