hey  there,  nonnie.  first  of  all,  thanks  for  the  ask!  i  love  answering  random  ooc  questions,  &  i’m  about  to  rattle  of  some  hot  takes  lmao.

disregarding  blatantly  problematic  ships  (  i’m  looking  at  you,  people  who  romantically  ship  adults  with  children  …  yes,  this  includes  jaspvid,  please  stop  aging  jasper  up  or  making  aus  where  he  lived  just  to  ship  him  with  david,  he’s  not  a  fucking  adult  he’s  a  kid  forever  pl—  )  i  wouldn’t  say  there  are  any  ships  that  particularly  irk  me.  i’m  definitely  not  a  supporter  of  danvid,  though,  because  …  y’know,  daniel  tried  to  kill  everyone  &  looks  like  david’s  god  damn  twin.  that  being  said,  i  don’t  get  a  lot  of  the  fandom’s  ships,  i.e.  nerrison  or  harrison  /  neil  (  nerris  &  neil  are  both  pretty  mean  to  harrison  or  just  dislike  him,  )  but  i  don’t  have  much  of  a  problem  with  them  so  long  as  they’re  harmless.

now,  i  would  like  to  add  that  i  don’t  really  ship  any  cc  ships.  i’m  inclined  towards  gwenvid  thanks  to  jonesy,  but  i’m  not  really  feeling  it  outside  of  that  as  of  right  now,  just  because  the  campers  are  all  so  young.  i’m  pretty  young  myself,  &  i’m  not  saying  kids  that  age  don’t  get  crushes  on  each  other  or  whatever  …  but,  like,  basically  no  one  dates  at  that  age.  deadass  it  just  doesn’t  happen,  &  if  it  does,  it’s  not  comparable  to  a  real  relationship.  i  know  some  of  the  campers  in  the  show  are  more  mature  than  others,  but  being  mature  at  that  age  isn’t  the  same  as  being  older  —  speaking  of  which,  something  about  aging  them  up  a  bit  to  ship  them  (  especially  with  smut?  gross  )  also  kind  of  weirds  me  out,  but  i  don’t  have  a  huge  problem  with  it  so  long  as  it’s  sfw.

i’m  about  to  get  just  a  little  off  the  topic  of  ships  here,  but  another  problem  i  have  with  the  camp  camp  fandom  is  how  everyone  seems  super  eager  to  give  their  camper  muses  &  ocs  lgbt  canons.  &  i’m  not  saying  you  can’t  do  that!  it’s  just  like  i  said  before  —  most  of  these  kids  aren’t  going  to  be  giving  themselves  labels  like  that,  &  if  they  do,  they’re  very  prone  to  be  proven  incorrect  later  on.  i’m  more  open  to  bi  /  gay  hcs,  so  long  as  they’re  left  open,  just  because  this  is  an  age  where  kids  would  be  questioning  at  most  —  but  even  then,  it’d  be  more  like  “oh,  i  think  i  have  a  crush  on  that  pretty  girl????”  than  “oh,  i’m  a  lesbian.”  this  isn’t  always  the  case,  but  it  usually  is.  other  identities  get  me  even  more  :/  because  it’s  iffy  when  your  8  year  old  muse  identifies  as  genderfluid  &  is  poly,  or  even  when  you  make  a  shit  ton  of  super  young  muses  trans.  (  i  was  in  a  cc  rp  server  for  a  while  after  i  just  started  watching  the  show  &  someone  was  doing  a  thread  about  their  trans  oc  that  was  lowkey  disgusting  &  transphobic  so  i  guess  i  came  into  this  fandom  with  a  knife.  )  but  hey.  that’s  all  a  discussion  for  another  day  …  unless  sb  wants  to  send  a  followup  about  it  because  i  think  this  is  a  good  conversation  to  have.

tldr;  i  don’t  mind  cc  ships  that  aren’t  fucked  up,  but  i  honestly  don’t  ship  any  campers  myself  …  &  y’all  gotta  use  good  judgement  about  how  mature  your  character  is  or  what  they’ve  been  exposed  to  when  you  try  to  think  about  lgbt  hcs.

"You totally are their favorite." It was a statement, an observation, not even an accusation and Max was shocked to see that everyone seems to agree with Ered's ridiculous claim.

"That's crazy. Why would I of all people be their favorite? I make life living hell for them on a daily routine. I don't get why they care at all." Max countered, he felt somewhat gulty now after recent events but he did have a point. He's been awful to David and Gwen since day one, why would they ever favor him of all people? These kids were insane.

"Dude are you kidding me?! They adore you!" Nerris oh so helpfully pointed out. "Seriously, it's giving me complexes." Nurf added, stabing the table with his knife. Max flinched a bit at that action, which earned him a concerned stare from Neil. He swallowed.

It's been getting harder to hide stuff lately and his friends were starting to notice. Even Nikki started to be more mellow around him, probably afraid she would cause a panic attack if she jumped at him without warning again.

"Why are we even having that conversation?" He asked but said question got ignored. "Honestly, I'm pretty sure he always was David's favorite." Harrison pointed out. He sighed, looking somewhat sad, "Lucky you." He mumbled under his breath.

Max thought back to parents day, Harrison's parents were there, sure, but they were...... He wondered if his giant slingshot still worked...

Preston gave Harrison a subtle sympathetic pat on the shoulder before turning to Max too. "I think it's nice! Almost like orphan Annie!"

"Say that again and I will break your hand." He deadpaned, Preston let out a little squeak, "You don't need to be such a dick. He was trying to be nice. We all are!" Nerris, ever so protective, told him as she half leaned over Harrison, and in extension Preston, to shield them from his glare. "Speak for yourself." Nurf threw in.

Max sighed, "This is ridiculous. What makes you all think this nonsense?"

"Dude, David has a clipboard with 'max positivity = success' framed in their cabin!" Ered exclaimed. "They constantly put your well being before ours."Dolph put in his two cents, "They have been making sure you actually eat. Which, by the way, you really should do more." Nurf said, he's a strange individual at times...

"They have a point." Neil oh so helpfully added to the conversation, Max glared. "I mean, they do seem to really care about you specifically. Even more so since..." He trailed off, leaving the sentence hang in the air.

"Since your parents were no shows!" Nikki ended it, ever so helpful. Neil's hand made contact with his head.

"Honestly though, they look at you like you are their child or something." Nerris said and Max had about enough. He slamed his fists on the table, causing the entire room to fall silent.

This was ridiculous. Sure they cared more then his actual parents, but they didn't care *that* much! They didn't view him as their son. They didn't plan to adopt him. Nothing would change after he leaves camp. Nothing would ever change.

"You all are insane!" He exclaimed as he stormed out of the mess hall, there were tears pricking in his eyes. Stupid campers. Stupid Ered, stupid Nerris stupid Neil, stupid Nikki, stupid everyone!

He heared footsteps following him as he marched out, Neil and Nikki, he knew they would try to comfort him so that wasn't really surprising, but there were also others, which *did* surprise him.

"Max wait!" Preston exclaimed. It made him pause. Max looked behind him to see him, Nerris and Harrison alongside his best friends, what were *they* doing following him?

Preston tugged Nerris forward, who gave him a annoyed glare. "Sorry if what I said offended you. I didn't mean to make fun of you." She said. "Yeah dude. We didn't think this would upset you." Neil threw in.

"We weren't trying to blame you for anything. I actually am happy for you." Harrison tried to explain, then he paused. "Well and a bit jealous maybe." Yup, Max sure as hell would be checking that slingshot contraption before the camp is over so he could make sure this time it will hit the desired target.

"We just think it's nice that they care about you that much. You might be an asshole but you still deserve being loved."

"Yeah! Screw your asshole parents!"

"Nikki!"

"What?! Oh right...sensitive topic."

Max stared at the children standing infront of him. It was weird, how they seemed to care for him despite everything. Something he really wasn't used to. He felt a smile appear on his face as Neil scolded Nikki while Preston and Nerris where pressed agains Harrison, they have been doing that a lot lately.

Max chuckled, "Fucking nerds." He said, but it was missing it's usual bit. The others stared at him in a perplexed manner.

"Come on you guys. Whatever this dump has to offer us today, I'm sure we are better off facing it in numbers." He announced before walking off.

There was momentary silence before-

"GROUP HUG!"

David breathed in the fresh forest air, today would be a great day, he knew it. He was starting-

His thoughts got interrupted as a rare sound caught his ear, he looked into the direction of the mess hall and was delighted to see what was going on there.

A group of the campers was piled on top of eachother, with Max on the ground. However, instead of looking annoyed Max seemed cheerful, laughing even.

David felt something in his chest swell. "Now that's a rare sight. Our grumpy cat is having fun." Gwen said as she was leaning against their cabin. "Isn't that wonderful Gwen! Max didn't make one, not three...wait actually he did make three...Max made three new friends today!" David exclaimed, excitement dripping off of him. Gwen smiled at him, "We will have to make sure they visit him once this whole thing is wrapped up."

David felt heat gather in his face. Right. They were doing this together. "We still have a ton of paperwork to file in." He reminded her.

"You do that, I will go take a look at our disasters."

With that Gwen made her way to the campers. David smiled as he watched her help Max get up from the ground, she brushed some of the dirt off of his hoody before ruffling through his hair.

David knew, everything would only get better from here.

Powder puff (that's a dog breed)

If you are talking about a Chinese Crested…which is what I think you’re talking about coz a Powder is another name for a Chinese Crested…o.o But correct me if I’m wrong…BUT, IF SO, THEN:

I say both good and great because like…they’re a little better than good for me, but they’re not quite at great level for me. So they’re somewhere inbetween. …Groot. Lmao. Or…Grood. Gread? Lmaooooo. Idk. But…

See, when I think of a Chinese Crested, I immediately think of the hairless ones with the Sheila From Accounting look. xD (Idk if you remember that meme but it’s one of my faves lmaaaooo always reblog Sheila from accounting.) But there’s another kind that is a double coat (!!!) version and, well…you know me and my double coat obsession. Heh. And I think that’s what you’re talking about? I could be wrong, though. BUT going off of THAT mindset…

The double coat version of the Chinese Crested is more towards the great level than the good level…and the Hairless is more towards the good level than the great level. Why? Appearance. That’s all. I have a double coat obsession. I’m biased.

But then again, dog breeds did survive throughout history and evolve throughout history based almost solely on cuteness when they started sticking around camps full of early humans and the cuter you were as a dog, the more likely you would be kept and well fed and well taken care of. That’s why we have breeds like Pomeranians and Papillions. So, I’m biased, yes, but that’s how humans have always been. The cuter the dog, the more likely it is to survive the chaos of natural selection and evolve as time goes on. Idr the whole thing exactly, but in Neil Degrasse Tyson’s show on Netflix (which I haven’t seen in a looooooong time, so Idr what episode it is or what season or if there was only one season??? idr), he actually did a whole episode on this exact topic. On how and why cuteness played a role in canine evolution.

I don’t know much about the Chinese Crested personality. How their general purebred personalities go…Or any of their health problems or history. So I can’t say much on them. I think I remember reading in this vet textbook I got a long time ago (that literally just…is a book FULL TO THE BRIM of hundreds of pages of every single dog breed in existence and what their most prominent/common medial issues are when purebred) that they have a lot of dental issues. I don’t remember if that’s the dog breed I’m thinking of, but that book is basically an instructional book on the number one thing to look for in each breed when doing a physical exam. It’s a fucking wonderful book written by a woman who has been a veterinarian, canine ethologist (behaviourism stuff, so basically like a dog psych lol), and an obedience trainer all of her life. She wrote another book on the proper way to train your dogs and, ironically, basically elaborates on everything I learned in my Behaviourism classes in school so far and all the training methods that we learned and how and when to utilize them and with what breed what method works best and this and that and omfg she’s great! Her books can be downloaded as e-books, too, so you just have to pay the small fee (e-books are super cheap, but the actual hard copies are kinda expensive coz they’re REALLY big books) and then you get to download the main book, which is the training book…and the veterinary handbook based on specific breeds and one other book comes with it for free. She’s fucking fantastic and puts everything in laymen terms for the average reader! (And also follows up with medical terminology for those of us that study these things professionally! SO COOL!)

Oh….ranting. LOLOLOL.

But yeah, uh. Not knowing much about the common traits of these dogs personalities, I can’t say much. So going solely off looks and the fact I do believe you’re talking about the Chinese Crested with the double coat (which you don’t really see much in media) and me having an obsession with double coated dogs, I just…… THEY ARE GOOD DOGGOS. I love all doggos. (((((((Except one breed)))))))
