hello. i made a very long, very indulgent addition to the sam and max subreddit post earlier, and decided to make it its own post because i had way too many thoughts for a reblog. and the idea of clogging notes was eating away at my brain like mice eat a cheese. this is mostly just train of thought, so i apologise if it's complete nonsense. i've just thought a lot about sam and max's relationship, and the connection lgbt (and neurodivergent, for that matter) fans have had to the series, from my perspective since i was like 8. obviously that's gonna be tinted thru a tumblr lens, because ftmp that's where i see The Good Stuff. and i'm gay as hell, so there's bias. ok read more time kiss kiss.
anyhoozles, coincidentally i've been back on my sam and max bullshit recently, as i finally got a chance to play "this time it's virtual". and discovered vr is not my thing.
so to start, listen...i don't think sam and max's relationship is quite as cut and dry as i believe myself and perhaps many others would imagine/hope. i'm eyeing the "susan" gag from the aformentioned ttiv, in particular. but as your resident specialist in "complex and obscure knowledge of three series total or so", the question of sam and max's relationship has been here since the very beginning of the official comics. like. this has been a thing. pretending it's new is foolhardy. and wrong. obviously there's "like butch and sundance", the wedding toppers, hell, the devs of the telltale game trilogy lampshade their relationship a very decent amount, both in the game itself and in the commentary. at the end of 209, "chariot of the dogs", they directly bring it up during the final cutscene tie straightening maneuver max does. one of the devs literally gets excited about it, iirc. and one of my personal favourite examples is "do you find my warmth...alarming, sam?" from 305, "the city that dares not sleep."
that, in particular, is one of several lines directly from MR. PURCELL HIMSELF, that he gave to the devs each game as lines that must be in the game.
and speaking of season 3, i'd like to mention 305, "they stole max's brain".
(i am now holding "noir sam" so close to my chest, jsyk. that trope means the world to me. it has influenced SO much of my work, and i still use napalm's playthrough on youtube as a sleep aid. REMASTER WHEN.)
of course i and many others latched onto that shit, are you kidding me???? that whole episode was RIPE for hurt/comfort. minor spoiler warning for those that would mind, it's a roaring rampage of revenge plot. at least for the first 30 minutes or so. it's part of a long history between the two of freaking the hell out the second they're separated from each other in a way that doesn't end in like, five minutes. (305. if you know, you know. fkin brutal, man.) sam, in the second act of the game, has been affected by an alternate reality plot, and fully believes he has carried max's brain in a jar his whole LIFE and seemingly has no plans to stop doing so!! it's part of a season where the WHOLE PLOT revolves around the nature of their relationship and how it could change. you don't have to be a shipper yourself to understand how that could be incredibly compelling to the people that fancy them as a couple.
and it's a fandom that i give a lot of credit to lgbt people for revitalising in the mid 2010s~ (i was already a fan by then, and i'm still really curious as to why it blew up so much, but hey, who's complaining?), as well as in 2021~ in response to skunkape's remaster of telltale's season one "save the world" installment, and the release of ttiv. (obviously the actual demographic spread across platform to platform is a varied thing, etc. etc. i'd like to stay firmly in my lane, and i don't wanna overstate any particular demos in my discussion here, or hyperbolise too much.)
Obviously, you don't have. to be a shipper. completely fine. pretty common. Who Give A Care. and we're not even gonna get into the "not suitable" content. i can't fault anyone for not being cool with the actual sexualisation of childhood stuff they like. that's something i'm pretty "ambivalent with a leaning towards discomfort" about for quite a few things myself. and it turns out there wasn't even any "unmentionable graphic imagery" to begin with. shocking. HOWEVER. i'm fascinated but not completely surprised by the blatant homophobia and disgust towards the fanart of the ship.
like, to be nuanced about things, and it's not like the admin is extending the same courtesy here, this is clearly an older fan. like i think from around the same timeframe i was first introduced to it, give or take. maybe they missed a lot of the tumblr mid-2010s activity, or maybe that's going in to their Burning Disgust towards Yaoi Sam and Max Kissing Not Clickbait. i know the fanart had some level of cross-posting, at least on youtube as dubs iirc. OR maybe i'm a fool who is actively tricking you with my words and none of the above is true at all. however...pal. again, in my opinion, we owe those lgbt and neurodivergent kids and adults our whole rights as a fan community. you don't have to like it, but you do have to be respectful, jerkbag.
i can't be the only one who was devastated by the drought of content post "the devil's playhouse". we had a [1] singular whole webcomic to tide us over, with the occasional sketch on purcell's social medias. of course, there was a small community of fans, and some incredible stuff they made, looking at you Sam Dies At The End. i weeped. but it was slow and steady. and then, out of seemingly nowhere, people en masse suddenly REALLY CARED ABOUT THE THING THAT BROUGHT ME SO MUCH JOY AS A LITTLE GUY. like, fuck man...i first found out what autism was when i was real young because max's character description on wikipedia contained speculation as to whether or not he has it. (jury's still out, ...but we all have our little comforts. okay? also speaking of, "is max gay?" is like. one of the longest ongoing bits. like cmon dude.) now granted, by 2021 i was a little old for the new wave of shipping that sprouted up. tiktok edits are Not Always My Thing. but that's okay!!!! it doesn't need to be my thing. i'm really glad they're having fun. :] and i don't want to come across as like. infantilising in my discussion of the younger fanbase, so i apologise if my tone has come across that way. it really is simply the comforting thought that kids like me can experience what i had.
i remember how much fun my friends and i used to have when we were 16! (hi xavier, if ur reading this. miss you, buddy. :]) we got silly with it! we got angsty about season 3!! we wrote fanfiction, hell, an amazing fic my friend wrote that i beta'd is still the most kudos'd shipping fic on ao3!! the fanartists i liked had such an INCREDIBLE grasp on how to write sam and max's banter. it was a good time! and knowing these characters are giving joy to a new generation makes me giddy, dude. hell yeah! get "feral" or whatever the hell it is these days. find comfort in characters that don't really care about anyone's opinion except each other's, who get to be as weird and annoying and gross as they want all the time. that tend to punch up. that show love differently than what's seen as conventional. that end up saving the day, not even because they have to, so much as they genuinely enjoy each adventure together. max was my personal opportunity to feel comfort in all my weird freaky mannerisms i kept safe behind the polished exterior i had to wear as a kid. i found solace in the thought that those two were practically made for each other, as i stumbled through my own gender and sexuality crises. i loved how dry and dark sam was allowed to be. the banjo bits, the phone jokes, the repartee. so much of this series has influenced me, and helped me become who i am, as a creator and as a functional guy who Does Things.
so that's a small bit of why i think sam and max had, and still has, a lot of appeal to people that grew up like me. there's a lot of rough stuff i went through that made the idea of a couple of anarchist detectives completely devoted to one another that go around the seedy underbelly of america saving the day ("almost on purpose!") really, really interesting. steve purcell is unapologetic about how gross america can be, especially in the comics. at the heart of it, sam and max do what they do both because they enjoy it, and they enjoy each other. and i think, to overlook that, is to miss some of the whole point of the franchise. oh, i'm sorry, giant cockroaches literally everywhere is fine, streets crusted in various goos, totally chill, but gay kissing is the thing that Absolutely Nauseates you? plugging your ears and screaming gross seems like...kind of a weak move here, ngl. a work that doesn't shy away from how confusing and wild life can be has a decent chance to be compelling to marginalised groups, who often have to put up with the more disgusting aspects of reality anyways. at least these two odd guys are having fun with it. sam and max understand each other, each of their strengths and flaws, and choose to be with each other every day because of and in spite of them. they choose to love where they are, because of and in spite of its many, many, many flaws. they choose to be who they are because they love what they do. there's something touching there, if you like to think about such things. there are some occasions i find myself wishing sam and max's relationship was more...concrete. i wish we had an answer to Does Sam And Max Is Gay? but at the same time, being vague and obtuse is like. their whole shtick. so maybe it's just right how it is. and uh. obviously this is a fictional series. in the end, it's all how we enjoy it that matters, and it's not the end of the world. and as a final cherry on top, nothing beats turning to my husband and asking, "is sam and max queerbait", before delighting in the 3 hr conversation that follows.
and to get to the point. as the old adage unfortunately goes, it's...okay. to not like...ships. and i can even somewhat understand being frustrated by a subreddit you created being "flooded" by a thing you're not into. only somewhat, because a: we've always been here, and b: because you can. just not look at it? idk if reddit has a filtering system, but. the scroll wheel is free. to throw a tantrum and ban topics because you're personally offended people think they're gay? you might be missing out on some of the most fun you can have outside the series, and you're spitting in the face of the people who held this fandom up on their shoulders like atlas.
and you're being a dick about it.
TO CONCLUDE:
wah wah they're gay gay homosexual gay and they don't pay taxes. deal or die, fake fan.

Dating Sites With Trans Option
Brook Shelley’s previous work for The Toast can be found here, and our previous coverage of trans* issues can be found here.
Hearing about people being afraid of or not open to dating a trans person is just one reason why it is so hard to date as a trans person. And even though I have heard it many times before, it is still hard to confront. I looked at eight popular dating sites to see which are the most gender inclusive. Dating only trans people, at least here in my local community, do not seem like a realistic option since we are too few. Finding the right person would be next to impossible. Well, that was my 2 cents on that. I,m actually surprised by the comments so far. TRANSGENDER, PANSEXUAL, LESBIAN, GAY, GENDER-FLUID, Bi-SEXUAL & NON-BINARY DATING SITE & SUPPORT. We are a Transgender, Pansexual, Lesbian, Gay, Gender-fluid, Bi-sexual & Non-Binary dating site where you can find support, make friends, talk to others about their journey, look for love and so much more. Reddit’s r/t4t subreddit is essentially a personals-style online dating forum for transgender people. While it’s not as detailed as more established trans dating sites, this subreddit is designed.
Welcome to lesbian trans womanhood. I know, we aren’t supposed to say that. Welcome anyway. Let’s assume you know two things: that you are a woman, and that you like other women. Good. That’s a fine place to start. Follow along, and we will get you from this humble beginning, to being a real-live dater.
Take a deep breath. Ready?
1. First, lower your expectations. Whatever you think might happen in the next few paragraphs, or in the next few months, expect less.
Dating Sites With Trans Options
This isn’t in reference to any particular difficulty facing trans women, though there are many; it is always helpful to lower your expectations. Low expectations mean high excitement at small success.
For example, if you expect to dance alone at a bar, you will be thrilled to find that someone beautiful is dancing with you. Repeat as needed.
2. Next, create an online dating profile. OkCupid, Match, or Tinder; it doesn’t really matter where, but you’ll need one. This is how you meet shy lesbians. You may be shy yourself. This could be the best place for you.
Tumblr media
3. Spend quite a bit of time agonizing over the photos and your description and hobbies. Be clever. Be charming. Ask a few close friends, “would you theoretically date me based on this profile?” Hear them laugh a little. Tell them, “No, I’m serious. Is any of this good?”
4. Take their advice. If they have no advice, find some other friends. Without them, you will end up posting a photo with kale in your teeth, or where there is clearly a dog using the restroom in the background. You will not notice this on your own.
5. While you wait for responses, go find the queerest bar nearby. Attend events specifically targeted towards lesbians like you. Dance. Get used to dancing. The music will likely not be great. Get used to a mix of pop hits, Shakira, and Bikini Kill. Don’t try to explain why Kathleen Hanna is problematic while dancing.
Tumblr media
6. Wonder, “why do so many of these girls have bow-ties on?”
There is no answer.
7. Assume they must not be able to take them off. Do not offer to help them take their bow-ties off. Just dance away.
8. Flirt. Often.
9. Hone your ability to turn a conversation into a fun tête-à-tête. Read the face and responses of the other people. Assume that at any moment, they might sour, and you will need to disengage. Be lighthearted. Be friendly. Don’t press anyone, and focus on enjoying yourself. Cool people enjoy themselves. Cool people are definitely not sweating horribly, right now, as they dance around the room, hoping for a match. When someone asks how you are doing, never mention the harassment, mis-gendering, or stress you’re going through. They don’t actually want to know that stuff yet. Talk to your aforementioned friends about those.
10. Hear, “wow, you’re tall,” at most of these events. Kiss a few people, gently. Brace yourself for the inevitable pre-hookup question or revelation about your body or identity. Practice explaining why “biological woman” is ridiculous. Use lines like “Of course I’m a biological woman, and not a cyber woman… or a giant snake.” At no point be seen unhinging your jaw to devour a goat.
Also try, “Hi, this is how my body works… and this is what I like.”
11. Be prepared for some rejection at this point. Practice your smile and, “Ok, that’s fine, I had fun,” response to “I can’t sleep with you now,” or “I’m just not attracted to (your genitals),” or “I’m a gold star lesbian, I can’t sleep with you.” You may also hear, “you’re so brave.”
12. Find ways to forgive them in your heart for being such shitheels.
13. Be surprised when not everyone rejects you. Bask in the glow of reciprocal attraction when it does occur – it may be rare. You may want to high-five the women who are still attracted to you, regardless of what you discuss. Resist. High-fives are firmly in second date territory.
14. Check your phone. Oh, your mom called. Call your mom back. Remind her that you won’t be meeting any nice boys because you are a lesbian. Yes, you might want to settle down. No, there’s not much going on lately. Yes, you’re really a lesbian. No, this isn’t a phase. Yes, you did get the dress she sent… it’s… nice. Tell her you love her. Hang up.
15. Check your phone again. There sure are a lot of biologists on your online dating site.
How’d they get access to my karyotype? Did they take a blood sample?
What’s that game? You know the one… Where complete strangers ask you about your genitals? https://gfriendlighting460.tumblr.com/post/655947581619388416/dating-anyone-in-carrboro-nc. You’ll be playing this whether you like it or not a lot more often now. It is not possible to win this game.
Does Tinder Have A Trans Option
16. Use some of your flirting skills from being at the bar while you are online. Realize those skills don’t translate. A lot of people online are too shy to go out, so they will not know how to respond to you. You may be seen as forward, or at least not shy enough. Carry on.
17. Talk about books. Talk about food. Talk about anything but how you’ll probably never meet up, and if you do, there won’t be a second date. There often isn’t a second date.
18. Get ready to hear a lot of very surface-level readings of Judith Butler. Take heed that many of your fellow women have taken exactly one women’s and gender studies course in college, and “know all about being transgendered.” (sic) Be prepared to hear girls talk about how they’re “not really feminists, because they like to have fun.” Feel free to shake your head and pour a drink. Get better at reading through their answers to weed out the ubiquitous racism, transmisogyny, littering, and incompatible goals. Remember that you don’t have to settle.
19. You should probably have a pet. I should have said this at the beginning. Choose: cat or dog. Go adopt your choice animal. Start at the top. I can wait. You may be alone for a while.
20. Find a partner or dater. At some point, you will succeed. You will feel like you won the lesbian lottery. You will be elated in your heart that someone cares about you, and wants to kiss you… like more than once a week. High fives may be appropriate at this point.

Three Biggest Mistakes Redditors Make When Writing Their Resume
The following post is by ESI from ESI Money, a blog about achieving financial independence through earning, saving, and investing (ESI). It’s written by an early 50’s retiree who achieved financial independence, shares what’s worked for him, and details how others can implement those successes in their lives. He is also the author of a free ebook titled Three Steps to Financial Independence and spends a lot of his time interviewing millionaires.
Several months ago, a friend recommended I give Reddit a try. He said there was lots going on at the site and I would enjoy it.
"Enjoy" was not the first word I thought of when he mentioned it. I think I was more in the "fear" camp initially.
But I eventually overcame my concerns, joined Reddit, and spent a couple of months trying to get into the flow of how things worked and finding subreddits I was interested in.
Once I felt more settled, I wanted to give back to the community, so I started looking at places to contribute.
Naturally, I gravitated toward the personal finance topics. After all, I have had a decent amount of money success myself (financially independent at 42, retired at 52, and had written on the subject for 15+years.)
But it didn't take long to find out that everyone on Reddit is a money management expert, who will be retiring early. (I hope you can hear the sarcasm in that.)
Anyway, I had little interest in explaining money problems to a 32-year-old "expert" with almost no net worth to his name. I had seen others try and the pack descend on him, so no thank you.
I kept searching.
I found a subreddit where people posted their resumes and asked for help reviewing them. As someone who had reviewed thousands of resumes during my working career, interviewed and hired hundreds of people, and managed my own career with success, I knew I could help.
So I dived in...
The Average Questioner
After reading several posts, I could see a pattern -- a very strong pattern.
The posts were eerily similar to each other. I know that rarely happens but again and again the same post popped up.
Here's a representative sample of what the vast majority were like:
Hey, guys!
I have been looking for a job for a year now and am having no luck at all.
I have applied for about 900 positions and haven't received one call back, so I'm sure the problem is with my resume.
Can you look it over and offer suggestions how I can improve it?
The resume was attached for us all to comment on.
Resume Mess
To say the resumes were a mess is an understatement.
I'm not sure where these people got their initial advice on how to create a resume, but I assume it was either a first grade elementary class or a trained monkey.
Anyway, it was apparent why the resume wasn't getting any results.
Even more, I saw a second pattern developing. Again and again, each poster had the same exact issues. They were making critical mistakes -- ones that made their resumes almost worthless.
I was seeing this so often that it got to the point where I was making the same exact recommendations to poster after poster. Eventually, I made responding easier on myself by writing out a detailed response, saving it as a document on my computer, and literally copying and pasting it to one question after another. They all needed the same advice!
So in the interest of saving future posters the trouble of asking for help, I thought I'd share the three common issues reddit posters faced and my recommendations on how to address them.
I'll list them as recommendations of what to do instead of what to avoid as I think it's more positive.
So with that said, here are my three tips for making your resume as strong as possible:
1. Follow a standard format full of easy-to-read bullet points.
Consider this finding detailed on Time:
According to a study released this week by TheLadders, an online job-matching service, recruiters spend an average of six seconds reviewing an individual resume. The standard thought was that recruiters spent at least several minutes on each CV. Nope.
Six seconds! Yikes!
The reality is that recruiters have a TON of resumes to sort through so they need to weed them out quickly. That's why each one gets six seconds.
This means that a resume writer needs to capture their attention and stand out (in a good way) in six seconds. If this happens, perhaps the review can be extended to 10 or 15 seconds, which allows the candidate enough time to tell his story a bit and hopefully make the "maybe" pile instead of being consigned to the trash bin.
What exactly do I mean here? I suggest the following:
Do not get creative. You need to follow the standard format of 1) contact info at the top, 2) work experience in reverse chronological order next, and 3) education at the end. Recruiters are used to this format and using it ensures they spend their time looking at your background and not figuring out where the info is. If you get creative and develop a non-standard format resume, they spend their six seconds trying to figure out what the heck is going on and you lose your chance to impress them.
Use bullet points to detail your experience. As you discuss your work experience, highlight your accomplishments (more on this below) in bullet points. These are easy to read quickly and can convey a ton of information in a short period of time. In six seconds, several bullet points can easily communicate "this is someone I need to talk to."
Forget the list of skills at the top. I don't need you to tell me you're "creative, determined, and results-oriented." I'll make that determination for myself. Tell me what you've done and from there I'll form my own conclusions.
There are exceptions to these of course. If you're applying for a creative position, then throw out the rules and be creative with your resume (as long as you still communicate well, of course). If you have some skill that's required for the job (or gives you a leg up), then you may want to include it at the top. But for 95%+ of the jobs out there, these tips hold true.
The resumes I was seeing on reddit were all sorts of messy. People were detailing their job experience in paragraphs so difficult to read I'm sure no one plowed through them. They listed their experience at the end of the resume and in no particular order. They were spending the first half of the page telling us what they thought of themselves (and their abilities) versus getting to the meat of the presentation. These resumes were train wrecks and it was easy to see why they had not been effective.
2. List quantifiable accomplishments beginning with action verbs.
Consider two candidates. The first one lists the following in detailing his most recent job:
I helped the sales team in their work.
The second lists this:
Supported nine-person team to deliver 10.4% sales growth over previous year and earn company-wide recognition award for performance.
Now, which of those two people would you want to interview? (By the way, the purpose of a resume is simply to get you an interview.)
See how the second is so much better than the first? If you don't let me name a few ways:
The second seems like it's written impartially (though it's not, of course.) By not using "I" it makes the accomplishment less from you and more objective.
There's action in the second one. The candidate "supported" the team. What did the first person do? Probably whatever they told him. The second person took action (and appears to be more of a go-getter). By the way, "supported" isn't the greatest action word in the world. I'd prefer "led" or "directed" but most entry-level people aren't at the stage where they direct or lead much, so you have to use the best word you can.
The second has QUANTIFIABLE results. They are not vague -- you know he was part of a team that had a 10.4% sales increase. That's both specific and impressive.
The second sneaks in a second point detailing why he's awesome. Not only did he work to deliver great sales, but an outside source ("the company") recognized the efforts as outstanding. This guy is a winner!!!
The sad thing is that these two different lines could actually be the same person! It's just that if he has no clue how to write a resume it might be more like option 1 but if he had a bit of direction he'd write it as option 2.
Questions I get about this tip often come down to "I don't have any accomplishments" and "I'm not sure how to quantify what I've done."
If you literally have zero accomplishments, you need to try and make the bullets sound as impressive as you can. That said, if you have honestly contributed nothing meaningful to your current employer, why should a new one want to hire you?
If you have accomplishments but aren't sure they can be quantified, that's better than nothing. But think hard and use numbers if at all possible as long as they are impressive (delivering a sales increase of 0.1% is not worth mentioning -- unless of course the rest of the company was down 20% and then you'd want to list it as "Delivered 20% sales increase versus rest of company.")
3. Focus on networking if you really want to find a job.
Submitting a resume online makes the applicant feel like he's doing something, but the chances of being hired this way are remote. In fact, Forbes says, "This method works just 4% of the time, on average."
I have advertised jobs online several times and we'd always get a few hundred applicants for one position. I probably spent less than six seconds on each resume just to get it down to 10 or so I felt were qualified. I'm sure I missed many great candidates this way but the sheer numbers dictated my actions. Many companies face the same thing, that's why the odds of being hired from an online source are not great.
Instead, do a little networking. You know, actually talk to human beings -- people you know, people friends and family know, people past co-workers know, people your college professors know, and on and on. Talk to people, tell them what you're looking for, and ask if they can help or know anyone who can.
By the way, you're going to need to be a good networker to advance your career anyway (networking is one on my seven steps to make millions more in your career), so you might as well get good at it now.
Networking takes a lot more effort (which is why people probably avoid it) but is MUCH more successful. Forbes says this method "works 33% of the time." The only thing that works better (at 47%) is "knocking on the door of any employer" which is simply a cold-call version of networking.
If you're looking for another source on the dynamics above, consider the facts presented here:
80 percent of jobs are not posted online.
Only about five applicants actually earn an interview from hundreds of applications.
Referrals account for around a third of all external hires.
Networking allows you to break out of the pack, find a personal connection, and get selected as one of the few who get an interview. Using it you have between a 33% and 47% chance of success -- versus a 4% chance simply posting online. Is it any wonder these reddit posters were having issues?
It's Not Just Reddit Users
My experience here was with reddit users, but it's not unique to them.
Almost everywhere I get asked about reviewing a resume (from a friend in person, someone emailing me one, online on other sites, etc.) I see the exact same mis-steps. These there are very common. And unfortunately, if you get them wrong, you are significantly hurting your chances for success.
That said, now that you know how critical these are, implement them in your next resume. If you do, you'll stand out from the pack and your odds of success will grow dramatically.

[Please peep this before you post!]
Welcome to /r/Starbucks!
This is the unofficial subreddit for the popular coffee company! We are not in any way affiliated with corporate; this subreddit is entirely fan-run (although most of us here are employees!) and anyone is welcome. The views expressed here are ours alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of the company. If you are a customer seeking assistance with a store-level issue (rude baristas, drink issues, etc) you can contact 1-800-STARBUC (or 1-800-782-7282), try a search through the customer service FAQ and if a search doesn't work, you can try one of the official hotlines! Please note that if you post here, any responses you get are going to be from retail employees and possibly even other customers, and while corporate is aware of the subreddit, they do not handle issues posed here.
If this is your first time here and you have a question, please check out the new and revised Subreddit FAQ to be sure that your question hasn't already been answered! This helps cut down on reposts so the front page of the subreddit can be full of fresh content. If you're looking for New Hire tips, or help learning drinks, here's a super handy cheat sheet and remember, this job has a steep learning curve and it will take time before you're even somewhat competent here -- and that's okay!
Flair
Did our sick nasty flairs happen to catch your eye around the subreddit? Want to sport your own wicked badge of honour, but don't know how? First of all, it has to be done either on a desktop browser, or using desktop mode on a mobile browser. For the sake of mobile users, I'll use my phone's browser.
This is the subreddit main page - note the sidebar to the right!
This is what you need in the sidebar, at the top. Your username. hit "edit."
And that should bring you to this! Select your flair and hit save!
Bam, done, check out your flair any time you comment!
Happen to notice the Coffee Master bean flair? Want one of your own? First of all, you need to be a Coffee Master, a title that has unfortunately, currently, been "discontinued" alongside the program. But, if you were certified pre-Death, send the moderators a message including an image link (preferably imgur) of your Coffee Master Apron and something you can write the time and date on. Like a normal verification picture for any other subreddit! We'll go ahead and slap that bean right onto your flair, EZPZ!
Rules
In case you don't care about flair, and otherwise haven't peeped the sidebar, our rules are available here. Most of them are straightforward, but I do want to expand upon a couple of them.
Rule 1: No spam, reposts, or self-promotion
Before you post an article, do a quick search and make sure it hasn't already been shared in the last 24 hours. We don't need the front page clogged up with the same three articles or memes. Additionally, if you've written an article or made a video or are selling a product, please don't just pop by, drop the link, and leave. Please try to avoid posting direct links to Facebook, Instagram, and Google Docs/Drive as these can lead to revealing personal information. And if you need homework help, please run it by the mods before plugging a survey link to the subreddit!
Rule 7: No publishing internal resources
This has been hashed and rehashed across the subreddit multiple times, and at this point is now kind of inexcusable. If the drink has not been announced through an official public Starbucks medium (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or through Rewards emails), then it cannot be posted here yet. This includes leaked information in articles, please. If you need to be employed to access it, images of it cannot be posted here. However, discussion (assuming it doesn't leak unreleased drinks/food) is not only permitted, but encouraged.
Rule 8: No personal information
This used to not be a huge issue, but lately has become a slightly larger issue. When you share images from your coworkers, from your store, images of receipts, etc, please remember to censor out the partner numbers and store location from the top of the receipt, as well as any other revealing information! This is not only for Reddit's sitewide content policy but also for your safety! Remember, a majority of users on this subreddit are employees, and we all have access to the Partner Hub. Even when at home, with just your partner numbers, they can see your full name and store location and everyone you work with. Customers can use your store location to create problems, too.
We're also making a slight addition to this rule to follow many other subreddits - when sharing screenshots from social media, please remember to censor out usernames unless the poster is a meme account (like bikinibottomtwitter) or a big celebrity. Leaving usernames up can lead to brigading, and if some of you have been active enough, you may remember that we've been brigaded twice in the last 7 months (that I can recall!). If someone requests the censored username, please do not give it. If someone forgets to censor a username and you dig to find information on that person and then post it to the thread, you are actively participating in witchhunting. Witchhunting is a bannable offence, not only by this subreddit, but by the site as a whole if caught by site admins.
Other Helpful Notes
Finding yourself active here, but still wanting more? Or are you not keen on the format of Reddit, maybe desiring a faster mode of communication? We have a very active Discord server for customers and partners alike! Our active moderators from the subreddit are all over there, and we are all extremely accessible. I, for one, am always on Discord, and my DMs are always open. The server is always growing and always changing, and we're always open to new ideas! My DMs are also always open here, and if you don't feel comfortable reaching out to a single moderator, please feel free to message us as a team!
Some casual announcements for the subreddit:
I'm going to be working on automod again to get her running weekly Venti posts like I promised ages ago...
Currently trying to get SFM and ASM flairs live - just need to get the CSS to match up!
join us on the Discord for more fun and inclusivity! We could even organise community nights to run things together!

But, if you were certified pre-Death, send the moderators a message including an image link (preferably imgur) of your Coffee Master Apron and something with the time and date written on it.
