[UNDERSWAP] Quotes For Every Character

I went ahead and wrote some character quotes for every significant character in Underswap (Including some characters who never initially had any concepts.) Hopefully whoever ends up seeing this enjoys them! Some characters will also include headcanons (Which I will explain along with their personality as you read.)

I'm going by the logic that each character retains some of their personality, while still giving off a swapped vibe.

Okay, I've been meaning to do this post for a while, but sadly NB likes keeping me busy on the couch. But yeah! I have first impressions and opinions to share, whether you like them or not.

Call me stupid or something, but I did not know that Barbatos made a pact with Solomon. (And I feel for you, Barbatos. I really do. And I'll leave this at that.)

Also, sad to see the devs did not change how the story begins - so you get stuck with Mammon. Again. Which I hated in the original game already. Because of that, and the game forcing to use his card in the beginning, he got to intimacy lvl 5. Not happy.

Adding a skip function to surprise guests? THANK FUCKING YOU. FINALLY. I CAN SKIP WHO I DON'T WANT. (Which means there's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of skipping for me because I don't have my royal threesome card arsenal in this game. Yet.) Because even ignore function adds intimacy in here. So if you don't want it, skip it.

The new Nightmare looks nice, but the summoning board is a bit too neon-y for my tastes. Because of that, I also find it harder to make out what color the skull eyes are. /w\ I'm blind and refuse to wear my glasses most of the time lol.

My most favorite new thing though, has to be WW. You can just skip a scene if it's not a character you like and watch the ones you do like. (And I already found it so cute how Lucifer treats the MC sheep when you gift him one. * w*) It also made the floor plan visible to us all, and in all honestly I had been wondering what kind of blueprints the house had. Now we know! ♥

Also reversing the outfit purchases was a nice move. This means less ravens for me to spend on outfits, since pretty much Lucifer has the only normal clothes I like. And even then, I prefer his demon form.

I also noticed that they decided to limit how many DVs you can purchase with ravens monthly though. Which I find ridiculous, because in the original game that's basically the only thing I used my ravens on once I had gotten all the outfits I wanted.

Another thing I also am not a fan of, is the Fab Snap thing. I'm a fucking boomer who doesn't use Snapchat, so I fail to see the attraction of it. (And while we're at it, I don't have Facebook, Instagram or TikTok either.)

Overall? I'm liking the story so far, which isn't that far yet lmao. (But oh man getting to see the bestest boi so early on was by far my favorite thing. * w*) And I'd lie if I said it wasn't hilarious how everyone's way of dealing with Satan was involving chaining him up in some closed space. He's still one of my favorites, but that's exactly why it's so amusing.

Oh man, I have a long, long way to go with Lucifer again. But it's worth it. It's gonna be worth it. I know.

Ages ago admittedly, but then I lost the tab in my pile of tabs.

1. are you named after anyone?

Yep! A few people actually. Millicent comes from my great auntie Millicent. A ferocious and seriously impressive lady. I only met her a few times due to being several continents apart, but she always amazed me. I'm somewhat also named after Millicent from Ozy and Millie, the excellent comic by Dana Simpson.

My middle name Alice also comes from my Grandma. It's actually her first name though she typically goes by her middle name. Plus I like the association to a good friend and to she of Alice in Wonderland.

2. when was the last time you cried?

I think about a week ago? I've been rereading the exceptional Old Addictions Die Hard by @logjammer9000 and there are quite a few parts that made me sob. Indeed a big part of why I started my third reread is the most recent chapter included a character death that had me absolutely sobbing. She knows exactly how to destroy me it seems.

3. do you have kids?

No, but I'd love to. It's gotten harder (being trans is a complicating factor), and I often worry that I won't get a chance, but I really would love to be a Mum. On the plus side my sister is interested in having kids and I would be pretty happy to be a cool aunt to them.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

Hm. I don't think so. I think I did when I was younger, as I seem to remember having that as a reputation? but can't recall specifically.

5. what sports do you play / have you played?

Tennis and Basket Ball. I think the tennis was mostly just learning not matches, but it was outside school so I think it counts. The basketball was matches, and our team were....not amazing. But I really enjoyed it and it was crazy how much better I was at it than people who didn't play (crazy to me because I assumed I was bad) when I tried it out later.

6. what's the first thing you notice about other people?

Hrm. I'm not sure there's like, a body part or w/ever I go to consistently. It's mostly just 'do they have any distinguishing looks that make them look a bit queer', otherwise my attention often doesn't last long. Y'know, cool jacket, tattoos, pins, coloured hair, that sort of thing.

7. what's your eye colour?

Brown. I used to dislike that cause it was 'boring' and 'normal' but I think it's a fairly nice shade.

8. scary movies or happy endings?

Yup! Love scary movies, all about that. Love happy endings too, big sap for stories where things are just, nice. Doesn't even necessarily need stakes some of the time.

9. any special talents?

I'm bad at complimenting myself so I sorta just don't think I'm good at anything? I'm a bit of a jack of all trades and can pick things up pretty quickly. And generally do them reasonably well when I get a chance to figure it out. I can be really good at retaining instructions and then teaching others (was complimented on this recently so I can ignore the internal criticism).

I also think I'm pretty good with people. Listening to them and empathising when needed. I've been told I have capybara energy which I think is pretty special.

10. where were you born?

Misread this as 'were you born' and was wondering why Macbeth was fishing for information.

I was born in Arica, in Chile. I have few memories from there, mostly from when I revisited at age 5. We left after about 2 years.

11. what are your hobbies?

haaaah. Well. All of them.

I draw and paint; I crochet and knit; I like building models; I do puzzles; I game; I run & rock climb; I write; I like making things in general regardless of medium; I paint miniatures; I make games; I play TTRPGs (mostly D&D).

Not all the time, but those are hobbies I like and where I haven't done them in a while I intend to return to them when the mood takes me.

12. do you have any pets.

Yes! I have an absolutely adorable cat named Kita. She's a princess and meows a LOT and likes to sit on my chest while I work.

I also just recently got a puppy! His name is Ozy (officially Ozymandias King-of-Kings). He's a bit of a terror at the moment due to the puppy madness, but I adore him. He's the softest and cuddliest thing you've ever seen and when not mad, he's a pretty chill and snoozy guy. Also real smart, it's a danger.

13. how tall are you?

Last I measured I was 5'11. That was before the hormones though, so it's possible I'm shorter now.

14. favourite subject in school?

I loved anything that let me be creative. I got a lot out of creative writing, photography, painting etc. Sadly didn't really pursue many into the later parts of schooling as I went with the uni required English Lit which wasn't creative and was just reading and analysing which I didn't like. Some good teachers tho. I also loved Programming (the class had a few names) and was pretty decent at it. Also what I do now for a living.

15. dream job?

Ahhh, I'm currently struggling with this personally! I don't really know. The work I do is...fine. It pays well and keeps me engaged at least some of the time. I was liking it more because I got them to give me a 4 day week. But I found the income hit hard and am back on 5 days and hating it.

I think my current dream would be to run a Bookshop/Event Space. Somewhere fairly cosy with room to host like queer community events, or D&D games or that sort of thing.

That or some kind of artist/writer.

Hello! I dont know if you are taking requests rn but if you feel comfortable could you write the bsd characters helping/comforting reader through a bad panic attack? Maybe reader has been super stressed w/ school or work and has just been bottling things up until they snap. Personally my panic attacks are intense: hyperventilating, shaking, tears, digging my fingers into my arms and legs almost bruisingly, unable to hold my weight- just in case you need ideas. If this is uncomfortable for you then dont worry about it. Love your writing!!!

Of course I can! I don't have any personal experience with panic attacks but from what I've witnessed with my friends they can be really tough, so I hope this brings you some comfort❤️I wasn't sure which characters you wanted so I just did headcanons with the ADA and Port Mafia guys lol. But he's no idiot, he knows this isn't a normal occurrence, so does what he thinks is best 

And that is using Rashoumon's tendrils to gently hold your hands.

Akutagawa just doesn't want you hurting yourself and he also doesn't want to potentially make the situation worse by not giving you the space you need

Rashoumon holding your hands makes you aware that you're having a panic attack 

You cry harder when you meet Akutagawa's soft eyes and embrace him as you cry into his arms. You never wanted him to see you like this

Once you've calmed down enough, you explain to him that you were having a panic attack and tell him what causes them and what he can do to help you next time

He's so attentive and commits everything you said to memory so he can do what he can to prevent or ease your panic attacks

Atsushi:

He is trying

He is panicking so much internally and externally

Clueless #2

Atsushi has no clue what to do

So he does what he thinks is right

He tries to instruct you to follow his breaths once he sees your panic attack escalate into hyperventilating 

"I'm going to need you to follow my breaths, can you do that for me?"

He's relieved that you're still conscious and able to nod

He guides your hand to his chest and places your other hand on your own chest

Slowly he starts breathing in and nods at you to follow his breathing

"Take a breath. Now slowly exhale with me"

"Yes, that's it, just like that"

This goes on for several minutes

It was difficult at first, but his steady breathing did calm you down enough to start breathing more slowly

Once it's over, he's hugging you and stroking your hair just letting you cry silently into his shoulder

Chuuya:

Idk but he gives me the vibe that he'll probably handle it the best

He's wiping your tears with his gloved hands because he doesn't have tissues in his pockets

He makes a note to bring tissues next time in case you have another panic attack

He's holding you gently against his chest so you can listen to his steady heartbeat

He's rubbing your back telling you to let it all out

The soft fall and rise of his chest comforts you and encourages you to slow your breathing

He's so understanding and gentle

He's whispering words of assurance into your hair

He's rubbing circles into your back and gently kisses your forehead once the panic attack passes

Dazai:

I feel like Dazai has a vague idea of what to do and just tries whatever he thinks will calm you down

He's seen how stressed you had been lately because of the numerous assignments and deadlines you needed to meet

Dude's really calm about it and just tries to find a way that gets you through this safely

He sits next to you and gently clasps his hands in yours to stop you from digging your fingers into your skin

"I'm right here" keeps whispering that to you to try calm you down

Throughout your panic attack, he keeps eye contact with you because he wants to give you his full attention.

At some point, you collapse into his arms from exhaustion and he likes to rub your back and wipe your tears

Kunikida:

Like Chuuya, he handles it very well

The only thing is, his way is more professional, like it was written in a manual and he's following the steps kind of way

It doesn't matter tho, because it does work and you're no longer sobbing uncontrollably

He is almost 100% prepared, but then your legs start to give way from exhaustion and he's holding you gently in his arms allowing you to rest

However, the next day you get a whole lecture from him about the importance of rest

Don't misunderstand tho, he's only nagging because he cares deeply about you 

He's very sweet afterwards to make up for being stern tho <3

He bought you your favourite food for lunch and he insists that you let him help you with your tasks

It doesn't take a Detective to tell that you're having a panic attack

Ranpo drops all his snacks and runs to you

Your legs shake and feel weak

He loops an arm around you to support you as you start to buckle

He's never seen you hyperventilate so he's shocked for a moment or two

But not long after, he's motioning for you to try regulate your breathing

He's taking deep breaths in and exhaling slowly 

Your breaths are still coming in and out faster than Ranpo's but they slow down significantly

You grab his hand and squeeze it to ground yourself

He holds your other hand and you're both breathing while he looks into your eyes

Once it's passed, he's super sweet like Kunikida and he even shares his favourite snacks with you

Tanizaki:

Like Atsushi, he's probably panicking

But it's less obvious in his case

He knows that he has to stay calm in this situation for you, so he's wiping your tears and telling you how important you are to him

He sits you down on his seat and he kneels beside you 

Your hands are clasped in your lap and he wraps his warm hands around your hands

He's rubbing circles into your hands and occasionally wiping your tears

You hate that you allowed yourself to become so overwhelmed where you're having a panic attack

But he's reassuring you that it's OK to feel overwhelmed and that you can always come to him because he loves and cares for you
