It seems the people of Bingtown think that Hest is hiding out in Kelsingra with Sedric and that his family has been disgraced, which implies that it’s known exactly what kind of relationship they had. I wonder if Alise actually wrote her family and told them? I hope she did and Hest died in ignominy.

So Paragon told Alise and Leftrin that at the moment, “breeding” would be productive for them, and Brashen implied that’s a fixation of his. Does that mean liveships can track ovulation in their passengers? If so that is fucking horrifying

Awww Alise is finally marrying Leftrin!

This is probably a bit too on the nose but also the only time I have ever liked Sedric

Alise AND Sedric both standing up to Hest and ignoring his veiled threats is on one hand pretty cathartic but on the other hand kind of cheesy and “revenge fantasy you have in the shower” feeling

Leftrin and Alises reunion was so sweet they continue to be the best couple

Alise the scholar is back! No longer letting Rapskals bullshit about how she doesn’t belong get her down!

All this talk of Elderlings being a different species than humans is making me sad for Alise and Leftrin, who are going to end up as the token humans at the bottom of the pile living on the outskirts of an Elderling city doing their drudge work

Alise has surprised me in that instead of falling into a personal crisis and giving up after what she assumed would be her purpose no longer became possible, she’s decided to start over and claim a new life for herself
