i have so many thoughts and opinions on vast error's (Dreadful) writing but the main 3 issues it suffers from are power creep, character immunity and shitty pacing. none of the "action" sequences feel like action. there is never any tension because you know they'll never kill any characters off in the way that homestuck abruptly did. There is no love for side characters the way there was in hs. it just fails completely as a homestuck fancomic, but it has nothing going for it that isn't taken from homestuck.

#in terms of power creep theyve made edolon way too powerful way too fast and the IMMEDIATELY matched sestro to that level.#it literally feels like 10 yr olds roleplaying #'oooo my guy shoots your guy with a gun and you die!!' 'nooo my guy doesnt die hes uhhh gun immune!!' <- what post incursion felt like #and this is not even going into how affected by purity culture the comic is and how much that limits its scope #or the clear hatred/ignorance of half the main 12?? not even hussie did that #or the polyphobia of their quadrant system or the antisemitism of your only hooked-nose dark curly hair character being your main antag. -_-#i am saying all of this as someone who still reguarly reads and used to love vast error #also its late while im writing this and im so tired pardon my spelling mistakes 😔
