Note
I recently started watching NCIS LA and in Season 2, Episode 18 (Harm's Way) it was so cute how the kidnapped Saudi Prince instinctively leaned into Sam as if he were seeking protection, even though Sam's alias was a bad guy. It parallels with the conversation between Callen and Nadir (the kid with the suicide vest in the water tank) in the Episode 'The Seventh Child' where Callen said that in life there are people you meet and you will know you are safe with them.
hello anon :) sorry for the extremely late reply. i’m not sure when you sent this but i know it must have been a long time ago.
that is a really good catch :) and quite the parallel too. god, i wish i was still making gifs because this would be the perfect parallel gifset.
you know, i used to watch ncis la with my mum and i remember the first time we watched 2x18, the part of the episode that caught her attention was the way that the young saudi prince trusted sam and she even mentioned (that time and every time we’ve seen that episode) that he saw and believed him to be one of the bad guys but still trusted him regardless of that and i think that just showcases the kind of person that sam is and taking into account callen’s comment - sam really is that person. he’s someone you feel safe with, someone you know, deep down that you can trust and who will help and look out for and after you. i guess, in a way that also explains why so many people tend to gravitate towards sam.
it also makes me wonder if that was actually something that happened with sam and callen - is that part of the reason why they are so close? because callen felt safe with sam?

Popular Locations Wednesday
Santa Monica’s Pier
The iconic landmark originally began its life as two separate piers with different owners and purposes. The first was the Municipal Pier constructed in 1909 to carry sewer pipes away from the beach. The shorter Pleasure Pier was constructed in 1916 by Charles & Arthur Looff to hold an amusement park. The distinctive entry arch and bridge were constructed to 1938. The pier was acquired by the city in 1974 and saved from demolishment by a community campaign. The pier currently houses the Pacific Park family amusement park with a solar powered Ferris wheel, an arcade, museum, aquarium, merry-go-round, and several restaurants.
The pier can be seen above in Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, Angel, Alias, Iron Man, & Lucifer.
A few other productions it can be seen in include Columbo, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Beverly Hills, 90210, NCIS: Los Angeles, & Star Trek: Voyager.

Tom’s passports, 2x17 & 2x18
In 2x17, Ressler told Liz that he put a flag on Tom’s aliases. All of them.
Ressler: You know, not everyone’s so anxious to leave. Put a flag on Tom, all his known aliases – he hasn’t left. Liz: You don’t know that for sure. Ressler: Has he reached out to you? Liz: No.
He’s referring to the aliases on Tom’s passports that sit in evidence. He’s asking if Tom reached out to her because he knows someone was making payments to those aliases, so he truly wants to know for the sake of making an arrest.
Ressler: Looks like Tom's in a little bit of trouble and he's gonna bring that trouble to you. So… be careful.
2x17′s deleted scene is timed just right, shown to take place after their Wing Yee dinner. This is Ressler getting wind that Tom’s aliases were burned just as Tom is shown burning his passports. You see Red do the same thing when Kate burned some of his aliases. At any rate, Ressler KNOWS Tom is gonna turn to Liz for those passports in evidence.
Liz: What are you doing?! Tom: I didn’t know where else to go.
Right after that call, Tom shows up at her motel. He wants the passports. At the start of 2x18, he’s shown picking pockets. To be clear... if he had access to any kind of money whatsoever, he wouldn’t be picking pockets, he’d simply get money wherever he has it stored. It doesn’t matter if it sits in a box, in a bank, or under a different alias. If he’s holding onto said box, able to walk into said bank, or holding onto the passport for said alias... he has access to his money. Tom doesn’t have any money, so he’s picking pockets. Soon as he gets the passports in 2x18, he’s buying a new mustang and a new boat.
Tom got paid for something big, and Ressler knew it. This is where my theory for Red’s shooting comes in. We get the Orea bombing, and Liz’s conversation with Red.
Red: Where are you on Karakurt? Liz: Where? Nowhere. The Cabal just took out an entire substation of the CIA. They put a bullet in your chest, and you have no idea how. You’re the most cautious person I know. The FBI couldn’t find you for 20 years, but they did. They’re three steps ahead, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna tell the AG. Red: Tom Connolly is there? Liz: No, he’s on his way. I assume he’s expecting to be briefed. Red: Connolly made the Harbormaster investigation go away. Liz: All we have on Karakurt is a recording and a grainy photo that’s gotten us nowhere. Red: You have far more than that. Liz: Like what? Red: I’m glad you’re safe, Lizzy. I’ll be in touch.
Red’s comment about the Harbormaster investigation is specific. He’s telling Liz that her frame began the moment Tom Connolly walked in and shut Ames’ case down. The episode where Connolly walked in on Tom and Judge Denner. He wasn’t gonna let Tom go to prison for Liz. Let me be clear about this... Connolly could’ve gotten the same thing even had Tom went to prison for Liz. She was gonna walk either way. I’m basically saying Connolly wanted Tom Keen out of prison. At any rate, Liz doesn’t follow this conversation like Red wants her to. Not because she doesn’t want to, but because they’re interrupted with the voice recording of Anton Velov and Leo Andropov. New lead, so Liz doesn’t think about what Red just said to her. She hits Andropov’s lab.
“They put a bullet in your chest, and you have no idea how.”
I believe this was Tom’s role in exchange for his freedom and/or life.
"I was aware we had someone on the inside, but I just didn’t know who.”
A confirmed inside man when Samar assists Red in 2x20.
"Well, I’m not on the inside anymore. I just blew my cover to save you.”
This is why I place Liz’s 2nd memory wipe in 2x22. Liz uncovered Tom’s involvement in Red’s shooting because there came a point in time where she had the time to consider her phone conversation with Red. Tom gets a bullet in Red’s chest, he gets a new mustang and a new boat. He returns to help clear Liz’s name when he sees The Director on the news. With Connolly dead, The Director was his only tie to the Cabal. Although I do believe he met Solomon too.

Rederina Rewatch: Vanessa Cruz
"Our ghost has a face."
                   “Our ghost has a name.”
I decided to skip over to 2x18 in my Rederina rewatch because Vanessa’s hire somehow makes sense to me now. This post will include dialogues from other episodes, as well as dialogues that pertain to my memory wipe theory - since I believe Red’s shooting was the “truth” Krilov took from Liz two years ago.
2x17.
It’s important I start here, since 2x18 runs fluid.
Tumblr media
I don’t know if this is my birthday.
This is her birthday. Red celebrates and mourns at the same time.
Tumblr media
How’d you find me? If I can, they can. They flagged you leaving Dresden. Your passports are burned.
Tom burns the passports that are burned. Ressler put a flag on all of Tom’s aliases earlier in the episode, but Major was talking about the Germans.
Reminiscent of Red burning his burned identities during his war against Kate.
And those are the charred remains of 16 false identities that Kate has somehow compromised.
Tumblr media
Ressler put a flag on all of Tom’s aliases -
You know, not everyone’s so anxious to leave. Put a flag on Tom, all his known aliases - he hasn’t left.
His deleted scene after their Wing Yee dinner -
Looks like Tom’s in a little bit of trouble and he’s gonna bring that trouble to you, so ... be careful.
Reminiscent of Red’s scene in 5x8 -
I believe Tom Keen is once again entangled in some nasty business, and I worry he may be involving Elizabeth.
Tom hits her doorstep. He wants his passports from evidence.
2x18.
I couldn’t come up with a theory as to why Red hired Vanessa Cruz. Her skill-set is framing people, which Red is more than capable of doing since he’s the one who created Edgar Legate. Rederina changes the view and offers a purpose.
Red after looking through Liz’s birthday photos. Tom after burning his burned passports.
Tumblr media
Turning myself in to save you saved me. And not because the Judge let me go. I’ve been running since I was 14. It’s all I’ve known. And in that moment when the Judge let me go, I thought, “maybe there’s a world where I don’t have to run, where I could just - ”
Our Red has been running for 30 years.
Red: I understand what it’s like to be drawn to something that is unhealthy to a part of yourself that you are afraid of. But I want you to remember what your life really was with him, and imagine all that it could be without him. Liz: I don’t have to imagine. Red: Good. Because I have a case.
Tumblr media
Red is close to tears in this scene and desperate to get his hooks into Vanessa Cruz. Putting Red’s words into context since that’s his entire reason for handing Liz this case - hiring Vanessa Cruz.
Remove the replies, and this is what it looks like:
I want you to remember what your life really was with him, and imagine all that it could be without him. Because I plan to hire Vanessa Cruz.
This is coming straight from him looking over her birthday photos.
Vanessa Cruz and Katarina Rostova.
Two women with many names.  Vanessa's relationship to Abby sells it even more.
Tumblr media
Vanessa’s husband was framed -
Thrown off a bridge to keep him from blowing the whistle. That’s when you framed him, which is why she framed you.
Ressler: Why would I feel bad for them? They’re criminals. Liz: According to Reddington, they’re innocent - Framed after months, sometimes years of planning by a woman with a deep-seated hatred for the 1%. She doesn’t just take their money, she takes their reputations, their freedom, sometimes their lives.
Ressler: Drew Roberts. He was one of Cruz’s victims. He worked at Oakside Investments. Aram: And? Ressler: That was the firm that employed Cruz’s dead husband. Aram, I might have an idea what this is all about.
Ressler: It’s not about money. It’s about revenge.
Tumblr media
Onto Red, from 1x9 -
Ressler: So, what’s it all about then, the Blacklist? Revenge? Red: Oh, revenge is too easy and over so quickly. I would hope for more than that.
Our Red was framed himself, from 5x20 -
Similar to Cruz’s husband planning to blow the whistle, our Red planned to take down the Cabal.
Jennifer: So, you’re saying you were framed? Red: I’m saying a perfectly plausible narrative was created. Jennifer: By some shadow government called the Cabal. Red: And anyone close to a target of theirs becomes a target themselves. Jennifer: Family. Red: Especially family.              (Unless given up for adoption to Sam)
Abandonment, a long-standing issue with Liz. Parallel of a faked suicide.
Hernandez: They found her folded clothing at Rockaway Beach. They never found a body, but I know she was dead. She’d never abandon me.
Red: Two months later, she went to Cape May and left her clothes on the beach, walked into the ocean and was never seen again.
Tumblr media
Liz: Do you think she’s dead? Katarina? I know they say she committed suicide, but there was a man, Anton Velov. He was a Colonel in the Spetsnaz. He said she might still be alive. Dom: I never heard from Katarina after she left for America. What really happened to her - I think there are some people who want to keep that information a secret. And I think they will do whatever is necessary even now to keep it that way.
Same was said of Katarina. By Jon Bokenkamp.
Is Katarina really dead? I don’t know how to answer that. Is she really dead? She really walked off into the water and was never found. So there’s that. I don’t know. I don’t know how to answer that anymore. I’m sorry.
Vanessa’s ghost references.
Tumblr media
Conway: Over 278 people lost everything because of some ghost. Aram: The detectives and the lawyers may not have found anything conclusive on their own, but if you put the photos they found together - our ghost has a face.
Liz: Our ghost has a name - Vanessa Cruz.
Red was referred to as a ghost many times throughout. Specific in 4x2 when he shoots Kaplan.
“And I will never be set free as long as I’m a ghost that you can’t see”
So was Liz in 5x9.
I think uh, she was -       A ghost. Life’s full of ’em.
Opposite with men.
Tumblr media
Hernandez: Some women make the same mistakes with men over and over again.
Vanessa’s husband was framed.
Katarina: It wasn’t your fault. He was a bad man.
Red: Men like Tom don’t change.
Cooper: I wonder what his angle is. Liz: Sir? Cooper: Reddington. Why give us this case? What’s his interest in this Cruz woman?
Kaplan: Mrs. Cruz, my employer is a longtime admirer of yours. He understands your gambit has run its course. The FBI knows what you’re up to. They’re looking for you now, which means you have one of two choices - Run and hide, or accept his help.
The only thing Vanessa has that our Red doesn’t, is her gender. Not so easy to seduce and betray both genders since he’s no longer Katarina Rostova. I believe Vanessa’s hire has everything to do with Red’s framing by the Cabal. She has no problem in the seduction and betrayal department.
To the future.
I don’t think it’s about revenge with Vanessa’s hire. I think it’s about clearing Red’s name. Her know-how goes deep. That expertise could help on the opposite side of the frame. Especially since she figured out her husband’s enough to seek vengeance. Her being wanted was the only reason Katarina had to “die” in the first place. As long as she continued to exist, Liz would be hunted and killed.
Tom and the Cabal.
Red took Hobbs’ vote in 2x17.
Red: Well, maybe you didn’t save mankind from an untimely death, but someday you may be able to spare me from one.
2x18.
Hobbs: I’ve been quietly lobbying on your behalf.
Tumblr media
Tom sounds like Connolly in 2x19.
Connolly: I appreciate your loyalty to Agent Keen, Harold, but you have to admit there’s a possibility she’s being completely manipulated by Reddington. What if the reason he chose her in the first place is because he wanted to get his hands on this thing? What if that’s the real reason he turned himself in? All this talk about some personal connection between Reddington and Keen, why he chose her, some shared history - what if Reddington doesn’t care about Agent Keen and it’s all been a manipulation?
2x18.
Tom: You know, I’m no worse than your buddy Reddington. Liz: He’s not my buddy. And you are worse. Tom: You don’t get it. Even after all this time, Reddington Is dangerous, and he is playing you.
Interesting since Red traced the Orea bombing back to the Harbormaster trial, where Connolly allowed Tom to walk on all charges - including those committed on behalf of Berlin.
Scene cut.
Tumblr media
From Tom trying to pin the passorts on Berlin to the Diector going off about Hobbs' betrayal.
Tom: Do you think it’s possible for uh - someone like me to start over, to become something else?
The Director: Reddington did not make you! We made you!
Tom: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I can’t. Not about this.
The Director: We put you in the game, and you betray us? You betray me? I treated you like family. I supported you.
Tumblr media
The Fulcrum.
Hobbs: Listen to me, Red. The Fulcrum - If you have it, if you can prove you have it, do it now. Your life depends on it.
Red: This is simply about me trying to survive. I’m perfectly happy to put you in touch with someone who deals in shelf corporations, but I need the Fulcrum.
Tom: Reddington. I’ve been thinking about what you said - about needing to tell you the truth. So I’m gonna tell you the truth. The passports - the passports came from Reddington. Liz, there’s more.
Dembe: Agent Keen wants to meet regarding the Fulcrum.
Liz: Here. This is all you wanted. Now you have it. I just want this to stop. I want it all to stop, right now. Take it!
Tumblr media
Lying to Liz about the passports was easy since they came from Red’s trusted forger in Warsaw. Hard to disprove that. The fact that one of them is for his Keen alias and Red hired him to enter her life, even more. Claiming Red issued the passports would’ve been enough. “Liz, there’s more.”
In 2x19 -
Liz: I thought you’d be gone. Tom: That was the plan. Then I thought maybe if I stayed, I’d have a shot at a normal life.
Rederina fits into Vanessa Cruz’s episode. If I’m right about the memory wipe and Vanessa’s reason for hire, then I suspect both will return in S6.

My Tom Domino theory (yes, all mine) was built similarly to the Rederina theory. That’s why the same can be said - Each factor taken separately is not conclusive, but put them together and it's clear. Shippers can come up with one excuse after another to argue each factor for the sake of their desires for the show. Put together - those factors made it clear to me that another story is being told. I do believe reveals are coming for Tom, it’s just a matter of when. At least two untold stories remain (that I know of). Richard Game is one. Gina Zanetakos is the other. That’s why she was first introduced in 1x6, and why we haven’t seen or heard of her since 3x17.
Tumblr media
Grandmother
Agnes: Mommy, who’s that funny-looking man? Liz: It’s a long story. But we finally have time to tell it.
Little Red
Liz: You killed him? Tom: Uh, no. Actually, Gina did. But that’s a long story.
My prediction: What’s coming in S8...
Look, what I want you to know is that it happened because I made it clear that I’m out. I’m done with those people and that life. But there are things that I did, and… and… and I might be done with those things, but I can’t promise you that those things are done with me. And I can’t promise you that it’s not gonna happen… tomorrow or next week or… or five years from now. And I would understand, frankly, if you didn’t want to deal with any of…
Ressler: Then we’ll deal with it.  Liz: We?
Tumblr media
I believe the “long story” of Gina will basically play on the opposite side of Dom’s “long story" of Ilya, and THAT story will be along soon enough. We will know the truth about Tom and Gina, Victor Fokin and both passport boxes before the show is over. I believe that’s why Liz pulled Tom’s box out of her vent just like she pulled a box out of Gina’s. I believe their truth will come at a time when all dominoes can tap one after the other. The suitcase arc is over. Scottie is the only enemy I see directly stemming from that arc. I believe Marvin could be taking part, but I don’t see him being powerful enough to act as a big bad. The Townsend Directive won’t return immediately - if they return at all. Whoever they introduce as the next big bad, I fully believe they’ll be connected to Tom Keen, and likely reintroduce Gina’s role. I believe Solomon will be the one revealing all because he worked with the Cabal before he went to work for Scottie - and both coincidentally connect in 3x17... the last time we saw or heard of Gina. So yeah, I believe Scottie and Solomon will be the next (and final) big bad and my Tom dominoes will fall throughout the entire arc, pulling full circle back to the pilot.
Tumblr media
To see my memory wipe theory, rewatch 2x18 to 2x22. Take note to the order of things - who’s present and where, but pay closer attention to 2x20. I believe Tom made his first move toward the second memory wipe in that particular episode.
Scene 1.
Tom and Liz were at the gym, questioning the Russian for her mother’s identity. Both of them left knowing Red’s alias - Bill Kershaw. For Liz, all she had to do was return to Red’s flat because she was already there in 2x19. For Tom to find its location, he had to follow Liz when she left, or find someone to do an Aram-like intel search for properties rented under Red’s Kershaw alias. I believe he followed Liz to Red’s flat.
Scene 2.
They didn’t show whether Tom and Liz drove to the gym together, nor did they show whether Tom and Liz drove from the gym together. From the gym, we see Liz in Red’s flat - alone. Red and Dembe are viewing her on surveillance via the ipad. We’re not shown what became of Tom after the gym - where he was at the same time Liz raided a place where Red keeps all of his secrets - which would include contact information for Dr. Krilov.
Scene 3.
Red, Liz, and Dembe were then shown together. Red and Liz were discussing the photograph while Dembe observed at the doorway. Neither were watching his surveillance via the ipad. They didn’t even show whether Red or Dembe made sure the surveillance cameras were set to continue recording. The writers pretty much left an opening where Tom could’ve broken into Red’s flat after Liz left it, and his break-in went undetected because Red’s cameras weren’t yet set to record at that particular time.
Add in what we already know. The fact that a truth about Red was removed from her memory and Red wasn't the one who removed it speaks volumes. I believe this person betrayed Red, and in doing so, needed to betray Liz by taking her to Dr. Krilov. Keep all of this in mind, return to Red’s shooting at the end of 2x18, then continue rewatching to 2x22. Every bit of my memory wipe theory follows through to current storyline.

Imposters, false identites, fake deaths Seasons 1 & 2
It would take too long for me to list every alias Red, Liz, and Tom has ever used. So yeah ... add all of those in if you feel like making up your own list. General Ludd has his aliases taped to the wall of his storage unit. If I’ve missed any for seasons 1 & 2, feel free to add.
Ranko Zamani aka  Sacha M. Chacko: 1x1
Cooper: Ranko Zamani’s been dead for six years. He’s a non–existent threat. Red: Then a dead man just stepped off United 283 from Munich to Dulles.
Donald Ressler acting as The Courier: 1x5
Ressler: Is this what you need to see? You want to watch me bleed, see if I react? I’ve already lost the only thing in this world I’ve ever loved. I have nothing in this world, except this job. Dechambou: Impressive. Except for one mistake. If the Iranian is dead, the real Courier would have killed me too. Which makes me wonder - Who the hell are you?
Gina Zanetakos aka Shubie Hartwell: 1x6 Liz: According to Reddington, her real name is Gina Zanetakos. Nearly a year ago, she reached out to him as Shubie Hartwell. She wanted Red to broker a deal to assassinate a supreme court judge who was the swing vote in a case that could have cost her corporate clients billions.
Nathaniel Wolff, multiple identities: 1x8
Ressler: But we’ve got Nathaniel Wolff’s fingerprints all over the place. Two different people, both with the exact same print? You can’t change his fingerprints. Liz: He changed his face.
Garrick & Shining Path: 1x9
Red: He liberated Mahmoud Al Azok from an Alcatraz–like CIA black site in the Bering Sea. Meera: That was Shining Path, a splinter cell. Azok has ties to a Caribbean money launderer. Red: No. That was Garrick, paid by that same Peruvian money launderer to make it appear as though Shining Path broke him out. It was Garrick.
Pytor & Catherine Madrczyk. Eric, Molly, and Annie Trettel: 1x12
Liz: You have eyes on the target? Meera: Target is dead. Hold tight while I look for his ghost.
Bobby Jonica & Aiko Tanida: 1x16
Red: Aiko Tanida died the day his brother was captured by Ressler’s task force. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn’t know the difference between a water buffalo and a musk ox.
Ivan & Harrison Lee: 1x17
Ivan: It wasn’t me. Red: Then who was it? Ivan: I don’t know, but he’s been using my name.
Christopher Maly aka Craig Keen: 1x18
Red: Of course you can. I have a fingerprint. Benson ran it, got a name. She says the print belongs to a Craig Keen. Well, Craig Keen is an alias – a very good one at that, complete with a credit rating, school and medical records, passports with a long history - all the trimmings. What do you know about touch DNA?
Liz: I know who you are. I know about the time you did at Wasco. I know about the warrants. I know about you, Christopher Maly. Somebody provided you with an identity, a history, embedded you into my life. I want to know who, and I want to know why.
Berlin & Fake Berlin: 1x21 & 1x22
Liz: The man you killed wasn’t Berlin. Red: Yes, I know.
Nora & Rowan Mills: 2x1
Liz: Nora killed Rowan because she envied her. She wanted to become her. She wanted to be the good sister, the sister who didn’t get abused by her uncle. Nora/Rowan: You’re lying. Nobody murdered Rowan! I’m Rowan!
Tom Keen & Jacob Phelps: 2x1
Liz: My husband was an impostor, a fake. Keen was never his name.
Carla Reddington aka Naomi Hyland, 2x4
Naomi: Carla Reddington was a miserable housewife married to a miserable man. That woman no longer exists.
Liz and her stand-in: 2x5 Woman: Is he out there? Liz: Yeah. I’m going out back. This is for last week. Do it one more week, and I’ll pay you double. I’ll be back in one hour.
Ace & The Mombasa Cartel: 2x6
Red: There you are - Sean Salter. You went by the name “Ace” back then. You left Animal Underground two years before the Sitka Seven killings and subsequent trials. Lucky, that. But, then - you’ve always had a talent for well-timed exits. Well, it seems - Ace, there’s still some freaks up there living in the woods, skinning people and dumping them in the Bay.
Samar & The Scimitar: 2x7
Red: Because one of The Scimitar’s little-known aliases is Walid Abu Sitta. Samar: Walid Abu Sitta is the man who ordered the bombing that killed my brother. Red: Yes. That’s why I brought this case to you.
Alan Fitch & The Decembrist: 2x8
Liz: The Decembrist. His real name is Kiryl Morozov.
Red: You’re not The Decembrist. Morozov: It was the American. It was him. They gave the order! Red: What people? Morozov: I can’t say. Red: Who is The Decembrist? Morozov: Fitch. His name is Alan Fitch.
Zoe Dantonio, Berlin's daughter: 2x8
Red: You ordered the bombing in Kursk. Then you pinned it on me. You blamed me for killing his daughter. Some years ago, a copy of this photo was left on the corpse of an associate of mine. Taking it as a warning, I traced the girl to a man they call The Stewmaker. He told me a story about the girl. She was sent to him by a man she’d never met. She was in trouble, needed to disappear. So he took her photo, put it in a locket, and sent it to her father. All those years spent searching for the man who supposedly murdered his daughter, and it was you. You sat here in this very room and pretended you had no idea who Berlin was or why he was coming for me. He was coming, Alan, because you sent him.
Tracy Solobotkin & The Deer Hunter
Tracy: All those women Whitehaven had helped, just like me - I could give them their lives back by becoming him.
Liz: You’re just like your husband. Tracy: I’m nothing like my husband! Liz: You’re exactly like him - like all the sick, psychopathic animals we lock up. Tracy: Oh, you haven’t heard a word that I’ve been saying. Liz: I’ve heard every word “I could give them back their lives.” Why don’t you just admit it? You get off on killing people. It doesn’t matter if the victim’s a scumbag or a saint - you get off just the same, just like your husband.
Vanessa Cruz: 2x18
Hernandez: They found her folded clothing at Rockaway Beach. They never found a body, but I know she was dead. She’d never abandon me.
Aram: Guys, check it out. The detectives and the lawyers may not have found anything conclusive on their own, but if you put the photos they found together - Our ghost has a face.
Liz: Our ghost has a name Vanessa Cruz. If I can find the person who brokered her -
Elizabeth Keen aka Masha Rostova: 2x20
Liz: The girl - The night of the fire, they called her - Red: Masha. You were born in Moscow.
Andropov acting as Karakurt: 2x21
Red: Now, that’s what’s interesting. He orders you to send them to Union Station, ostensibly to throw them off Karakurt’s trail. Cooper: And there he is. Red: Perhaps Agent Keen was mistaken. Cooper: And assaulted by a total stranger? That makes even less sense. It was some kind of ambush. And I sent my people right into it.
Karakurt acting as a news reporter: 2x22 Karakurt: How many times are we gonna go through this? That picture isn’t me. Call my office. Check my visa, check my identity. Ressler: We know you’re working for the Cabal. We know what they’re capable of. Liz: Was this the plan all along, to protect you with this identity? The Cabal has people in the government all over the world. It wouldn’t be hard for them to create a Jonas Flemming, give him a history.
