ꜱᴇɴᴅ 👋 ᴛᴏ ʀᴜꜰꜰʟᴇ ᴍʏ ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀ'ꜱ ʜᴀɪʀ.
@rebelliousfamily said: 👋 (from heather)
Clearly Alaire had been spending some time with Eddie with how he's fallen asleep on the couch, the front of his body hanging just a bit over the arm of the furniture. He's not even in cat form to perch there either, clearly having fallen out before he had the chance to transform. Luckily most of his body is actually on the couch; Just his arms draped over the side with head resting halfway on one arm and halfway on the arm.
As his hair is suddenly ruffled, he's startled, letting out a soft noise of surprise - one you typically hear cats make with eyes looking around to find who disturbed his sleep. Oh. It was Heather. "Hm?" He's still waking up, but wondering if she needed something and it appears that's the only way Alaire can ask right now. Until he realizes how he's been laying and situates himself into a seated position, of course. "Sorry - Was I hogging the couch? Did you need something?"

Closed starter for @tsukareta-tamashii between Alaire and Errol (Stranger Things AU).
April 10th wasn't just an ordinary day for Alaire. Errol wanted to do something special for his birthday. He wanted to get Alaire out of the house. He was stuck in the Byers' home with nowhere to go since leaving the lab he'd been confined to before. Errol thought it would be nice to take him on a day trip out in nature. Maybe go to Lover's lake and hike around the woods a bit. It would be especially beautiful now that spring was in the air and things were starting to come back to life again.
Because Errol was still nervous about meeting any of the children involved with the upside down, or their families, he called ahead to meet up with Alaire, telling him he wanted to spend the day with him. Errol waited outside, at the end of the long driveway, keeping an eye out for the other man.
Behind his back he held a wrapped present. Figuring out something to get Alaire that he would appreciate was difficult. He was still getting to know his new friend (or were they more than that now? Errol wasn't sure. After all, they had kissed. Maybe they could discuss that today), just as he was still getting to know himself. He just hoped that what he'd settled on would be something Alaire would like...

Story about the Story
Echo in Time: Winter 1307-1309 Part 1
I hope that was painful to read because it was heartbreaking to play. I have never seen a sim so far in over his head as Nash was trying to handle the farm and two kids. Nothing was staged.
This chapter features the wonderful Make a Mess mod by @flotheory. It makes raising toddlers a lot more interesting and immersive. I’ve raved about it before. Making toddlers cause constant age-appropriate trouble really makes the life stage come, um, alive.
So, Nash had to drop everything every few hours to go feed the baby. He was required to feed the chickens and milk the cow. A bunch of garden plants still had harvestables they needed for the winter. Every time he turned his back, Alair made a mess, which he had to clean up. The “chamberpot” broke and spewed water all over the outhouse, and he had to fix that and clean up. There wasn’t enough time in the day. And then, right on cue, he got sick. Gotta say, I’m pretty proud of how Symptoms for Seasons turned out. Nash was not so thrilled.
Also featured is @zoeoe-sims‘s Toddler Food Bowls. Since there was no mother to breastfeed, Alair needed solid food. Nash was already working himself to the edge of passing out every day. So I used the food bowls to feed Alair. But Nash couldn’t get into town to earn any money selling at the market, and the §25/meal hit their savings hard.
I spent a lot of time dithering about whether or not to retcon Emmaline’s death. If I ever play a challenge like this again, the foundress will get an exemption from death rolls until she’s at least into adult life stage. But I played for a while assuming the death would stand, and Nash’s story was just so intense that it made the decision for me.
So Alair and Emma are officially charmed because they’re going to have to produce enough children to make this a viable challenge. RIP Emmaline. She’s totally going to be a townie in my games from now on, though.
I’d say the current rules are a pretty good difficulty level -- this should have been almost impossible, and it was.
BTW: The idea that Nash would become religious after Emmaline died was my kid’s. I thought it was a brilliant idea, and it gives Nash’s story some real depth I think.
A few outtakes:
Since the babysitter did that useless babysitter thing, I had to send Nash home from the funeral early to feed the poor kids. Sitter had strong opinions about the diapers she failed to change.
Nash is not impressed.
(Her bodice is not the correct period. Whoops.)

Nash tucks in Alair (Napping Mat, by Arsil adapted to TS4 toddler bed by ATS3 ). The animation doesn’t sync on this action, so it had to be two pictures, and I couldn’t figure out how to use them.

Alaire Searsha Lavoire : Lullabies and Dreams Since 2000.
Alaire Miarose was born on July 21, 2000, in Jakarta, a city buzzing with life and lights. She is the youngest of two siblings, with her older sister, Rania, always looking out for her. Despite the six-year age gap, they were close, spending a lot of time together in their small home filled with laughter and music.
From a young age, Alaire showed a love for music. While other kids played with toys, she preferred holding a toy microphone, singing along to songs on the radio. Her mother, a piano teacher, noticed Alaire’s talent early on and started teaching her the basics. Little by little, Alaire learned to play simple melodies on the piano, which soon turned into beautiful tunes.
Every Sunday morning, Alaire’s family had a special ritual. They would gather in the living room, with Rania playing the guitar and their mother on the piano. Her father, though not musically inclined, always listened with joy, savoring the harmony that brought them together. It was in these moments that Alaire realized how magical music could be—it brought happiness and united them.
As Alaire grew older, her passion for music only deepened. She joined the school choir, where she found friends who supported her and opportunities to perform. Being on stage filled her with a unique energy—a mix of nerves and joy that made her want to keep singing and sharing her music with others.
At 13, Alaire started writing her own songs. In her bedroom, surrounded by posters of her favorite artists like Taylor Swift, she wrote lyrics about teenage life, first loves, friendships, and her big dreams. With Rania’s help, Alaire recorded some of these songs and uploaded them online.
Alaire’s gentle voice quickly caught attention. Her emotional style and honest lyrics resonated with many, gaining her a loyal following on social media. Despite her growing popularity, Alaire remained humble, always grateful to her family, especially her mother, who nurtured her love for music, and her sister, who was her constant support.
Alaire Miaroseis now known as a talented young singer who not only entertains with her music but also inspires others to chase their dreams. Whether performing on small stages in Jakarta or sharing her voice online, Alaire continues her journey, carrying the hope that nothing is impossible if you dare to dream and work hard. For Alaire, music is more than just notes and words—it’s her life, her hope, and the light guiding her path.
