No, it's not disapointing at all! Im just a nosy bitch. I also really love your art so I was wondering if you used visual references for the faces because the way you drew faces are very well detailed and I really like it. 😭

I had one more question if you don't mind. I love the names of your characters and I was wondering what makes you give a character a specific name, is it a vibe or the meaning or anything else? And do you have any favourite names that you have not used yet, but would love to use in the future for your characters? I love the name sidra btw, its gorgeous. 🥰

I agree, I think it's a really pretty name. Did you know I was gonna have her go by "Sid" for the majority of the story? How tragic. Glad I'm not in that reality tbh. I think she was also Teagan at some point? Very very early on. Also quite cursed.

I do generally use visual references, but not always for faces? I tend to use previous art of the same character for refos, but sometimes I get the angles/anatomy wrong (do not look up my old art lmao) and it's useful to have photos of real people with similar features to look up. Tbh I should be using references for faces more often because I'm too cocky in that area but that's neither here nor there.

As for names, I go for a trifecta of sound-vibe-symbolism. All of them have to be at an acceptable level of correct before I use a name. I always see it as a semi-mystical thing where I "find" the name of an OC instead of giving it to them, because it has to stick to them properly before my brain accepts it as canon. Generally I start by looking at names that might fit symbolically, then eliminate names that might not sound right or fit the region the character comes from, and then go sound/vibe for what's left.

Anyway, yes, there's a bajillion names I wanna use sometime but never seem to find a place for. Let me check my nameberry account and see what I've favorited. Very short list of names and their hyperspecific vibes below the cut for those who want but a slice of the names I have on the backburner.
