Long Beach, California Home Design

When the designers went to see this house, it was already stripped to the studs and ready for a full on remodel. The clients of the talented interior designers at Three Salt Design Co. were staying on their boat in the mean time. As professionals in the banking world, the clients wanted their space to prioritize function and family, but still give the appeal of a bayside getaway with a lot of character. The designers focused on inclusive and functional millwork, sleek contemporary lines and a coastal element throughout that paid homage to the bay and the best part of Long Beach.

Actor Ed O’Neill Buys Beautiful Home on Hawaii’s Big Island

A modern family will be spending more vacation time in Hawaii now that Ed O’Neill has purchased an absolutely gorgeous home on the Big Island in the Kailua-Kona area for $6,250,000.

Overlooking the 11th fairway of the exclusive Ke’olu Golf Course, the 4,204-square-foot home has dramatic Pacific Ocean, Kohala Mountain, and Maui island views. The actor, who is married with children (two daughters), is sure to enjoy the spectacular sunsets

With four bedrooms and 4.5 baths, there’s plenty of room for the extended family. One of the bedrooms is accessed via a private garden entry, and includes a wet bar.

The open floor pan provides maximum enjoyment of the tropical outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling windows and doors allow the trade winds to flow through, and the vaulted ceilings emphasize the home’s spaciousness.

Living room

The home was built in 2008 and recently updated. The kitchen now includes granite slab countertops, two large islands, a walk-in pantry, a Wolf gas range, and two wine refrigerators (one for red, one for white).

What’s more, the house has been spruced up with African mahogany wood, vanilla travertine flooring, and textured wallpaper throughout.

Outside there are four water features, lush green lawns, an infinity pool with spa, stone-paved decking, and barbecue station.

The home is within walking distance to the Ke’olu Clubhouse, which has dining facilities, an infinity pool, and an indoor-outdoor fitness pavilion.

O’Neill, 73, is best known for playing the patriarch on the popular sitcoms “Married with Children” and “Modern Family.” He’s also in high demand as a voice actor for films and TV shows such as the “Wreck-It Ralph” franchise, “Finding Dory,” “Family Guy,” and “The Penguins of Madagascar.”

Inspired by West Indies style, the architect Stan Andrade added a porch with a detailed railing, vertical columns, ceiling fans, wood beams and awning shutters.

Front Door: Custom 2-1/4” solid Mahogany wood stain grade Dutch door.

Gutters are Copper. Notice the many beautiful architectural details this home features. I am loving the exterior X detailed railing and exposed rafter tails.

The courtyard features a water fountain that helps block noise and create ambience.

The turquoise louvered shutters were custom-designed by builder.

Please meet the homeowner’s Bernese mountain dog, Gracie and the Peekapoo, Taffy. Aren’t they adorable?

This home has a very happy vibe. In fact, I don’t think you can feel bad with coastal decor surrounding you… there’s something very light and cheerful about that.

Inside, the architect created an open that includes a large living room, dining area and kitchen that continue to a terrace and courtyard.

All furniture and decor are custom and available through the designer. I will be finding similar choices to help you to get the look – for less $.

The entry features a traditional bamboo bench with cane seat. Custom pillows add some color.

Here, the designer flanked a custom linen-upholstered English roll-arm sofa (similar here, here & here) with custom blue-hued wood end tables and a pair of accents chairs. An ebony coffee table grounds the space and complements the piano.

The designer chose an expected combination of fabrics for the many custom pillows featured in this home. Something to be inspired by!

What a dream kitchen! This one was designed with serious cooking in mind! You also will notice that the island is mostly used for storage instead of seating and I actually like that. I always prefer having my family eating at the table. I feel that we connect better that way.

Island countertop is Walnut Butcher Block.

The kitchen and breakfast room feel connected to the rest of the house but it’s not completely open.

The kitchen features ceiling beams with a custom stain to match the hardwood flooring.
