A pregnant woman named Nasria, a 25-year-old California native, flew to Afghanistan in June to visit family and get married. As of early September, she remained one of the estimated 100 to 200 Americans left behind in the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. forces, according to a report.
Now that the U.S. military is gone, the Taliban is “hunting Americans,” she informed the Voice of America.
“I think to myself, ‘Am I going to make it home? Am I going to end up living here? Am I going to end up dying here? What’s going to happen?” Nasria, who asked to be referred to only by her first name for safety reasons, stated.
“Apparently they’re [the Taliban] going door-to-door … trying to see if anyone has a blue passport,” she stated.

Last week, U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who has been working to rescue Americans remaining in Afghanistan, stated during an appearance on Fox News that Nasria had been kicked in the stomach by Taliban fighters.
“Anyone who says there aren’t individuals stranded is wrong,” Issa stated during the broadcast.
As the country fell to the Taliban, Nasria and her husband, an Afghan national, hurried to the overcrowded and chaotic Kabul airport in an effort to evacuate.
“It was so hard to get on a flight. There were a few days where we had to sleep on streets,” she stated. “People have been actually stepping over people. That’s how bad it was.”

The situation at the airport felt surreal, she informed the publication.
“I’ve never in my life have experienced anything like this,” she stated. “It was like literally a movie scene.”

She stated the U.S. State Department informed her “You will get picked up” after the flight she booked to return to the U.S. was canceled.
She stated she and her husband tried to get to the specified location for 12 to 13 hours but the Taliban blocked them at gunpoint even as she showed them her U.S. passport.

“Our troops have been literally at the gate just waiting for us to continue walking and they had blocked us,” she stated.
At one point in frustration she walked as quick as she could past the Taliban security forces however they “started shooting right by my leg and instructed me to come back or they are going to shoot me.”
And though her husband pleaded for the Taliban to let her go without him, she refused, revealing she’s pregnant.
“My child is going to need a father and I’m going to need a husband by my side,” she stated, including that she knew once she left Afghanistan she would never return.

Despite the State Department telling her they’ll find a way to get her out of the country, she stated she’s losing hope.
“If I was only 15 steps away from the airport and I was told people are going to come out of the airport to get me, so what hope am I supposed to have now?”
The Biden administration has been widely criticized not just for the frantic withdrawal and evacuation efforts that left troops vulnerable to the bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members, but for leaving Americans behind as the last airplane left Tuesday.

The Taliban is stopping a number of flights from taking off from the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, CBS News reports.
An NGO in Afghanistan said two planes have been ready to evacuate 600 to 1,200 individuals, including 19 American citizens and two permanent residents, for the past six days while the U.S. government and Taliban continue to talk.
The White House and State Department have maintained that they hold leverage over the Taliban, which is able to make sure the group cooperates and continues to permit folks to depart Afghanistan, however a senior congressional source told CBS News that the Taliban is basically holding the planes “hostage” so they can “get more out of the Americans.”
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.), the ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, agrees. He informed Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that he is concerned that U.S. envoy Zalmay Khalilzad will come away from the talks recommending that the Biden administration acknowledge the Taliban as the legitimate government in Afghanistan. There aren’t any indications that would be the case, nonetheless.

Americans are still left stranded in Afghanistan since President Biden finalized the U.S. withdrawal however the administration doesn’t appear to care, “Hannity” host Sean Hannity argued throughout his Tuesday evening monologue.
Hannity explained that the administration has no clue how many Americans are awaiting evacuation and don’t have any concrete plan to do so. And while some Americans are trying to evacuate fellow citizens on their own, charter planes are reportedly being blocked by the U.S. State Department which refuses to grant approval for private evacuation flights as the Taliban is seemingly demanding ransom payment.
“Six charter planes from great Americans around the country… are now on the tarmac in an airport in northern Afghanistan. They’re ready to take off carrying Americans and our allies to Qatar,” he stated. “That’s insane. Not only is the Biden State Department doing nothing to rescue our fellow Americans they abandoned; now they’re reportedly obstructing private rescue missions.”
An unnamed individual involved in extraction efforts informed Fox News that any lives lost is “blood on the White House’s hands” which Hannity connected is tipping bipartisan disapproval for the president’s actions.
“That is so bad even Democratic senator, huge liberal, Richard Blumenthal is blasting the administration over their incompetence,” he stated. “Are you ok with this Ron Klain, Tony Blinken? Joe Biden, if you’re awake? Susan Rice? Is this one of the contingencies that you plan for also? Or do you simply not care that you just abandoned Americans and left them pretty much for dead?”
The president toured flood damage left in the wake of Hurricane Ida on Tuesday where he was met by protesters who carried anti-Biden signs and Trump flags. Upon acknowledging the protesters, Biden brushed them off as being ignorant, Hannity stated, and continued his speech without mention of the ongoing crisis overseas.
“We do not leave our fellow Americans behind,” Hannity said. “Donald Trump would have obliterated the Taliban if they made one wrong move… Joe Biden did nothing as the Taliban was on the march for months.”
“We do not abandon Americans in hostile foreign countries run by radical Islamic extremists,” he continued. “We do not put the lives of our fellow Americans in their hands. That’s not who we are supposed to be or who we are.”

Americans are still stranded in Afghanistan due to the actions of the Biden administration, but that’s not going to keep them from doing what Democrats value most.
Kamala Harris, who has been virtually invisible since the crisis in Afghanistan began, is going to campaign for California Governor Gavin Newsom.
That’s the Democrat priority. Hanging on to power. Not saving Americans they abandoned overseas.
Red State reports:
While Hostages are Held in Afghanistan, Kamala Harris Plans to Campaign for Gavin Newsom
As reported yesterday by my colleague Nick Arama, there is more and more confirmation that we have a hostage situation unfolding in Afghanistan, with as many as 200 (if not more) Americans that President Joe Biden abandoned being held against their will.
Dementia Joe is “vacationing” in Delaware.
But where is Vice President Kamala Harris?
The vice president has been conspicuously absent lately from coverage and appearances pertaining to the botched Afghanistan withdrawal — after having proudly claimed just four months ago to have been the “last person in the room” with Biden as he decided to fully withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
Kamala Harris’ absence is especially puzzling given the recent drop-off of confidence in the president. The generally even-keeled Mike Pence was often trotted out to take questions as head of the coronavirus task force, especially after days of the more combative commander-in-chief duking it out with the press corps. The same, however, cannot be said of this vice president.
Can someone in the Biden White House at least pretend that they care about the Americans still stranded in Afghanistan?

Taliban leaders took over control of the Kabul airport Tuesday and marked the departure of the last U.S. airplane from the country by taking a symbolic walk across the airport’s sole runway, according to a report.
“The world should have learned its lesson and that is the satisfying moment of victory,” Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, stated in a livestream video, according to the Associated Press. He spoke to reporters at the Hamid Karzai International Airport and stated Americans “couldn’t achieve their goal by military operations,” according to Al Jazeera.
Celebratory gunfire could be heard all through Kabul before daybreak, Reuters reported. A reporter from the Los Angeles Times posted video of Taliban fighters inspecting a hanger after the U.S. departure.
The AP reported that vehicles carrying the Taliban raced back and forth along the airport’s sole runway.
Before dawn broke, heavily armed Taliban fighters walked through hangars, passing a few of the seven CH-46 helicopters the State Department utilized in its evacuations before rendering them unflyable.
The U.S. Embassy in Kabul announced on its website that it suspended operations at the facility on Aug. 31, however stated it would proceed to “assist U.S. citizens and their families in Afghanistan from Doha, Qatar.”
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken took to Twitter to announce the suspension of a diplomatic presence in Kabul. He stated the U.S. will base its diplomatic operations with the country from Doha.

The USA’s 20-year military mission in Afghanistan has ended. The first clear indication that the evacuation operation had wrapped up was when the Federal Aviation Administration sent a notice declaring that Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Aiport is “now uncontrolled” (the Taliban would likely beg to differ with that evaluation) and warning that any aircraft operating into or out of the city “should use extreme caution.
”Not long after that, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the commander of U.S. Central Command, issued an official statement on the matter. He revealed that the last U.S. military aircraft carrying Maj. Gen. Chris Donahue and U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Ross Wilson aboard departed from the airport at 3:29 p.m. ET. McKenzie clarified that whereas military operations are complete, “the diplomatic mission to ensure additional U.S. residents and eligible Afghans who wish to leave continues.”And so with that, the USA is not at war in Afghanistan. Nonetheless, as several people pointed out, the conflict within the country is far from over.

Former President Donald Trump has released another statement on President Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal, this time focusing on the U.S. military equipment that was left behind and likely wound up in the hands of the Taliban.
The Biden administration ought to demand the Taliban immediately return the equipment, Trump argued, and if they refuse he proposed either using “unequivocal military force” to retrieve it or at the least bombing “the hell out of it.”
It isn’t unusual for Trump to criticize his successor, however The Washington Post‘s Dave Weigel believes the most recent statement is more notable than some others because it seems to signify a tonal shift for the potential 2024 presidential candidate, who has advocated for ending the war in Afghanistan and touted his administration’s deal with the Taliban. The Daily Beast‘s Asawin Suebsaeng, in the meantime, said it reminds him of Trump’s rhetoric about throughout the 2016 campaign when he simultaneously called for leaving Iraq and getting into to “take the oil.” The statement, Suebsaeng stated, additionally “helps explain some of [the] GOP incongruence” on Afghanistan.

President Joe Biden refused to answer questions on Sunday concerning the crisis in Afghanistan that was brought on by decisions that had been made under his leadership.
“Biden was at FEMA to address the response to Hurricane Ida, which strengthened to a Category 4 before making landfall in Louisiana earlier Sunday,” Fox News reported. “Biden has faced widespread criticism over his execution of the U.S. military withdrawal in Afghanistan and his actions during and after the collapse of Kabul, which completed the Taliban’s retaking of the country 20 years after their ouster by U.S.-led forces.”
“I’m not supposed to take any questions, but go ahead,” Biden stated at the end of his remarks.
“Mr. President, on Afghanistan–” Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Jacobs started.
“I’m not going to answer Afghanistan now,” Biden fired back.
“–can you say if there’s still an acute risk at the airport, sir?” Jacobs completed.
Biden then turned his back on Jacobs and stopped taking questions from reporters.

“This man runs at the mention of being held accountable on tough issues that he bares responsibility for,” Republican National Committee (RNC) spokesman Paris Dennard tweeted. “Joe no questions Biden.”
“Biden refuses to answer questions about the acute crisis he precipitated,” former Trump official Monica Crowley tweeted.
“I know it’s not new—but Biden’s act that he’s not the boss and somebody tells him when he can/can not take questions, is baffling,” Free Beacon editor Brent Scher tweeted.
“Why the president continues to share what his handlers tell him he can and cannot do in regards to talking to the press is profoundly (fill in the blank),” political commentator Joe Concha tweeted. “And declaring not taking questions on an ongoing crisis is beyond (fill in the blank).”
Concha added, “Worth repeating: The president’s behavior is what it is in running off the stage when asked a question he’s been told not to answer: Weak. Cowardly.”
Republican Senate candidate Sean Parnell tweeted, “Are you kidding me?! Who is running the show in America right now?! Sure as heck isn’t @JoeBiden.”
“Biden has NO CLUE what’s going on,” Rep. Ronny Jackson tweeted (R-TX). “He won’t answer any questions on Afghanistan because he CAN’T answer any questions on Afghanistan. He’s not all there mentally. Time for him to RESIGN!”
“What did he say when you asked why he’s not supposed to take any questions, and by whose order?” blogger Jim Treacher tweeted. “If you didn’t ask, why not?”
“When does a journalist ask this president who are the people who keep telling him not to take their questions?” political commentator Stephen Miller tweeted. “If you don’t want people questioning whether Joe Biden is the one in charge and capable of this office, perhaps Biden should stop appearing and acting like he isn’t the one in charge and incapable of the duties of his office.”

Dan Bongino criticized the Biden administration Saturday on “Unfiltered with Dan Bongino” for getting ready to leave Americans behind in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of U.S. troops on August 31.
DAN BONGINO: You’ve heard politicians talk. We hear them talk too much –  it’s all they do. They’re like Teddy Ruxpin – you stick a little quarter in the back of them, and they tell you a story….They are saying “that’s not who we are.” They speak about a border wall or some policy they don’t like by conservatives. You hear liberals say on a regular basis “that’s not who we are.”
Well, you know what definitely isn’t who we are? We don’t leave our people behind. Let me say that once more: We don’t leave our people behind. But the Biden administration appears to have forgotten that. Because that isn’t who we are. That’s who the Biden administration is.
The Biden administration is getting ready to leave the American people behind and is callously, by the way, setting it up to blame Americans.

Members of Congress stated Sunday evening that the Biden administration was not permitting Americans to enter the Kabul airport and leave Afghanistan, as the evacuation mission nears its end by August 31.
Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) tweeted Sunday evening that the State Department was not helping Americans attempting to evacuate.
“I’m furious!! My team has been on the telephone all day trying to get AMERICAN CITIZENS out. They’ve been just outside the airport quite a few times, however the State Department WILL NOT assist them,” he tweeted.
He added, “They’ve been beaten by the Taliban at check points and instructed to leave and come back with large sums of cash. Biden is going to get them killed! Enough!! We have [to] put someone who gives a damn in charge RIGHT NOW!”

On August 17, the White House stated there have been an estimated 11,000 Americans left in the country. The Pentagon has stated only 5,400 Americans have been evacuated, as of Saturday, leaving a discrepancy of about 4,600.
However, the State Department last week claimed there have been only about 1,500 Americans left in the nation.
Earlier on Saturday, the Pentagon claimed that Americans and Afghan Special Immigrant Visa applicants were still capable of getting into the airport, and that it would continue evacuation efforts right up until August 31.
As of 11:00 a.m. ET, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby stated:
Any U.S. passport holder that wants to get in can get in. And we’re still, if I’m wrong here, I don’t think I’m wrong, we’re still processing and getting on planes SIV applicants as well vulnerable Afghans.
He stated as to whether they’re being allowed onto the airport, “Yes, as far as I know, yes.”
Breitbart News contacted the Pentagon Saturday evening to inquire if Americans have been being turned away from the airport but didn’t receive a response immediately.
Multiple members of Congress have been partnering with private efforts and the State Department to get Americans and Afghan SIV applicants out of Afghanistan at constituents’ requests.
