The first time Klee met Albedo she thought he was a prince. Being a small young imaginative girl she made the only reasonable action and asked him to marry her.

He was super embarrassed but also extremely flattered. He had never been approached like this before and found its endearing because he could tell she was asking earnestly.

He let her down easy with 'Why don't I be your big brother instead?' Knowing that would still make her a princess she agreed. Thus their close relationship began.

At the beginning of their relationship Albedo would draw little comics of Klee as a princess going on various adventures. And Klee would draw her own comics adding Albedo into the story. And they'd go back and forth like that for a while.

Thorough the story Princess Klee slowly turned into the Knight Klee and then eventually the Spark Knight. Klee liked the name so much she ask to make it her official title.

Extra thought: Klee also asked for Kaeya's hand. Only he'd agreed, but told her she'd have to wait untill she's older before they could offically marry. Lisa probably laughed asking Klee to be her bride too. And Jean would just stand there mortified by the situation.
