the repetitious feminisation of him only in the context of a relationship comes across more like a shallow "understanding" of relationships (I mean their understanding is heteronormative) despite the relationship he is in being a queer relationship (or maybe these people haven't actually seen a queer relationship face to face, which is kinda strange in the context of who they are shipping). This is not directed towards anyone in particular just me recognising a pattern in how a chunk of this fandom writes/thinks only in dynamics with two opposite players eg fem and mass, sub and dom, omega and alpha, twink and bear(ish), George and Dream.

and this isnt unique to this fandom, the second you have any queer pairing where there is say a height difference then immediately the shorter is always gonna be the fem, the bottom, the sub, the receiver and etc and this portrayal becomes so consistent its almost like a caricature of who the individual is and of the actual dynamic

yes exactly, thank you. I guess it's because for this fandom especially these are real ass people so they have a lot more complexity to them naturally

whenever I see asexuality talked about online (or shown in media) it's almost always coupled with aromanticism. i have never seen aromanticism talked about without asexuality

there's this thing I experience with some fics in this fandom where I read them and I understand why you're meant to like it but dream is just treated in a certain way or slightly too ooc that it activates my kill switch

Ollie, you could be nice when you wanted to, but you did not treat me well. I hope you go to therapy and actually take it seriously.

about the fem George thing, so agree. I think for me it stems from people already not recognizing your genre, as in the one you identify as, and forcing their ideals on you. It gives me the same feeling.

In a way them insisting George being she/her, almost half of the content painting him on a feminine and twinkish light, and the side eyeing from - at this point - most of golos to anyone who doesn't like it makes me feel icky and unwilling to participate in that side of fandom anymore. As you said, block and move on, so that's what I've been doing haha Don't lose hope because I am certain there's at least a few who would agree, and if we can ignore it then so can they ignore us

no I agree about the over feminizing of george. I usually would not say anything bc like let people have fun I guess but it is so weird how prominent the over feminization is likeee guys u don't need to make them a het couple

yeah but if you say that you get labeled a freak who can't handle things that are generally against ccs boundaries. Like no, it's just the singling out of george to do it. then you get refuted by people showing evidence that george doesn't mind being a princess or whatever and it's like cool, whatever, make george fem if it makes you happy, but don't make him so unrecognisable he looks like some random femboy twink rather than george but fem

and no. I'm not talking about artists who's style makes them look fem. im talking about people doing it to just him. referring to him with she/her genuinely. at that point it feels more like an oc/dream instead of dnf. to me at least it loses an aspect of their relationship

i know its controversial and i shouldnt say it but idk i was always uncomfortable with feminizing george. i dont really have any personal stake in the matter but people referring to him with she/her pronouns and drawing him in a way that was just genuinely unrecognisable to me always made me feel. weird i guess? and it sucks because obviously you're supposed to block/not follow stuff that makes you upset but 95% of the fandom here love and tote that stuff so its either suck it up and deal with seeing it or be relegated to a tiny corner. and thats so isolating the thought of it makes me want to throw up
