Their voice was devoid of true sympathy, although there was a twinge of something not far off from it. It was a time of tough choices and shit people, and they wouldn't pretend to envy the Traveler. Yet here they were nonetheless. "You really are too nice, taking on everyone's problems like they're your own."

Fixing everything. Humans, gods, everyone in between... they all had their ways of taking more than one could give, and the Traveler was clearly experiencing that firsthand. "But where does that leave you?" It was a loaded question, their indigo eyes visibly serious even from the distance they were maintaining. There was a very real chance she'd attack them without any real provocation, and they were ready to respond in kind—but they didn't want this to end in a fight. They were here to negotiate.

it's easy to laugh── shattered ribcages, hollow lungs── it's easy to stay silent, too. lumine looks at her &. sees / a face worn down around the edges / bloodied & broken wings, torn out of bone &. sinew &. flesh / something, something erased; a mirror in pain &. devastation &. a girl stretched too thin. he brushes his fingers against the billowing whisper of the winds &. wonders why fate has tormented them so.
