I've been working on this (wip) playlist on my breaks from button making. It could probably be split into three separate playlists (Sidestep, Heartbreak, and romances) once it's done but I ain't doing that tbqh
It's pretty much chronological up to track 18, and then all the ChargeStep and SteelStep songs start. In no particular order.

sharing a short dousy video edit i made.
i don't know why but i really like this and thought i'd share it on here too.
should i rant about what goes in my head while making this video? no. will i? yes.
basically the song is beginning middle end by leah nobel from to all the boys i've loved before part 3. this song is basically about two people falling in love from the early years of their lives. since lara jean and peter met when they were kids. but then started (fake) dating in high school and their adventure together started right then and there. anyway, watch the movies if you haven't already. this song fits lara jean and peter so well (i don't know if it was written specifically for them or not).
but daisy and sousa didnt meet when they were kids because of one obvious reason: when daisy was a kid, sousa's dead; and when sousa was a kid, daisy hadn't been born yet. they weren't supposed to meet. so their journey started off separately.
daisy's beginning in shield was rocky, to say the least. but she found a home there with coulson, fitzsimmons and may (i'll get to ward) in season 1. they bonded quite quickly, mainly daisy skye and coulson. i think it shifts when she got shot by ian quinn. everyone in the team, especially ward was terrified and angry at the situation. now. she had a relationship with miles early on in the season, which was broken off. but within the context of the song, her beginning was ward. he was her s.o. she was falling for him when she uncovered that he's hydra. add that trauma to the ones she already had prior to shield. no wonder she has trust issues.
her middle was her powers. even though the story started early in the series, it's still the middle. because she struggled with her powers throughout seasons 2 - 5. the middle would always be the bulk of it all. it's where everything happens. it's the crux of a character, of a person. it's where daisy became daisy. now, in the middle of her middle (pun very much intended), was lincoln. the first inhuman who helped her and understood her. i'm sure they've got their own problems and everything, but it doesn't change the fact that he was someone who knew what she's going through. none of her found family could help her the way he could. this is where i think it gets interesting. seasons 2 - 5, where i said was her middle, and basically the peak/climax of daisy as a character, she was falling for and fell for lincoln. it was known that daisy was still in love with lincoln in season 5. possibly around 2 years after he died. but then we found out that she had moved on from lincoln in the beginning of season 6.
season 6 and 7 is the end of her journey with the team. they're still a family. just a family who occassionally see each other. now in season 6, like i mentioned previously, it was acknowledged that daisy had moved on. the past will always be with her, no doubt. the trauma would stick. hopefully just bits and pieces. but it would still be there until she either had alzheimer's, dementia, any other retrograde amnesia injuries or diseases, or the day she died. she would never forget lincoln or ward, heck even miles. she won't forget her past. unless it was taken away from her. so, back to the topic at hand, she wanted her own fitz. she had grown from the woman she was in the beginning, she had grown from the woman and superhero that she was in the middle. she knows who she is now. with the people she worked with. and the people she calls her family. and also with anyone. daisy's ending was perfect (to me at least). she wasn't looking for love right then and there. she was burnt one too many times. but she wanted that kind of love and support. the love and support that fitz and simmons have for each other. something that daisy lacked all her life. she ended up with someone who gave her what she wanted. and what she needed.
with sousa, it's a little different. because we didn't get to see much of his background and family life. we didn't get to know what his life was like during the war and before the war. we begin to see him in the ssr. we all knew, literally everyone knew, even the characters knew that sousa's practically in love with peggy. except for maybe peggy herself. but i'm sure she had an inkling. she definitely had an inkling. but then things go on and he became chief of the west coast office and he was in los angeles while peggy was in new york. he moved on (or so we thought). he started dating violet and was ready to marry her. he told her he loved her. and he did. it's just that he was also in love with peggy. still. and violet saw that. it's as clear as day. and they broke it off.
we didn't get to see much of sousa's middle. mainly because ac wasn't renewed for a third season. which was such a waste because it ended with so many things left unanswered. but we know that between 1947 - 1955, peggy and sousa broke up. we have no idea why. we don't know if steve was back. nada. all we know is that they broke up. when did they break up? again. no idea. but we know that peggy means a lot to sousa. she's like (sorta; i don't like making comparisons but anyway) sousa's lincoln in a way (i'm not saying that they're the exact replica. daisy/lincoln and peggy/sousa are quite different. but they do have similarities. those pairings are the kind where they want to be together forever but knew that it wouldn't work; my interpretation). she didn't die, we know that. but she's sort of the one that got away. my guess is that it's because shield and the world was more important than each other. which wasn't dissimilar to daisy and lincoln's situation. so, yes. peggy's sousa's middle. she influenced him a lot. and he found himself amidst ssr and shield (just like daisy did).
sousa's end was again, perfect. he went to the future. got to see what the organisation he helped build came to be. he went on an adventure to explore space. which he would geek out over. instead of dying, he got to live. with the love of his (new) life. he may be a man out of time, but with daisy and their ragtag family, he is right where he belongs.
daisy and sousa began with "who the hell are you" and ended with "it's beautiful" (just putting this here because i love that fact).
so. they started pretty quickly, didn't they? 4 episodes in and sousa fell in love with daisy. 7 episodes in and daisy fell in love with sousa. though i doubt that they thought they're in love. but they're falling. or walking towards it. 7x03 was when they met. it's where it all began. in area 51 of all places (foreshadow much?). but what's even more interesting is that technically, they began twice. from daisy's perspective, they met in 6x13 (which plenty of people had pointed out; but @agents-of-fangirling was the most recent). even though they didn't actually meet because sousa was wearing that blue (seriously his colour really is blue) hazmat suit and daisy was disoriented (may dying and all that jazz). but from sousa's perspective, they met in 7x03. where they actually made eye contact and conversed. how many couples can say that the when of their first encounter was debatable?
now. their middle, in the video edit, i used the scene from 7x10. because i think that's a pretty good middle. they had their first first kiss. sousa had no idea that happened. yet, there he was, wanting to help. just like his time-loop self. he extended a hand and she accepted. she accepted help. do you know how much of a development that was??? because i think that it's a huge character development (i still haven't rewatched so don't take my word for it). i think that's a good depiction of their middle. oh yeah. before i forgot. they also had two first kisses. and again, i say, how many couples can say that they had two first kiss? figured i'd choose the scene in the middle of those first kisses (pun intended lmao).
sidenote: did y'all see the devastation in her eyes when sousa volunteered to stay in the 80s? or how her eyes went wide and she started to panic when he was injected in the time loops? sousa's a man of action. and when he says something, he means it. so, his constant concern over daisy and him wanting to help in any way he can, it's his love language.
and then we have their ending. the perfect end to an imperfect couple (because nobody's perfect *cue hannah montana*). daisy got sousa a typewriter. because he's from the 50s. since when did daisy buy gifts for her boyfriends/partners/lovers? and they watched e.t. together? that's normal couple things. even though they are far from normal. but they get to experience it all together. daisy didn't get to in the past. none that we know of anyway. and now she does. also, that smile when she talks about him. that fond smile that grazed her lips at the thought of him. i've never seen her smile like that before (none that i remember; and if she did, well then i'm so so happy for her). she looks happy. serene. and her saying "he's a dork" twice in the season just makes my heart burst with happiness for them.
sidenote: my headcannon is that "he's a dork" is code for "i love him too much to explain it in words."
i'd like to believe that even though it has ended, their story has just begun. they're going through their middle right now. and i hope that they won't end. in other words, their end was not an ending. it was a beginning of a new life.
as daisy said, "we're loving the journey together." keyword: journey. it's a long road up ahead. with countless of challenges and obstacles in the way. but in the end, all that matters is that they face it together.
that's it. thanks for coming to my ted talk (for those who actually read it all the way through, i love you).

I highly encourage you to listen to the song before, during or after you read! Let me know if you want to be added to the taglist, and feedback is greatly appreciated!
Summary: You were able to get out of your toxic relationship, now you need to get out of the state.
Tumblr media
“Pick Up. Pick Up. Pick Up.” You whispered into the phone as you waited for your cousin to answer.
You were trembling. Your boyfriend, now ex, had stormed out of his small one bedroom apartment that you often stayed at, telling you to “think about what you said”. You weren’t sure when he was coming back. What you were sure of is that you needed to get out of this house. This city. This state. Immediately.
“Hello?”
“Rey.” You let out a breath of relief. “I did it.” Your lip started to quiver.
Rey sighed and paused a moment before replying. “Oh, Y/N. Good.”
You had done it. After being in a toxic relationship for nearly three years, you were able to cut it off. You had wanted to do this for a while. For a year into your relationship, actually. But you never had the strength to. You were scared. Finally, after a loud outburst and the breaking of a mirror, you told him you were done.
“I need to leave.” You said softly. “I need to get out of here.”
“I know. Can you go to Jessikas?” She asked soothingly.
“I meant out of this state.” You responded immediately.
Silence. “Y/N…”
“I know. I’ve lived here my entire life. But that’s the point. I need to start over. I know that I have Jess and the rest of the gang. And I know I have Mom and Dad but I just...everything is going to remind me of him. The last three years of my life have been nothing but-” You were struggling to breath, sobbing now.
“Y/N. Y/N shh, I know, it’s okay. Deep breath.”
You had lived in New York City since you were born. Every school you went to, friends you made, relationships you had. All of your memories were made in that city. But for the last three years, all of the good seemed to be replaced by the bad and you weren’t sure if you could handle walking down a street without seeing a pizza parlor and thinking about the time that Kyle had yelled at you for not buying him the right size pizza. You also were just worried that he wouldn’t leave you alone if you stayed. You needed to get out.
“C-can I come stay with you?” You asked nervously, breathing starting to return back to normal.
Rey was your cousin, but she was more like a sister. You had been close as you two could be. You had grown up together, you two even went to high school together. Sure, you bickered sometimes, but at the end of the day she was your number one. You went to her for everything. Four years ago, right before you got into your relationship with Kyle, Rey had moved to Florida to attend the University of Miami and work towards her degree in engineering and you felt like a part of you was missing. You had stayed in New York to attend NYU, majoring in english with a music minor. That’s where you met Kyle and everything shifted.
You had graduated from NYU a semester early, so you wouldn’t have to worry about missing school. You just had to worry about missing your hometown.
“Y/N… I don’t know. I’m still taking classes and I don’t know how my roommates would feel.” Rey answered you. You let out a sad sigh.
“Please? I have money saved from interning at the music studios. I’ll help pay rent. I’ll sleep on the couch. I’ll do anything I just.. I need to get out of here. Please.” You were desperate at this point.
There was a pause before you heard Rey sigh. “Alright. Alright, yeah. I’ll talk to Rose and Connie. You can stay until you get your feet on the ground, we have a pull out couch that turns into a bed. But, Y/N, this isn’t a place to just lounge around. You need to find work.” Her voice was firm. You understood.
“I know. Thank you. Thank you Rey. I’m, uh. I’m gonna talk to my mom and I’ll text you my plans. I love you. Thank you. Thank you, Rey.” Tears started to well up again.
“I love you too. Keep me updated.” And with that she hung up.
You took a deep breath, putting your phone in your back pocket before wiping away the remaining tears that had escaped your eyes.
You knew this was going to be a big change. Moving from New York to Miami never really crossed your mind until today. You had wanted to get out of your relationship for a while, but more recently you had realized that you needed to start over, and moving in with Rey was the perfect way to.
You weren’t sure how to break the news to your parents, or even your best friends, but you knew that this needed to be done. You were an adult, and it was time for you to start your life.
You stood up from the hallway of Kyle's apartment you were sitting at, moving into his bedroom before grabbing your bag and quickly packing up the clothes and other belongings you had kept at his place for when you would stay over. You were still living at your parents house, but for the last year Kyle would nearly force you to stay over, so it was practically both of yours apartment, though you weren’t paying rent.
When you had finished packing, you threw your spare key on the kitchen table and rushed out of the apartment building, not even leaving him a note. You didn’t need to. You never wanted to see him again. You hoped you wouldn’t, but he knew where your parents lived. You needed to do something fast.
You entered your home and without even speaking to your parents, you ran up the stairs and to your bedroom. Throwing your bag on the ground, you collapsed onto your bed and completely broke down. This morning you had no plans on leaving, but Kyle had cracked you, and now you were moving to Florida. You were moving to Florida. Were you really moving to Florida?
Your mom must have heard you rushing through the house, because she entered your room not long after you collapsed onto your bed.
“Hey. Hey what’s the matter?” She sat down on the side of your bed, placing her hand on your shoulder.
“I broke up with Kyle.” You said, nearly a whisper. The thing was, your mom had no idea what you had been going through. She thought you two were happy. Boy was she wrong.
“Oh, honey. What happened?” She asked, now rubbing your shoulder.
You shook your head. “Just...a lot of stuff built up. I needed to get out of there while I could.” You sat up and wiped your tears, leaning against your headboard. “I need to talk to you about something.”
She nodded. “Anything.”
“I’m going to Florida.” You said almost immediately, looking down at your hands.
She didn’t reply at first.
“I, um, I’m gonna move in with Rey. At least until I find a job and can afford my own place.”
She was confused as to why you had decided this all of a sudden, for this was never mentioned at all prior to today. “What made you decide that? You can’t just run away because you are going through a brea-”
“That’s not why, mom!” Yes it was.
“Then why?” Her voice rose to match your tone.
You took a deep sigh. “I’m 22 years old, mom. I need to start my own life. I can’t live at home anymore. I haven’t left the city at all! I want to explore new things. I want to be exposed to new opportunities. There are so many things to do in Florida, and I’ll be with Rey. She’ll help me.” You weren’t completely lying.
Your mother looked at you sternly before looking around your room. “I just wish I would have known about this sooner.”
“I know, I’m sorry.” If it makes you feel better, I didn’t even really know about it until about an hour ago.
“When are you leaving?” She asked, standing up and running her hand across the wood of your antique dresser she had bought you as a child.
“Soon. Within the week.” You nodded.
She nodded back. “Let me know if you need help packing.” She said before stepping out and heading back downstairs.
You closed your eyes and leaned back against the headboard. You had a decent relationship with your parents, but you were a closed off person and they had stopped asking questions about your personal life the moment you started school at NYU. Sure, your parents would miss you. You had lived with them your entire life up until now. But you were a grown adult. You could make your own decisions. You needed to move on.
By that night, you had bought a one way ticket to Miami. You weren’t sure when you would return to New York, or if you would return. You were planned to leave Thursday evening, which was two days from now. That gave you enough time to pack up and say your goodbyes. You wondered, though, if two days was too long. What would Kyle do if he found you? You were lucky he hadn’t come by your house that night. He’s probably out at some bar, you thought.
The next two days passed by fast, and Kyle hadn’t come to your house. Or, if he did, you didn’t know. You had spent the days walking through the city, passing your old schools, friends homes, parks, and even the recording studio that you had interned at. Yes, this city was suddenly becoming a place full of bad memories, but there was something about walking through the streets of New York that made you second guess yourself. The thought of completely starting over, leaving your friends and family, your home, was frightening. You had no idea what you would do in Florida. Hell, this idea came to you two days ago. You wondered if it would be worth it. But you were going to follow through. You needed to get away from this place. Away from him.
Kyle scarred you. In more ways than one. To the point where you had become numb. You knew that if you stayed, you wouldn’t be able to live with yourself. You were surprised you had been strong enough to get out of the relationship in the first place, so this was the perfect time to get out while you could. Especially before he found you.
You loved New York, you really did, but things began to feel stagnant, and your relationship with Kyle was only making it worse. It was time to see new things. And this was the perfect time to. You couldn’t carry on here. Especially after everything Kyle put you through. Sure it would take a while to adapt, but it was going to be worth it. Right?
Your friends weren’t sure exactly why you were leaving. They too did not know about your traumatic past with Kyle, so you told them that you had gotten a job offer in Florida that was starting right away. You refrained from details, leaving them still in confusion.
“Just, um, if Kyle asks… please don’t tell him where I am.” You said before leaving your best friend, Jessikas house. She nodded without question, tears forming her eyes before pulling you into a hug.
You sighed deeply before squeezing her tightly. “I love you. Keep in touch, okay?”.
She nodded before letting you go. Everyone in New York that you knew would never fully understand why you decided to up and leave, but you did. And that’s what mattered.
Your mom and dad both dropped you off at the airport. “Leaving now, is that the right thing?” Your dad asked as he took your bags out of the trunk, handing them to you.
“Who am I if I don’t try, dad? I need to be spontaneous. You taught me that.” You told him as you kissed his cheek.
He smiled softly before kissing your head. “Okay. Be safe. Text us when you get to Reys, okay?”
You nodded before sighing, looking at your mom. “Please don’t let Kyle know. This is my time to move on.” Truth was, you weren’t going to move on that fast. You weren’t sure when you would get over all the pain he put you through. But you could pretend for now. And moving was a start.
Your mom nodded back before hugging you goodbye and returning to the car with your dad. You waved goodbye before turning to walk inside the airport, tears beginning to sting your eyes. You were terrified. Maybe you weren’t ready for this.
It can’t go wrong. I’m starting over. I have nothing to lose, you thought to yourself.
Before you knew it, you were sitting in a crowded aircraft, sighing to yourself as the captain began speaking.
“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, this is your Captain Poe Dameron speaking and I am accompanied by first officer Snap Wexley. We are looking at about a two and a half hour flight. Shouldn’t be too bumpy as it looks like clear skies! So sit back, relax and enjoy this short trip to Miami, Florida.”

In My Head, We Belong (Gigi/Crystal) Chapter One - Zyan
Summary: Gigi tries to keep her feelings for Crystal as a secret, while juggling orders, her side job as a seamstress, helping her very clueless friend Jan ask an equally clueless Jaida out on a proper date and begging Silky, Heidi and Dusty to please stop their Who Can Cook Faster competition.
a/n: new fic who dis. I’m back back back again! The new season really has sparked my creative juices :) This began as a small request I did on my blog and it turned out into a very fluffy universe. I hope you like it! Much like Genie AU, I’m having a lot of fun writing this. 💖 Frey is the bestest beta, and y'all can find me over at @chachkisalpaca. The title comes from the Doja Cat’s song “Streets.”
Widow’s restaurant might not be a five star one - or four even - but she keeps it neat and clean, the walls get painted whenever Widow spots the tiniest of cracks in the paint, and she’s got a handful of regular patrons. She’s also the best boss Gigi has ever had.
She makes sure they all eat a good meal before beginning with their shifts, pays them a little extra the nights they’re full and still manage to serve all customers as good as they can, understands when they can’t come to work for whatever the reason might be, and doesn’t need much explanations when they request a night off, because she trusts her girls. As far as the staff is aware, Widow is an angel disguised as a human.
They’re usually full on Saturdays, the kitchen turning into a war zone as Dusty, Heidi, and Silky try to get the waitresses orders ready, sometimes competing between each other who’ll gets their order ready the fastest. For a moment it’s amusing to the waitresses, until they get carried away and have to be reminded that it’s not time for their foolishness, it’s time for dinner.
This Saturday though, it’s almost empty - a couple with their kids being the only clients they’ve gotten so far, since a storm broke loose.
“Well, the weather man did say we’re gonna have a few days with rain,” Jan comments, standing in the tip of her toes to watch the rain from the window of the back door.
“Yeah, but this is not Singing in The Rain type of rain, this is like, I dunno, Sharknado kinda weather,” Crystal replies, throwing a green nine to the table. Jaida huffs and reaches for a card in the pile before passing.
“Have you ever seen Sharknado?” Heidi asks; her brows are knitted in a confused frown as she throws a green +2. Silky bangs her fist on the table, proceeding to frantically search for a card to kill off Heidi’s.
“… No,” Crystal admits at the same time Silky slams a +4. “Fuck! I hate y’all,” she groans as she draws six cards from the pile. Heidi and Silky high five with smug smiles and giggle.
Gigi watches them, completely amused, leaning against the door frame. She’s not sure if they should be playing Uno during work hours, despite not being a single soul around, but Widow gives them more liberties than a boss normally does. Hell, sometimes she’s the one to come into the kitchen with a Uno deck, asking if anyone wanna play.
“I’d join, but I feel like Heidi and Silky have some sort of trickery going on,” Brianna says, mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, glancing up at them from time to time.
Gigi looks at the pair, noticing the looks they share from time to time and cocks a brow. She’s not even surprised; Heidi and Silky are a competitive duo, though Heidi shows it a lot less.
“Do you think one of them is sitting on a bunch of +2 cards?” Gigi asks, stifling a giggle. Brianna snorts, locking her phone.
“Most likely, it’s like the fourth time they made Crystal pick up since they started playing. Notice how suspicious it is that she hasn’t picked any +2 or +4 yet?” She comments just as Jaida slams a card on the table, yelling ‘Uno’.
Gigi snickers; though she prefers full nights because it’s a good moment for tips, she doesn’t mind when once in a while it’s completely deserted and they get to relax and have fun together.
Though that fun results in Crystal throwing her cards to the ground after a collective work between Jaida, Heidi, and Silky in which each of them throws a +4; she abandons the game saying she’ll never play again with them. She goes over to Brianna and Gigi with her arms folded and a childish pout.
“Please, tell me I’m not the only one that believes they’re cheating,” she says as she looks back at Silky and Heidi. They’re now battling against each other to see who the final loser is, and it’s honestly hilarious.
“I wouldn’t be surprised; I’m used to them cheating whenever we play anything. They’re competitive bitches,” Gigi replies, Crystal laughs softly and Gigi smiles to herself.
Sometimes the fact that she’s still there after two years surprises her; she’d never thought she’d actually like this job and her co-workers, considering them her second family.
She also has feelings for one of the members of said family, but she’ll never say that out loud.
Gigi’s so distracted by her thoughts, she doesn’t hear Jackie behind the door, almost falling on her back if it wasn’t for her.
“Wow! You okay, G?” She asks with a concerned voice. Gigi nods, and Jackie helps her stabilize herself. “Girls, please clean this up, believe it or not we’ve got clients. Silk, they ordered two menus of the day; can you take care of it?”
Silky stares at Jackie for solid five seconds before slowly starting to get up and all of a sudden there are several Uno cards spilled all across the floor. Well, guess Brianna was right.
“You cheating bitch! I knew you had something up in your sleeve,” Crystal exclaims, completely offended.
“Or your ass,” Jaida points out with a laugh, kneeling to pick up the cards. “You are one shady bitch, someone remind me to tell Widow to ban you from the Uno games.”
“Ban who from Uno?” Widow asks as she enters the kitchen. Jaida points at Silky, telling her about the cheating. Widow clicks her tongue. “Silky, I’ve told you already; if you’re gonna cheat, put those cards in your thighs, not ass!” Widow scolds, but soon she’s loudly laughing along with Silky.
Jackie pinches the bridge of her nose, counts until ten, and claps her hands, hurrying Silky to get her orders ready. Then, Widow remembers why she stepped into the kitchen in the first place.
“The storm is getting really bad; does everyone have a way to get home safely? I wouldn’t mind going out of my way to drop some of y’all off,” she offers, speaking loud enough so everyone in the kitchen can hear her.
“My grandpa lent me his car because he heard it’d rain today. I could also drop some of y’all home,” Dusty pipes up from the other side of the room.
“I came here with Jesus and an umbrella, so I’ll take any of you two on that,” Heidi says, looking back and forth between Dusty and Widow.
“Well, John is picking me up today, so I guess I’ll pass.” Crystal shrugs, and Gigi knits her brows in a frown.
“Who’s John?” Gigi asks before she can stop herself. Crystal looks at her with a toothy smile that may or may not make her heart sting a little.
“Oh, he’s a guy I met at a friend’s birthday party. We’ve been going out for like, two weeks or so. I thought everyone knew, I’ve pretty much annoyed everyone during Friday’s lunch shift talking about him,” she explains excitedly, and Gigi has to restrain herself from letting her devastation show on her face.
“I’m not on the lunch shifts, just the night ones,” she simply says, and the topic soon goes back to the previous one, Gigi remaining silent for most of the conversation, except to say she’d appreciate a ride home.
The rest of the night remains uneventful, since they’ve got no other clients. They close early, and they only leave when Crystal’s guy arrives, the redhead quickly says goodbye to all of them as she climbs inside his car with a big smile.
As she stares out the window, watching how the streets empty more and more, Gigi thinks she couldn’t be upset with Crystal for going out with people, since she isn’t planning on confessing her feelings to her.
It doesn’t mean it hurt any less, though.

Chapter 11 - You Again
The gang of teenagers stood frozen in front of an old wooden shack, face-to-face with a snarling, mossy creature with burning eyes. Her dog?! That thing was her dog?!
"Nobody… moves..." - MC whispered.
"We can't just stand here! We've got to do something!" - Stacy said back with a rushed nervous tone.
"Do what?! That thing is huge!" - Lucas tilted his head slightly to the growling monster.
Behind the creature, Cora Pritchard, also known as 'Pritch the Witch', glared at them with arms crossed:
"Well? You punks going to explain what you're doing here in the middle of the damn night? Or are we doing this the hard way?"
"I-is the hard way getting eaten by your creepy skeleton monster?" - Lily asked the question that popped in everyone's minds.
"Don't be simple. Ugly thing ain't even got a stomach. He'll just chew you up and spit you out somewhere. Somewhere off my property."
"Super. We finally have a lead, and now her creepy pet is gonna kill us." - Ava scowled, less than pleased.
Andy looked to each of his friends' face in doubt. "If we scatter, it can't kill all of us… right?"
"Let's get out of here!" - Noah was trembling in fear from heads to toes, but somehow he found his voice and still hadn't shit his own pants. - "If she can control that monster, she's probably in league with him."
The old woman frowned in confusion. "'Him'? What nonsense are you… oh." - she stopped short and realisation seemed to fell on her. - "Oh hell." - then, she whistled sharply, and the mossy creature backed down to her. - "It's you, isn't it? You're the idiots who went and woke up Redfield."
"So you do know about him!" - Stacy ignored MC's statement and murmured:
"Please, we're sorry for trespassing, but… we need your help."
Lucas nodded and took a small step towards the with. "We're kind of desperate, actually. Any information you have about Redfield's history or his powers would be incredibly helpful."
"History? I'll do you one better than that. I'm gonna tell you how to lock that bastard away for good." - and then, she simply turned and stepped inside the old cabin.
The teenagers looked at each others' faces, still not believing what had just happened. Pritch the Witch  was actually going to help them?
Summoning all their courage, MC followed the old woman. Their friends did the same, entering the house. Dark shelves lined the walls, neatly packed with strange stones, dusty tomes, bottles of herbs, and skulls.
"Whoa… this is… interesting." - MC commented, trying to sound kind. Ava leaned in closer to Noah and Lily and whispered with a grin on her lips, eyes sparkling with the sight of all those old and creepy things:
"I want this house to be my house."
"Don't touch anything." - Cora's tone was almost a threat. Lucas grimaced, examining a jar with some kind of preserved organ floating inside:
"Fine by me."
Then, the old woman poured several cups from a cast-iron teapot and handed each one of the kids one. MC sniffed the cup, wrinkling to their nose at the bitter aroma. "Um, is this... Earl Grey?"
"This look like some kinda princessy tea house to you?" - Cora snapped back at them as she eased into a well-worn armchair, her creature settling to the floor beside her like a faithful hound. - "Drink your damn tea. Or give it to the dog. I don't care."
Silence stretched as all of them sipped the tea, staring back at each other with unsure looks. Noah was so nervous that he thought it was better to just drink his tea instead of saying anything stupid and risking annoying the old lady. He still felt a little terrified by her. Though her tea was damn good.
"Um… Miss Pritchard? I can't help but notice… it sounded like you know who we are." - Lily finally spoke up.
"'Course I do. Power's been sleeping quiet these past ten years, but I knew someone had broken the spell that bound it."
"If that's true… why didn't you come find us?" - Stacy asked. Andy agreed with the cheerleader.
"Yeah, why wait 'til we came to you?"
"'Cause the Power knows me, boy. I've only survived this long because I know how to hide from it. How'd you finally find me, anyway?"
"We found this at the library..." - MC pulled Cora's picture book out of their bag.
"Took ya long enough. I published that damn book eight years ago. Won an award and everything. Figured as soon as you recognized the creatures in there, you'd come running. Guess I overestimated you."
"Uh… sorry."
The woman grunted, sipping her tea. Ava tossed back her own tea in one swallow, holding out her cup for a refill. "Okay, you said the Power knows you. What does that mean?"
"This one pays attention. I like her." - the witch was almost smirking.
"Teacher's pet." - Noah whispered teasingly to Ava, who flashed her middle finger at him while Cora poured her another cup of tea.
"Most of my life, I've been part of a group that watches over these woods… and the Power that lives inside." - she started explaining. - "We guarded the Power and kept it secret. In return, it took care of us."
"You mean it gave you abilities?" - MC asked. She nodded.
"You catch on quick, kid. We were able to take a little of the Power into ourselves, granting us certain skills… but only if we followed the rules."
"Well, that explains Twiggy over here." - Andy pointed to the moss creature, which growled back at him. Stacy's mouth fell open.
"Hang on, you made that thing?!"
"Do you have other powers too?"
"Absolutely not. I make constructs, like this ugly beast here… but only one at a time." - Cora answered MC's question. - "Others could levitate things or talk to beasts and whatnot, but there's only so much power a person can hold without going…" - she scowled into her teacup. - "...strange."
"...Someone got greedy, didn't they? Someone tried to use too much of the Power."
"Idiot… we told him what would happen. He saw the shadows wandering the woods at night… leftovers from other greedy idiots. But no, he thought he knew better than us. Now look at him. Fused with the Power itself, not a scrap of humanity left." - MC shuddered beside the Noah, rubbing the still-tender bruise on their wrist where Redfield grabbed them. He squeezed their shoulder, trying to make it seem like a reassuring gesture, though he still felt a little nervous on being in that old creepy-ass cabin. Cora watched them intently, one eyebrow raised. - "Looks like things are worse than I thought. We've got to move quickly." - she suddenly heaved herself out of her chair and started bustling around the room, taking down jars and bunches of herbs. - "Someone find the jar of powdered bloodstone. And you, put those goblets on the table." - she pointed to the boy with the beanie.
"Oh, uh… these?" - he retrieved a pair of ornate goblets from a nearby case and set them on the low table. The witch shooed them aside, then started mixing various powders and herbs into the two goblets, the teenagers gathering around her, watching what she was doing intently.
"Okay… I get that we're 'moving quickly' here, but maybe can you pump the brakes for a sec? How are we gonna stop Redfield." - Andy broke the silence.
"Yeah, I'd like to know what exactly we're getting into." - the Class President agreed with the Asian boy. - "What's the plan? Will you be assisting us?"
"What does it look like I'm doing? Making a casserole?" - she scowled as she added a pinch of ash to each goblet, then started scribbling furiously on a notepad. - "I can tell you how to bind Redfield, but you're gonna have to go into those woods and perform the spell yourselves."
"What? But we can't… I mean, how are we supposed to do that? We're not witches or whatever."
"Speak for yourself." - Ava told the cheerleader.
"We might not have powers… but Cora's right. We have to do this ourselves." - MC's determination look back onto their face and Noah felt slightly inspired by it, ready to face Mr. Red. Well, almost.
"But why? Why does it always have to be us?" - Lily asked with a low whine.
"It's because we're connected to him. Something about being near us gave Mr. Red power. Especially once he managed to lure us down into that cave. Maybe… that same connection can give us some kind of power over him."
"Huh, you're not as dense as I thought you'd be. Maybe we're not doomed after all."
MC stared at Cora, clearly unsure if they should take it as a compliment or not.
"...Thanks." - they said after all.
"The Power's truth strength comes from the connection it forges with its followers. Both sides are bound by the rules and rituals they agree upon. After the… incident, the few of us who weren't bloody smears on the ground figured out a way to exploit that connection." - the woman finally tore the page free from her notepad and handed it to them. - "With this spell, we sealed that bastard inside the old meeting house."
"Old meeting house… wait, those creepy ruins? How old are you?" - Noah asked before he could realise that it was an inappropriate question.
"None of yer damn business." - MC took the paper, scanning Cora's cramped handwriting.
"This… this is it? We just follow these instructions?"
"Seems a little anticlimactic." - Ava stated, reading it over her friend's shoulder. Stacy looked at her.
"You did hear the part where we have to go back into the woods, right?"
"Where I assume Redfield will try to stop us?"
"That's right." - Pritch the Witch answered the boy with glasses. - "Once he sees what you're doing, he'll do everything he can to interrupt the spell. You're going to have to-- HEY! You drop that! I SAID DROP IT!" - the gang jumped, following the woman's accusing finger… to where her creature was chewing on its own leg bone. - "Stupid thing… all the arcane powers in the world couldn't magic a brain in that half-rotted skull of yours." - the moss creature barked happily back at her. - "Don't suppose you'd like to take this damn ugly beast with you? All he's doing here is chewing up my nice furniture."
"Um, YES. Yes we would like." - Ava was almost jumping with excitement.
"Redfield will probably send tons of these creatures after us… it'd be nice to have a monster on our side for once." - MC pondered a little. - "We'd love to take him."
"Hear that, ya dense beast? You're going with these kids for a while." - Cora snapped her fingers, and the creature got up, bony feet clacking across the floorboards.
"Does it, uh… have a name?" - Lily asked.
"Never bothered to give him one. Call him what you like." - the old woman shrugged.
"Hmmm… what about…" - MC looked over to Andy. - "...Twiggy?"
"Haha, hell yeah!" - the short boy jumped, fisting the air.
"This is the most stupid name I've ever heard." - Noah stated as Twiggy trotted over to them, grinning.
"Shut up, you're just jealous that you didn't gave him a dope name!" - MC hesitantly reached down to scratch the creature's mossy head.
"That's… surprisingly soft. And weird. Definitely weird."
"Who's a good undead boy? Is it you?" - Ava played with the beast while Cora grabbed a plastic lighter from the kitchen and tossed it to MC. Then she handed the two goblets to the Beanie Boy.
"Don't spill those. There's a clearing with a big stump in the middle, about a mile in from the road. You know it?" - he nodded at her.
"Yeah, that's where we found our friend Dan."
"That's where you'll do the ritual, tonight."
"Tonight? Why can't we wait until morning?" - Lily shouted, startled.
"Because Redfield's got to be inside the clearing for the spell to trap him, which won't happen if it's full of sunshine." - huh, it made sense.
"Got it." - MC nodded. - "There's something I wanted to ask about... our friends in the hospital."
"Our friends, Dan and Tom, got… Redfield got to them. They've been unconscious in the hospital for days."
"There are others, too…" - Lucas joined Andy's explanation. - "If we manage to bind Redfield… will they wake up?"
"Hm. The Power does feed on people sometimes, consuming their life force until they're just empty shells… But… if you do this spell right, that connection will be broken. Your friends should recover, in time."
"One more reason to win this thing."
"Now, unless you have any other silly questions, it's time for you to go. There's work to be done..." - and then, Cora rushed them out of her house.
"This is it, then… we're really going to face him." - Lucas murmured with an uneased look, as the gang made their way out of Cora's garden.
"At least we'll all be together this time." - Noah said. There was safety in numbers and for the first time in a long time he felt like he had his friends' backs.
"Plus, we've got Twiggy." - Ava patted the moss creature's head, who growled happily at her. Stacy looked to each one of their faces:
"Everyone ready to go?"
"As ready as I'll ever be..." - Lily answered, hugging herself against the night wind. A hug grin spread on Ava's face.
"Creepy moonlight ritual to save the town from evil? I was born for this."
"Hell yeah, let's kick some monsters in the face!" - Andy shout, kicking the air around him. MC held him by his shoulder, preventing him from entering the woods.
"Not yet. First, there's one stop we need to make...."
They all drove to the hardware store downtown and parked outside. Twiggy even tried to go with them, but they thought it was better to stay inside the car. The door chimed, announcing their entrance, and Stacy's brother glanced up to them. He looked less than pleased to see them, especially MC.
"Stacy, what are you all doing here?"
"Don't be a jerk, Connor. We're just here to buy supplies."
"Supplies for wh-- Actually, you know what? I don't want to know. Store closes in five minutes, so just… get your stuff and get out." - he said, returning to the back of the counter.
They all split up to browse the store, only MC stayed back, to go talk to Connor. Noah walked towards the center aisle.
"Yo."
"Hey." - he greeted the Asian boy back. They browsed it in silence fo a couple minutes until Andy spoke up:
"So… we're finally going to kick that bastard's ass." - the boy with a beanie smirked.
"Technically, we can't kick his ass because he's a ghost. Ghosts don't have asses."
"Of course they have! They have a… ghostly ass."
"Which we can't kick."
"Well, how can you be so sure about it? Have you tried to kick a ghost's ghostly ass before?" - Noah laughed to that boy's stubborness and fierceness. - "You won't know if you don't try!"
"Right. You tell me later if that worked or not." - Noah laughed a little more. The Asian boy just rolled his eyes.
"Hey, do you think this will be useful?" - he asked, pointing a hair dryer to him.
"For what? So you can dry Redfield's ghostly ass?"
"You're no fun, Noah." - Andy pouted, putting the object back into the aisle, while the other boy chuckled. MC approached them.
"How's it going?"
"Andy is having way too much fun with this."
"Hey man, I'm just trying to live out my cheesy action movie dreams here. Don't ruin it for me." - Andy's eyes suddenly lighted up. He set down a jar of nails and turned to them both grinning. - "You know what I just realized? This is gonna be over tomorrow!"
"Yeah, assuming we don't all die." - MC smiled back at him.
"No, that's what I mean! Fists of Thunder 6 comes out next summer, and there's no way I'm missing that. So we're definitely gonna win!"
"I… what?" - MC shared a look with Noah, as if to confirm that they heard right. The Beanie Boy tried really hard to not laugh. 'Fists of Thunder 6'? Seriously?
"I'm serious! What are you guys looking forward to? What have you been waiting for so hard it proves we're gonna live?"
"Dunno, I haven't had much to look forward to, lately." - Noah answered. He just wanted it all to end. To Redfield go. To get some answers.
All he wished was to know was where Jane was? Was she safe? Was she trapped somewhere? In the ruins? What Redfield meant when he said that Jane was here?
If Jane was here…
"There must be something." - MC elbowed him, a playful smirk spreading on their lips. - "What about homecoming?"
"I'm probably not going. Seems kinda pointless without a date, doesn't it?" - his eyes locked with MC's for a second. He thought he almost saw their eyes shining. He quickly looked away. - "And I'm… really not in a good place for that. Dating. I mean." - he stuttered, feeling his cheeks getting hotter.
And that was true. He couldn't think about dating. Not yet. Not with Redfield around. But if things were different… If they were all safe and sound… If Jane was here… Would things be different?
He felt Andy squeezing his shoulder reassuringly.
"That's cool, dude. If it's not the right time, then it's not the right time."
"You shouldn't let that stop you from enjoying homecoming, though. We could all go together!" - MC proposed. Andy punched the air excitedly.
"Dude, let's all rent a limo! I've always wanted to do that!"
"That sounds… fun. I'll think about it." - Noah couldn't hide a smile from appearing on his lips. Their excitement was contagious. He turned to MC. - "What about you, MC? Gonna ask someone to homecoming?"
To be honest, Noah didn't want to know. He felt awkward imagining MC dating someone, even if this person was one of their friends. He watched them putting their hand on their chin, pondering for a little while, before turning to him with a bright smile.
"I don't think I want to ask anyone specific. I just want all to go as friends."
Noah fought the urge to grin.
"Okay… as long as I don't have to dress up." - he said, trying to maintain a stoic face. It was stupid, but he was kind of happy to know that MC didn't liked someone in a special way… and that he was going with all his friends to the party. Together.
"That's the spirit!" - Andy shout, clapping his back (a little too hard), then wandered off to look at another aisle.
Noah turned to look at MC, whose eyes were already on his face, small grin on their lips. He blushed again under his friend's gaze and cleared his throat before asking: "Huh… so, you gonna buy anything?"
"I'm not sure… What kind of weapon do you use against an army of undead plant monsters?"
Beanie Boy looked around the store, when something caught his eyes.
"I mean… that, probably." - he pointed to the wall behind MC, where a 'Now in Stock' sign hanged next to a pole saw. He saw the smile widening on his friend's face.
"I forgot about this thing!" - they exclaimed as they took the pole saw off the wall and examined it. Noah approached them.
"What is it?"
"I think Connor said it's called a 'pole saw'?"
"I'll tell you what it is." - Ava said as she came around the counter, practically bouncing. Noah still wasn't get used to the vision of Ava Cunningham excited, almost happy. - "It's a chainsaw… on a STICK! Please tell me you're gonna buy it!"
"You should totally get it. This thing'll tear through those plant monsters like nothing!" - he agreed with the witch girl. - "Way better than my weapon idea. I was just gonna grab one of the big sticks I saw in the parking lot..." - cash was running low.
"Yeah, no way I'm passing this thing up." - MC stated, clearly enjoying the sensation of holding the pole saw on their hands.
"Yesss. You're gonna let me borrow it sometime, right?"
"For what? You got some landscaping to do?" - Noah asked Ava.
"If it means I get to swing stuff like that around, I will find something to landscape." - she said as they joined the rest of their friends at the front of the store. MC got in line behind Andy as he paid for a large crowbar. Turning, the Asian boy asked, stopping short when he saw them holding the pole saw.
"What?! Where do they keep those?"
"Sorry, think I got the only one."
"Everybody set?" - Lucas asked, looking to each one of them. He seemed a little more confident than before.
All of them nodded in agreement and walked out into the night.
They followed the back roads out of town until, once again, they found themselves standing at the edge of the dark roads…
"This is it..." - MC murmured, holding the pole saw tightly. Noah nodded beside them, staring the woods in front of them.
"Hope this goes better than last time."
"It will. It has to." - they said, that determined frown on their face again, and then clutched Cora's instructions, reading them through for what it seemed like the tenth time. - "We've got to leave one goblet at the entrance to the ruins. Ava and I will take care of that, then meet the rest of you at the clearing."
"Sounds like a plan." - Lucas commented. Stacy wished them two to be careful.
"You guys too. Watch out for gross skeleton monsters." - Cora's mossy creature seemed confused. Ava grinned at him. - "Of course you're not gross, Twiggy! The other skeleton monsters are way less cute than you.
One by one, the teenagers walked into the trees. After a quick detour to the ruins, MC and Ava rejoined the rest of them in the clearing.
"Run into any trouble?" - Andy asked them. MC shook their head.
"Nope. First goblet's ready to go." - and then they set the other goblet down on the stump.
"So… um, what exactly do we do?" - Lily still seemed a little anxious with everything.
"Looks like two people need to read the incantations written here." - Ava replied, reading Cora's instructions. - "As soon as we start the spell, Mr. Red will be drawn toward this clearing."
"Hooray..." - Noah felt a shiver running down his spine by just imagining facing that monster's face again, all the confidence he was feeling soon leaving him. Ava ignored him:
"We light the goblet on fire, which somehow lights the other goblet. The two flames become a bridge that channels Mr. Red into the ruins. Then… boom, the flames go out and he's sealed inside."
"So… who wants to read the words? You'd have to read through the whole spell, and Mr. Red will do whatever he can to stop you." - MC asked their friends.
"I'll do it. Stacy? Do you..." - Lily trailed off as the cheerleader dumped her purse out on the ground, refilling it with large rocks, then giving it a few experimental swings.
"Nope. I've got some anger to work out."
"I'll read." - Lucas volunteered himself. - "Just… try to stop anything from ripping our heads off, okay?"
"Don't worry. We've got your backs." - Andy clasped his hand on the Class President's back.
After MC's signal, everyone arranged themselves in a loose circle around the stump, with Lily and Lucas at the center.
"Is everyone ready?" - she asked. Andy gripped his crowbar, Stacy hefted her rock-filled purse, Noah clutched his branch, and Ava drew a long knife from her boot.
"Bring it on." - MC yanked the started handle of their pole saw, and the small engine thrummed to life. - "One last thing… No one's allowed to die. I mean it. If even one of you dies, I'm gonna be pissed." - they all grinned a little to MC's words.
"Right back atcha, MC." - Andy smirked at them.
Lily took a deep breath… then began to read. "'Power of the ancient trees, glorious song of all that grows...'" - Lucas stood tall beside her, one hand resting on her shoulder as he picked up the next line. "'by right of our covenant, we summon thee'."
They all tightened the grip around their weapons as a frigid wind whipped through the clearing, carrying the sounds of growls and gnashing teeth...
"Remember… we have to protect Lucas and Lily, or else all of this will be for nothing." - MC alerted them.
"Got it.." - Noah felt his heartbeat speeding up. Beside them, Twiggy's mossy hackles raised and he bared his teeth. Lily kept reading.
"'...come before us...'" - dark shapes began to move in the undergrowth, amber eyes burning in the trees…
"'...come before us'." - Lucas repeated, his eyes widening as another shape, larger than the rest, moved to the edge of the clearing, moonlight illuminating his face.
"Wait a second, is that…?" - Andy's voice died as they recognized who was standing right in front of them.
"No..." - MC murmured, shock in their face too. The figured grinned.
"Looks like I stumbled into a loser convention." - Cody said with a wicked smile.
"Cody… You're not him!"
"Yeah, I know. But I'm still gonna kick your ass." - shadows writhed in the trees behind Cody, and they caught a darker figure, barely visible but for its glowing eyes. - "Remember what I said at Brit's party? How I was gonna make you pay for all your smartass remarks? Your little friends threw me out that time… but this time… I brought some friends too."
The bushes all around them exploded, a snarling wave of skeletal creatures charging towards them.
"Here they come!" - MC yelled, dropping to a ready crouch as three of the creatures charged toward them. Along with Andy and Stacy, they started fighting the monsters.
"Crap!" - Noah shout, swinging his branch wildly, hitting the skeletal creature that attacked him.
"I've got you." - Ava lunged towards him, shredding vines and chunks of bones flying everywhere.
Through the chaos, Lily and Lucas's voices rang clear and strong, reading from Cora's spell.
"'Power of the earth and the stone, furious wind and rushing creek…'"
"'...by right of our covenant, we bid thee, listen…'"
"'...heed our words…'"
"'...heed our word--"
"LOOK OUT!" - Noah yelled as two creatures managed to dodge around him, heading for Lucas and Lily.
MC attacked the creature that headed to the Class President, their pole saw blade shearing clean through the creature's spine. He and Ava immediately tried to sprint after them, but another creature leapt in front of them.
"Holy crap, how many of these are there?!" - Noah asked, struggling to hold the thrashing creature.
"I don't know, but they're starting to get on my nerves!" - the witch girl replied, slashing at it  with her knife. - "Could use some help over here!" - she yelled to their friends, who seemed to be okay, though Lily's arm was bleeding. MC sprinted towards them. - "Damn it, Noah! Hold it still!"
"I'm trying! It-- Aah!" - the creature slipped out of his grasp, lunging for her.
"Oh f--"
"Hey, ugly!" - MC stabbed their saw blade through the creature's skeleton, pinning it to the ground. Ava winded up and kicked it in the head, sending its skull flying into the trees.
"Huh, maybe I should take up soccer."
"Thanks, MC. That one got away from me." - Noah said, the three of them panting with all the action.
"No problem, Beanie Boy."
As they continued to struggle against the skeletal creatures, they heard slow, sarcastic applause from the clearing's edge.
"Damn, not bad, MC. Maybe you nerds are tougher than I gave you credit for." - behind Cody, Redfield seethed, hovering just outside the boundary of the clearing, hissing at them.
Steeling themself, MC pointed their weapon at the creature wearing Cody's face.
"Come over here. I'll show you how tough I am."
Redfield reached out one clawed hand, resting it on top of Cody's head, who grinned at them.
"I thought you'd never ask." - and, before their eyes, Cody's flesh began to warp and bulge, his skin tearing and falling away, revealing the dirt and stone beneath.
"Holy crap."
"What he said." - Noah agreed with Andy's remark, the stone creature advanced on MC, seeming taller with every step. MC seemed to be handling it pretty well with their pole saw.
"MC!" - Stacy shout.
"Back off, creep!" - Ava tried to threaten the stone creature, all of them trying to run to them, but more vine creature surged forward. - "I'm gonna make you boney freaks wish you were never… summoned, or whatever.” - the witch girl said as she and Noah brandished their weapons at another group of snarling beasts.
“I am not letting it end like this… not when we’re so close…”
They kept fighting the skeletal creatures until, suddenly, they all fell to the ground, the lights in their eyes winking out. Ava and Noah shared a confused look, before looking at the center of the clearing, where MC, Lucas and Lily stood. There was no sign of Redfield, the goblet on fire.
“...We did it.” - MC murmured. Trembling, they got to their feet as the flames inside the goblet flared high, ten vanished.
“Wait… really? It actually worked?” - Beanie Boy asked, as he and Ava walked towards them.
“It would appear so.” - Lucas looked around them. Everything seemed so suddenly calm.
“Are… are we sure? Is he actually…” - Lily couldn’t finish the phrase. Ava walked over, retrieving Cora’s goblet.
“One way to find out.”
A short walk later, they all cautiously stepped into the familiar clearing.
“It’s so… peaceful.” - MC commented, staring at the ruins.
“Yeah… I guess.” - Noah murmured, feeling a strange sensation in his chest.
He kind of… kind of was feeling… disappointed. That was it? After all that hell they went through… he had hoped that he would get some answers. Things would get fixed. Jane would be here.
Where was Jane? What Redfield meant when he said that she was here? If she was here, then where she was? Was Jane still here?
If Jane was here…
Ava walked right to the ruins, quickly snatching up Cora’s goblet before backing away again. “Ugh… I can definitely feel something in there. And it is pissed.”
“Can you blame him? Who’d wanna spend eternity trapped in that crappy place?” - Andy pointed to the old ruins.
“This could be a trick…” - Lily still couldn’t believe the spell worked. To be honest, neither could Noah.
“How do we know the spell did what it was supposed to?” - Lucas asked and MC crouched to pick up a small pebble.
“We test it.” - they tossed the pebble at the house. It sailed straight over the threshold… then stopped in mid-air.
“No way…” - Stacy murmured, her eyes widening. The pebble hanged in the air for a moment, then dropped straight down.
MC’s knees suddenly buckled and they sank to the ground, tears welling up to their eyes as they started to laugh.
“It’s... over.” - the gang kneeled beside MC, pulling them into a warm embrace. - “Wh-what the hell do we do next?”
The cheerleader laughed, squeezing all of them tighter.
“Seriously? Next comes the most important thing of all!”
“The SATs?”
“No, dummy…” - Stacy rolled her eyes to Lucas, a huge grin on her lips. - “Homecoming!”

You looked up from the book you were reading and resisted the urge to throw it across your room. It was a saturday and you had a whole bunch of homework. Your procrastination level was beyond comprehensible at the moment. There was a lit circle on Monday, (yes, the lit circle for the book you were trying to read,) you had a mini exhibition Wednesday (which you were not ready for,) you were supposed to already have a project idea ready for Wednesday (but surprise, surprise, you didn’t,) there was this fucking math thing that made no sense to you, and some other stuff you just couldn’t bring yourself to think about. You just had no motivation at all. It was driving you crazy. This book was driving you crazy.
You weren’t much of a reader, which made no sense because you loved to write. You’ve always enjoyed it, but you’ve only been a serious writer for a few years now. You already had an idea for your senior thesis, you wanted to write a book about passion. It was only October and you were so overwhelmed with school work and it’s been hard for you to balance it with writing. Writing was all you wanted to do. You had most inspiration in class. It’s class though, so obviously, you can’t just write in class all day. It was the most frustrating thing.
You placed to book on your bedside table and sighed, falling against your pillows. You glanced down on at your laptop that sat, open, near the end of your bed. You sat up and reached for it, pulling onto your lap before opening up a new tab and a blank document. You started at the blinking line blankly for a few seconds before falling back once again with an exasperated groan. Writer’s block. Deciding that you needed some type of inspiration, you shuffled your playlist, hoping for an inspiring song. Sitting back up, you started typing whatever was on your mind. Feeling pretty good about what was flowing from your mind to your keyboard, you paused to read over it. It was 1 and a half paragraphs of pure shit. You slammed your finger onto the back space key, erasing the embarrassing excuse of an introduction. After letting out an anger filled “ughhhhhh’ followed by a few strained whining noises, the door to you bedroom opened. You looked up to see your boyfriend looking rather confused.
"hey, are you okay babe?” he asked as he shut your door and walked over to your bed.
You look at him and rolled your eyes.
“Yeah, Renjun. I’m G R E A T.” oh boy,,,, you were in a terrible mood.
Renjun looked at you, slightly surprised at your behavior, and use of his actual name (he was used to you calling him Jun, or Junnie, or like, babe, y'know.) He sat down next to your sprawled out figure and moved your head into his lap. Groaning as he did so.
“alright babe, what’s wrong?” he said looking down at you and stroking your hair.
“you’re rarely sarcastic with me” he laughed lightly, which made you look up at him with puppy dog eyes.
You pushed yourself up off his lap and looked at your laptop screen. Which was still blank.
“I have mountains of homework, but I have Z E R O motivation, and I really want to write, but I have writer’s block, and I’m reALLY FUCKING FRUSTRATED.” slamming your laptop shut after yelling in anger. Your boyfriend sighed and pulled you towards him. He gently shushed you and rubbed your arms.
“it’s okay babe, you’ll get inspir-” he was cut off by you standing and sighing with anger and frustration clear in your voice.
“No! Renjun! It’s not okay! Everything is due this week and I have to read this stupid book and I have to talk about my independent read on Wednesday, which I haven’t read one page of, and I’m so overwhelmed, and I’m super stressed out about it, and I can’t find any motiva-” it was your turn to be cut off, by Renjun swiftly moving to your panicked figure and pressing his lips to yours. You melted into the kiss and he moved one hand from your waist to cheek. You two pulled away after a solid 10 seconds. (Y'ALL I LOVE RENJUN.) He lifted your face to look up at him after you looked down, and he smiled with adoration.
“I was hoping that would take your mind of things” he said quietly, with a sweet, innocent smile.
“Oh my gosh babe, it’s not going to be that easy to get my mind off of everything.” you sighed as all of your work flooded your mind again. Pulling away from his hold, you started to walk back over to your laptop. You didn’t make it very far, as you were pulled back into his embrace.
“What else can I do for you sweets?” he questioned, resting his chin on your shoulder from behind after pressing a quick kiss to you cheek. You placed your hands over his and turned your head slightly to look at him. As you opened your mouth to speak, you heard the familiar piano introduction of your ‘couple song’ as you two like to call it. Your head whipped around to the speaker in the corner of your room and Renjun took your hand and spun you around to look at him.
You and Renjun met outside of the Exo'luxion concert venue, before nct was very big, and 'out there.’ You we’re on your way up the doors when you dropped your purse; spilling almost everything inside, out onto the sidewalk. When you reached to pick up your lip balm (which was rolling away,) you brushed hands with larger, warmer one. You looked up the see who the hand belonged to, and you were met by boy with a small, sweet smile. He bent down as well after handing you the lip balm and started helping you with the remaining items on the ground. You thanked him as you two stood up and he handed you your ticket. You exchanged names and continued inside. Upon reaching you seat, you soon found out that you just so happened to be next to Renjun, the friendly boy that helped you moments before. As you two waited for the show to start, you got to know each other. Starting with your favourite song. Which, for both of you, happened to be Don’t Go. The rest is history.
You giggled as he moved your hands to his shoulders and his to your waist. He returned the giggle as you two began to sway back and forth, quietly singing the lyrics back to one another. He rested his forehead on yours and lightly pecked your nose.
This situation was not a rare occurrence, but it also wasn’t an everyday thing. You two would dance together often, to anything really. It’s usually fun and goofy dancing, but Don’t Go was special to the two of you. Of course, y'all are young and all, but you know that when if you two get married, it would definitely be your first dance. (OH SHIT I FEEL A SCENARIO COMING ON)
Here you two were, slow dancing in your bedroom, your homework and writing long forgotten. All you could think about was how happy you were. As the song drew to a close, you wrapped your arms around Renjun’s neck and hugged him. He did the same, wrapping his arms tightly around your waist, lifting you off the ground slightly. You laughed lightly and pulled back to look at his face. He had the most radiant smile, and so did you. He set you down as Take You Home (Baek’s station song) started playing. He held your hand as he starting singing along, walking over to the bag he set down by your bed. You followed, lacing your fingers with his. He reached into his bag as the pre chorus sounded. Turning around smoothly, holding a yellow flower out to you as the chorus began. You laughed out loud and took the flower from his grasp. You laughed again, at him, as he started dancing like in the actually music video. He laughed with you, moving to kiss your forehead as the song ended. He smiled down at you again.
“Junnie. That couldn’t have been planned.” you laughed, shaking your head slightly.
“Oh, it wasn’t. It was just perfect timing for that song to come on.”he said back. You looked down at the flower and then back up at him as he brushed your cheek with his thumb.
“… What are you thinking about?” he asked.
“ah… just, how much I love you” you said while playing with the leaves on the flower.
“ah jeez… i love you took, cutie.” he said as he engulfed you in a bear hug.
Music continued to flow through you speaker as you and Renjun sat back down in your bed. You laid your head on his chest as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder. Setting the flower on your bedside table, you sighed and reached for your laptop. Renjun sighed as well before stroking your hair.
“any ideas for writing?” he asked as he watched you type in your password.
“… nope. Still nothing.” you whispered.
He chuckled and kissed the top of your head.
“We’ll think of something” he whispered into the top of your head before shutting your laptop and lying down on your bed. Hugging you closer to him, despite your protests about having to do homework, he shushed you and shut his eyes.
“We can think later, for now, let’s take a nap.” he said, shutting his eyes and snuggling closer to you. You playfully rolled your eyes and got comfortable in your boyfriends arms before closing your eyes as well. You may have a lot to do, but this is the perfect break.
A/N: ALRIGHT SO, THAT HAPPENED. I’m so sorry that this was kind of all over the place, but I actually did start writing this when I did have writers block, and my brain kind of expolded with ideas mid way through… also, all of that work I listed in the beginning is actual homework I have, OOPS. It’s late now anyways, so I just have to cram tomorrow. Bad choices but oh well, better now than later I guess.
I hope you enjoyed this, I had a lot of fun writing it because it broke my writers block, again, sorry for the messiness! Send in requests if you want because that would also really help with the writers block! and i’m sorry for the picture quality, pictures haven’t been working for me the past while

Isaac's pack - the first pack sleepover
summary: when isaac settled down in france, he decided it's about time he start his own pack, the problem is, he chose the silliest, most childish, but fierce girls to be his betas. Characters: - Isaac Lahey: The pack alpha, and the only male in the pack - Luna - Victoria - Daisy - Radwa Warnings: sass, fluff Word count: 1249 Also shout out to the Isaac's pack™ gc girls •••••••• It was Luna's idea, and the smile on her face widened when she was preparing everything she needed for her pack's first ever sleepover, tons and tons of comfy pillows and blankets spread on the floor, a box of different movies victoria dropped by earlier this afternoon. "Hey i'm sorry i'm late!! I'm always late but that's not the point", the loud clumsy voice that belonged to Radwa, her pack mate yelled from the front door, "hey luna" she said as she put all the food and crisps and drinks on the counter, "Everyone's coming yea?!", Radwa said as she set everything in right places. "Yup all the girls are in but i guess, as always, vic has to drag his wolfy ass along so he can be here" TWO HOURS LATER "Oh c'mon isaac" vic said as she dragged the older boy. "don't be a grumpy wolfy scarf boy!" daisy added as she pushed him farther into luna's place and pushed him to make him fall on the pillows & blankets filled floor. "Oh hey look mr. Brightside is here!! HI SCARF BOY YOU MISSED ME" radwa said before jumping right on him and hugging him like a big teddy bear. "fuck off rad! where's luna?", Isaac mumbled. "I'm here grumpy what's up?!" luna greeted from the door before disappearing to prepare some things for the sleepover. An hour later isaac eventually stopped complaining and settled down with everyone and got comfy to watch a movie, "please don't choose a cheesy romantic movie" he sighted, "who the hell you think we are!! a couple of middle school pre teens!! Isaac WE ARE WEREWOLVES JUST BECAUSE WE'RE GIRLS DOESN'T MEAN WE'RE CHEESY AN..." "RAD SHUT UP!!", all the girls yelled back at the small figured werewolf while Isaac had his usual "oh this is so not gonna end well" look plastered on his face. Luna got into the room holding a box filled with movies "Well i have, the harry potter series, the full disney movies series, and lord of the rings, make your choice ladies and isaac!", luna said as she sat the box on the floor. "We're so watching harry potter", daisy said only to be interrupted by everyone else disagreeing and choosing disney series. after 10 more minutes of the pack arguing over which disney film they're watching they finally choose Lion king. The pack, Isaac and his little wolves, sat on the many many pillows and blankets all cuddled up with each other with pizza and popcorn around them. After two hours of Lion King songs and tears and pizza the movie ended and the pack was just a big stack of -semi- human bodies which it's center was isaac. "I'm both tired and bored" victoria groans, "same" the tires voices of the rest says. "But guys what about a makeover!! We haven't sat down to relax and talk in such a long time", luna jumped excitedly. "Sounds good!" "Hell yea!!" "I'm in" "hell to the no." "SHUT UP ISAAC", all the girls said in one voice. Luna & vic paired up, Daisey chose to do her own makeup, while radwa got paired with the forever grumpy wolf, talk about fire & fire, those two were a fire of grumpiness and sass all put together. The thing no one outside the pack ever knew about is that despite his grumpiness, Isaac would do literally anything just to make his girls happy and safe, and they'd do anything just to make their alpha happy...even if that thing was a sleepover with pizza, music and makeover in it. "Isaac play something!!" Vic shouted at him to play any good music then she went back to gossip about someone to luna and daisy, "oh my god she didn't!!", radwa gasped when she heard what they said about someone and that caught isaac's attention, "who ya talking about ladies?" he turned wondering, "that girl in school that caught her boyfriend cheating on her so she exposed him AT. THE. PROM. in front of the whole school.." "ohmy what wow!!!!" he gasped too and the pack fell laughing.. "Isaac come do my makeup!", Radwa said as she prepared her makeup stuff, "your wish is my command, little wolf!" he smiled.. Whoever saw them arguing angrily like kids few hours ago would never believe they're the same people in pajamas and funny makeup full faces singing along with the top of their voices to songs on shuffle and laughing and dancing like silly children. "good job scarf boy!", Radwa said as she stared at her make up full face that's not-so-perfectly done by Isaac, "now YOUR TURN!", she yelled with a smirk and the girls cheered for him to let her do his makeup. "Oh god please no!", he muttred with pure horror filling his sapphire blue eyes, "c'mon isaac let her make you pretty", luna begged, "excuse you but i'm always pretty", he sassed back with a smirk only to be interrupted by daisy and radwa dragging him to the seat to start his makeover, "c'mon pretty boy!", "YOU TWO ARE SO TINY HOW CAN YOU EVEN MANAGE TO DO THIS UGH!!", "supernaturals, pretty boy!" radwa whispered and winked at him... "You can't do my makeup I AM AN ALPHA FOR GOD'S SAKE!!" "Shhhh pretty boy..", she cleared her throat and looked away dramatically, "Isaac, my dear, once a wise man said: "Makeup is fucking great for a guy, cause he makes a guy look beautiful, and a lot of times a guy is not beautiful. And I wanna change that. I wanna make sure that everybody thinks that guys are beautiful." , End of speech, pretty boy!" "Did you just quote pete wentz? are you seriously quoting pete wentz?!!" "shut up pretty boy and let me do your eyeliner." and this time, he actually shut up. After blending foundation and contour (does he even need it with his perfectly defined face???) and finishing his eye makeup with golden eye-shadow and winged eyeliner and even fake eyelashes. And with rose colored lipstick that was no different than his actual lip color.. "Only highlight left to make you shine like a star!!" "No offense but that wasn't what i meant when I said i wanted an emo makeup like ryan ross' " "I can't do your emo makeup while y'all are playing beyonce!!" She let him finish the final touches of highlighter by himself as the rest of the pack were singing loudly to the beyonce song on shuffle and laughing at him. As he finished and stood up to show them his now perfectly done face Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time by Panic! At The Disco came on shuffle and as everyone including Isaac screamed along to the lyrics "CHAMPAGNE, COCAINE, GASOLINE", Victoria shouted excitedly "ISAAC MAKE THESE HIGH HEELS WORK!!!" "you must be drunk or kidding me" he muttered in shock, "both, but seriously let's make these high heels work!", Victoria said as she held a pair of fancy heels and pushed Isaac to the bed so she can force him to wear it. "I lost a bet to a guy in a chiffon skirt.." the song said and isaac stood up in his fancy heels and sweat pants with a proud smirk on his face "BUT I MADE THESE HIGH HEELS WORK" and tried to do a cat walk before falling right on his face. "At least you made these high heels work, pretty boy!" THE END.
