For sure, probably not only by whitebeard. Sometimes he probably does in purpose to try to get under someone’s skin, sometimes he doesn’t have to try 🤷🏽‍♀️

Dokucha hummed happily, sipping on the milk their brother had previously handed them, kicking their feet as they sat on the railing with Thatch behind them, holding them steady as they watched the scene unfold in front of

“There he goes,” Thatch snickered, watching the fire set get thrown to sea”

“Marco, get Ace?” The child questioned, looking up at the chef

“Dontcha worry, he’ll get em; it’s good for em to get a little ol swim once in a while,” Thatch called amusedly

“Maybe next time he’ll make sure not to set our subordinate ships ablaze.”

“Ace bad” they remarked

Hello Alexa! Hope your doing well as always seems like your not lacking requests so put the other requests before my own ♡

An idea came to me last night when I failed a test for the third time- and need to redo it, when I'm sad or something bad happens I go hide in my closet with blankets and pillows, like a child- so how would the whitebeard pirates or mihawk react to child dokusha hiding when their sad? Like their because they got in trouble or isn't allowed to go with the crew on an island and instead has to stay on the ship?

As someone who had gone through a lot in their early childhood I find these stories so comforting and sweet. I often find myself only opening Tumblr to see if you've posted. Remember to take care of yourself, because someone really cares about you♡

Thatch found himself in his kitchen, preparing the next meal for his Captain. He made sure to take into account his current condition and choose the right ingredients to alleviate it.

"Hm, should I use kale or broccoli for this one?" he inquired to Izou, who had joined him earlier to escape the rowdiness of the crew as he completed maintenance in his pistols.

"I'm hardly the person you should ask Thatch."

"Kale it is," he exclaimed, beginning to chop down said vegetable, the tapping of the knife hitting the cupboard echoing around the otherwise quiet room

"Regardless, it is about time we addressed it, isn't it?" Izou spoke, pushing the lock back in his flintlock, a snap resounding across the kitchen

The chef stops chopping the kale at the comment, glancing up at his brother and letting out a sigh, putting the knife down

“I suppose so.”

“How about it, Dokucha? Want to come out and talk about it?” The sniper called out, walking around the counter to stand next to Thatch

A few beats of silence filled the room after that statement until the sound of ruffling came from one of the cabinets in the kitchen as Dokucha slowly crawled out of it, a stuffed bird held tightly in their arms

“How did you know I was here?” They mumbled, drying their teary eyes

“You usually hide here when something happens,” Thatch answered, kneeling down

"You should consider branching out," added Izou with a smile

"Would you like a hug?" Thatch offered

They nod, running into his arms, cries escaping them as he crashes into him

Thatch hummed, wrapping his arms around them and picking them up, swinging them from side to side for a few minutes until their cries lessened

"What's going on?" Izou questioned, glancing at the child, who by this point had positioned their head on Thatch's shoulder and looking back at Izou

"I wanted to go with Ace," they sniffled

"I know you do, but he had a risky mission he had to go on," Izou replies gently

"Why?" they cried

“They had something of ours, so Ace had to get it back.”

“I wanted to go with Big Brother too!” They cried, beginning to struggle against Thatch’s embrace

“Let me go!” They scream, beginning to throw punches his way

“Hey, Hey, it’s okay,” the man reassured them, tightening their hold, ignoring the shrill screams that now escaped them

“Hey, Hey, Dokucha, he always comes back, just like he came back from his previous mission and the one before. Just like I come back, just like Izou, and everyone will come back. But we need to calm down so we can welcome them back.”

“We would love to take you with us, Dokucha, but we want to keep you safe even more; we couldn’t bear something happening to you,” Izou continues, rubbing the child’s head

They sniffle, relaxing in their hold

“Hey, how about we go see Pops?” Thatch suggests

“Papaw?”

“Yeah, I’m almost finished with his meal; how about you come with us to deliver it?”

“Okay”

“Pops, food is ready; we had special help today.” thatch announced approaching the man

Whitebeard glances down at the two commanders, about to ask what they mean, until he spots the ‘special help’ running towards him

“Papaw!”

He grins, lifting the child up

“Gurararara, what brings you here, Dokucha?” he questions, glancing down at his sixteenth commander as he spoke

“We were having a hard time earlier wanted to go with Ace.”

“Gurarara, why would you be upset about such a thing brat?”

They shrug

“Has the boy ever broken his promise to come back?”

“No…”

“Has he ever lied to you?”

“No…”

“Then why were you throwing a fit?”

“I didn’t throw a fit!”

“Sounds like you did”

“You’re mean, Papaw!”

“It’s called tough love.”

“It’s being mean!”

“If that’s the case, are you not coming to the celebration when he does return?”

“I want to!”

“Are we done with the fits?”

“Yeah!”

“Did someone say celebration? I could use some grub,” a voice joins in

Dokucha beams, jumping off Whitebeard's hand and crashing into Ace

“Ace! You’re back!”

“Just like I promised.”

“Where are they?”

The human drills look at each other nervously and turn back to the swordsman, letting out a string of hoots and sneers.

Mihawk narrows his eyes at this

“Is that the answer you wish to go with?” He said, pulling out Yoru from his back and pointing it against the apes

“I will allow you to try again; where are they? I am well aware this is where they run to when they grow upset.”

In response, the human drills sounds escalate as they pull out their own weapons, only to stop as a small voice joins in

“It’s okay, Ezra, Enrique.” A small child wrapped in a blanket spoke, patting the apes, effectively calming them Down as they slowly lowered their weapons

“Don’t hurt them, Papa,” they mumble, hugging their blanket closer to them

He sighs, sheathing Yoru once again and extending his hand toward the child

The child wobbles their way to their father, taking hold of their hand and looking back at the human drills, sending a wave their way

As they walked on, the only sound that could be heard was the sounds of the forest around them as insects and birds chirped together, the sound of the human drills still reaching their ears, and the sound of Dokucha’s blanket being dragged as they walked next to the warlord.

“Are you going to tell me why you ran off?” he spoke, breaking the silence between them

He sighs at the silence that followed, pausing to pick up the child and place them on his hip, in turn the child leans their head against his shoulder

“Is this about the sword practice you were doing before?” He inquired, letting out a hum as the child nodded their head against his shoulder

“Can you tell me about it?”

“I can’t do it,” he mumbles

“Do what?”

“I can’t make the sword cut like Papa’s.”

“Is that what this is about?”

“Yeah”

“That kind of precision takes practice, it takes time,” he explains

“But I want to be strong like you!” They cried, leaning back and glancing up at him

His eyes soften at this, halting his walking as he puts all his attention on the child

“I know you do,” he said, wiping the tears that began falling from their eyes

“But one cannot simply master the sword overnight.”

“Not even Papa?.”

“No, I am not an exception to the statement. I had to train for years to be able to reach my current state, and I don’t doubt you will one day surpass me; that day is just not today.”

They frown at that, lying their head on their shoulder again

“How about we begin with the move you were attempting before?”

“Papa will teach me?” They exclaimed, shooting up

He chuckles

“You should have asked; I am never below teaching you the way of the sword.”

They grin, hugging his neck tightly

“I love you, Papa.”

“I love you too, dearest.”

Here we go! Two for two!! These are really cozy ones, loved how the Mihawk one turned out

If you think about it really hardthe strawhat with an baby on board might be sick.

But there is a death threat when the child wants to play with Luffy and luffy accidentally throwing the baby too high. But sanji would be a good caretaker with the food getting the babies needs in foods, if the child is allergic to this ortat, Robin is instantlythe mother nobody can change she would benthe best mother in the world. Zoro is great with kids (watch episode 318). Imagine the baby napping with him or sttig on his back while he exercises. Brook and Franky would be the uncles to spoil the baby with toys and clothes, gifts you name it. Usopp and Chopper are the baby siblings, playing with baby and jokes all around. Nami is the sister that protects the baby when their dangers (well, they all do, but she is in the scaredy cat trio) like pulling the baby close and running away.

Any changes, thoughts?

Oh you are spot on right there anon, Luffy is great with kids, just like ace as we saw with Tama and Momonosuke and how he protected her. But just as before just because he is good at protecting the baby and getting on the same wavelengh dosen’t exactly mean the child is gonn aleave unscathe. Luffy is capable of trying to give the baby some meat, if he decides to share it I mean. He dosen’t mean any harm he just dosen’t know, one thing he would be the to go to person is being blunt Id imagine when the kid is older he would go all the time to Luffy, as silly as he is he is also really blunt jusg as we see when he tells people when they are being annoying or crybabies no matter who they are so the kid can count on Luffy to not sugarcoat things just the blunt truth but also give them support. Fun big but honest brother. Totally capable of chucking them to high, but not to worry the crew is always there to save the kid! Hopefully…

Sanji just like you said would be great tending to the kids nutritional needs, we all know he is more than willing to adapts to not knly the needs of a person but also their preferences so no matter what kind of things the kid liek he is ready to provide. Because of his backround I also think he would be more in tune to the feelings of a baby and be good person to go to when they are emotional or just need someone to cry to when they are a little but older

Robin just has that motherly aura, can’t tell me otherwise, like Sanji I think because of her backround she would be more understanding of a child and the emotions they can bring. He has a few years under her belt and because of her background working with someone like Crocodile and all those people she is incredibly patient and is unlikely to loose her cool on the face of a baby’s high demands.

Zoro we know he is great with kids, my man took care of those triplets with style, like did you see how he gave that one baby his milk? Man is cool even under that situation. Not only have we seen him with actual babies but have you seen his relationship with Chopper? Get this man his adoption papers pronto. And despite how he is with Sanji . With a baby I feel liek he would have the patience of a saint, just the baby tossing and turning and he simply shifts or puts him back on hid lap endlessly, to the point that he does it unconsciously, his instincts won’t let that baby fall even if they were napping upside down. Hear me out kn those exercises, I know he is mostly into weights but if he ever does a run, just strap the baby in and you got a weight vest. And he takes the baby on certain weight exercises because the movements are akin to rocking.

Now Brook, you might have seen this one coming but lullubies, baby has got A nap buddy, their oen personal chef and their own personal concert what more can you wish? The baby might not understand what he is saying but you can bet that he will be making skeleton jokes everytime he is on baby duty and the baby will just laugh along because of his laugh ( he thinks they are laughing at his jokes so he keeps them going)

Now listen not only is Franky one of the cool uncles, my man can pull up all kinds builds for the kid, need a new craddle? Leave it up to him, need a new crib? You got one with the latest technology in the blink of an eye. Listen he tried to give the baby soda but after getting screamed at explained that a baby cannot have soda, you can bet the baby will have a Soda stuffie to replace the lack of real Soda. Baby’s gonna have a superrrrrr good laugh with him.

Ussop, like Franky will make sure the baby has everything available, he builds the baby all kinds of fun toys for them to play with; not only that but he gaves a detailed explanation on everything he does, baby will leave with a new toy and a course on construction. He can easily make that baby laugh with his goofy attitude too, rest assured that when the crew disembarks into dangerous territory you will have Ussop’s full disposition to stay behind with the baby.

Chopper has two modes, first one just like you said is being on the same wavelength as the baby. If Chopper is ever nowhere to be found, the crew knows to check the babies room, chopper is often napping with the baby with both of them hugging and cuddling eachother. Don’t count on him to be there when baby needs changing though, that nose of his won’t be able to take it. Second nose is doctor mode, a baby is really vulnerable and won’t be able to communicate what he’s feeling and Chopper is always ready to make him all better and provide the best care the baby could get.

Big sister Nami won’t let baby have anhthing but the best, you know why baby is always dressed up in what seems to be better clothes than the rest if the crew? Yep that comes from rich big Sister Nami. Baby has an outfit for every occasion, not only that but on everystop you can be sure that if Nami dosen’t come back with a new clothing item then she is returning for a new plush toy for the baby. On calm days when everything is quiet you can hear from the deck Nami playing some silly game like peekaboo with baby Strawhat

Lastly we have Jinbei. Him and Ussop often pair up to tell the best of stories they can tell, Ussops crazy stories combined with Jinbei’s calm voice is an audience pleaser. Wether it is an action story to entertain baby strawhat or a bedtime story he’s got it. When there’s a swimday you can bet that it’s Jinbei’s time to chain, they might just be a baby but they will have the time of their lives either way when jinbei is on duty

Dokucha runs across the deck ignoring the calls of their brothers as they make it to their destination

“Papaw! Look at what I made!” The child excitedly called

“What is it?”

“Silly Papaw you can’t see from up there, make me go up so I can show you!”

The old man made no move to do such a thing instead taking another drink from the alcohol he was currently working on trying to keep his worries at bay

“I want up Papaw!” They repeated a pout on their face

“Come on Pops don’t leave em hanging” Ace called

“…”

“Pops are you scared?” Ace asked a grin growing on his face as he realized his father’s worries only to be replaced with a wince as the former launched him off the ship at his taunts

“Don’t worry Papaw im a strong kid! Im papaw’s grandchild!” Dokucha called much to the older man’s surprised, the shocked look melting into a tender look as he lowered the palm of his hand for the child to climb into

“What did you make?”

“I made you a drawing! Look there’s you and there’s me! You just defeated the bad guys so we are having a party!” They babbled on

“Gurarara! I will have this hanged on my room, you’re getting better at this” he called stretching his other palm, hesitating for a second but resuming his movement to ruffle the child’s head; grinning at the giggles that resulted from it

“Can someone fish Ace out of the water?” A crewmate called

🥺 Whitebeard finally has a baby back on board @holoimtrans17 , las babies on board were so long ago he has grown used to raising big strong men that he fears he has lost his touched when it comes to the young ones but thats what they boys are here for, they know despite what dad might say he does care and wants to be able to have tender moments with Dokucha

I fully believe that the whitebeard pirates would be good but completely chaotic with an actual child like I know whitebeards whole thing is being a dad but I think you throw a four year old at them and they're like "oh God can it have beer yet?" And completely forget that tantrums exist and the first couple weeks are pure chaos

Correct me if im wrong but when aren’t the only kids who have been in the Moby Dick Hiyori and Momonosuke? And they had both parents to look after them so no one had to worry about taking any reponsability in that aspect and Whitebeard din’t have to step in as a dad in their case.

To me the best contenders to know whag the hell they are doing would be Marco and Oden, with Izou and Ace coming a close second

Oden, well he is a dad so that gives him an advantage on dealing with kids but regardless he is soemone who gives zero shits on what people think of him so he has no problem being the goofy dad 24/7. And despite his hotheaded personality and what I thought to be a careless lifestyle he is a man who will and has given everything to protect his family and retainers

Up next we have Marco, I don’t recall him having direct contact with any children on the series but he has shown to have a calm, mature demeanor, this paired up with his medical knowledge would aid him in things such as when does a child become ready for solid foods, when should they start walking etc. Not saying he would know everything as he is the Ship’s doctor and not a pediatrician but his love for his family would be enough encouragement to learn about children and their development. Plus this man can do no wrong sooo

Ace, now listen you may think, of course you’re going to say he’s up there he had Luffy and you would be absolutely right that is one of the reasons 😂. Listen in his youth he had a rough attitude and if even then he was able to fill that role he filled for luffy even years later is a testament to his qualifications. Second point is his personality, when he grew up he grew up to be a a goofball, at least I saw him that way, I feel like his personality would match up perfectly with a child. But a good match dosen’t feed the child so that’s why he won’t be up in first place. He would be great with the children but he would be as clueless as can be when it comes to needs of the kid, he would forget tk water and feed the child.

For Izou, I think he would be a good option because like Marco he seems tk have that Mature and responsible demeanor , so he would be a good option for a child coming aboard. He would also be great with the needs of the child, reminding himself to do all the tasks needed to be done if the child is wrong or remind the child themselves if they are old enough. But despite being a big brother, he is only a big brother by a year so I don’t think thats adding tk his resume in this case. The reason why he is not on top is because even though he would be great at keeping track of what teh child needs he doesn’t neccesarily have the knowledge, he can be told about what and when the kid needs something but he wouldn’t know that by himself, so give him the information and he is up there with Marco And Oden, which would probably be the ones who teach him in the first place

Thatch would be a good option too, he has a playful and caring personality for the child and he would be able to adapt his meals to better fit the kid, but same as Izou he would need to be given that information. And similar to Ace he would forget about some needs of the kid or be incredibly reckless, he would remember to feed and water the kid since he is a chef and it’s his job but other needs eh, keep an eye on him ir next thing you know you’ll have a toddler making your meals, handling knifes and other utensils.

I do want to mention Haruta, I think kids would love his outfit, he looks goofy so he could be a good entertainer for them. The rest of the commanders though… well they would be good bug brothers but maybe from a little far away, they are more rady to handle bigger kids and teens who can take a little bit more force. They could be caring but if someone like Kingdew or Fossa approach a kid I don’t know if a small child would be…how to say it…. I don’t think they would be ready for their personalities and facial expressions….

ace is such a girldad in my opinion. Like I just know he would clumsily learn how to do fun braids and hairstyles and he's that dad who is just so supportive of any and all hobbies his baby girl takes part in. Full tutu so he can perform with her in ballet but also like screaming crying throwing up at her softball games just the most supportive dad

Ummm yeah???? That’s not even up for discussion, he would be a great dad. He would train and mentor his son, ready to beat some sense into him if he was anything like he was as a kid but man oh man if it’s a girl? You have got yourselves a queen, because thats how she will he treated the moment she comes into the world.

Worst part is that she would not only get this treatment from, being the only girl on the ship plus the only kid on the ship? Everyone is gonna be treating her like a queen.

Him crying of joy at every simple thing she does. Or becoming overly emotional, when she gets angry at him, or the betrayal he feels when she plays pranks on him like painting with marker on his face when he faints”

“The hell do you mean me?! You were also supposed to keep an eye on him!”

“That’s enough the both of you! Right now, we need to focus on finding him before he sneaks into the kitchen or the training areas.” The first-mad yelled, scolding his crewmates

“I swear I had him by my side a few seconds ago. I just I blinked, and just like that, gone! It’s like he just up and vanished!” Ace said desperately, looking around

“That’s why you can’t take your eyes off him; he is quick like that,” mutters Vista, thinking of where the little menace could have run off to now

“He wouldn’t get off the ship, would he?” He questions

“Unlikely, he will only get down once he sees one of us has deboarded, and despite looking for trouble, he won’t leave our side unless we tell him he can,” Izou pipes in

Their discussion is quickly cut short as two voices join their conversation

“What have I told you about sneaking into the kitchen?” Thatch grumbles, holding the child by the scruff of his shirt walking closer to the men

“But it was a mess! I needed to clean the mess up!” He fusses, looking up at the chef

“No, uh, Kitchen is a big No, No, don’t trust you not to steal one of my knives again.”

“But it was a mess; I need to go back and clean it; I need to make sure it’s clean, so much mess, I need to clean it,” he rambled on as he began to spiral on the thought of the kitchen and all the tools and areas that needed to be cleaned up

“Hey, Hey, I get you want to clean, but you can’t just barge in and start cleaning; you could get badly hurt if you touched one of the hot surfaces. Please don’t go back in there without one of us,” He said, lowering the kid to the ground

“Just don’t sneak in there again, got it?”

“Sorrey”

“It’s okay; I'm not mad at you. I'm just worried you could get badly hurt. How about you come to ask me first, and I‘ll let you know if I help clean?”

He grins, nodding excitedly

“Okay!”

“Hey, Dokucha, are you coming with us?” Called Vista; Marco and Izou already waiting for the pair at the port

“Yeah!” The exclaimed, running his way but skidding to a stop and looking at the two behind him

“Are you not coming?” He asked, looking at Thatch and Ace

“I’ll stay here; I have some things to attend to in the kitchen,” Thatch replies; he takes a moment to sigh and rub his head

“Someone has to keep this idiot some company,” quips Ace with a grin, only to groan as his comment was received with a hit on the back of the head

“What the hell, Thatch?!”

He snickers at his brothers' antics and resumes running his way to Vista, joining him as they go down the gangway

“Where are we going?”

Marco looks back at the two

“I need to refill some of the medical supplies; after that, we need to stack up on drinks,” Marco answered, looking down at the list he held in his hands

He jumps his way to Marco, hanging from his shoulder to take a look at the note

“What’s gunpowder? And what the hell is whetstone?” the boy asked, squinting at the words in the note

“Language,” muttered Marco, giving a side eye to the child on his shoulder

“Whetstones are used to sharpen swords, Dokucha; I need it to sharpen my swords; the one we have has grown dull,” Vista answered

“Hehehehe, Can I have the swords when you sharpen them?”

“Certainly not.”

“Just for a little bit, just want to test them; how do you know if they go through the skin if you don’t try it?” He grinned, a maniacal look growing in his eyes

“Who are you trying this on?!”

“I can find people to stab real quick; you won’t miss them.”

“No”

“I can use the blood of our enemies.”

“Still no.”

“Bah, what about gunpowder?”

“It’s used for firing weapons like my pistols,” Izou replied, showing the kid his pistols as he said that

“No.”

“Din’t even ask!”

“Don’t need to; you wouldn’t be allowed.”

“Ugh, party poopers,” he whined, sticking his tongue at the two

They roll their eyes at his antics, a chuckle escaping Vista as he shakes his head

“You’re quite something, Dokucha,” Marco stated, putting the note away and beginning to make his way into town

“I wouldn’t trust you with a wea- Agh!” His words were cut off as one of the locals knocked into him, causing him to stumble slightly in surprise

“Watch where you’re walking, dumbass,” they growl, continuing their way deeper into town

“…”

“Stab, Stab?” He said, not taking his eyes off the person as they walked away, an ominous-looking smile growing on his face

“Leave them,” Marco groaned, brushing himself off

“But they deserve it to have their blood splattered!”

“They are not worth it,” Vista sighed, shaking his head

“It’s fine. Let them have their rude ways; they hardly deserve any of you’re attention,” Izou added

“Don’t let people like that bother you, Dokucha; people like that enjoy pushing people around. It’s best not to waste your time with them,” Vista finished

“They were rude; come on, just one stab! I’ll make the prettiest painting with their blood.”

“No”

“No one will mis-

“Absolutely not”

Everyone would be hap-

“Just drop it.”

“Come o-

The three stated their answers firmly, all three sharing a similar tone that told him there was no room for discussion

So how was that? I tried to keep Dokucha an unhinged child, in a comedic way and make sure not to pass that line where you’re like bro this kid is a psychopath and no one should be near him. Im not sure if I was able to establish that balance here

Some headcannons for youu ♡ :

Izou just having the time of his life designing outfits for dokusha.

Thatch teaching dokusha to cook bit by bit and supporting them no matter how bad the food is (think like Sanji's mother)

Related to Puppy love/escapes - Shanks secretly writing to dokusha now and then to check up on them

Dokusha sneaking into whitebeards room after having a nightmare, and whitebeard knowing that the kid is there but pretends to be asleep

Marco not leaving dokusha's side while there sick, not because it's serious but because he doesn't want them to wake up with no one there

Vista helping dokusha make flower crowns while telling stories

Ace breaking the rules and sneaking dokusha away while their grounded do to fun things

Let me start by saying that when they read the end my first reactions like HA they din’t include Vista, ima throw one in but then I saw you DID. Include him and I was damn they got ahead of me. 😂

Izou is one hundred percent ensuring Dokucha is always on flick 💅🏽 . Not only does he have a good eye for them on stores but he also comes up with both cutest and fanciest things for the kid. One day you wake up to them in the darnest dino costume

You bet that Thatcher is gonna always have his little assistant even Baby Dokucha, he will always have them on his hip as he cooks (as long as it’s safe) trying to get some early lessons on the baby, making sure to narrate every step of what he’s doing.

Listen the crew don’t know this but Dokucha has bribed one of the delivery birds to come to them after they have dropped the usual new’s coo. In exchange for some quality food and perhaps a coin here and there they maintain contact with Shanks.

Dokucha is a kid, and with that comes scares wether from a nighmare or from a suspicious sound they keep hearing on their room, even though they sleep with the commanders on their room, nothing will provide more safety than good ol grandpa so Whitebeard always makes sure to ‘forget’ to lock his room, if you’re lucky he might even ‘accidentally’ leave out some blankets…

Listen, he might not do this for the rest of the crew, that dosen’t mean he doesn’t care for the others he just thinks they can toughen it out plus when it cones to stubborn pirates sitting next to them as the lie injures their pride but Dokucha, they don’t know any better. The others don’t know this but Marco sneaks some books into the clinic to read to the small child to help them rest better.

They know to nurture all sides of Dokucha and that means the innocent meaningless activities, just like izou Vista is more than willing to take on that role, helping them make flower clowns and teaching them of the different plants they might encounter in the different islands.

Oh remember how I said the commanders know better? They do but they also recognize when they have learned their lesson; sometimes the time frame of the punishment is longer than needed so they do kind of see what the situation calls for. However when the punishment do seem to be longer than what they need, Ace asks special permission from Pops to give the child a ride. Whitebeard most usually says yes but he does on the condition that Ace will also have a talk with Dokucha to make sure why they were being punished and try to find a middle ground to make sure the behavior gets curbed. (He does have to ask Whitebeard, Even Ace is aware he wouldn’t be able to sneak past the man)

Shanks turned around putting down the box that he had taken the task to load onto the ship in their latest stop for supplies.

“Hmm what is it?”

“I found something for you!” They exclaimed happily as they approached the man raising their arms and opening and closing their palms in a grabbing motion

“Look!” The exclaimed shoving a paper into the man’s chest, climbing into the man’s back shortly after to allow him to open said paper

Shanks let out a low whistle, a grin growing on his face as he unfolded what he now identified as a map, a very promising map at that.

“Would you look at that”

“Is it a good map Papa?”

“Huh? You got the map without knowing what it was Dokucha? Where did you find it?” He called glancing up at the child”

“From a man’s pocket” the answered receiving a snicker from the swordsman

“You follow the rules aye?”

“Mmhm! It was a pirate pocket!” They cheered

“Atta Dokucha, now then looks like we know where we will be heading next”

Okay I actually had to consult with my mutual senpai @hannahbarberra162 for this one cause not gonna lie you got me thinking and I was kind of torned

Because listen a lot of these pirates have morals , every ship has it’s own set of morals some of which is more ethical that the next but still morals!

For the one’s that would have rules against stealing which I picture being the grand majority in some way I would quote on younger shanks, they are okay with stealing but the golden rule is that they are not to steal from normal civilians, now if they get their hands on something belonging to another pirate or perhaps a marine? Well Finder keepers losers weeper : D

Now they woulden’t really encourage stealing but again if something just happens to somehow land in their hands, well surely the owner will bot miss it right?

At the top of my head, I could see one crew being the exception to this, the kid pirates; they have very different standings from the other crews that we now, that is not to say that there are no rules that kid has his crew go by but when it comes to stealing everyone is fair game especially if it’s something useful to him and the crew.

The Heart pirates I would see having strickter rules than the general one’s but not because of what you think, I think theh would be stricter on not being caught, if you afe able to steal without getting caught or causing a ruckus then game on; I say this because this crew is more undercover so I could see Law being displeased at having to deal an angry owner running after him for theft.

I can definitely see Sakazuku also joining the club, with his ultimate justice motto, he might be inclined to take in the child and pass on that belief to them, to train them and strengthen them so they can take down pirates just as he does. The childwould be the one person he can put his trust in to get the job done when needed, and the one weakness of the Red Dog.

Borsalino, despite his…-Eccentric personality, say shat you mean but all I see is parent material, you look me in the eye and tell me a child woul’t enjoy his almost comedic lacksaidacal manner. I feel it would be really calming for a child who has experienced tragedy to have this general who thinks everything is funny, it would ease their worries. After experiencing traumatic events having this dude who shows no worry, no anger just a calm even intrigued demeaned might be able to ground them.

Issho, need I say more about this guy? Of course, he would take a child in, did you see how he helped that one kid when he first appeared? He would be the most gentle dad to their child, always being considerate of their past and how certain things might trigger them. But don’t be fooled, he would be gentle but struck parent, no wrongdoings will be excused, he will always be gentle but remain firm.

Aramaki? Gosh, maybe.Maybe he would but I just hate that guy so much, I mean my biased is definitely getting in the way her but anyone who sees the celestial dragons as actual Gods, nuh uh. I GUESSS he would there’s no red flags regarding his caretaking other than his horrible and messed up ideals, but let’s be honest any kid taken in by him would be high tailing his ass outta there.

I know you din’t probably expect this one but Zephyr also passes the bill. Despite his over the top views, they are basically a coping mechanism on the pain cause by losing his wife and child. So I feel as though encountering an abandoned/survivor child might just be what he needs to back to his gentle and caring origins, the child might be able to fill that hole left in him by his loss and give him a new reason to keep going and reignite his views on justic

Okay @holoimtrans17 , you asked this quite literally like months ago, I mean this was all the way in july 😂 so you problably don’t even remember what you requested which im hoping for cause that means you get to be surprise when tommorows fic is published! The one after that one is also a request by you!

Anyhow for the sake of not making a whole page of just answering a question on the Author’s note of the piece I figured I would answer the question separetly.

I think I mentioned this before but I feel like I ‘m a fake fan because I had been interested in one piece but never felt mentally ready to start something so long (ADHD hitting) but when the live action dropped the curiosity got the best of me but adhd just got me to skypia, the rest I have learn trough you guys, research, clips, fics etc. and I think you guys also know this but my favorite character is Marco 💅🏽. I ‘m not even sure why exactly, I guess I just find him charming.

For the second it’s a yes and no? I haven’t really read/watched from start to finished bed i’ve just seen some chapters/episodes here and there along with clips. But let me tell you I think the whole reason I did that was because or Mitsuri. I just found her character so enchanting, she’s so beautiful 🥰.

Not only is she incredibly beautiful but she is kind, sweet and is incredibly stong; which is another thing that drew me in, she has such a beautiful fighting style, when I first saw the clip of her fighting that demon I was gone, it was like watching an acrobatics routine! I am In love with her sword as well! Fun fact it is actually a real sword, it is an urumi which I found fascinating. Ahhhh I just love everything about her character, her past also really touched me and hit me in the feels so 10/10 character!!

This isn't so much a request but after reading the second part to Puppy love I came to the realization that dokusha must get in a lot of trouble and get grounded alot-

Whether the punishment be cleaning duty, sleeping in the crows nest, or having to be under supervision they complain the entire time to who ever is around-

Oh for sure you have to remember that Kids are sponges and the Whitebeard pirates is a mesh of all sorts of personalities, all of them being stubborn beyond believe so when you mix those two? You get something Crazy

With that in mind, when you have such a thing, well, things tend to get out of hand. The Whitebeard pirates love Dokucha; it’s their baby, and as any guardian, they know that correcting them when they do wrong is part of their duty

However remember what the Whitebeard pirates are made off, Marco himself said it it is people who have been chased out of their homes, people nobody wanted and are hated by society so they know what it is to have absent guardians or even worse abusive ones that’s why they promised themselves to never be the same

So, punishments do happen, but they would never include or be associated with things such as abandonment or corporal punishment; they know how damaging that can be to a child’s emotional health. So they would never lock dokucha in a room or force them to sleep at the mercy of the elements.

The most common punishment is having an escort 24/7 because if someone is always watching them, they can’t do crazy things, play pranks, or be their mischievous selves. Another common one is having to do jobs around the ship, but with safety measures, of course, they wouldn’t make dokucha clean the deck when there is a storm or when there is an unbearable sun burning above them.

The important key here is that when they get punished, they get paired with a commander, whitebeard himself, or a crewmember who often hangs with them because they know better. They learned their lesson when they sent Dokucha with the nurses, and they came out of the punishment with stickers and candy; they know better than to have someone who can fall for it watch them. Dokucha is, after all, a kid, and, as any other kid, hates when there are consequences and does everything they can to get out of them, with the most effective being running and fake tears; the commanders and Whitebeard are immune to it because they raised them so Dokucha is out of luck. (Oh, how many times my students have played me 😞) Even thatch knows better; he loves spoiling them, but he knows when that can become detrimental, he is aware of where the line is drawn
