The quintessential power couple. Gordon's the grump, and Henry's the nice one.

Again blue and green, a nice color pairing. Also, both of these guys are big engines, so they've got that going for them. They can both probably pick each other up.

I am intrigued by the notion of Murdoch the "You're a Chatty Lot" Engine falling for James. Not least, how does the giant react when he first hears Gordon harrumph "You talk too much, little James"?

1. Well as I’ve said, James fell for Murdoch first, and HARD.

First meeting him, Murdoch would just see James quivering and shrinking in his presence, offering to get his trucks for him. He asks around, “Oh, Number Five with the red paint? He seems like a good sort. Is he?”

Everything clicks for everyone else instantly. If it’s an engine James is POLITE TO, and OFFERS TO GET TRUCKS SORTED FOR, and it’s a big strong engine like Murdoch, something’s up.

Murdoch is amused. If what everyone says about his nature is true, and he provoked such a change in James, he must really mean a lot to James. Does James mean a lot to him? Well, he’s funny, and has a cute habit of tripping up on his own hubris, and he also likes country runs, and he’s a lovely shade of red, and… oh😳

Gordon: “You talk too much, little James.”

Murdoch: “No. No, he doesn’t.”

Gordon: “Well, if you knew him li—“

Murdoch: “He’s fine. Leave him😡.”

Gordon: “…Well.😨”

Gordon: *clears his throat* “N-Now, err, HENREH, been a while since we chewed the fat, eh? How’ve you been getting on?🧐”
