#akira's character arc of learning to find hope and open up to others is cut off and reversed so he becomes just as cynical as akechi

Murder Boyfriends AU, but Akira's initial intention is to get Akechi out of the situation he's in because he thinks if they're allies Akechi is more likely to listen to him and if he gets to know Akechi's boss and Akechi's world close up he'll have a better chance of strategizing a way out. Instead he ends up slowly being corrupted (learning Akechi's boss is Shido is a huge stepping stone toward that) and he eventually completely loses sight of his original goal and he and Akechi become unstoppable allies. Akira meets Akechi way earlier than in canon and abandons the Phantom Thieves just after Kamoshida, but they continue to target Madarame and everyone else without him, and the Phantom Thieves have to save them both.

what plans do you have for each of the characters?

uuuuhh i’ll put this under a cut and i don’t wanna go into too too much detail out of fear of spoiling some good stuff but

akira: gonna be our main character of course. auditions for the idol school in hopes of chasing his dream of being a performer of any sort. just like in any idol anime we’ll follow everyone’s journey but things will probably be centered around him

ryuji: auditioned because of his love of dancing and rap, i haven’t really thought about his arc exactly though. i def want to keep the leg injury thing but i haven’t 100% thought things out for him

ann: wanted to branch out from being a model to do more. her singing and of COURSE her acting aren’t fantastic, but her looks, dancing, and stage presence make up for it. her arc will likely be centered around her fully branching out and improving her other skills.

yusuke: similar to ann, he wanted to branch out from visual art to performance art. what i’m thinking for his arc is he finds that the two are much more different than he could have anticipated, so it’s him learning that way.

makoto: in the fic, sae is a well-known enka singer, and makoto is expected to follow in her footsteps. however, she finds she doesn’t like singing enka at all. it’s not her style. so her arc is her finding her own style

futaba: auditioned alongside akira, wanting to stay by his side and overcome her fear of crowds. i’m keeping the adopted sibling dynamic and her being a bit dependent in the au, but i want her arc to be centered around her becoming her own person.

haru: i’m kind of stuck on what i want to do with her! i’m thinking maybe she just wants to. escape the life put on her by her father as an heiress, but i can’t rlly figure out how i wanna go about it. 

goro: i have A LOT for him. he was previously a popular remember of an underground boys group, but got kicked from the group after revealing he sees them merely as rivals. he becomes an idol to prove himself to the world, and refuses to see even classmates he groups up with as anything but rivals.so his arc is him opening up and learning to make friends.

kasumi (P5R SPOILERS): auditioned to achieve her and her late younger sister’s dream of becoming idols together. that’s rlly all i have for her so far, aside from her dancing skills making her well known

shiho: auditioned to prove to herself that she can do what she sets her mind to. her arc is going to centered around her improving her confidence, but i haven’t 100% decided exactly how it’s gonna work

yuuki: similar to shiho, he is auditioning to help with his low self esteem. he’s wanted to be an idol for a long time, seeing them as amazing, inspirational people and wanting to be as much as an inspiration as they are to him. 

hifumi: i am...so stuck on hifumi but don’t want to remove her. send help

kokoro: yuuki’s little sister!! she wants to debut as a unit with yuuki, but also she needs to learn to be able to perform without him, similar to futaba, and make her own self outside  of being the cute little sister

mami: an oc i made for an rp awhile ago that i wanted to go ahead and include in the au, she is a shy girl from the country who has wanted to be an idol her whole life, and moved to tokyo to attend the atlas idol academy. she isn’t entirely confident, so her arc will be a little similar to yuuki and shiho (i actually have a unit for them, one of the first units i thought up)
