I think this idea extends beyond the energy and enthusiasm, the ideas and inspiration that fuel the process along. ——————————————- Another way I’m seeing this pattern play out is between the edges of *too much* and *not enough*. —————————————— Yesterday I to have a word with my inner slave driver. And that word was “NOPE.” 🤭 —————————————— I’m catching up with myself today after a day lost to stupid battles with technology and looming deadlines. It’s no good when I get behind on things, it literally wakes me up in the night, i dream crazy exaggerated versions of what’s going on in the awake world. —————————————— So today I cancelled the plans I’d made, and freed up some space to catch up with myself. Accepted I’ve fallen behind a day, if that was anyone else I’d be full of ‘holy cow you did 58 days straight’ more than ‘you just missed one’. Using really watery acrylic over mixed layers of paints and inks makes the paint bead up and form patterns on the surface within each brush stroke. day 51 of #the100dayproject #100layersbyMixy —————————————— What I like the call determination and persistence are probably just stubbornness. It feels like that’s showing through in this project. 😳 —————————————— It’s what keeps me turning up, posting every day, painting every spare moment. It’s also what made me carry on beyond the point I could have called it finished, before going too far. —————————————— It’s what is pushing me through this stage where I feel like this painting is irrevocably over done, by throwing yellow ink and more layers of paint at it, and doing my best to enjoy the process. —————————————— We all know it’s not realistic to expect to enjoy every step of a journey. But being realistic is usually something I avoid at all costs.
